Drove 3 mile to get here as this was recommended by my partner and we were both glad we did. There is a reason why this place is holding its great reputation and also why everyone queues outside instead of just going next door or locally. Same owner for over 25 years apparently and known to my partner as Ray although we're not 100% that that's his actual name. Ray was great a real people person and proud of his food. Portions for 2 were huge and he was determine to make sure we got the most for our money pointing out offers he had on that that would get us bigger portions. When the food was ready I waited outside whilst my partner went to get the food. Ray was so proud of his food and portions he asked for me to come in so he could show me the food so that I was also happy with it and talk me through what he had got for us. We left with a free portion of Prawn Crackers and two free cans as well.. Food was lovely, good quality and more than enough for 4 and I still haven't got over the size of the Singapore Fried Rice, the pot was 2 thirds bigger than anything I'd had before. Worth adding the Ray salt and vinegared the chips in layers not just the top.. it does make a difference. Fair to say I'll drive the distance again to come back for it. £13 for enough food to do 6 meals that were incredibly tasty with loads of meat and flavours. We had special frid ri e with curry and pan stickers with chilly oil. And very nice it was too. And if Ray serves you he'll normally give you a little something for free like chips, mini spring rolls, prawn crackers. It must eat into the profit though

Amazing! Best chinese ever.. Known Ray about 20 years and always been to his chippy as a young child now my little girl enjoys his food too... Massively great portions, food is always tasty every time, very clean chippy. Wouldn’t prefer anywhere else 😍 Mini spring rolls are spot on 👌🏽

Best local Chinese chippy! Honestly Ray and family are great people and are apart of the haughton green/denton chippy pillar. Amazing food both the Chinese and English chippy. Always get large portions so great value for money. Personally for many many years always has and always will be my favourite Chinese chippy.

The food here tastes gorgeous. You portions are very generous. I have no issues and actually travel out my way for the food there. Only grumble is I love salt n pepper chips but they are too spicy for me from Rays ☹ (gutted) but aside that it's worth the money and the journey...INFACT I'm going tonight for the tea 😄

The best chippy in Manchester, you never need to say large chips as they give you more than any other chippy for a portion of chips friendly service and give you something for waiting. Ray and his team are a credit to the community.

Most amazing chippy and Chinese take away. We drive here as its 25 minutes away from us but by far one of the most delicious and generous takeaways you can find. Highly recommend, especially the salt and pepper wings or ribs.

I've had both a Chinese from Ray's well as a chippy dinner and they were both absolutely massive portions. A lot of the time when you get a Chinese there is normally not that much meat and loaded with veg. Not so at Ray's. The two Chinese meals I've had (Salt and Pepper Chicken and Beef, Green Pepper and Black Bean Sauce) were really nice as top drawer. The chippy I had was equally as lush and the chips and curry was just immense. Keep doing what you're doing Ray's and I'll keep coming back. :)

I live not far from Ray's chippy, and when I go there you will see the people waiting in the queue. A brilliant chippy with brilliant staff, and if you have to wait a while, you will get some freebies! Excellent chippy, and a great guy who owns it. One of the best chippies around my area. Brilliant Fish, Chips, Pies, Puddings, Chinese Meals, etc. If any stranger(s), Truckers, Utility Workers, Hikers, New Neighbours, Visitors, ask me where they can find a decent Chippy, I send them to Ray's.

You get the very best quality of food in larger than life amounts with Ray offering the tastiest fish and chips for a cheap price. There is no other fish and chip shop that can compete with Rays portion size. What you would normally get for a large bag of chips at other shops is Rays regular bag of chips. It is definately the greatest fish and chips you may ever walk into!!

Been going the rays for over 7/8 years since moving to Tameside I still make the journey from moving from Haughton green to Dukinfield 3 miles the food portions amazing never met such a nicer man so generous always giving you free things. Thanks Ray for many years to come!
