Reviews of Wright Brothers Borough Market
E. M.
I always have a great time here. Excellent oysters that are prepared well (and make sure to try the oyster shooters as well - they have a good bloody mary mix). The drinks are top notch - good wine selection and the best vesper martini I've ever had. Definitely a place to check out even if just for a pre-dinner to get some appetizers and drinks.
G. W.
Awesomely fresh seafood here. We devoured two dozen £1 oysters (Happy Hour 3pm to 6pm Mon - Thurs) and half a pint of perfectly cooked shell-on prawns, scallops with chorizo and butternut squash purée and an über-fresh sea bass ceviche with blueberries all washed down with a nice Cornish IPA and some good Picpoul and Gascogne Colombard. Sitting at the busy counter, we found the chefs very friendly and informative which elevated our experience. Service was good and very accommodating. Thoroughly recommended.

This is my second visit to a Wright Brothers branch and its always a pleasure. Customer service, atmosphere and overall experience is fantastic.
We had a mixture of seafood and they were all deliciously made and presented. thank you!!
A. A.
Amazing place with some of the most delicious oysters I've eaten recently and probably the best Bloody Mary ever! Highly recommended when you're around but don't forget to book as it gets crowded!
O. L.
One of the tastiest seafood restaurants I've ever been to. We ordered the Full House with chips & aoli, new potatoes and House soda bread. I preferred eating the Full house with chips, however all of the sides we ordered were still delicious.
The only issue I had was that me and my friend were sat at the bar which had very little space to come in and out of. It was quite awkward bumping into the family behind us. Other than that, I'd definitely recommend the food!
A. M.
Good variety on the menu, had oysters, sea bass ceviche and scallops, all really well cooked! Service was attentive, the waitress made sure when there is an uneven number of scallops to share, we had the option of adding one more.
S. C.
No doubt the food is wonderful. The only thing is I wished they seated us at a regular table even though we had reservations we were seated in a tight space where employees were constantly bumping into us to get in and out of the kitchen.
R. N.
Fab ambience at the counter, watching the chefs do their thing. Delightful quality food and drink, and excellent customer service. Relaxed yet well informed staff.
Food: Oysters, sea bass ceviche, Monkfish special, lemon posset, pistachio ice cream (to share).
Drink: Sancerre

I had a blast. One of the few places around the area I could find a table for two on a Wednesday evening. Been served well, and as expected the seafood was fresh and absolutely delicious. Good service and everything you’d expect from a place at this price point

Banging Oyster Shooter Bloody Mary to begin your Wright brothers experience.. it’s a must try ..
Located at the heart of Borough Market , Wright brothers is a must visit restaurant for locals and tourists who haven’t experienced eating at the Iconic Wright brothers restaurant. The oyster platter
Carlingford, Co. Louth, Ireland Cumbrae, Scotland Morecambe Bay, England
Is fresh, sweet and amazing .
Salt cod and brown crab croquettes another classic at the restaurant is a happy beginning
Spanish sea bass ceviche with blueberries and chilies was a mouthful of flavours .. though I would have loved a bit more acidity in the dressing .. but hey you can squeeze in a lemon and make your taste buds tingle
Whole roast sea bream & salsa verde is a great sharing option for 2 .
Don’t forget to order their dense chocolate crémeux with crème fraîche to finish your meal
I highly recommend Wright brothers borough market to experience the local produce of everything from the sea .

The Irish oyster happy hour offer is difficult to resist. Friendly staff. Fast service.
G. C.
An excellent time was had at Wright Brothers Borough.
I was sat at the bar furthest away from the entrance and the bar space could be considered tight if you are ordering several dishes so be wary of having it all come out at the same time.
Staff were excellent and also offering tips and best practice on how to get the most out of your oyster!
The price I felt was reasonable for what was ordered and the service was helpful and attentive.
I will definitely return for more seafood action!
M. M.
Had an amazing birthday lunch for my partner yesterday! Wow!!!!!
If you have not visited this place it is a must!
Food was fresh and cooked in front of you, staff were attentive and the chef and kitchen staff were great!
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
f. c.
First visit on Friday.food was amazing and we really enjoyed it.Thank you also for the service as well.
We discovered a new adress and will come back soon.
F. J.
Amazing seafood and equally good wine. The staff are very friendly. The best sea Bream I had. The oysters are equally amazing. The place is buzzing.
N. S.
Very good!! We had the fried oysters, the fried prawns, calamari, half pint of prawns, the grilled mackerel and it was all perfectly cooked and honestly I wouldn't expect anything else. This place is a well known for a reason. Go and try it if you haven't but remember to book it as its always busy.
A. P.
Good seafood and nice raw and cooked oysters options!
Always love Wright Brothers - also a big fan on Deliveroo. Service was great and the ambiance was lively!
The only star down is that it wasn't outstanding - the Strawberries on the Lemon posset could have been more fresh. The fish fillet was also alright. Next time we should probably go for the seafood platter.
At Wright Bros you kind of have to go all out or not come at all!
A. D. B.
We enjoyed a very nice lunch. Didn't make a booking yet the staff were very accommodating. Good range of oysters. Only criticism was that the crab risotto was a little overcooked for my liking. Overall a very pleasant experience.
V. D.
Super fresh oysters and chill vibe, definitely worth visiting whenever you are around the Borough Market area
a.
Best Oysters ever! Right off the market. Pretty busy but worth it for the Oysters.
S. M.
My go to place for oysters when in London. Fresh oysters and a great ambiance.
