Very rowdy and noisy. If you like that sort of thing then it's for you. Indoor and outdoor seating. Very limited drinks. You can only order in bulk, meaning a jug. So if you are on a drinking session and you want drink after drink then the jug is for you.

Surprising well organised and efficient service on a bank holiday weekend. Other places had mile long queues, the staff were friendly and everything we ordered came quickly. 5 star food and drinks, we will definitely be back!

Brilliant venue. Went for a Christmas works night out and paid for the wedding package, and could not have asked for a better night. The suite does not realistically accommodate 100 people as advertised, but for us it was comfortable (we had 65 booked in). It was well prices and the food was really good - dont be out off that it's advertised as buffet food...it is, but its really good. Would definitely recommend the photo booth as it was great fun. We did not pay for the DJ and it was not needed as music was playing anyway. Highly recommend.

So this is a fab bar come rain or shine, the team work hard. With many function areas for people and events it’s a great spot in the city! As well as me being the dj here, so obviously the music is great haha it’s a great venue good location, parking is a tad tricky but not impossible. We attended a wedding reception here. The staff hosting the event were amazing. The space was great. Only downfall was they had to close the doors at 10:00PM and it got VERY hot in the room. Can't wait to visit again!

. Too long waiting for drinks to be made. Getting served wasn't an issue the bar staff had to use a recipe book to make the cocktails. 2 new staff on a Friday night just made everything run slowly. I know everyone has to learn but I spent 15 minutes waiting for cocktails to be made on each occasion I went to the bar. The third drink I got was a bottle. Food was served with no cutlery and I couldn't find any,no way was I going back to the bar and waiting. So I ate the salad with my hands. Atmosphere was decent though. Just lost attention to detail and in an amazing city like Manchester with so many places to go I would never go back there. Door staff very friendly and polite, opening doors for you.

I visited Barca to photograph a private company event and they had hired out the top floor and terrace/balcony. I have to say this is a great location for a party and would recommend this to anyone. Great location close to other bars. If driving parking is tricky especially if there's an event as Castle field Bowl but we've managed it both times

Celebrated our son's 21st birthday here on Friday 21st July 2017. Hired the Catalan room, gorgeous room. Food was excellent, all the staff catered for our every need. Couldn't fault the evening, the whole event was perfect. Would highly recommend. A big thank you to Jade, Harry, Faye and Daniel.

Such a lovely atmosphere here, inside and out. Really wonderful for a romantic date-the view of the canal outside is so peaceful (though it’s bustling...a walking/bike path runs right through it), so if you enjoy people watching it’s your place. Great coffeeshop-style music. Food was asi-asi and not anything promised by its name, which suggests Spanish cuisine. Very few vegan friendly options. Just a couple revised dishes. I had the veganized Ploughman’s sandwich. Pretty just a few veggies on white (read that: nearly Wonder) sandwich bread with shredded vegan cheese. I would’ve gone with sliced cheese, but... My hubs went with pizza, which was particularly delicious!! Good attempt at vegan, but more a strong standard fare joint. Beer was ok...not fab. But again...the ambience inside and out was perfection! Go there for drinks and apps!!

Held my fiance's birthday party at Barca on Sunday and i have to say they did a wonderful job! The venue was excellent. (I've been there in the summer months too which is beautiful experience with the outside seating area and location.) A lot of our guests didnt know about Barca but do now and said they would definitely go again. Jade the events manager did a great job organising things for me and putting up with my last minute changes. Harry and the team did a wonderful job on the day tending to our every need and making sure the day went smoothly. They made me relax and enjoy the day. The chef(s) did amazing with the hot buffet which went down extremely well and was commented on by a number of the guests. It was delicious! Jane the lady who did the balloons did a lovely job, just the right number, perfect colours and at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend Barca to anyone wanting to hold any type of special event. Thank you to all the team. Xx

Lovely food on the whole but think the salt and pepper chicken were warm ups from last night. Maybe the Patatas bravas too. We’ve had them here before and they were nicer then. Still, the staff are lovely as are the surroundings but, you know, if you disappoint even one customer when you needn’t have, then it’s not quite good enough.

Seems like a great venue. Lots of bar staff, great outside area with views of the canal. Recently refurbished inside and looks pretty good. Just a shame it's Manchester and the beer is £5 a pint, plus no real ales. They do have pimms, but that's £8 a pint!

Loved it here. We went to a friends 40th and he had the VIP room, sat outside on the balcony which was lovely as it was a lovely night and had great views. Its a pity we had to go inside at 10.30 yet the rooms below they could stand outside. Nice selection of drinks, i love gin and found a new gin, i had the rhubarb gin and it was morish. Would recommend it here and also other places on the wharf its a lovely venue

Very very busy in the summer, but a great location overlooking the canals and under the railways. Outside bar is very good and takes cards, but don't expect them to have the same selection of beers etc that they do inside. Still highly recommended

Great outdoor space for a day with good weather. Iniadenis more like a fans place as very often the sound is out on the rugby game and is pretty loud. Food is not bad but nothing special.

Love this bar, my friend hired a private room here for her baby shower and it was beautiful, it has huge chandeliers, newly decorated with a separate bar and out door area connected to the private room. The staff were helpful and polite too.

Lovely place to be on a sunny day. Trendy area where mancunians love to go for cocktails. Lovely views from the canal. There were 2 staff at the bar outside who were not very helpful so I had to go inside to be attended. Coctails are nice and reasonable. We paid £12 for 2 mojitos. Atmosphere was lovely.

Who these guys are writing the reviews of barca since its impressive refurbishment must be in competition with them because it's not what I experienced today. The place looks like it's had a fortune spent on it, marble tables , white leather seating and fantastic staff who made me most welcome, and the food was cooked to perfection and in keeping with the average prices on casylefeild. Barca is a perfect little bar to sit and enjoy the sun in Castlefield. As well as a large terrace outside there's an upstairs balcony to sit and look over the army of geese down in the canal. They used to do 1 pound jäger bombs which was always a fun way to start a Friday session for anyone working in the area. Always lively and worth a visit for a few drinks

Its a really good alternative to Dukes when the sun is shining. Barca has a nice beer garden with plenty of space, its a really great place to go when the surrounding bars are far too overcrowded especially if there is a big group of people

The place is wide, beautiful and comfortable. Still the food should be improved a bit and the service as well. The toilets are located on the ground floor so it is not wheelchair accessible.
