Reviews of Happy Seasons Restaurant
J. T.
One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Manchester, their roast meats are literally the best. I always order the extra soya chicken with my duck, char siu & belly pork along with egg fried rice. Oh BOY!!! Does it hit the spot. And don’t get me started on the beef brisket with noodle soup. WOW!! SPEECHLESS!!!
Worth the wait and definitely worth the visit every time. Amazing staff, amazing service and top food.
Will be coming back here for more.
j.
Unbelievably great authentic food. You know its going to be good before you even get into the premises as the queue is long. A lot of the clientele are also native to the food served.
The staff are wonderfully polite and attentive and they helped serve the food that was bought to the table. Will definitely be going again but expect to pay for such high quality food.
V. L.
Staff are super friendly and the food tastes nice. The duck wasn’t too fatty or oily like another place we tried in Manchester, it was perfect!
The other dish, chicken in peking, was also nice! Not too much flavouring which is the way TRADITIONAL dishes in Hong Kong are cooked.
Can’t wait to visit again!!
B. T.
Seen this place on Instagram and I just had to try it, so many great reviews let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Staff were friendly and very informative on menu choices. Was recommended the Chinese triple roast never had chinese roast before but if this was anything to go off ill definitely be having it again.
S.
Pretty disappointing. They barely have like 8 dim sum items. It's a no frills restaurant, but very expensive. Come on, it's more expensive than those in London Chinatown. We ordered the roasted meat platter and only came with four pieces of duck. The charsiew was chewy and dry. I wanted to eat some veggies, so I ordered the water spinach, just to check later on the bill that it cost £14.50, and it came with barely any garlic. The service is rude, except for one of the old ladies, who was very nice. They started cleaning out table while we were still eating, which was unacceptable. Still, they charge you a service charge. They only good thing, the rice noodle dish 乾炒牛河 was really good: big portion, tender beef and nice wok hei.
B. F.
Roast duck on rice is super delicious and a must-try.
This place made me a fan of Chinese cuisine. Staff is friendly, the place is quite small, but ambient. Once we saw Fred Sirieix dining in this restaurant.
But be ready to spend a bit more, as prices are a little bit higher.
S. A.
3rd time here, I like it very much. 🍗🦆Again we did the two meats with rice (they run out of pork🐽 fast) it’s Thursday night and place is crowded, there was a queue of 10 people when I left my amazing presence from this place, vibe is homey and simple, staff is friendly and respectful, they have a secret MENU 😉🖖🏽🇨🇳 and I got my delicious Congee soup of it, yummy! Prices are ok.
Have a blessed dinner.
G. J.
Not bad for a quick meal but the price does not reflect the quality. The publicity on social media is very effective as it what attracted me to eating there but I don't think I will return.
C. G. S.
Good service! The food let us down as we came with great expectations after seeing queues outside the restaurant and also reading reviews that it was the best Chinese restaurant in China town. The quality of the food was ok. It’s not bad but it doesn’t leave up to the expectation. And we’ve tried a lot of Chinese restaurant in Manchester
T. C.
The restaurant is small but the Chinese dishes are fantastic. One of the dishes I ordered was noodle with barbecued pork. The pork was fat, tender but not oily. That’s why a long queue queued up outside. I tried to order Dim Sum but a waiter headed up us that it may take longer time for being steamed, so I did not place.
C. d. B.
Visited yesterday with family of 4 and was superb - food was excellent, service was 1st rate and waiting outside was hilarious and entertaining. Keep an eye out for the karaoke taxi ! 😂
S. U.
Fantastic taste, especially with the char Sui and roast duck. However, they always sold out so quickly, not even busy hour yet.
M. D.
Really busy Chinese restaurant there was a queue but the menu had a good selection of food the service was really good even though it was busy
K.
Amazing food..been coming here for over 8 years and never had a bad experience. Can sometimes be a short wait for a table, but it is more than worth it!
A brilliant selection of authentic and traditional Chinese food.
The Dim sum is out of this world, and no other restaurants come close to the Happy sessions mixed meat's!
B. B.
Very tasty restaurant in the heart of Manchester's Chinatown. The staff were very friendly and explained the different things on the menu when we didn't know what they were. The portion size is very big which is good, but they charge you 50p forneach takeaway container so be warned. There is huge range of food in all sorts of sizes such as platters and sharing plates as well as individual dishes. They also deliver too. There is plenty of food suitable for vegetarians too. Will definitely visit again.
A. C.
A Chinatown gem. No frills restaurant with great service and delicious authentic food, the roast meats were super tender and tasty.
Huge portions for the price, a great value meal.
J. S.
Fantastic food and service. My friend introduced me here and I'll defo go back again
D. W.
Have the barbecued meat. It is amazing. The chef comes in at 6am to prepare it. The dim sum is also fabulous.
L. M.
Good food , good service, roast duck to die for 😋
S. H.
Absolutely brilliant meal, great price too.
Would definitely go again.
B. R.
Fantastic food. Well worth the wait. Excellent attentive service. Slight issue with one dish but did not affect the experience at all (mishap in the kitchen meant it was almost forgotten).
C. W.
Used to go here regularly to buy a whole duck. Price was reasonable and size of duck was ok too. However my last visit they said they don't sell whole ducks even though its shown for 26 pounds. So we ended up buying half a duck chopped. To our surprise, the half duck we could see that pieces where missing from it. Good honest business is important. Because of this I won't be coming here again.
T. W.
One of the best chinese restaurants in Manchester. Good service too. The salt and pepper wings were the best ive ever had. The beef and black bean sauce is my favourite dish in the world. The takeaway is also very good.
C. C.
Unless it's busy, you'll be able to get a table quite quickly - but it's quite small inside so get there early!
Food and drinks come out super quick and the food is tasty. The portions are quite big too so try not to over order! They charge for takeaway boxes.
Would recommend if you're looking for classic Chinese food.
A. N.
Dont be concerned with the meat by the window. No point bothering going to any other chinese joint in Manchester. Here, you get the three roast meat types, a side of veg and rice and you got yourself a solid meal.
R. J.
Really good food and as usual busy but they managed to squeeze all 7 of us in.
It was a bit expensive as the prices seem to have been steady increasing over the past couple of years.
Would not put me off going again.
But cheeky asking 50p for a takeaway container after my bill was £220+
S. D.
Roast meat, very good. Noodle, very good. Tea, very good. All in all, very good.
D. I.
Great portions! Prawn Dumplings were very sticky(could have been better).
a. t.