V. K.
A nice place with awesome ambience. The staff was sooo nice, we just stopped by without reservations but they found us a place to sit right at the bar. It was a bit crowded but we enjoyed it even more so. We ordered almost all the oysters from the menu and they were all just fantastic for a very fairly price. A week later we tried their other location in Battersea - had a different vibe and menu, but it was awesome too. This place near the Borough Market had its own charm though, we loved it soooo much!
V. K.
Good place to have some fresh fish and fresh oysters.
Have been going here for more than 10 years.
Would LOVE if you bring back ROCKAFELLAR oysters on the menu.
But its always a great place to have a great lunch or dinner.
J. L.
This is an authentic seafood specialist in the bustling Borough Market. I love visiting local markets. Borough market is no exception. Colourful varieties with full of energy. And this energy extends to the Wright Brothers. It's a cozy place, so must book ahead. After squeezed through group of casual drinkers, we got seats by the bar looking to kitchen area. See how the dishes are freshed prepared. We started with perfectly grilled scallops followed by shellfish platter which was served on bed of ice. I enjoyed the oysters so had to other another half dozen. We finished our meal with wholesome fish pie. Every dish were tasty. The bill came to £100 (incl. 2 glasses of wine) for two people. I fully enjoyed evening and will visit here again.
B. A.
We had heard a lot about Wright Brothers and in the end we left a bit disappointed.
The food was nice, no problems with anything but equally also had better experiences. The service was ok, although they looked very busy.
However; where we were sat was so cold, it’s annoying when you have to both wear your coat throughout your meal and definitely makes the experience less fun.
Probably wouldn’t go again.
S. M.
Very Fresh & delicious, Excellent food & Excellent service. Thank you too Martina who was serving us.***** Will be back very soon.
m. o.
Ordered full platter of seafood-very nice. Service is very good as well.
A.
Lovely food and atmosphere. No bs straight forward fresh tasting oysters. The brown crab croquettes and chorizo st jaques are delicious too. Nice selection of beers and wines. Nice staff. They also make a mean negroni.
D. W.
As usual food was great. We started with a mix of native Oysters, plus Japanese and Rockefeller. Followed by skate wing and fish pie. All very delicious. Service was excellent. A general busy but cosy vibe. Recommend sitting at the dining bar so you can watch them make the dishes.
C. M.
Excellent! Love the £1 oyster happy hour deal. Everything was delicious!!
J. H.
We were originally going to Oyster Shed but saw the very poor reviews so decided to go to Wright Brother, so glad we did the food was absolutely amazing and very reasonable. Colin the chef cooked my Crab to perfection as I'm Coeliac nothing was too much bother for him. We'll definitely be back next week for a further helping of very fresh and delicious Seafood.
C. C.
Come here because of it good reputation. A bit pricy. Oyster is very fresh. Overall nice seafood!
M. L.
The meal was very good. For me, the only downside were the high taxes and high chairs. I'm 5'2"" tall and 70 and getting into and out of the seat was a bit of a challenge.
M. L.
My colleagues and I had dinner here on a Sunday night. It wasn't too busy at 7pm and the three of us got seated right away. This place is a seafood restaurant focusing on shellfish. We had the Deluxe Platter and split it between the thee of us and its a lot of food. Shrimp, snails, oysters, clams, and mussels... Lots of everything and very good. Pairing all of this with some rose wine... A nice way to have dinner without veggies... I will need to make up for that at the next meal.
R. R.
The oysters were unsurprisingly good. But the real standout was my whole Dover sole. I’m often disappointed by over salted, overpoweringly lemon-y fish, that is drowned in a small container’s worth of butter... Here, they struck the perfect balance. Cooked to perfection.
C. M.
Seafoody heaven! Second visit managed to get the bar both occasions so you can chat with chef, they are so good here. Price maybe trumpy but we love it and if you are a seafoody too then you won't be disappointed.
p.
Had an absolutely fabulous lunch at wright brothers borough market, the seafood platter from the house was superb, the mackerel pate good and the turbot with clams outstanding. Service was outstanding. In all honesty, it’s that I got a timeout voucher that brought me there other wise would never gone here, but this place is great! Will come back.
S. C.
Just ate here at the counter, excellent food, Moules Marinere & Trout could not fault & great service. Negroni cocktail is lovely & also great wine choices
P.
Had such a great time with a friend. We sat just in front of the kitchen. The cook was very friendly and we chatted throughout the evening. Nice selection of wines. Oysters, crabs and shrimps were great!
H. P.
Best of the branches..but
Love the place usually but today it all felt a little bit Pete Tong.
Olive oil and fennel arrived with scallops rather than advertised garlic and butter. Not a big deal unless you don't really enjoy fennel and server dismisses it out of hand. Really felt let down but didn't make a scene. A bit sad to be honest
F. i.
Great great staff, food was exquisite. Fresh sea bream, well seasoned not overly done.
If you are not sure what to get, ask the staff they know their stuff!
Didn't want to drink, so the bartender made us a virgin cocktail. Great lad!
Not as cosy as the south ken location, but just as great.
Wright brothers you always seem to get it just right!.
A. C. C.
We went for lunch and it was a good experience, the staff was nice. I particularly liked the scallops and the "fish of the day". And the chocolate truffles were excellent, not too sweet.
F. A.
It was a special treat for san valentines, my girlfriend knows that I love oysters and definitely this is the right place if you love as well. Good selection of oysters very fresh I took the UK one and were delicious. The staff is very nice and friendly was lovely night. Just next to borough market I will definitely go back!
J. C. M. N.
Best crab I've every had in my entire life 🙌🏻
Although I'm not so much a seafood lover, but I never regret having lunch here at Wright Bros. we had crab, prawn, oyster and mussels, and they're all amazing👍🏻 Super fresh and everything taste amazing. The staffs are very nice and the environment is great. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.
s.
