S.One of the best take away fish&chips place you can imagine!
I had cod large, just delicious. The fish is not oily deep fried, the thin but crispy batter layer just looks in golden colour. When you bite it you can feel the balance of the salt and vinegar. The mush peas is ever so consistence as well, not too watery but not too dry either ! Would definitely go back.
D. M.Had really good take away fish and chips from Anchors the other day with family. Fish was really well cooked, I opted for the sweet potato fries, very good too. Had a kind of rustic feel to the place, and friendly staff - a cut above your usual chippy I would say.
n. a.This chippy was amazing! I had a chip barm and a gravy with some chips and it was very delectable. My father had a cod, chips and curry sauce and my goodness that fish was massive! It just fit the container and was so crispy. 4/5 Definetly my number 1 choice if I come to the area again.
a. j.great food great service however it does have 3 cons which made it a 7.5/10 for me
con:1 chips were not cooked for long enough and were in honesty a bit soggy con:2 curry sauce was very runny and rendered it hard to dip in chips as it all just ran off the chip by the time it met the mouth. con:3 the price was a little bit more than what other chip shops do for the deal provided maybe if it was a pound cheaper then the score would be higher
overall it was a great experience the area and the style of the place was excellent i personally loved the very slight urban styling would recommend to friends and family
J. A.This place was always my local Chippy when I lived in Didsbury, it has remained consistent in quality since it first opened. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. Fair warning this is not the cheapest chippy in the area, but the quality is good, there is a decent range of menu options and the portion sizes are very generous.