Dim sum and roasted duck meat must try....the best
P. W.
Excellent food and service, the young chow fried rice was so light and delicate, the roast meats just melted in your mouth, we will be back next time we're in Manchester! Thank you to All the staff 😊♥
C. L.
One of the best, if not, the best authentic Chinese restaurant in Manchester. The food here is excellent! The service is impeccable and it's great value for money!!
D. A. R.
Went there as I heard positive comments about this place plus my girlfriend is celiac, and heard there were quite a lot of GF meals so that she could have dinner overthere aswell.
We went there on a quiet tuesday evening and were surprised as the place was nearly full. When I was about to order a pork meal, one of the waitresses told me that they only had duck-based meal available for the rest of the evening. Then, another one came, we doublechecked which plates were available...and she told me that they had run out only of pork! which is such a big difference. I don´t like making a big fuss about service in restaurants but it is such a joke to charge 10% for this kind of service
On the other hand, they only do bottled beer/cider, and I had a bottle of Tsintao which was 3.80, and my partner had a bottle of cider which was 4.50....way overpriced aswell.
When it comes to food, I was looking forward to it as I could tell that all the meals people were having looked delicious. My partner ordered chicken with a sweet and sour sauce which was tasty, but I had the misfortune of ordering chicken with lemon and honey, which sounded amazing aswell but...when I saw the meal, I just wanted to cry, as it was just a breaded chicken fillet soaked in a sauce with a citric flavour. To say that my meal was dissapointing is an understatement, maybe I just had the bad luck of choosing the wrong meal but to be fair, I don´t know what's the point of having a huge menu filled with such a poor meals.
When settling the bill,as I said before, I had the feeling the place is hugely overpriced. The point of the service charge is to pay for the good service you have had in a fine dining restaurant, but to be fair in this place I felt scammed as the service we received in this place was, to put in bluntly, not the best we have had.
To sum it up, honestly I don't know what's the fuss about this place; the food is fine but nothing to die for, and the price and the amount of money you're charged for it doesn't help at all.
c. h.
Quite disappointing. The prices for roast duck rice is higher than its competitors. They charged £0.5 for chilli , extra sauce, which is a rip off compared to London or anywhere else. The quality of the duck rice was quite good. However, the portions are smaller than other places.
S. W.
Delicious food today with my Chinese friend. Will be back..
S.
Did not have any BBQ left at tea time today, 18:45, for three roasts rice but went with deep fried salt and pepper pork chops on rice instead. Very good, very filling, hot and fresh. Recommended. Staff friendly, good social distancing and great service. Happy Seasons hardly ever disappoints!
R. H.
Tasty food. Portion of fried rice was huge. Strange to have bbq pork in hot and sour soup though? Very busy and popular, but food came out quickly.
T. G.
We go to Happy Season on a regular basis the food is amazing Kevin and all the staff really helpful can’t fault it at all every meal is fabulous it gets really busy because it’s so good I always recommend happy seasons to my friends and all have really enjoyed eating here
L. K.
Our favourite Chinese restaurant in Manchester. Food is always 👌 and staff are lovely. Worth queing. Open 12.00 every day.
C. H.
Chinese food that I miss after traveling for a long time
V. S.
We mainly went to this restaurant for the duck they displayed outside. It pulled us inside and it was worth a try but we didn't like the Cantonese style of cooking better we would have ordered for the grilled duck. Otherwise, the soups, starters & mains are of a different kind and must try when you visit Manchester. Giving 4 for the toilets they maintain.
p. m. c.
Had to queue for another 10 minutes but when we got in we were not disappointed food was delicious, especially the prawn toast 😋😋😋 I would highly recommend.
K. S.
Lovely restaurant, was really busy but the service was fast and the staff were pleasant. Food was delicious and the portions were huge! Prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend going there if you want great tasting Chinese food at good prices.
C. W.
Not very big, so after phoning ahead and booking when we arrived they informed it would still be 30 mins wait, in the rain with the kids!!!
K. W. C.
Delicious chinese food and good portion size! Recommend the roasted duck and fish and tofu pot!
B. M.
Top class food ans excellent service Is a 10/10 next level salt and pepper pork chops 😋👌 a year on wow prices are to high now in here. salt and pepper pork chops. chicken in cashew nuts and 1 special fry rice and 2 glass of drinking tap water £47 that is with the new 10% service charge
C. F.
This is the best Hong Kong style roasted duck in England. The waitresses are nice and efficient.
D. G.
Very busy when we arrived on New Year’s Eve.
We decided to wait/queue outside for a table.
Waitress came out to say “card machine not working” because it was New Year’s Eve!
Not even believable. The Chinese love a bit of cash don’t they!!
The food was great in all fairness.
The place was just very SCRUFFY.
Probably wouldn’t return.
G.
Very fresh and delicious food. Very authentic Chinese restaurant...the fact that most of the people eating there were of oriental descent, is testament to this. We visit this place every year after visiting the Christmas markets.
See you next year!!
S. T.
It’s pretty much known this place has the Best roast duck and pork in the city. It always seems to run out before 2pm. But everything else is good not amazing but good. If you come here you come only for the fabulous duck.
M. V.
Good service, but the quality has been down than before. Rice dish were cooked too soft and not proper.
Ordered 3 meat bbq which i think is overpriced for the quality and amount of each type. The roasted duck were NOT crispy and little meat. The pork belly was full only with fat and no meat, Disappointed!
Probably not gonna come back next time.
Y. H.
Very good food & generous portions. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices too.
K. L.
Happy seasons is my go to place for comfort Chinese food. Their roast meats are the best in Manchester and the daily queue is a testament of the quality of their food. If you want to try their infamous roast then go before 7pm as they sell out on a daily basis. I am a regular at this restaurant and if you want authentic Cantonese food then this is the place to go.
A. P. P.
Best Chinese food I have tried in a long time. The three roast meat was incredible, very tasty. The dumplings and buns soo soft and also flavoursome. Loved it! And the service was great, very kind waitress. Highly recommended. Thanks.
p. a.
Had a meal for two. The spring rolls - really good! Siumai - also really good!
Main courses - sweet and sour chicken, lemon chicken and fried rice was some of the best I've tried to date.
The staff are also really friendly and helpful-they know their kitchen inside and out.
What i liked most was the family restaurant atmosphere.
Will come back everytime i go to Manchester, thank you!
H. H.
One of the best Chinese restaurants ive eaten at in Manchesters China Town 5 star
D.
Very delicious for a late night snack
E. P.
Very tasty food -well proportioned-busy but attentative staff
Z. X.
Simply the best roast duck in Manchester. No doubt about that. The 三烧饭 is definitely legendary.
A. B.
Fantastic food and very friendly staff, very popular restaurant, they were queuing up the street so make sure you book.