Lovely place if you like see food
I had 3 curse meal with a bottle of wine and it was great I want to thank all the staff tha where very helpful and friendly.
G. L.
Landed on a Sunday, and nothing opens on a Sunday near my hotel/office. I found this on Google Maps, and this place blew my expectations! Everything was well prepared, nothing was over seasoned, the grilled mackerel was extremely moist, and the muscles are the smaller, succulent ones (with the perfect broth). Had the fish pie, scallops, and raw oysters. All fantastic!
O. E.
So happy to be back! We also had crab arancini, amazing yellow fin tuna, a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and a couple of
Montenegro..but too busy enjoying so no pics of those😅
D. M.
Second visit to this restaurant and we came away happy again.
Not a lot of room inside on a busy evening and quite steep steps and a bit of a walk to the toilets but the food is excellent!
Only a few the tables are low with normal chairs, the rest are high long tables with high backed stools, so table of four will most probably be sharing with another table of four, but this was not an issue for us but those with younger children it may be worth requesting the lower tables.
The photo is of the seafood platter, there are three sizes and this is the biggest one.
C. F.
So. On a cold and windy day we take refuge in Wright Brothers, one of the best fish restaurants in London. Oyster mixed selection with a white burgundy to wash them down, and we are away. Fresh day boat catch of Sole for main course with clams and chili hits the spot, and happy to have this over a close second of steak and oyster pie.
Down to earth. Great staff. And fresh great tasting seafood. Not bad for a Friday afternoon.
V. S. P.
Borough Market starts at Wright Brothers where I have some of the best cooked oysters over the years l, large selection of beers and good vibes.
C. K.
Our second visit and well worth it. We were at the bar overlooking the kitchen which was fascinating. Food fab, esp the oysters! Would defo recommend. I was so enjoying eating, I forgot to take a 'before' photo so I can only offer an 'after' photo, delish!
J. S.
Being an Anthony Bourdain fan, I came here because 'Wright Brothers' was mentioned in the London episode of 'Parts Unknown' (there is however no footage in the episode of Bourdain actually visiting this place).
The interior is quite cosy but service was of the typical vendor style with a cynical undertone. I hardly sat down and someone of the staff asked me if I wanted water.
In some cultures offering water is complimentary, but here answering 'yes' will cost you £ 3,75 (plus service charge).
For the real 'drink' I ordered a glass of Processo (£ 7,50) and chose the 'rock selection' (see photo) which offered a nice selection of quality oysters (£ 18,50).
Be aware although the menu states £ 18.50 which seams reasonable, there will be a 12,5 % 'service charge' on everything you order. I finished the oysters with a Bloody Mary (see photo) with an extra oyster which came at £ 11 (but you still need to add the 'service charge'). And without asking they added £ 1 to the bill for 'charity' action against hunger.
The total bill with service charge added came in at £ 46,97 which is leaning towards expensive for 6 oysters, a glass of Prosecco and a Bloody Mary.
After all, you're not sitting at fancy dinner tables and in my case I was even sitting at the counter. Although the interior has a cosy vibe to it, upselling staff who try to make your bill more expensive, turns it down for me. Let this be a warning to tourists who are offered water the moment they sit down and don't forget to add the service charge (12,5 %) to the price next to the dishes. Even on the £ 1 involuntary added donation the 12,5 % service charge was added.
S. W. R.
Fun atmosphere, attentive staff, making the most of a bad covid situation. We had to ask twice for the £12/dozen oysters, but they fixed it immediately. Locals only happy hour knowledge?? 😀
M. R.
Amazingly fresh seafood and a great Bloody Mary!
C. W.
Oysters and seafood platters served by a team of caring and attentive staff
S. R.
Cosy and vibrant restaurant serving excellent fish and seafood (oysters highly recommended). Really good service. Well worth a visit.
V. L.
This is hands down one of my favourite seafood restaurants in London... and I love my seafood.
Everything is so fresh, the seafood variety is fantastic and the way the food is cooked is perfectly tasty and innovative. I particularly love what they’ve done with their oyster selection - have it raw, freshly shucked straight out of the sea, or have it baked, soy-based a la Japanese or cooked Rockefeller style.
The seafood platter (consisting of dressed crab, sweet prawns, clams, langoustines, a variety of other shellfish) is to die for, I order it each time I go back there.
And don’t get me started on the grilled fish — depending on what’s the catch of the day. I had a sea bass with a salsa verde sauce thing that was ridiculously delicious. The fish was first fried and then finished off in the oven, and it was still so moist and juicy.
The wine menu is also exhaustive so you’ll definitely be able to find a good bottle to pair perfectly with your meal.
It does get quite busy as it’s right in the heart of tourist central borough market so I would recommend making a reservation.

Can't beat half a pint of prawns and £1-a-pop oysters for a proper date with your city. Gorgeous daily specials as well.
J. R.
We come regularly to this place and have a fantastic meal. However, just disappointed today with the scallops which are advertised as cooked in garlic butter. Sadly, they were dressed in some kind of fennel dressing. Not to my taste at all. Our server wasnt really interested which is really unusual for Wright Brothers
E. D.
Absolutely loved the food! Great seafood and atmosphere - oysters are marvelous and so are there daily specials! Local vibe feel with excellent service. Pleasantly surprised.
A. P. S.
Wright Brothers is a favourite for those who love their seafood. The Borough Market branch is small and always busy. The service is mostly cheerful. On the last occasion we ordered the fish pie which was disappointing as tbe fish was drowned in mash potato. The bloody Mary vodka shots made up for it, plus the manageress was very helpful in dealing with our complaints on the pie.
S. M.
Best oysters in town, and the rest of the experience is also very well done.
