Reviews of The Beer House Bar & Kitchen
D. W.
Convenient location if you want a beer before getting on your train, although be warned that the bar isn't cheap; city centre and train station prices combined make it the kind of place just to have a passing pint. Only thing that let it down slightly while I was there was the overwhelming smell of disinfectant, not sure if they were having a deep clean or covering something up but it smelled like (clean) toilets throughout most of the bar. Over powering almost to the point of being able to taste the smell, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

One of the best (well, actually 3 of the best) pints of Guinness I've had. Bit pricey, but when they are this good, who cares.
P. G.
For somewhere called The Beer House it was sadly lacking in hand pulled beers, all dry so only keg available. The IPA was ok though, but too cold, as usual with keg beers. Service was friendly and quick. The space is far too echo'y especially with music, occasionally overlaid with train announcements which are inaudible.

Great location for the concerts. Played music of group we were seeing. Beer £6 a pint so bit Dear. Toilets clean and service good
B. T.
Very expensive! Apart from that nice team nice atmosphere. Serves it's purpose as a place to wait for your train.

Situated right in the midst of Manchester Victoria train station, tram stop and below the M.E.N arena the location is perfect. Inside they have used the original history of the building and fused it with some modern takes and it really creates a nice look. The glass dome inside is a feature you don't see very often at most places and the old tiles give a rustic and vintage feel about the place. There are plenty of seats and a good selection of food and drinks to choose from. But the prices are very high for what you would expect. Good place to come for a quick drink if you have hopped off the train but if you are staying somewhere for a while or going for food I would head to the printworks or northern quarter. Overall a lovely place with lots of character but with that comes a price to pay.

Great place for a beer when u get off/ on the train. Unfortunately there was only one member of staff serving when we arrived which lead to a long queue. She was amazing but it was hard for her. Another member of staff arrived after 20 minutes. Also the gents toilets were out of order. I will still return as these are temporary issues.

I would like to highlight Meryll’s service as she completely turned my day around. She is an absolute asset to your establishment and I would visit again purely because of her service. Afterwards I met Lynette who was equally as accommodating. I hope you know the gems you have in these two women
M. A.
Pints a little expensive but I guess railway stations are in this day and age. Other than that o enjoyed my pint before my train journey!
M. C.
Lovely place enjoyable visit will defo visit again next trip . Just used bar area on way to a pre booked restaurant. Great atmosphere nice staff
M. I.
I love to buy the gold coins, always been my favourite. The stores are very welcoming.
J. G.
Light airy bar and kitchen with spectacular domed ceiling.
A. P.
I love Starbucks but I wish there were more gluten free options for me
F. H.
Regular customer, always great service. Really enjoyed the new options of foods for lunch and sit in.
D. B.
Paid £5.59 for a pint of Doom Bar - don't know how you can justify this price for an average pint, having just had a pint of the same beer at a nearby pub for £4.40! I won't be going back to your bar any time soon and certainly wouldn't recommend.
S. R.
Pre concert drinks before going to see James Brilliant atmosphere with James tracks being played
A. P.
Great place to drink and forget about missing your train.
Fingers crossed we will be back an hour earlier so we can miss our train again
E. M.
Extremely Expensive at £5.10 for a 330ml bottle of Budweiser. On the plus side great location when waiting for a train at Manchester Victoria and staff were polite and efficient
J. G.
I don't like the smell. It always smells of disinfectant or something like that
T. H.
Good to stop off and have a pint whilst waiting for the train
C. C.
The place has a lot of history which is really cool! Good for a quick pint while waiting on your train
S. M.