W. F.
A decent size restaurant in Chinatown. The roast pork is a "must have"; the cracklings were nicely done & the meat were moist and adequately seasoned.
Y. W.
Best Chinese in the UK. The roast duck is to die for and the cha sui is soooo good. I had eaten most of the duck and pork before I remember to take the photo. 😂 Photo of my other favourite noodle dish...with beef and Chinese kale.
E. H.
Delicious food, generous portion sizes and very friendly staff. I loved it here and I will return.
S. b.
Had a lovely meal at happy season was really tasty best Chinese meal I've had for a long time excellent
赵.
There are lots of good delicious 😋food and one of good business restaurants in China Town of Manchester .I have been there several times.
M. C.
Ate here for four consecutive days. Service is fast. Food is great and very Cantonese. Go for the roast meats and the chicken with either rice or noodles. The soup of the day is good, a blend of mustard leaves, tofu and shredded meat. Ambience is all about food.
g. b.
Great food and service. Daniel the waiter 🤨 good laugh. All together a good night. 👍
V. S.
Fabulous restaurant! Happy, friendly staff and super quick service. We had the banquet menu A (family of 4) and it was plentiful, really hot and lots of it, so much so that we had to take some away. The Cantonese beef was delicious, and the salt and pepper ribs we're delightful. This place has a great atmosphere and we would happily recommend to anyone, in fact, you definitely should. Thanks so much for a really pleasant experience :)
U. R.
Well and thoroughly fed. Wonderful delicious dishes. I shall return, and with more friends 😎👍🏽
C. J.
Really enjoyable. Been quite a few times. You may have to wait due to popularity but worth it.
O.
Great food lovely and friendly staff would reccomend
L. S.
The food is by far some of the best I have ever tasted, we ordered several different starters, each and every one was delicious, would highly recommend.
H. W.
Great food, huge portion sizes, friendly service.
P. S.
The place is called the cheapest place in Chinatown to eat but it's not the case anymore. Prices here seems to have rocketed after the pandemic. The pecking roast duck was the best here but not anymore. When I said cheap ,one should be careful when ordering yr food. If you order just rice with crispy pork n duck, or roast chicken or BQ pork, this is cheap.i.e £11 per head. Otherwise any orders on individual basis, the cost is between £25 n £30 per head. The staff were generally good. The food is just fair and nothing more.
J. B.
Nice food but the lime and soda £3.50 I mean really? Tap water free.. next time!
H. C.
A great, no-fuss, no-frills place with a big selection of dishes (and a smaller selection of vegetarian dishes) that is very popular with tourists and the local community. Be prepared to queue if you go at peak times.
J. K.
We were expecting a lot more. Not worth queuing for. Service was good and people were nice. Food was ok
M. “. K. A.
Best roasted duck ever but long wait to get in.
L. A.
We return here again and again. What it lux in style it more than makes up for in taste and efficency. The queue at the door is for a reason.
M. W.
I recommend for TAKE-OUT ONLY. The food is delicious but the dining area is so small and tatty. Before the lock-down even though social distancing was recommended the manager(rude middle-aged woman) squeezed as many chairs as possible at the tables obviously favouring ££ over ppl's safety not to mention how uncomfortable it was being squashed between strangers, bumping elbows n rubbing thighs every few seconds. Embarrassing! This is no exaggeration. Oh I've just remembered about ⅔ the way through our meal she also moved us across to the next table too. What a joke❗I wouldn't believe it if I read a review like this one if it hadn't happened to me. If only we knew B4 we started eating. The staff are impolite. I don't think they know the meaning of basic manners nevermind hospitality! Needless to say we didn't bother finishing our food. It's a shame as I say the food is really good. We've been coming here over 30yrs though changing of owners/managers so I'll continue for TAKE-OUT. I'm just not paying to be treated like a d**k.
S. R.
Food was very nice and freshly cooked and staff is very friendly.
V. M.
It was a great restaurant with good food and overall a good experience with authentic Chinese cuisines
M. K. Z.
Good cantonese food at Chinatown, Manchester. Very enjoyable meal!
A. G.
Reduced in quality.
Happy Seasons had always been a reliable no-frills Chinese eatery in the heart of town. Historically, the food was hearty and inexpensive and was frequented by locals and Chinese expats in equal measure.
Having visited the venue twice in 2021, it is sadly (like so many places these days) a lesser version of itself.
Dishes arrived almost instantly and were rarely cooked to order. An example of this was the squid; which was fried and then simply mixed with pre-made sauce, meaning that the flavour didn't really impact the food. The broccoli too (ordered with garlic) simply arrived with the sauce draped over, rather than being marinaded and just tasted like plain broccoli.
Price-wise it wasn't great value; hardly extortionate but more expensive than I recall. I wouldn't say that this is a bad place, it's fine. Just don't expect anything special at the moment.
Y. Z.
I have been a regular customer here since 2010. As an old loyal customer, I really want to put a straight 5-star. But I did find inconsistencies in their food sometimes. This restaurant is famous for roast duck, pork etc. You should be aware that the prices on deliveroo is about 1 pound more expensive than the price in restaurant. They also have two different menus at two sides of the entrance door. I always order from the one with both Chinese and English letters.
E. S.
The roast duck and roast pork were so good. Definitely recommended.
A. P.
The best Chinese food I’ve had. Such good service too.
T. H.
Food was orthentic and service was excellent. Price were reasonable. Recommended
S. L.
Always great food here, a fast in and out type service. Made a point of driving from Kent to Manchester just for a chinese here before driving home up to Sunderland. Great portions and cooked to perfection
D. G.
Good prices! Fantastic food! Very busy - always a good sign!!
ヨ.
Food isn't perfect but at this price and this location no other restaurant could compete them in this area.
P. S.
Wanted a quick bite in Manchester's China Town and chose Happy Seasons. Couldn't be more happy with the food for the price! Don't expect much from the decor, but the food far outshines the environment!
M. G.
It was just ok. Maybe we didn't choose the best dishes.
R. M. (. B.
Best restaurant in China town bar none.
Highly recommended.
L. T.
First time back since the lockdowns. We’ve eaten here many times before but there was a noticeable difference. In the past, the staff have been rather off hand - not rude, but not particularly friendly. This time, it was all smiles and genuine pleasure at welcoming people back. The food, as always, was great. Great crispy duck, Szechuan beef, crispy chilli beef and soft noodles. Portions are large too!
L. C.
Most of the meal was awesome, the fried rice was weak, the restaurant was clean and the staff friendly
R. E.
A good menu selection and good food, we had a bowl of soup for 2 people plus 2 mains, and 2 drinks. price for our meal was just under £40. Thumbs up from us 👍👍👍🙂
B. G.
Great authentic Chinese food. Service was not so good, messed up our order and took 45mins to correct.