L. T.
Great service and happy hour oysters £1 each!!
F. V.
Very very nice location fresh fish and kind staff...see you next time for sure!
R. L.
Great bar. Only stopped for drink but food looked amazing.
H. C.
Cute restaurant near borough market. Went on Easter Sunday and restaurant was quite busy, sat on the tables outside which was a bit squished and uncomfortable.
Ordered the seafood platter which was quite expensive for what you got however the oysters were delicious.
Had to ask for bread and water, service was okay but had to chase a few times for things, the servers were very friendly though.
L. F.
Simple menu - as you would expect from a seafood parlour. House platter was really good portion and enough for two - do need to make sure you have enough time to eat it though. Seafood was fresh. It was our fault we turned up at 7pm instead of 645pm and we were told 10mins before 845pm that the restaurant needs the table back. But staff was apologetic. Would have appreciated being told earlier or reminded at the start when we order so we can be more aware of the time. We could finish everything within 10mins and have to venture out in the cold to find a place for dessert to finish off our meal. Otherwise, love being sat at the bar area. Cosy atmosphere.
T. B.
Fab oysters and moules! Really loved it! Great service and atmosphere!
J. D.
Understated but fantastic. Great service and fantastic simple fish and seafood based dishes.

The special menu was excellent. The quality of the seafood is top-notch fresh.

Fantastic food and always wonderful service. Highly suggest to visit and try for yourselves.

Second visit to this restaurant and we came away happy again.
Not a lot of room inside on a busy evening and quite steep steps and a bit of a walk to the toilets but the food is excellent! …
J. L.
Had to wait for our table (we reserved but came slightly late due to London Bridge tube redirection) - but that was pleasant enough as there was a barrel outside available to wait with our drinks.
Oysters were great, we got a mixed selection, although probably used to getting more garnish (came with lemon wedge and vinegar).
Unfortunately after this, our food took an hour to get to us (starters), and we had to rush our mains because staff were spraying disinfectant and closing shop. Not sure what happened - assuming a kitchen error as it was not busy to have to wait an hour.
Beers and champagne were great, but margaritas were sweet (not sour) and made of orange not lime...
The staff were great but unfortunately not a great experience.
E. H.
Best birthday dinner ever! Beautifully fresh fish, interesting wine list, charming and attentive waiters.
J. D.
Understated but fantastic. Great service and fantastic simple fish and seafood based dishes.
A. N.
Fantastic atmosphere, great food and very reasonable price.
Y. F.
oh my goodness, the best oysters on a Friday afternoon you can find in London. The prawns are great as well and the smoked mackerel bun.
L. C. P.
The special menu was excellent. The quality of the seafood is top-notch fresh.
K. F.
We don't live in London but eat here whenever we visit. Love it.
M.
Ohhh myyyy.... the fish soup is to die for. Sorreh, the pic showed I completely finished it. Very comforting. And the mussels and the sole fish - fresh!
T. B.
Fab oysters and moules! Really loved it! Great service and atmosphere!
M. T.
We had a beautiful and delicious filling three course meal, wine last 08/07/21. The serve was absolutely amazing and perfect from start to finish. Our compliments the chef and the staff who served us.
E. H.
Best birthday dinner ever! Beautifully fresh fish, interesting wine list, charming and attentive waiters.

Fantastic food and always wonderful service. Highly suggest to visit and try for yourselves.

All food is excellent with the reasonable price.
T. S.
Lovely sea food, excellent service and wonderful service. Would definitely recommend and return. Our group had the oysters, sole and crab which was delicious and highly recommended.
A. D.
Excellent value Oysters during happy hour
P. S.
Pristine oysters and great service in this lovely setting
J. R.
Came from Texas. Searched raw oysters. Lovely setting and staff. Oysters were AMAZING!! Got two dozen house selection. Very fresh. England needs cocktail sauce though lol. Definitely want to visit again before I head back to the states !
B. R.
Fresh, tasty seafood right next to Borough Market. Friendly staff provide great service. Spend an hour wandering the market then go to Wrights for oysters and drinks.
H. T.
Quite a small space so social distancing is a bit tricky, but the bar area was actually very nice with the perspex screens, felt more private.
Food was lovely. We mainly went for the mussels, but would recommend the starters as well.
Only point is that there are no alcohol free beer options, but many of the patrons were happy having a wine over lunch!
T. V.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere. Good service also. Highly recommend for someone who likes seafood.
J. G.
Had an octopus;)
I enjoy it but was not outstanding. Good choice of wines
I will come back
J. A.
Friendly staff, wonderful and exciting setting. Some of the food is what you would expect humans to eat in a thousand years, but that's crustaceans for you.
J. S.
This is quite the spot.
Had a bit of a blow out celebrating our last day in London before heading back to Canada.
Make reservations via Open Table. The NA version of the app works.
We enjoyed 6 oysters for the appetizer (£19). They were excellent with great sides.
I had the whole soft shell crab (£27). My wife had the prawns (£19). Both meals were very good. The cook was perfect and lots of flavour.
We then shared a bottle of wine (£37) and desert with tea.
Throughout the whole, extended evening the service was great. They came by multiple times to fill water, ask how we were doing and offer advise for the shelling of the crab. We couldn’t have asked for more.
This was one of the most expensive meals of our lives, but we very much enjoyed it and would return. Although maybe chose some cheaper options!
Beware the tip is automatically added to the bill (12.5%).
All the food, bottle of wine, desert, tea, tip + tax: £120.
M. R.
Honestly highly recommended!!! The service, enthousiasm, knowledge of the waiter, cozy and then the main: quality is over the top :-) we’ll come back!
T. P.
Food is good but in a tight and loud space. Value for money isn't wonderful. Service is great.
