Reviews of Wimbledon Tandoori

Great naan, tasty curries and friendly service. The venue caters for large parties which is always a win. My go to is the the lamb tikka which is very tender and well spiced.

Best curry I've had in years! Very reasonable prices and great portion sizes! Service was excellent also!
J. F. -. B.
Up market restaurant, with prices from moderate to expensive offering a wide range of dishes.
My second time here but first with new owners,
Still has its private back tables for birthdays or if you want a bit more privately.
Loved the king prawn kalma.
Only negative comment was the ice cream Sunday could have been a little less solid.
All said and done I liked the place

Nice place and Great service! Naan bread is very good. Many of the dishes were a bit too sweet for us though.
M. B.
Nice enough restaurant but the inflated prices bcoz it's in Wimbledon Village don't make the food any better. Very disappointed as curry houses in other, cheaper areas, are as good if not better. Won't rush back.

Tandoori have recently changed their menu to offer more curry options, great for a night out in charming and convivial atmosphere

Consistently this restaurant excels! We are running short on authentic Indian restaurants and I very much hope they stay around for a long time. Extinction is my greatest fear! Wim Tan.....is for the gods...pure heaven, or nirvana on a plate. The texture, spice and flavour are deeply rooted and transport you to another place. This is true curry! The proprietors, although coming across unflappable are fastidious in their dedication to deliver un-compromised fare. In a world of commoditised food economics it is humbling to see the owners go to great lengths to source quality old school Indian chefs, at home and abroad. This is a restaurant for the discerning curry enthusiast.

We have just had the best Indian meal in years. The King prawn tikka was out of this world with lovely fat tasty prawns. it was so good I nearly took a photo and wish I had now to post on here. Thoroughly recommend to cheer up lockdown! Thank you! Miranda

Wimbledon Tandoori is a quiet curry spot on the ridgeway just tucked away next to Wimbledon Village. It’s small front room is a tight squeeze but the food is fantastic! This is an expensive meal, but perfect for a special occasion. The menu is varied and each dish arrived quickly, the service is wonderful. I would definitely try their take away service, I think they even offer discount for this!

We have eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the food and the experience. The food is always tasty though not drained of fat before being served. They have a good selection of vegetable dishes. Everything on the menu looks pricey compared to local Indians in less posh areas but we find that the final bill isn't usually much higher. It is usually busy with a good atmosphere, nice decor and pleasant waiters. As with any similar restaurant the service will be slow when the place is packed. Some on-street parking outside.

Very tasty curries in there, quite possibly the best in the area. Prices reflect it's position in the village, but the staff are friendly and the menu has a good selection.
The only downside is that on Friday / Saturday evenings when the place is really packed there is so little space between the tables that you can hear the conversation of the people on the table next to you almost better than you can hear your own conversation. Feels like they are trying to cram too many tables in to maximise profits - still on and other night of the week a pleasure to visit.

They're a real friendly bunch at this restaurant which always makes for a nice atmosphere. The tandoori king prawns and lamb vindaloo were top notch tonight. Good clean tasty Indian food, just how it should be. Highly recommended.

Good High St curry, at reasonable cost. £30.00 for 2 without drinks.

Ordered and collected when they were very busy - food was on time and was one of the best curries I have had in a long time! Staff were friendly and polite as well.

As ever this team deliver superb mouth watering food in a great modern environment. Staff are always attentive and helpful and the service is spot on.
We feel so welcome here and in 20 odd years have never had a dud meal.
Can highly recommend the Dhansaks and Pathia.

Food here is amazing. Best curry house in the area. If it wasnt the fact that i'd probably double in weight, I would eat here every day. Staff are friendly and attentive. Very efficient take away service.

Beautiful food (especially the specials) and fantastic stuff. Kept us sane through much of 2020 and so lovely to be able to continue enjoying their cooking!

Wimbledon is not known for its Indian restaurants - for a real taste of the Subcontinent you have to make your way to Tooting, that much is obvious. I was once told that Wimbledon Tandoori is the best Indian restaurant in Merton, since Tooting is in Wandsworth it might just be true....'might'. It's a traditional affair with the usual smart waiters and mango chutney galore. The kind of place you'd take your mum for her birthday. Recommended.

Great curry, well priced. I have yet to have anything other than a great meal there. Would recommend to anyone seeking a decent, not-overly expensive curry.

I would love to give this place 5 stars as the overall food quality is very good, and the service when eating in is also very good.
Unfortunately, they lose a star for the naan’s. The peshwari naan is completely flavourless and dry. It doesn’t taste of coconut, sultanas or almonds and is normally what I look forward to the most so is always a disappointment.
Most other curry houses will include complimentary popadoms too with takeaways, but this place doesn’t!