L.
The family run business is great to invest my money into. The food is excellent and tasty with a great roast. The restaurant never fails to let me down and the staff are polite and friendly. The food tastes high quality and worth every penny. The portions of the food are perfect amount for a man and if that does not fill you up then i am sure their desert will finish you of. Me and my family enjoyed and I have recommended this place to my friends.
G. W.
Good value. Great food. Lovely experience. 👍
E. B.
Not high end dining but what it is, it does really well. Cheap, good tasting Chinese food.
I have been to Happy Seasons twice now with friends, both times the service and food has been excellent. We ordered set menu B for £21 per head. We asked to substitute one of the main items for another off set menu A which our host kindly accommodated. All the food was lovely asides from the sweet and sour fish however, my friend like it so, I can only put it down to personal opinion. The drinks and food prices are very reasonable, definitely below average for the area.
The setting is very clean, and although the decor is certainly not something to write home about. The restaurant is always filled with well mannered people and a table has always been found for us.
I will be certainly coming back.
L. H.
Lovely meal, amazingly friendly service.
The price was great for how much delicious food we got. We recommend. Thankyou Happy Seasons!
S. R.
Prompt service, food is cooked very quickly. The food is decent enough.
A. H.
My favourite Chinese food is always hot and fresh love the peking ribs
E.
Very nice staffs, delicious Chinese cuisines, I wanted to order more but my stomach didn’t let me. Wanna come back again.
k.
Portions were large and tasty. And staff were very friendly :).

Best place!
For take out or eat in
My kids favourite place
Soya chicken Pork and Duck finger kicking GOOD!
a. a.
Great service and food. Authentic Chinese restaurant.
M. J.
Just been to the Happy Seasons Restaurant for my brothers birthday 🥳 The food was yummy and the staff were ace!
Lovely family run restaurant - if you want to eat out but support local I can’t think of a better place to go!
W. Y.
I always enjoyed the roasts in this restaurant. Family run and it might not be the most trendy or friendly in town. But the roasts are very high quality. Beats most if not all of the roasts restaurant in London. London used to have really good roasts but sadly not anymore, this will not disappoint your hunger for roasts and portions are reasonably generous. I would personally recommend this place.
Y. R.
Always fit us in. Always lovely food.
Would recommend but not too much (as we might not get seated last minute next time!!) Love this place!
P. M.
Fantastic food, especially the genuine Beijing roast duck, which they are renowned for. It sells out quickly at the lunch service, so there is usually a queue outside waiting for them to open. In fact, expect to queue most of the time to get in! The food is mostly Cantonese alongside dim sum and fairly unadventurous, but what they do they do well. The service is truly bizarre and the standard of English mixed. Expect to be ushered in and out fairly curtly, and for your server to wander off mid taking your order. After the last mouthful goes down you will be thrust with the bill. But it all adds to the fun, and is totally worth it for the food you will enjoy. PS. The dish you can see everyone else eating is called "three roast meats on rice, warmed up, off the bone."
K. S.
My friend and I love this place! We went there for dinner 2 days in a row. It's not the most excellent chinese food, but the comparison between price and quality is more than acceptable.
Foods served really fast, so I don't think it's really freshly cooked but taste is really good.
It's always crowded here, so make sure you come early.
J. E.
Lovely freshly cooked meal very tasty very efficient staff and friendly. Good value for money we will 100% be back.
J. D.
Fantastic food as always. I highly recommend the Ma Po Tofu, the Salt and Pepper pork chops and the stuffed peppers/tofu. Staff are lovely and friendly too. One of my favourite restaurants in Manchester
R. W.
Small but authentic Chinese restaurant, its my choice in Manchester. Beautiful food
G. O.
This place has some of the best Chinese BBQ meats in Manchester. For under a tenner you can get 3 meats and rice, which is honestly very delicious. The meats are tender and have been properly marinated and roasted. The restaurant itself is a bit old and worn, but still charming. The food is so good that there is always a wait, no matter when you go. Staff seem abrupt but are actually quite nice when you speak to them properly.
S. M.
A "very British" local couple outside told me they loved this Chinese food place, and I wasn't disappointed. Their dishes were well prepared, portions were generous, servers were pleasant, polite and attentive, and their prices were very reasonable. It is open later than other eateries and was busy even at 10:30pm, so it's obviously popular. An owner or manager was around, seeing if patrons were satisfied and being looked after. Family friendly. Ambiance was good - better than expected when looking in from the outside.
J. N.
not a fancy place and does not pretend to be with service typical of many a China town smaller family run establishment. quite busy for early week night extensive menu and the food of my fellow diners looked really good. my starter was delicious though mains of Singapore noodles only so-so. however the portions are large and great value for the price
J.
Happy Seasons is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Manchester, their food is delicious and reasonably priced. The place can get very busy so sometimes it is hard to get a table, but it is a very popular restaurant. I usually order a chicken chow mein which is the best I have tasted. Highly recommended!
N. G.
The better Chinese food in all of Manchester
P. P.
Probably my favourite restaurant in town! Very authentic and traditional Cantonese food. The roast duck is amazing and all the fries rice! The service is terrible, some staff are even rude at times, but I guess is part of this place charm...anyway the food is so good and cheap that the service or the dates decor are just very small details!
I. R.
A few strange compliments incoming but this place has THE NICEST rice ever. Didn’t know that rice could taste this nice, yet here we are. The lady who brought our duck over also shredded the entire thing in record time, it was a spectacle. Good food really enjoyed
N. T.
Delicious Chinese food! The staff are friendly and the food is fantastic. The menu is also quite extensive with probably a hundred if not more items to chose from. I would definitely make sure to eat here on your trip to Manchester.
J. S.
I had to wait for 20 min to get the table. The staff were not that friendly during the waiting time but I guess they were super busy also. Once I got the table they were really friendly. I ordered some hot and sour prawn soup which was nice and for the main I ordered some egg fried rice ( which was fab) and some black bean chicken which was nice too. Nice food in general 👍
L. C.
Set menu B was on order - delicious, filling, speedy service. Exactly what you would want in a great Chinese dinner. Good for relaxed/cosy dates, nice dinners out that aren't too flashy (we are talking paper table cloths on top of linen ones), great place to go with friends, groups, colleagues. Everywhere else looked very quiet and this place very busy on a Wednesday night, so we popped in without a plan to go there. Can highly recommend, it was brilliant!
G. S.
Food is great but the staff is rude.
K. T.
Best known for their roasts - my personal favourite goes to the roasted duck - which you might need to reserve beforehand as it gets sold out quicker than other meats they do. Imo they are a little overpriced if you order stir friend vegetables so I suggest to stay away from veg options if you are seeking for good value. Otherwise, pricing is fine for this place, keep in mind that you might not get a seat during peak hours as there are only limited seats.