A.
Came in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and loved it! The food was fantastic, in particular the Oysters were delicious. The service was really good, with an attentive waitress who made sure we had everything we needed. I really loved the decor inside and the nautical theme, it really worked. I'd highly recommend to any seafood fan.
j. w.
This place is very good. Simple and open cooking. The house oysters were not something to write home about. But if you have the money to spend then the choice of oysters from the board are excellent. In short I wouldn't recommend if your on a budget, as the experience at £30/40 a head is not worth it. But if price isn't an issue then it is excellent.
G. Y.
Haven’t tasted their food yet, but stopped by three times for their oyster shooters, quite delicious.
B. G.
Never thought I would eat a fish pie, but here we are, and yes, it's amazing.
J. W.
My partner and I came here to celebrate his birthday. We were met with very helpful and friendly staff. We sat right by the counter amidst the bustle of the restaurant and kitchen which is open plan so you're all there together in the same space.
The restaurant has such a wonderful feel to it - you can feel that the owner has wanted to keep the place authentic and they seem to focus heavily on perfection with each dish.
All the chef's looked so focussed and into what they were doing. The atmosphere is a wonderful part to this place as well as the food and drinks. Our food was delicious - the fish is incredible.
THANK YOU - highly recommend to fish lovers! This place know how to do it.
B. R.
Really enjoyed our visit on a very busy Saturday lunch time .
Service and food quality was exceptional.
s. g.
Excellent food and service, would definitely recommend booking as it gets busy.
We ordered the house platter, salted cod croquettes and the smoked cod roe and all were fantastic.
J. L.
5 stars! One star each for food, service, ambience, price and "Will I come back?"
Food - had oysters (Rockefeller) Good! Mussels - large pot. Very fresh and meaty. Broth at the bottom was so tasty and savoury.
Service - attentive and efficient!
Price - can't remember the oysters. The mussels were £20 for a large pot. Not bad.
Ambience - Sat at the bar, got to look at the guys behind the counter work. Overall, good view and seats.
"Will I come back?" Yes, please.
J. D.
Top notch seafood restaurant adjacent to Borough Market. Dishes vary by day depending upon what catch is available fresh. Excellent simple preparations, and also some really nice fancier dishes. Good cocktails too!
M. W.
Absolutely wonderful!
We get our seafood fix when we visit London each year from Florida. Every year we are treated to wonderful quality seafood. This year I mad a special request for a whole brill. Chef called to confirm he had our fish and how we would like it cooked.
3 days in London and we eat there again to night
2 dinners in 3 days - I think that says it all!
s. C.
Been many times to this amazing place.
Great atmosphere and service, and the best seafood and oysters.
M. C.
This place is cosy and has its own vibe. The food was fresh, and the drinks were delicious. Me and my partner went there to try the famous oysters. However, after misleading staff's recommendations we ended up ordering an overpriced plate 60% of which was some weird seafood we did not even eat.
I would recommend it, but make sure you don't get fooled by waitress who simply wants to upsell. Check the menu online in advance just to have the idea of what you are going to get. If you come there for oysters, be specific and don't order any platters , you will end up paying for seafood that has more shell than meat in it. Good luck!
A. L.
Small cozy venue but has real buzz about it. Tables you will share unless you are an 8. We were two and sit against the bar/kitchen so you can get to see chefs at work. Oysters are big thing for them but can't stand them so can't comment. I had dover sole and it was excellent. Fresh and cooked perfectly. Just make sure you book as always seems very busy past 7.30pm.
G. D.
Just had lunch at this lovely restaurant. Oysters were absolutely delicious! Service was superb, they do try their best given the fact that it is a packed establishment. We have dressed crab and mussels, everything was absolutely divine!
You must try their Bloody Mary with an oyster, it is to die for!
A. C.
Really nice atmosphere, not overly fancy nor too casual, perfect for when you want things to be bit more relaxed. Food was exceptional and out waiter was more than happy to give us food and drink recommendations which you don't often get these days! Had 2 drinks, 2 starters, a main and dessert for just over 75 with gratuity, not bad at all for this standard of dining!
J. Y.
Been going for 10 years. Love the ambience, fresh food, friendly staff, including chefs. And always enjoy the food, from seafood platters, to beef, Guiness and oyster pie, from fish soup to the simple presented oysters. We love it here.
B. S.
Lovely English Sparkling wine and wonderful king prawns. My friend had oysters, which are not really my thing so I had the prawns instead and I was really impressed with how sweet and delicious they were and a fairly generous portion too! Yum!
K. J.
Excellent experience for dinner on a recent Friday night. Three of us shared a House seafood platter and it was very generous for three people! Additionally, we each had a starter to ourselves over a few glasses of wine. Service was great and we can't wait to come back again!
S. B.
Lovely oysters,
A. S.
Outstanding “oyster shooters” - basically, a shot of bloody marry with an oyster inside. And a wonderful staff.
J. C.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Wright Brothers Borough Market. The food was fantastic. Really great flavours and the platters looked fantastic. My only small criticism is that the restaurant is quite small and i felt a little confined between the bar and the till area. But apart from that i would definitely say try Wright Brothers as the seafood is great.
N. F.
Love the food here. Oysters always fresh, menus always changing, always something that will surprise me. Love the oysters in a Guinness meat pot pie. Let's not forget the buzzing atmosphere and friendly counter staff, always hovering to see if we needed anything.
Have been coming back, and will continue to.
P. D.
I'd been eyeing up the fish pie for a while before finally getting my chance last night. I must say I was disappointed. It only seemed to contain salmon and was quite plain considering it was Borough Market and cost almost £20. The place was nice though and the staff were friendly. My mother enjoyed her meal so I didn't want to kick up a fuss but I expected a lot more for the price and location.
