Just stopped here today to by some lunch. New owners here now, not the original Charlie but the food is still very good. The place is even cleaner, probably the cleanest pie and fish display cabinet I have seen in any chip shop. Would have given 5 stars but the chips need to be a little crisper on the outside for my taste, and needs more salt and vinegar if asked for.

5 stars for the fish n chips! 1 star for the service. The new owners have certainly kept the standards high of this lil awesome place however, the customer service is shabby. Not forgetting to mention the little Asian lad who has zero customer service skills and a rude temperament towards people. Otherwise, the owner seems very nice. Enjoy x

Positivity all around this chippy. I can see why it is voted 4th best chippy in Manchester. Amazing, generous and polite staff. Wheelchair accessibility if needed around the back. Parking is great as many people park in the proper Eden Square car park so the car park next to Charlie's Chippy is wonderful, free and open to anyone. It has disabled parking spots aswell for people. 5 out of 5.

I travel all the way from SALE to get the best Fish n Chips in this side of Manchester. As the fish os white, fresh flavour a flaky. The chips chunk and well fried. Highly recomend it.

Been eating chips from Charlie’s since I was a toddler. Love the way the new owners have kept the great service going. Even when they’re busy and I ask for my chips to be cooked longer because I like them crispy they do it with a smile. Thanks guys 👏

This has to be the Very Best chippy in Urmston and possibly Manchester. The fish and the chips are cooked to perfection. The fish is so tasty I absolutely love it, the batter is perfect nice and crispy no soggy bits. The chips are cooked in a good oil and they are always fresh tasting. You are served fish chips in a box with a carton of peas inside. I have never had a bad meal since the New owners have taken over. Everything I have had has always been freshly cooked from pies, sausages etc and they have 3 types of curry. The portion sizes are big sometimes I struggle to eat the full meal but I force myself because it’s so tasty. I have given them maximum 5 stars but I wish I could of given the 10/10

I have been going to this chip shop for years, I love Charlie he’s a lovely guy, however sinse a change of management, the staff hired are not great , the young guy is lovely some of the ladies not so much .. how can I tell you what I want if you are talking over me at lightening speed? We got fish, chips peas and chinese curry X 2 tonight, the chips peas and curry were good but the fish was very greasy and the batter wasn't cooked inside, the batter was raw and white and the fish was very dry. We're really dissatisfied as we read all the reviews and expected a really good meal, very very disappointed, was expecting more. Charlie's fish and chips, thank you for your quick response, and kind offer its much appreciated, will call in next week for our meals, once again thank you for your time in helping us. Thanks Fiona for sorting this out for us, the pudding, chips, peas and gravy were spot on. Will definitely be calling again, really nice.

Always said I wouldn't get fish and chips from here again as last year it was absolutely appalling, really small size fish, chips and tasteless, so lost my custom. However, thought give it a go as heard it was under new management and was recommended. All I can say is that they were fantastic! Best so far. Been back again since and not been disappointed. Fresh, tasty and great portions - delicious!

Not had food from here in ages...and it was so, so good. After a cold and muddy walk in the morning, this was everything I needed. Chips were well cooked. And the fish! Soft, flaky, tasty and the batter was exceptional. Awesome. I am well happy now!

Great fish and chips from a nice little independent place. I'm going to try getting there a bit earlier as all the large fish were sold out. The small fish were still a decent size but it's the start of the site so you want plenty of it if you can. The must peas were a little more like soup than I go for but still had plenty of flavour and weren't too salty.

This shop has always been good. Now it is under new management. My last purchase was good except the chips seemed a little underdone. Also, using trays is a no no for me. They make the chips soggy. Please use paper as before.

Food is over all really tasty, although I’m not impressed with one particular member of staff! A female with brown hair and green streaks through it... the way she talked down to another member of staff really annoyed me and my partner and I’m guessing most customers in there judging by the look on their faces. She had asked a question of which a young lad had replied, she then went on to ask him to shout his name out, when another lad replied that their voices sounded nothing alike she went on to say ‘you all sound like little teenage boys to me’. The tone of voice used and what she had actually said had clearly annoyed the lads and us customers, she may have been a manager or acting manager that day but you do NOT speak to your staff that way, especially in front of customers, you are supposed to work as a team! The girl clearly felt the need on a couple of occasions to show who was boss but instead she made herself look like a fool. I’d have liked to have said something but given the attitude she had I doubt it would have ended peacefully. To watch so many young lads working hard trying to earn minimal pennies to then be spoken down to by a girl on a power trip is frustrating, we should be rewarding teenagers for their efforts not tearing them down!