F. G.
Amazing food and excellent service. Thank you.
G. E.
Worth the wait, really good all round
A. Y.
Huge portions for a good price. Meat was excellent and not too fatty! Good meat, skin and fat ratios! Service isn't great, but that's normal for such a fast-paced Chinese restaurant :b apologies, forgot to take a photo as I was too hungry! Could have had more vege on the dish though!
D. B.
Very happy customer... Generous portions, tasty and fresh.
Great customer service too.
Will surely visit again anytime in Manchester.
b. F.
We come just for the sliced duck off the bone with noodles & gravy. The dish is very simple but amazing flavour. Simple decor but always packed, worth waiting for a table or takeaway. Well worth a visit you won’t be disappointed.
A. D.
Beautiful food, great service, really fresh food, definitely worth a visit, only visit this restaurant if in China Town, too good to miss ❤️
V. C.
Their roasted meats with rice dishes are delicious. Char Sui pork can’t be compared with any of the other meats. Good portion size and resonably priced. However, the waitor/waitress was so rude, showing frustration for no reason. Not even a smile to be seen on their faces. That actually makes me not want to go ever again regardless of how delicious the food is.
G. P.
Very good and authentic Chinese. The crispy duck was a bit overdone. The beef noodles were nice and we also enjoyed some greens with garlic. I was quite impressed they had some typical Chinese vegetables.
L. S.
Lovely little restaurant. Big portions. Hot and sour soup gorgeous. Main meals are large so 2 mains between 3 people would be plenty. Food is tasty and they don't rush you like some restaurants. If you haven't booked be prepared for a little wait in line. We hadn't but only waited about 10 minutes for a table. But it was worth it.
G. S.
Exceptional food and the best duck in Manchester, I'm lucky to have a Chinese girlfriend to introduce me to these places and I'd encourage everyone to try it.
Happy Seasons is run like a proper, fast-paced, authentic Chinese restaurant too, so don't be surprised if the waiting staff are bustling around and always in a hurry, it's perfectly acceptable to wave your hand in their direction to get their attention, as they don't check on you constantly like Western waiting staff do. In here the food is why you're there, not the decor or "friendliness" of staff.
You'll find that due to the popularity of the place, it is frequently very busy so it's worth heading there at more "random" non-peak times to avoid having to queue.
o.
The food is served fast after you order, and it's delightful to have so many options to choose from their menu. Although kind of small, and not extravagant, the interior is well kept, organised, and the staff are always ready to serve you. Definitely recommend this place!
P. H.
You will either take one look at the decor and the ramshackle appeal of the venue and walk or you will see the pile of people waiting to get in and decide that this place is worth the wait. The food is very good (not exceptional) but brilliant value. Best place in Chinatown - i have tried the majority of the competition.
The service is decent - you are not going to this restaurant for the quality of the coca cola or the state of the cutlery - duck is amazing - banquet menus are v.good value - hot & sour soup is great
E. T.
We've been going here for years and keep coming back because it's so good. Went last month to celebrate hubby's birthday and they really made the whole group feel special. The food is wonderful. Lot's of choice in China town but Happy Seasons get's our vote!!
M.
My family and I are regular visitors to Happy Seasons and have never had a bad meal yet. The food is tasty and fresh, the service I have received is always pleasant and the overall value is good, including drink prices. The restaurant also has a clientele which are primarily Chinese families and couples (which, in my mind is always a good sign in a Chinese restaurant)
The decor of the restaurant seems a little dated, however, this is not important to me because the place is clean (important) and the food is excellent (very important) so it doesn't matter one bit to me if the restaurant's chairs and wallpaper are not ultra trendy.
So if you are looking for a Uber cool and trendy restaurant, furnished in the latest decor but are happy to eat mediocre food, then Happy Seasons is not for you However, if you want good freshly prepared food, pleasant service and good value not only on the food but the drinks. Then this is the place for you.
O.
I had chicken fried rice (big plate for £8) and dim sum steamed shrimp dumplings (order of 4 for £4). Both were excellent. Ask for the chili oil—it’s spicy and amazing. Staff were nice and helpful.
N. N.
The food was delicious and very authentic.
G. R.
Visited over 10 times. Had 9 good meals and 1 average one where some of the order was incorrect (ordered salt and pepper ribs was given BBQ ribs). Their solution was to scrub the sauce off the ribs and reheat with salt and pepper. Obviously still tasted of BBQ. Willing to forgive them of one bad experience, typically really good and recommend the green tea.
f.
Amazing food and quick service. No messing about with this place. A must stop for Chinese roast meats
J. B.
Had prawn dim sum, very nice but I should have asked for a sauce. I will next time!
Also had a mixed roast on egg fried rice, amazing. The crackling on the pork and the pork itself was something else altogether.
Thanks unknown waitress who recommended it! See you next week!
C. L.
Food was lovely especially the roasties however the portion size is smaller than you’d expect considering for similar prices you get more from other Chinese restaurants down the road. The service... well it depends on their mood on the day.
E. P.
My favorite small Chinese restaurant in Manchester. No Chinese restaurant can beat Happy Seasons. Best food best taste parking you'll pay a bit but people que just to get a meal off this place. That's how popular they are in China town Manchester.
G. H.
Brilliant if you like the real thing. Slightly spoilt by the fact that the authentic Chinese dishes are only on a menu in Chinese. Have had to learn the Cantonese for some dishes, to get them. Staff really helpful once you've convinced them that you actually do like the authentic stuff and you're not just after crispy duck, then lemon chicken.
M. F.
Don't be put off by a four rating this place is excellent value for money, it just not a posh dining experience though. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious, not really a 'night out' destination but definitely the place to head for if you are hungry and want a great meal with quick service.
A. A.
Fantastic food great atmosphere and brill service..what more could you want..loved it
B. R. U.
This is the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester. Food wise man 5 excellent stars. I've been to a lot of Chinese but this one stands out. Food is the best here. I dont care if its small or simple if I go to a restaurant I'm there for the FOOD. GREAT FOOD NOTHUNG ELSE. Try their beef brisket rice...mixed roast meat 3x...etc. all top I LOVE THIS PLACE....😃😃😃
A. C.
Loved the food. Had Fu Joan fried rice and it was amazing! Big up Happy Seasons
G. S.
Fantastic food deffo worth a visit if you ar in Manchester the portions are insane and every bite seemed to be better than the last can't wait to return to manchester so I can go back
A. H.
Got crispy belly pork and egg fried rice. The belly pork was tasty but was luke warm.