Also not only was 12.5% added to the bill for service but I was then asked if I'd like to leave a tip. I really dislike this trend of restaurants trying to leech as much money as they can from you. It's horrible.
M. A.
Great selection of oysters and other seafood with drinks to match. We got to sit at the back where we could see the chefs cooking and talk to them. It's also fun to sit out front and watch the people going about the market.
A. B.
This joint hums even on a Monday evening so it's better to have a reservation, and essential later in the week. The a la carte is supplemented by specials with some overlap. The service is friendly and attentive, You definitely need to book as its a busy place and for a good reason! Food is simply amazing!
A. C.
We stop here for a bit to eat and drink every time we visit.. great bar and atmosphere.
R. A.
One of my favourite places to eat in all of London. The staff are always very welcoming and the chefs are great to watch (and interact with) if you are lucky enough to get a kitchen view bar table (we always pre-book this view). Best for groups of 8 or less as the maximum table size is 8 but you could take over two tables. It gets very busy so I'd recommend booking. There's nothing on the menu that I would not recommend but the whole Cornish crab is a personal favourite though not for those without a certain amount of perseverance as it takes a lot of effort to eat (more than worth the effort in my opinion). The staff are very knowledgeable about their main stock of trade (oysters) and everybody from the connoisseur to the first timer will feel comfortable here. Oh and try the truffles! They are divine.
C. W.
Loved the food and service. The staff are attentive and extremely customer focused.
I'll definitely dine here again.
P. K.
Great little place, good food and friendly staff. Get a seat at the bar or at the counter facing the kitchen for a great experience. I've been back several times for the fish pie alone! Great wine list too. Highly recommended.
H. C.
Had the £1 oysters - what can you expect from a £1 oyster? It’s pretty much what it’s worth. Staff were friendly too.
S. G.
Second time here – genuinely friendly and efficient service and a good variety of delicious fish and seafood dishes, cold of hot 👌🏻 There are seats directly overlooking the kitchen where chefs are preparing your food right in front of you. Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
J. P. R. S.
Great selection of oysters and fish. Fresh, great quality, and well cooked.
B.
Great location and setting. Sat bar side and watched staff prep meals. Throughly enjoyed the experience along with my baked crab washed down with a small Guinness. My date polished off his scallops and we competed the afternoon with dessert and coffee x
P. F.
Located right at Borough market this small very oyster bar offers a modern take on sea food and more. We had backed oysters, backed crab and a fish soup, everything just excellent together with a beautiful Chablis. It doesn't get better.
M. S.
Had a lovely wedding anniversary dinner here. The staff were great, the fish was excellent & the complimentary glass of prosecco with a raspberry in it was just above & beyond! Highly recommended.
S. X.
lovely atmosphere and good oyster bar! Love the grilled monk fish, and prawn. The grilled cod fish we ordered was a little overcooked and dried up though. Overall really nice for friends gathering or a date. Still slightly pricey but i guess GBP 50-ish is the standard in the area for seafood.
L. B.
4.5 very good and friendly service, delicious food try the fish pie or Dover sole if you’re not into oysters. Quite cosy. Good wines. Nothing went wrong.
W. K. L.
Great little place by borough market. It's perpetually crowded so book in advance and get a bar seat by the kitchen. Lovely seafood. We had the dressed crabs, Atlantic prawns and sea bass. All lovely. Highly recommended.
J. R.
I often come here for a glass of wine when I come to Borough Market. There's a good vibe and the staff are very friendly. I haven't eaten here, but the food smells delicious. It does get busy after the market closes.
L. E.
Came in last Saturday afternoon as I was with my mother and she had never tried an oyster so I dared her. We got the Spanish oysters which came with a few little chorizo bites. She hated it! I liked the oysters, clean and fresh. The chorizo was okay. We also had squid and mussles. My squid was crispy and fresh. The mussels, in shallot and cream sauce, were also clean and fresh. Flavours a bit underwhelming and the 2 dishes we shared were under seasoned but I'd come back again to try more. On the expensive side. Great drinks available and service staff are nice enough. They all seemed to be thriving under the pressure of the busy service and enjoying it too. I'll be back.
C. C.
Been visinting for many years. Ambience is better than the food. Nice cocktails All around a decent place for the area. Does attract a troublesome crowd on the weekends, but its the area its in, to be expected. Azouz very good service and really nice shisha and mustafa was really friendly with us and the food was great and drinks was really good
E. A. C.
Not been in a while but always very good oysters. Hope the quality hasn't dropped since the opening of their Soho branch which was very disappointing. Great oysters and some nice hot dishes. Not easy for large groups (over 4). Ales very good!
K. C.
Good oysters, good Ray, good service and cosy atmosphere
J. D.
We had an excellent lunch. Service was friendly and informative - clearly the guys running the place are passionate about their food. Lunch time reservations are for 2 hrs, but we didn't feel pressured. We had oysters to start. Mains were fish pie and an excellent skate wing in Caper and black butter. Washed down with a couple glasses of petit Chablis (sadly this lacked the flinty edge I would expect and a little soft, but was a good quality wine nevertheless). Dessert was a dark chocolate mousse with salty caramel. I was going to have an expresso, but succumbed to the maitre d's suggestion of a great expresso cocktail with vodka and Khalua, shaken and served in a martini glass.
S. S.
Service was great, loved the Bloody Mary the asparagus dish was amazing and the oysters were extremely fresh
L. C.
Food it's nice service needs improvement (we asked for some extra bread which never arrived), staff is polite.
