Wasn't expecting after midnight anything open, the manager I think was nice & accepted us to dine in, we ordered lamb & chicken shish kebab, very large portion of mixed meat, chips, salad, rice for £10.00 good price, variety beverages. Warm bread, dips & Turkish delights on the house was nice treat. The hot chili sauce was the best dip 😋 Under 30 pounds for 2. The manager wasn't rushing us, which was nice hospitality & good customer service. Definitely recommend & will be back again.

We went for a mid-week lunch here (we were the only customers). The place was clean, and the servers polite. Good ambience, and efficient service - despite being the first customers of the day. They serve free bread and the yoghurt-cucumber sauce. We ordered the sucuk for starters and it was well cooked, and had a distinct taste - and with the free bread, was enough for one between two We then moved to starts, we had the Iskender, the lamb kofte, chicken pieces, chips, bulgur rice, white rice, and salad between two people (standard offering across the two menu items we chose). The portion sizes were HUGE. They were very well cooked, grilled to near perfection, and each had a unique taste. The portion size was so big, that even after eating half, the Iskender still fit into an entire takeaway box. The drinks are also very generous in large glasses - which is fair because they are a bit on the pricey side. There is also 1 hour free parking right outside, so you can be in and out within an hour over lunch etc. Decor was a bit odd (mix of brick / wood / logs, stone etc), but nothing that detracts from the place. Would return - thank you.

Aside from not serving doner kebabs, this is a restaurant with a takeaway, not the other way around. The flavours from the mixed kebab meal were unbelievable. It's a long time since I've had anything this tasty. The portion size was fabulously over the top and the service impeccable - yep, doggy bags allowed. It gets busy here and it's easy to see why!

Came here for dinner with my bro. Absolutely banging! fresh food, cooked to perfection. Chicken kofte was amazing and great portion. Came with rice(bulgur) and salad and I had a tough time finishing it! Also food for myself, my bro and drinks came to under £38 so great value too! NOTE: Cash Only. There's an ATM like 2 mins away on the street next to the restaurant I highly recommend the garlic mushrooms. Although they are a treat as they aren't the healthiest meal but u won't regret it!

The food tastes very good good, I give 4 stars but not 5 because they only have small bottles of still water which they charge £2.5, I believe with that price they could serve a big one. Also payment is cash only, usually I don't have with me debit cards and cash, I expected to pay with credit card/contact less, it was nice of the owner that allowed me to pay via bank transfer.

Amazing food!!!! If you want to find taste of Turkey just order from here. I ordered Adana and chicken kebab combination and iskender kebab and plus ezme salad, and all were fabulous!!! specially when Adana kebab meet with ezme salad and feel that taste, you can melt! I love this place! Granted I do live locally so it is very handy for me...but that's part of the appeal! Super tasty food, the friendliest staff, and IT'S BYOB. Very lively atmosphere with all the tables squeezed into the room. I walk past everyday on my way home and have never seen it empty - it's clearly popular with everyone. We even sometimes get the food to go on a Sunday night a special treat. So it's not just the vibe we love.

I visited here a few times. They have nice Turkish food which is reasonable priced. However they have packed too many chairs into this space and so can feel very cramped depending on where you are sitting. The only reason I have not given this place a five star is due to the crampness and I felt uncomfortable as the waiters all stand nearby together and watch you eat. Whether this is to provide good service to you such as if you need a drink or have finished I don't know, but for people who need space when eating this place might not be for you. If you can look past that then all good.

I've visited this eatery twice now and it's sister restaurant across the road once. The first thing to mention is the great food - they always deliver a decent portion size which tastes great. The array of kebabs are really good and for a moderate price. The staff are incredibly friendly and will happily have a chat to you and entertain you and your friends. They certainly made my partner's mum's birthday when they came out danced with her and gave her a little cake on the house. It must be said that these are not spacious restaurants. There are plenty of tables but they are always busy and packed fairly tightly together. It didn't spoil anything for us as it adds to the atmosphere. If you can get there by underground then that can often be a better choice as the street outside gets busy - you can park there in the evenings but you have to hustle a little for a parking space. Happy eating!

This would be a 5 star venue, given the food is delicious and at a reasonable price, even the staff are super nice. However, in my opinion, the place is ruined by a couple too many tables... They're so closed to each other your shoulders touch, with separate tables and the tables themselves fit double the amount they would comfortably fit.

I have to change my review because last 2 times I was surprise with 2 increases of price and quality has dropped. Staff is very nice and helpful, food still good, but the toilet was really dirty and the price for the platter for 2 has increased at least twice this year. After it was hard to leave a nice tip, because I was this time very disappointed. This was my favourite restaurant in the area.

Visited this Turkish restaurant on the way back from the City. All the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. We have visited turkey 4 times in the past and the food at the Wood Oven is definitely authentic. They even serve Turkish lager - Efes - which is delicious. You can take your own wine in which is cheaper (there is a shop opposite the restaurant). The restaurant do charge you £2.50 per glass if you bring your own bottle in but it's still a cheaper option. The food is also very reasonably priced. Our bill was £50 for 3 of us including £5 for 2 wine glasses. This was for starters and mains (we were too full for pudding!). They also give you a free dish of tzatziki with warm pitta bread on your arrival. Will definitely return. Many thanks.

This restaurant is now known as Wood Oven. I'm eternally grateful for being introduced to the Wood Oven by my friend Dawn. She told me a lovely story of how they started off following closure of the previous pizzeria. With one side of the shop they were often packed out with customers. Eventually they expanded and purchased the other side and knocked through the wall. They still continue to be packed out and if you visit you'll see why. The food is amazing. I can particularly recommend the lamb chops and lamb ribs which I think must be their bestsellers. All the other food is fantastic. Your table will be greeted with tzatziki and pitta bread on the house - and best of all (for the likes of me) It's BYO. Corkage is £2.50. Prices are very very reasonable. Great for recession busting meals with friends, family or your better half ;) Perfect!

“Nice food, friendly service but annoying pushy waitress!” Wood Oven provides friendly service, tasty food and decent portions at a reasonable price; better then Efes, which we had visited 2 days prior and felt ripped off by Efes prices. Staff came over on several occasions to check we were ok, which was a nice touch. Downside was the pushy waitress named Nashir, (I think that was her name) who kept up selling to everyone and not in a nice suggestive or recommending manner. I ordered tap water with my meal as I don't like the taste of bottled water, she seemed to ignore me as tap water probably doesn't provide any revenue for them; she didn't bring anything for me to drink. I point this out because 2 ladies sat next to us, one ordered a coke cola only to be asked by Nashir, "you don't want wine"! (really Nashir) My friend noticed I didn't have a drink, got a bit annoyed and asked where my water was, a waiter brought bottled water. I had a few sips but my friend ended up drinking it, we had to pay for bottled water, so thank you very much for nothing Nashir. To top it all off, they don't take credit card, cash only, so had to go to the cash point machine. I normally tip well, but on this occasion because of the lack of service from Nashir and for not asking me if everything was ok and for not bringing me my drink, I didn't leave a tip. I know it's a minor thing but her whole mannerism and fake smile was so annoying. Overall a good meal with nice staff (except you Nashir) just a reminder for you, all your customers deserve good service, especially those that end up paying the damn bill!!!