J. O.
This place is simply a must! Be prepared to wait a little in the street, but then have some fantastic Chinese food as a reward. No fuss or frills. Service friendly and efficient.
The duck was delicious and looks like it's cooked especially in the front of the restaurant. We had pork buns and crackers also as a prelude to the best crispy chilli beef ever. Not just blobby hints of beef, but real slices of beef in a devine sauce. Straw mushrooms and veggies rounded off with Singapore style noodles. The tastes didn't get dull and every mouthful was a pleasure.
This is a fine example of the food doing all the talking, no distractions. Superb!
M. S.
Good food, great service. But the need to sort the lights out, it's so bright it's like eating in a dentist's waiting room. It's always busy so there might be a wait. That's a testament to the food and service but I think a little for attention to the atmosphere and décor would go a long way.
B. T.
Don’t expect any service, you don’t go here for that. It’s just the food you should care about. Perfect place to get that Cantonese/ Hong Kong style fast food dish (roast meat/rice/noodle etc). Highlight: The roast duck is simply the best, together with salt & pepper pock chop with friend rice.
L. L.
The food was AMAZING but the staff could probably smile a little more and be a little more welcoming
F. o.
Very happy with our lunch for 4 on Sunday 14th July. We had mixed roast meats, kai lan with garlic , taufu szechuan style and beef hor fun..all very good but I would have preferred a bit more greens in the beef horfun. The staff were excellent.
T. E.
The crispy duck is on another level, the skin is delicious and crispy af, the soup wws delicious as well
a. b.
Good quality Chinese food left well fed
M. Č.
Probably the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Manchester that I have been to. Make sure to try the Cantonese roasted duck!
c.
Visted on a saturday.at around lunch time, so had to wait 10-15mins, as the venue was busy.
Nice food, very reasonably priced. Ordered dim sum, duck and porkbelly , the duck was nice but especially enjoyed the pork belly.
Only let down was a slightly impatient waitress who seemed quite irritated that i asked for beginner's chopsticks when she had already provided me a fork. I think she thought I'd be more upset they didnt have them?
Newcomers should beware that the meat (in my case, duck) may come with bones, so youll have to be prepared to make a mess if you're not willing to eat them. However these were edible with a little determination, and didnt spoil the experience.
-
A worthwhile visit for good price, although i recommend bringing a few extra friends so you can get more dishes to sample and share.
****
S. S.
Reasonable price and a good service in the heart of Manchester's China town. It's a little small and you may need to wait but the food is good. Three mixed BQ is a good way of trying their roast options and delicious.
L. E.
Excellent food and fantastic service. Great atmosphere.
W. H.
I've been to Happy Seasons many times over the years and it never disappoints. It's successfully held out against the new hip and trendier Chinatown restaurants by being a simple but authentic Chinese restaurant serving great food at modest prices. The pork belly (with its crispy skin) is to die for.
P. H.
Amazing Chinese food, we had to wait 10 minutes because it is so popular but it was definitely worth the wait. Food is amazing and the staff were really friendly and helpful, my friends didn't know what to order so the staff helped them, everyone left happy! Happy seasons ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
S. H.
Authentic Cantonese bbq that you can’t miss
O. G.
I really love it here. It is my go to place for Chinese food, its very authentic and great atmosphere, its always quite busy so be aware you may need to wait a little bit. They do great 3 meat roasts which are the best! Make sure you check them out.
M. K.
Nice take away food but the girl was too rude and couldn’t be bothered to take order. It’s a shame they spoilt their good food with such a unfriendly service.
G. W.
Busy little restaurant. Good food and generous proportions.
f.
My go-to Chinese resto. Very good, homely service, the hostess is charming and is sometimes the tipping reason I go for dinner there, always cheers me up. The food is very good, the beef schezuan is amazing. The decor is understated and a tad run down, does feel a bit like being at Nanna's for dinner, but this isn't a critique for me. If you want fancy "high end" dining with a nitrogen dioxide steaming cocktail this isn't the place, but if you want good food and a relaxed charming evening at a reasonable price, whatcha waitin' for?
J. T.
Very busy but also very fast service
P. M.
The food and service is superb. The price is reasonable. This is our second time and we will definitely go again.
Decor is bright now, though thankfully the food is of much better quality
B. G.
Good food, fair price
R. K.
Very enjoyable meal.
Excellent service and food.
Would certainly recommend a visit.
Thanks very much.
J. T.
No fuss service. Great for groups, though hard to seat more than 4 persons. They turn their tables around very quick so the wait is not long when you get here off peak.
a.
Amazing food, relatively cheap. During busy periods everything can feel a bit rushed, but I don't really mind. The Malaysian rice sticks are delish.
C. M.
Just the best Chinese at a budget going. I spent several days a week for 6 months covering a position in a satellite branch in Manchester and i tried most of the restaurants in the Princess/Portland street area and found myself just coming back to this one time and time again. Their Tom Yum soup is my fav
Z. E. B.
Serves delicious traditional Cantonese dishes including duck in plum sauce and beef with ginger and spring onion.
Highly attentive waiting staff who were very happy to make a 'doggy bag' to take home the food that we couldn't quite finish.
C. S.
Poor service to Locals for some reason. Speaks in Cantonese. Sometimes gossips about customers (Locals) in Cantonese. Although I am Chinese and do understand a bit of Cantonese. Asking for an English menu turns out to be laugh for some of the service crew.
Would not go there again, although good food with good price.
M. S.
One of my favourite places to eat in Chinatown, better than these other "trendy" and modern restaurants. Yeah the decor won't be up to everyone's tastes but who cares yhe food is just so good!!! If you want quality Chinese food come here, if you want "other" Chinese food go to your local chippy!
K. C.
Previously very good. But their 3 roasties with rice has changed quite dramatically; very little meat, and the soy sauce has no flavour. Hopefully it'll improve as it's still my goto for roast duck.
A. O.
Really good king prawns in sweet&sour sauce. Prices are ok and the service is fast, except for dim sum (dumplings). Crowded also with Chinese clients, which is always a good sign. The place is quite small and the tables really close to eachother.
L. M.
It kind of feels like you're eating in someone's sitting room, or at lease we felt like that the first visit here, but this only adds to the experience. Amazing authentic food made fresh to order, this means it takes a bit for the food to come out but it's worth the wait. The restaurant is always busy with locals, but this can only mean good things. Always a mandatory visit when I'm in Manchester.
M. L.
Small place with out of sync décor and music give this place it''s uniqueness. Have gone here 15 times over the last year and food gets full marks. I enjoy the décor and music personally but surely doesn't match everyone's taste. (Not a place for business meals, but a perfect casual "let's get some really good food" place.)