However £78 for a main consisting of scallops (literally 3 scallops, which costed £15), 3 oysters and 1 crab plus some bread and a tomatoe salad, half a litre of wine, it's too much. Also service charge is 12.5% (come on guys..!)
D. B.
LOVED IT! We had a seat at the bar facing the chef's. The food was exceptional, the service was terrific and they didn't push us out even when we were the only ones left! They also sang Happy Bday to me! Gorgoeus loved it all!
D. W.
Favorite spot to eat and watch the world go by when in Borough. Amazing selection of oysters. Always busy but well worth the wait. Good service and a well thought out menu.
M. W.
Fresh food, live kitchen action. Stunning
H. L.
The food I ordered was delicious. We didn’t have a table booked on a very busy Wednesday but they let us dine in there despite the place being easy and service was very good too
M. A.
Have visited this restaurant several times. Great food enjoyed in an ambiance of a vibrant city buzz. The staff are cheerful and knowledgeable of the produce and wines. A good all round experience.
B. L.
The best place to buy food in London. The fishmonger is fabulous.
M. T. G.
Food impeccable. I had the scallops. Beautiful. Wine selection wasn't massive but perfect. Nice bustling atmosphere for the tiny space. Will definitely be going back.
J.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great selection of oysters, including specials. Good sparkling wine options but could do with a few more craft beer options.
A. T.
We love this place. It has a great feel, the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly and the food is superb. If you like seafood this is a must.
J. M.
Lovely fish diner in borough market. If you're lucky you get to see food prepared infront of you. Busy between 12-2.30 but ok after that. Really enjoyed fish platter. Well worth a visit .
R. F.
What a treat. A whole filet of salmon and another of smoked haddock nestled in cream and topped with crispy mashed potatoes. The perfectly lunch for a late Autumn day in London. Stop by and get one of London's best kept secrets on your hook! We came for a leisurely business lunch and split a carafe of Sauvignon Blanc and eat had the fish pie.
D. B.
Great place - personal favourite fact is you can feel almost like you're in the kitchen if you sit near the back at the bar stools - got into a good chat with a chef. Knowledgeable staff, good food, good location and atmosphere.
C. S.
Fantastic sea food. I really enjoyed the scallops.
H. R.
Great food, great service, and great location. I highly recommend the Beef, Guinness, and Oyster pie.
Some items on the menu are not worth the price, like the king scallop plate.
e.
a really sweet cozy place, service was excellent and if you like seafood, there is a good choice of dishes, recomend it. we sat at the back by the kitchen on our anniversary before going to theater.and really enjoyed it.
r.
Even if we had reserved a table you probably end up be seated at the bar. Do not order half a bottle of wine if you want to know if it is really the wine you pay for. The wine is served in a caraf so could be any wine from the tap. Overpriced 27 pound for cold crab !
K. T.
Oyster are super
J. C.
Great location, friendly staff, it was a busy Friday night so we had to wait for a while for our table. Oysters and champagne were the best
P. T.
Fish restaurant and bar. Food is of good quality and good value. Wine list is grossly overpriced but the same can be said of many similar establishments in the area. Ambiance and service could be discribed as 'busy'.
M. L.
Definitely a great atmosphere, the beer is the best I have tasted in London, I like very much the attitude with which you are attended by waiters, in addition to the fact that the food is very tasty, it is totally well worth coming to this place!
刘.
You can never guarantee to get in on a busy Saturday afternoon but we tried our chances and hit the jack-pot: two places at the bar, checking out the chefs for extra entertainment. The selection of oysters was astounding and we chose the New Orleans variety which came with a dollop of the yummiest fresh tartare sauce I have tasted...
J. C.
An excellent seafood lunch. It's been a while since I was in Borough Market, but looking forward to going again soon!
J. L.
I've been coming here since 2007 and it never disappoints. Food is not complicated, so you can appreciate how good is the fish that they serve. Often the simplest dishes that they serve you will like the best.
A. K.
Full Review on WineJam YouTube but a couple of seating outside and pleasent staff I think the wines could have better wine preservation system. But it a popular place with a good atmosphere.
J. J.
I stopped here spontaneously for a bite to eat and stood out front on a barrel table. I had Spanish Oysters - served with Chorizo, and the taramasalata and pickled cucumber which is one of the tastiest things I have eaten in recent memory.
S. C.
there are no alcohol free beer options, but many of the patrons were happy having a wine
L. O.
Just had a lovely evening supper at Wright Bros, in Borough Market ...Here at Bankside for a long weekend , we popped into Wright Bros for drinks on Fri evening when it was incredibly busy. However, tonight, after a full on weekend , just needed to have a supper rather than a full.on meal , so returned back.... What a great desicion... Shared the home made mackerel pate , devilled whitebait and tomato salad quality and taste of all these fresh ingredients was suburb, only matched by the service and welcome, will definitely pop by again when next in London
C. D.
Had my anniversary here and the food was scrumptious, it can be a bit on the pricier side by it's worth the visit and also your taste buds won't regret it. The atmosphere and staff are friendly and helpful, recommend !
V. M.
Great place to eat and visit.
L. G.
Very fresh and nice fish along with a perfect service.
I strongly recommend this place for the pleasure you'll have from the starters to the dessert.
V. D.
Good food. Good wine. Good atmosphere. I'll definitely eat there again.
N. W.
Always outstanding. Nothing else to say - thank you!
K. H.
Stunning food and a wonderful atmosphere. Staff are friendly and extremely efficient.
C. H.
This place is always busy and when I eventually got in there I could see why. It was great, lovely food and drink in a very nice venue. Good for small groups for some evening food. Try some of the seafood for a special evening out.
