Best Jamaican in the Northwest so far!
Jerk chicken falls of the bones, the skin is just devine! Portions are generous too!
Must try their curry goat, dumplings and the delicious Guinness punch!
L. S.
The food is phenomenal! Curried mutton (goat) and rice and peas....just delicious! Fried dumplings were on point! And the lady owner/server was an absolute diamond, so polite and friendly. Will come back every time we visit Manchester. Real hidden gem 💎

Delicious food! Made with a smile and perfect on a sunny day. Curry goat, akee and saltfish, dumplings and Guiness punch was all top notch and served by the loveliest person. If I'm ever back in Manchester I'll be sure to come again

Good authentic Caribbean spot not far from the city centre. Quick and pleasant service. Curry goat was amazing and 10/10 for the steamed vegetables. Oxtails were good. Quality meat used and cooked well but I felt they were lacking that flavour I'm used to. Would love to have tried more if I had more time in the city.

Found this gem on my way home on Google maps. Easily the best Jamaican food in Manchester city centre! Amazing taste, big portions, affordable price. I recommend.

Doesn't look anything special when you go in, but the food is awesome! Best mutton curry I can remember having in a long time. Also, lovely, friendly people working there. Will look forward to returning on my next trip to Manchester.

This is hands down THE BEST Jamaican takeaway in Manchester. Their oxtail is delicious and you must try their amazing jerk chicken. What a wonderful family run business, Marion and Dean are such a lovely couple and Im grateful for their little gem of a food place in the northern quarter. Their food is wholesome, warming and filled with love! Definitely worth a visit

Hidden Gem. Unreal food, this place blows its trendy rivals out the water. The meat is always so tender and the depth of flavour is off the charts. Curry goat / oxtail is 11/10. Honestly inspired me to start cooking these classic dishes myself.

Yummy yum!! Proper home cooked jamaican food. Big tasty portion...delish steamed veg, divine coleslaw... spicy gravy and juicy chicken. Owner super friendly...Maybe I could pay him for a cooking master class!!

The portion size was perfect, lots of meat with the curry mutton (which was so soft it fell apart) and the whole meal was very tasty. The lady who served was also lovely, overall a great experience :-)

Came here yesterday, amazing food! Full of flavour and cooked perfectly, the curry goat was so tender and no bones! Love it, will be coming here again.

Absolute hidden gem and a place I can't believe doesn't get more attention. The food is always excellent, tasty and portion sizes are big.
Service is always friendly, I cannot recommend this place enough, I have eaten a number of items on the menu and its always amazing!

Super friendly staff and the food is amazing! This is an authentic 🇯🇲 spot so pass the gentrified restaurant opposite and come into here.

Just had Jerk Chicken from Eat & Sweet and it is AMAZING! A MUST TRY for sure.

Our staff enjoyed a fantastic sample of Carribbean food.
From the curry goat and jerk chicken to the ginger cake, everything hit the spot.
No overdone crusty chicken pieces here, just succulent juicy meat dripping in mouth watering sauce.
I don't normally order salads, but even the steamed vegetables could be eaten on their own with rice and peas and I wouldn't be disappointed.

This is the best Jamaican food I have had the hospitality is amazing and the workers make you feel like you're a regular customer even if you've just been once.

When you are hundreds of miles from home, you don't know the area at all and you come across Eat & Sweet. What a treasure. A smiley face and great food. Thank you from the hungry Londoner. 😉😃

Excellent food, service and value for money.
The quality of the food is and has always been excellent. On this visit I bought the large Chicken dinner and as ever, the seasoning was extra nice and authentic. If you are in Manchester and want a flava of 'yard food' then there's no better place.
A. C.
Can’t say no to this...the jerk chicken is the best I’ve ever had.
S. M.
Had a great experience here. Amazing food! The atmosphere is welcoming and the people were lovely. The Jerk chicken is tender and fresh, the Ackee and salt fish is delicious.

One of the best caribbean takeaways in manchester - food has that homemade taste and texture- try the ackee & salt fish with rice n peas ( my taste buds were doing back flips) prices are very reasonable - next time your in manchester city centre check this place out on church street.....trust me you will be back time and time again

The Best Jamaican food in Manchester. I wish to stay longer just to get one more chance to have their ackee and saltfish again.
A. S.
Don't let the assuming entrance put you off. Blows it's trendy rival out of the water. Great Jerk Chicken and well priced
D. F.
Best jerk chicken I've ever had, tender chicken and full of flavour.
D. V.
Walked in on a whim and walked out a convert. We tried the curry goat, jerk chicken and ackee and salt fish. All were amazing...peas and rice were off the charts and the service is warm and friendly. The jerk chicken was too good to put into words. Stop reading this and get your order in!
D. S.
Was in Manchester from London. Needed to find a spot to get a strong munch after a long days driving. This place did not dissapoint. I had the Oxtail... it was dropping of the bone. The rice was a little sticky due to the sauce. The veg on the side was amazing and also got a piece of jerk chicken. Everything was onpoint. I highly recommend this spot.
R. S. K.
Best jerk chicken I’ve had in a while. Full of flavour!
M. l.
Had some proper jerk chicken with brown stew gravy here! It was perfect
M. M.
Came down from London for the day and tbh this might be the best yard food takeaway I've had in the whole UK! Ackee & Saltfish dinner was wonderful! Highly recommend.

C. D.
Great food great people what more do you want
R. J.
Enjoyed the food. Order dinner from there three days in a row. Very friendly place. Sad to learn that they are close on Sunday .
J. M.
Delicious authentic Jamaican food, far better than the likes of Turtle Bay and Carribean flavas. Meat is good quality, juicy and tender, portions are generous. Peppered steak was a treat!
Would have loved plantain!
A. M.
Soulful Caribbean food. The Jerk Chicken was tender and tasty, although I prefer it a bit drier. That's a preference though. The favour was still on point with a dash of encona. The Curried Goat was up there with the best I've ever had.
We ordered a large for both dishes. Portion sizes were very generous, as was the gent behind the counter who gave me a complimentary lamb patty, which tasted great and I'd definitely order one next time.
I had to drop a mark for not having plantain on the menu... sorry. Will definitely stop in again next time I'm in Manchester!
R. B.
Best Carribbean food I've had ever.

Being a massive foodie and a chef by trade from Ireland, authentic Jamaican food has been on my bucket list for years. I finally got the chance when I discovered Eat & Sweet.
It's a real hidden gem and the curry goat was absolutely worth the 2 mile walk. The staff where very pleasant to interact with and the portion sizes where large and homely. The curry goat was incredibly flavourful and tender with a nice amount of heat. So far, it has been the best thing I have eaten during my stay. Would definitely go back!
C. N.

The best Caribbean in MCR City Centre! True authentic food, always say yes to the steam veg as it is 10/10. The staff are welcoming and look after you really well. There are a couple of stools here to sit and eat your food but I usually take it away. It's a favourite of mine for lunch
M. S.
Wonderful food!!!! Can't recommend this place enough!!! The plankton is a treat!
