I ordered from here 4 days in a roll. Everything I’ve ordered was excellent. The lamb is so tender and flavorful. Aubergine dish was sooo delicious. There is no holes on the menu.

Have been wanting to go here for ages and finally did so last Saturday. Was pretty busy but it was a good atmosphere and the excellent staff were very attentive and efficient. Our only slight quibble was the fact that our mains came out about 5 minutes after our starters had arrived which was a bit strange but I must say the quality of our food was excellent and this is definitely right up there with the best restaurants in the area. Was also very good value for money.

Well goodness me...... what an unexpected oasis. For a start, this place is like the Tardis. You walk into a small, unassuming shopfront and it opens out into a deep and rather lovely restaurant that is quite a bit bigger than you might expect. The menu has everything that you would hope for in an Eastern Mediterranean restaurant so no big surprises there. But the whole package manages to be more than the sum of its parts.. The meat was all tender and moist and had clearly just been cooked. No stuff left over from an earlier order that's all dried out. The salad, rice and bulgar were delicious and fresh too. The portions are generous enough to make you feel a bit spoiled without being overwhelming. The humus, olives and flat bread were all excellent too. Finally, the staff are super helpful. We got there late and we were warned that the kitchen would be closing in 20 minutes. Our orders were taken promptly and we never felt rushed. The staff were warm and welcoming and happy to explain bits of the menu.Thank you. We'll be back!

We loved the ambience. Walked here from Claire Parkafter a tennis practice. Very nice! We had a Turkish coffee, cappuccino, and some mezzes like hummus and falafel! Very pleasant experience after our practice!

Amazing choice. his is definitely the gem of all Turkish restaurants I’ve visited on my travels in the UK. The entrance is grand, decorated in Turkish emblems. It is bright and managed by belt and braced, humble and relaxed staff. The restaurant is huge and extends deeply past the kitchen and Turkish themed seating areas. The menu offers loads of choice, with great options for couples and groups. I went slightly off piste and ordered a few hot and cold mezzes, main and dessert. Take note of the staff’s recommendations; the ox tongue starter and lamb shank main were sumptuous. The latter was taken to another level of taste satisfaction with the addition of their chilli based sauce. Full and content I’d happily return and try some of the other great choices the Gem of Kent has to offer.

One of my most favourite restaurants in Maidstone! My pictures do not do the food justice. Gem of Kent is great for big groups as they have loads of space! There are many choices on the menu, everyone will find something to their liking! Have been here four times and will come back many many more times!!

Simply the best Kebabs you will ever have. It is quite expensive, but you are paying for the quality lamb cuts and lovely marinated meat. Takeaway and eat in the restaurant. Brilliant, you must try.

Top class food and service. From the moment we got there we were looked after. We were not rushed either which seems to happen in a lot of restaurants these days. It was fathers day so quite busy. The staff dealt with this easily. Definately a keeper.

Good food and not that badly priced. Came here with the whole family; 5 adults and two children. The total bill came to £160, which isn't too bad. My only gripe is that if the set menu is chosen, everyone has to have the set menu and not just an individual. This is the reason for 3 stars.

Dining with large family party with age range from 8-95. Restaurant busy and service very slow. Very noisy and table not cleared. Other tables served as priority and it wasn’t until we complained that dessert was finally offered. Too late by that stage as we were ready to go! Owner refused to knock anything off bill for desserts so what had been a pleasant experience food wise was spoilt by poor customer service. Will not return for this reason.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and have never been disappointed. The food is EXCELLENT. The set menu is very good value and is 3 good portioned courses. There is also an option to have as much wine and beer as you can drink in 2 hours. The only downside is, when the restaurant is full it can be quite noisy, booking also necessary for weekend evenings to be sure of getting in.

It has to be one of the best Turkish restaurants in the south east. The staff are always very friendly and helpful when it comes to dietary requirements. The food is incredible it takes me back to when I was living in Turkey. I am always spoilt for choice by the large range of food.

The food was delicious, we were a large group so we had to choose from the set menu but it was fantastic, super tasty, big thank you to the chefs! Cannot fault the quality of food at all! When we arrived however the FOH staff let the experience down, we were ignored, they were rude, offish and unhelpful. It appeared that the owner arrived halfway through our meal and they then all decided to be polite and actually to their job. It's a real shame that this happened because if the staff had just smiled and been more helpful it would have been a 5/5 easily!

Arrived 30 mins early to a almost packed restaurant, they still accommodated us with a smile. Absolutely amazing. We were out and about Kent for the May bank holiday weekend and wanted something different and vegetarian. Cannot recommend this place enough! Having servers food allergies including gluten and garlic, Gem of Kent are always so accommodating! I email ahead to request what I'd like and they ensure it's not pre marinaded in anything I can't have. The food is absolutely incredible, amazing mezzes, brilliant atmosphere, great wine and excellent service. It's also a brilliant price! It's become my go to for nights with friends and colleagues - 100% recommend!

Food was very good and service wad quite quick however, this is our second visit and both times the restaurant is far too loud. It has more of a school canteen atmosphere as opposed to a quality restaurant. The problem seems to be that they squeeze in far too many tables and are more concerned with the ammount of "bums on seats". Unfortunately this has a negative effect on it being somewhere for a lovely meal. It does feel a lot more like quatity or quality, which is really rather sad cosidering the food is really very good.

Wow, what a surprise! Going to a Turkish restaurant in Maidstone didn't sound very exciting to me - I live in Berlin, one of the biggest Turkish cities outside of Turkey and I am surrounded by Turkish food. We ordered the meat platter for two and got everything one could think of - and plenty of it. The meat came right from the charcoal grill, tasted fantastic and was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered a vegetarian aubergine dish which was equally good. Don't forget to order a selection of starters - actually you could probably just eat starters and skip the main :-) Atmosphere - well, nothing to write home about but it's a minor flaw :-) Can't wait to go there again when I am back on the little island.

One of the best restaurants in Maidstone. I love the Hummus and Patlican Soslu, so delicious! If you're going on a Friday or Saturday evening you may want to book. Also, on the busy evenings it can be very loud inside due to large parties, can sometimes be hard to hear other people talking! But the food is worth it!