Service has been excellent on all occasions except on very busy days it comes down to a "Very Good" - which cannot be complained. Roast pork and roast duck will send you into a culinary stratosphere.
G. T.
Who would have thought we would find great Chinese food in Manchester? Duck was best I've ever had, and shrimp we're nearly as good. Reminded me of Chinatown in NYC decades ago.
Z.
Best restaurant in Manchester.
Food is always been amazing.
Thank you Happy seasons :)
R. T. (.
Very busy and developed a long queue outside while we ate, so it must be good! Great food, fast service, and friendly staff. Good location and popular with lots of different crowds it seemed.
c. d.
Good food, but bit of an industrial vibe, not really inviting. The food comes very fast and they expect you to be as fast as possible to clear the table for the next party. But the food tasted great
d.
Out of all the places I have visited, Happy Seasons wins for the simple fact that they do their three roast meats better than all. I recommend Three Roast Meat on rice or egg fried rice. Get some spring rolls and crispy won tons on the side, and don't forget to drizzle generous amounts of light and dark soy, and order some ginger oil, this is key. Forget about the westernised stuff like black bean or sweet and sour chicken etc, once you eat their roast meats you won't go back. Get's quite busy so because of this they run out of certain meats, so make sure you come just after 6 or during lunch as they cook only a few batches a day of the meats (this is why they are so fresh).
A. K.
Very popular restaurant. Visited here off the back of great reviews and the regular queues outside but tbh it wasn't great. Food was average Chinese food absolutely nothing special, restaurant inside was small, cramped and busy meaning you couldn't relax and staff were fine but obviously busy and stressed. Average.
D. F.
Amazing food, super tasty, and lots of it!
S. C.
My favourite chinese i have eat here the last 5 years at least once a month. Best prawn dim sum dumplings homemade and cantonese duck on rice is best by far. Good price and delicious
H.
Very good no nonsense food.
Reasonably priced.
Not the nicest ambience but then I'm there to eat the food not the ambiance :b.
Very busy at peak times.
Not so bad when waiting for a table for 2 or 4 but large groups may struggle to be accomadated at short notice.
A. M.
Best Chinese we've had in a long time, food was all fresh and delicious and service was great.
D. C.
One of the best, if not the best spots for Chinese food in manchester. The place is pretty shabby looking and the staff are a bit inattentive at times but you have to go here for the food oh my! Also probably worth noting that you should probably expect to queue for the place especially on the weekends.
M. S.
This is a very friendly restaurant and English is spoken as well as Cantonese. The staff are always smiling and happy. The food is excellent and prices are very good, I found the portions to be very good and I have no complaints about anything. Great for a fantastic meal with friends.
S. M.
It was a delight to eat here. Quick tasty food. Not pretentious not fake. Just honest friendly staff and food. My fave out off 3 days here
M.
Needs improvement on customer service especially with regards to communication. Otherwise food is really good.
M. H.
Busy even when all the other surrounding restaurants were deserted which is a good sign. Lovely food (salt and pepper king prawns were excellent). Decor could do with a refresh though...
E. b. S.
Young guy taking orders very rude in his manners and brusque. He practically told me to shut up when i order my drink and food . Also too much atitude. Not nice! Still my favourite chinesse in town but some member of staff need some education and really sell the experience and not just food !!!!
J. S.
The food is amazing. Really nice dishes and good size, but the restaurant is very old and the team is not very friendly. You should eat in a rush
A. H.
Hard one to call. Nice ambiance but I hate starters arriving before you have had 3 prawn crackers then the mains arriving whe you are less that half way thru the starter. Starters were quite bland but I concede that many have been the choice of starter as the mains were lovely. On main course alone score a strong 4 bordering on 5 but the above issues pulled it down to a decent 3. Main course enough to justify a 2nd chance tho
B. R.
Really tasty food for a very reasonable price. Great dumplings! Lunch for three was just over £30. Recommended.
D. F.
Really good restaurant in Chinatown. We had to wait around 25 minutes for a table, so we knew that was a good sign! The staff were friendly, and the food was good. Bit crowded, but then again, that's another good sign!
M.
Authentic cantonese-chinese food that seldom disappoints. Very fond of their roast duck, claypot tofu with seafood and braised pork belly with cabbage.
Though the service can be pretty awful and often rude at times which can be quite offputting.
J. S.
this place is amazing!! always queuing out the door and for good reason, food is amazing quality. book if you can, as it is just so tasty, come back here again and again
M. T.
The best Chinese meals you can get in Chinatown Manchester. we always stop by when in manchester.very good food very reasonably priced served by smiling friendly staff.10 out of 10.
K. C.
Great char siu and chicken rice. I like the no non sense style. You get good quality food for a good price!
G.
Best Cantonese roast duck in Manchester definitely, probably also in the UK! Simply go for the duck, char siu pork and soy chicken, the other dishes are just complement to them.
R. G.
A tiny place..but don't let that fool you..we came upon this place quite by chance and we're glad we did..there were a lot of Chinese people going in which is always a good sign..the food is VERY good..no frills just good grub..we had egg fried rice..good..crispy chilli beef..VERY Good!!!..salt and pepper chicken wings and fried won tons..but the beef is YUMMY..please try this place...it is EXCELLENT value for money.. I wish it was in our town.!!!
M. T.
Fantastic, authentic and tasty food. Generous portions.
G.
Absolutely the best. Friendly and consistant. Not overdecorated and flash like some but the food is the best and that is why it is always busy. Good job I don't live in Manchester. I'd be there every day !!
H. R.
Good food quick service. Just bit noisy for a nice dining experience.
J. E.
First time dining here and loved it. We'll be definitely returning.
L. S.
Absolutely fantastic food is really nice an great portions best Chinese i have had in China Town
P. F.
The food here is so so good
P. L.
Best roast duck in Manchester. Good sized portions and reasonably priced. Could do with redecorating but the yummy food is worth it.
H. L.
My favourite. Staff are very nice and friendly, one waitress I think is particularly pretty! Best roast pork, char siu and duck in Manchester. Always busy, lots of Chinese people eat there. Multi-lingual too, English, Cantonese and Mandarin speaking. Though I guess thats all Chinese Restaurants. You have to try three roast meats with rice, or Sarm Sil Farn in Cantonese. Great atmosphere, the staff have good banter, with each other as well as the customers. Often see queues outside the door.
G.
Really great quality food ranging from dishes to the dimsum they have, portions are smaller than other places but the quality meats makes up for it.
H. W.
Crazy tasty
Amazing 3 meats and rice
S.