J. O.
Make sure you try and get Michael as your waiter and grab a seat on the street It is the perfect spot to try oysters. Michael talked us through our choice and we started with rockafella to warm us up and then moved onto 3 irish oysters, with a bottle of house wine and the sun shining this is the perfect spot to enjoy the energy of the market. Thank you
M. N.
Love this place
Thanks for the fantastic Morecambe Bay oysters as always. Staff always kind and helpful and a generous regular customer discount always brings me back
K. L.
Fantastic oysters, small but well selected range of beers and a small, cosy dining space. Staff are quick, attentive and chatty. Very nice place for a relaxed date
S. P.
Amazing seafood very busy. Small place so if going for dinner call first. Good selection of wines and also amazing coffee.
G. K.
A great spot for a pint of stout and some white bait. Dive in and grab some mackerel Pate and enjoy the buzz as the traders from the market come by to unwind after a long day. During the summer the Barrels outside are perfect for people watching. Highly recommended
N. C.
Took my wife here for a birthday late lunch and she and I loved it. Food is top notch, especially the oysters and it has a very nice laid back vibe. Cant wait to go back!
M. H.
Beautiful seafood dishes, the freshest oysters and a great wine list - a firm favourite for date nights!
K.
Love the oyster Happy Hour.
J. R.
A treat and a hlf of the local delicacy oysters. This was the first time I have tried to eat these but will revisit again very soon. the service was excellent even if a little cosy but everyone was eager to please. A fine glass of Sancerre was well received
T. B.
love oyster ?! not sure where to go ?! then this is the place you should come !
with different range of the oyster you can choose and like in paris a glass of bubbling with oyster !! best way to enjoy your saturday afternoon with sunny weather , if you are hungry they also have market fish of the day and various choice of seafood that will fully fill your tummy !
K. L.
Absolutely fabulous food and customer service. Perfect spot for people watching. Would highly recommend.
T. B.
Every time I'm in London I try to get a chance to go to Wright Brothers.
Great food - atmosphere - wine list - oysters - service.
Its busy so book or expect to wait :)
J. H.
First time eating a platter of seafood and I didn't disappoint, great food and service and it has a great ambiance. Will be back soon
C. W.
Always impressive. Oysters are the pick for me although the lobster did look good.
A. T.
Amazing seafood, some of the best in London. Very intimate while also bustling. Great service and very reasonably priced. Just great all round.
H. C.
Great atmosphere, great food. I've been again and again. If a party of two, i would recommend reserving a seat at the bar; its hot but its where the action is.
A. M.
Great selection of fresh oysters and other seafood in a cramped restaurant. Not cheap, but fresh seafood. Slowish service. Good wine list
J. S.
This is a great place to have oysters and sea food. I don’t think I will visit London without making a stop at this great restaurant. Love their food and ambience. Give you A+ score.
p. w.
Amazing selection of seafood. Great, lively location and friendly service.
S.
My go-to fish restaurant in Borough Market - i love how they own the entire supply chain. It can get a little busy, but never a long wait
M. P.
If you love seafood this is a hit 😋
j. c.
youll find wright brothers oyster & porter house just by borough market, its all about fish, oysters and all the seefood in the ocean, i had been there many times and always here is a great atmosphere... my favourite is the pint of cooked prawns, that always have it with a chilled bottle of white wine
G. B.
This is the perfect place to get some fish - the restaurant is lovely and there are lots of people eating here all the time so there is no chance of stale food. Recommended with both hands.
D. M.
A true taste of the sea. Great service. The freshest, tastiest oysters you can find in London. Good venue for a cosy date!
C. G.
Loved my half pint prawns and clams! Small, packed and busy but great seafood!!
L. L.
Cosy, close seating, very helpful staff, tasty food and good drinks. Reasonable price for oysters and fresh seafood (light meals from £8).
J. H.
Excellent service, great oysters and beautiful wine. Arrive early or try and book a table to be sure of a seat.
W. S.
Excellent food and drinks. Sitting overlooking the kitchen was a fantastic bonus that was just brilliant. Couldn't rate the place more highly.
B. H.
We popped in for some oysters and nice porter, and did not get disappointed. Real fresh food, excellent for lunch, no wonder it is all that busy!
D. G.
Great selection of oysters and a good range of seafood. Prawns and crabs were also particularly tasty.
J. K.
Incredible sea food. And a small, homely feel. Just wow. What an experience. The platters are immense mountains of underwater delight.
M. v. A.
The Fruits de Mer platter is quite spectacular. Slightly arduous when you get to all the little tricky snail-like creatures, but worth the effort.
Small, cozy, and sophisticated.
A. J.
Small, cosy, busy and very welcoming. Great atmosphere and service with brilliant staff and the food was to die for.
Truly worth a visit.
N. W.
Very good food. I would recommend the Spanish Oysters. I just bought 3 of them and it costs about £2 per oyster.

Bit pricey - that's trendy Borough Market for you.
K. C.
Excellent food as always and fantastic service from Heather.
S. T.
Oysters and champagne on a barrel, market-side, people watching (other food stuffs available).
If that ticks some boxes you should probably stop here for at least 1 bottle.
a. h.
Cosy, excellent service, amazing oyster selection. I’d avoid the octopus carpaccio though as it contains more potatoes than octopus, very disappointing....
M. D.
Great spot to pop in for prosecco and oysters after the Tate Modern. Lovely atmosphere, nice service, tasty food.
D. L.
Great place, not for meat lovers though. Atomosphere fantastic, always buzzing and very very busy Must book in advance or you could have a long wait.
T. G.
Oysters are truly something special. Highly recommend steak and oyster pie with new potatoes.
H. J.
excellent food and outstanding sea food...oysters and Tiger Prawns were fantastic. .mussels were out of this world and nice spicy flavor..