Don't have halal options so seafood was the only option
J. P.
Probably the best Chinese NO it is the best Chinese in Manchester ,I love coming to eat here 😁
N. k.
Duck 🦆/wo bone is the best!!
L. K.
Nice food . The roasted meats are good. Limited seating capacity during peak lunch period. Best to go earlier or later to avoid lunch.
L. E.
Yummy traditional Chinese food! Perfect for an afternoon swarie!
g. c.
Authentic cantonese rotisserie. The Three roastie with egg fried rice is a must to try. Just like how is it made back in hong Kong. Service is quick and hospitality is minimum just as it would in a rotisserie in Hong Kong. Don't expect red carpet and and fancy napkins with fine China to dine with. People go there only for the items on the plates. And.Just like it would in HONG KONG as soon as your mouth stops eating along you get moved
S. O.
I went here for a friends birthday with 3 other friends of ours, our table got slightly full although we all left full and the quality of the food was great, at a reasonable price as well, for a reasonably quick Chinese sit in, I would definitely recommend it
N. M.
Traditional style Chinese food. My friend, who speaks Cantonese, ordered from their traditional menu. Not a tourist or British style Chinese take away food. Good service and brilliant food.
L. H.
Old time Hong Kong food and nice staff
S. P. L.
Nice food but ill mannered workers. Claypot braised beef brisket with meat so tender n tasty. There is usually a queue.
n. b.
Nice place. have nice food variety, and it was pretty good also.
also good service.
atmosphere and design needs a bit improvement.
K. H.
Busy restaurant with great food.
K.
Continues to be the best restaurant in Manchester's China Town. The Peking Duck is expertly prepared and must not be missed.
C. H.
We had the Singapore fried noodles, the mixed roast meats and the fried udon. All were delicious and we are definitely coming back!
T. C.
Accommodating attentive staff, great food. Definitely among the best in Manchesters China town.
Just go straight for the banquet, you won't be disappointed
K. I.
Beautiful food and plenty of it. Amazing staff very friendly and great with the kiddies.
Will be back
D. S.
WOW What a place if you want a real Chinese experience. Dont be afraid just Go For It. We had a great meal and the staff were very helpful. Will definitely go again.
E. K.
Three roast meat with boiled rice is a local favourite here. Great food and service, but compared to other similar spots it is a pound or two more expensive.
b. m.
Lovely, staff, exceptionally good food and service. You may have to queue to get in but worth it.
K. S.
Strong 4 frome me. Nice food, and tasty,
But they don't have dessers, and china tea in menu. If you pleas you can get jasmine tea.
G. N.
I love the food in this place. The duck is awesome!!! The downside is that is a small place and overcrowded, of you are a big group don't even try to go as it is always busy.
P. E.
Excellent menu at good prices, limited drinks menu but it's all about the food here. Be prepared to wait on Faulkner St for a table if you haven't booked
V. S.
Fabulous dim sum extremely reasonable
M. L.
sweet and sour chicken was well good. drinks were a bit expensive. really nice and friendly service. clean and nice. will go again :)
A. R.
The duck is the best in Chinatown. Absolutely fantastic food 😋
G. K.
Fantastic food, service, experience.
J. R. R.
Food is amazing, staff are friendly, prices are cheapest of the Chinatown Chinese restaurants. Only sad thing is how busy they are all the time.
M. V.
Grubby looking but very popular and busy. Only giving 3 stars as our food was a bit on the oily side. But it was fresh.
a. v.
The Crispy Duck was very nice!
J. V.
Really bloody nice, every part of the meal. Best prawn toast ive ever had so glad ive taken some home 🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️🏄♂️
j. f.
this is the best place in china town the crispy belly pork is amazing and the duck is tender and juicy better book a table as this place fills up fast and you dont want to miss a chance to dine here !
L. W.
Really lovely food, friendly staff and all round experience
A. H.
Fabulous food, great service, highly recommend
J.
Top tier side mai for starter but everything after that was bordering on average. Had to take a star off for the sauce too
S. S.
While other dishes are typical Chinese that you can find elsewhere, probably better than here, their roasted pork is probably one of the best that I have ever tasted anywhere.
S. F.
Loved the food and humility offered there, very reasonable as well.
I. g.
Went here last night. What a find. Food was amazing, good service, and at a fraction of the cost of the bigger, and better known places nearby. Give it a try, it won't disappoint.
K. H.
So good, I recommend this restaurant if you like spicy food. The lunch deal is perfect and the staff is always pleasent.
A. H.
Customer service isn't that great. Duck, char Sui and belly pork is amazing! Other dishes weren't that great
p. m.
Good for a quick bite but quality is so so
M. S.
Best crispy pork I’ve had in the UK since living here for almost a year.
Friendly service and reasonable prices.
R. B.
Great Chinese enjoy hot soure soup sweet & sour pork
c. j.
Great food, friendly enough staff. Dated interior
A. Ś.
Good food, and quite inexpensive. The decor... yyy... it is time for an update. But I did enjoy my meal!
R. P.
Had the bbq duck tonight, best Chinese food I have had in my life
M. K.
Spicy, friendly and original.
M. M.
The food is always spot on. Never had a complaint about anything. My favourite Chinese restaurant in Manchester
s. b.
Fantastic food and friendly staff. If you are in Manchester and want proper Chinese food look no further.
N. H.
Excellent food and service. Very enjoyable.
S.
Great, cheap Chinese food. My go to place for roast duck and char siu with rice.
J. H.
Really lovely, authentic and tasty dishes and great service. Don't let the initial look of the place put you off!
Y. M.
Lovely Chinese food and very reasonable price
K. D.
Really good tasty food. Friendly staff also.
J. T.
Very good roast duck but sweet and sour pork was soggy and chewy
K. G.
Excellent food in a very busy restaurant. The business tells you something doesn't it? Highly recommended.
C. W.
Perfectly good and very busy. Smells were excellent, food that I had was mid-range but I would go again.
K. M.
Excellent food and service ,best chinese in Manchester
M. C.
Food is amazing. Staff and service can sometimes not be as good. Worth it for the food though!
J. W.
A little rustic but food authentic chinese
C. R.
Great food and not very expensive
R. S.
Best chinese restaurant I've ever tried! Try to eat something different, you will be surprised. Plates with duck are delicious.
J. K.
Delicious meal so good I had 2 mains
D. S.
Highly recommend the trio of roast meats - the duck, pork belly and char siu is fantastic.
A. C.
I got scolded for sipping a drink while waiting for my take away. The food is good but the service is definitely not. Racist.

The food is very very good. Place is a little run down, but the quality of the meal more than makes up for it.

Standard place for your classic choices of Traditional Chinese Dishes.
You come here for the food, not necessarily the service, but they do look after you.