i. t.
Nice place, wish there was more choice on the food menu.
J. C.
Popped in after been to the Christmas markets! Needed a pint! Shh what the missus doesn't tho! Haha.
Very nice Amstel Draught.
d. w. (.
This Starbucks always does my coffee exactly the way I like it 😁 It never tasted burned or too sugary
N. H.
Good atmosphere due to a madness concert being on next door. Strange smell of old gents toilets when entering.
C. M.
Decent pint but very expensive! Next time I'll run for the train 😀
B. K.
Paid nigh on £8 for a dinky portion of chips, cheese and bacon and a pint of coke. Cheese seemed to be more sauce than actual cheese, rather than something like a grated cheddar. Bacon and chips both felt undercooked. The portion was perhaps a "healthy" one but it felt like the whole thing over-promised and under-delivered for the price point and environment.
On the plus side, it's convenient for Victoria station, and was deserted despite it being midday. If you're after some very standard pub fare and are willing to pay for the convenience, then you could do worse...
A. N.
Great stop-off place while waiting for tram or train
K. J.
I was served by Sophia and she made my complicated order absolutley perfectly and in no time at all! So impressed!!
L. N.
My Latte was made with love 😍❤️
C. M.
Decent pint but very expensive! Next time I'll run for the train 😀
P. W.
Friendly helpful staff, quick service
M. D.
Nice cool beer 😋
M. D.
Good service and excellent staff
P. M.
The barmaid was very friendly & helpful with all our questions .
C. W.
Wildly expensive. Alright pint of guiness
M. W.
Decent meeting spot or if yiur waiting for train or to go in the arena
A. H.
Four stars for a decent pint of Ghost Ship, four stars for convenience if your waiting for a train or going to the Arena. One star for the overpriced, microwaved burger and oven chips. It's a sad day when the highlight of 'fully loaded' burger was the red onion.
t. b.
Handy for a drink when going to any events in the MEN area as located basically outside of it, was ok for a drink waiting time was a little longer than I thought possible could have done with a few more staff on considering the circumstances, but over all was handy not to experience.
S. C.
Nice place and very convenient if attending the Arena. Bar prices a bit steep though. £13.08 for a pint of beer, a cider and 2 packs of crisps!
R. M.
Typical prices for a major train station. Better decor, Victorian tiles etc, poor bathroom. Has Jaipur on tap though, which is a plus.
J. M.
Came here for drinks with a group of friends, convenient location and enjoyed the feel of the place, its got a nice hustle and bustle atmosphere about in the evenings. three stars because of the crazy prices but what do you expect for a station bar?
M. A.
Nice clean pub, staff were polite and helpful, food was great. I would rate 5 star but the male toilets are tiny and I found myself queuing to use them.
S. O.
Good place to call for pre gig drinks. Very convenient. Slightly over priced for type of venue but staff are polite and friendly :)
D. M.
San Miguel £5.95, quick pit stop before train, plenty of selection Stella, San Miguel, amstel, peroni, Heineken on tap, prices bit steep though
A. M.
I ordered a burger and it was tiny and overshadowed by a large bun, chips were less than desirable. Better for dinks than a place to eat, Better value at MacDonald.
K. B.
Very good service and friendly service. I was surprised at the cost of two single gin and tonics around £14-75. Very expensive for the type of bar it is.
D. H.
Gorgeous Victorian interior but when I got to the bar and found a pint of real ale and a bag of crisps cost £7.04 I was shocked. Not even paid that in London.
S. C.
Well kept beer, although somewhat overpriced. Food is edible, but lacklustre for the price and there was only the one veggie option. I'd go back for a beer, but I'd give the food a miss.
R. W.
A station pub so you should always set your expectations low! Good range of beers though so not the worst place to pass half an hour whilst you wait for your train.
J. P.
Nice place with a decent choice of drinks, and it's the best place to wait when you've just missed your train. Little bit expensive, but that's to be expected at a train station pub.
S. C.
Really nice place friendly staff clean toilets really spacious and modern right in the heart of Manchester Victoria train station £4.30 Amstel you can charge your phone laptop with plug or USB ports which is excellent did not have any food but bet that is excellent as well!
M.
Very nice inside and conveniently located, however the prices were downright ridiculous. Nearly £6 for a pint of cider, no thank you.
t. B.
Service was quick, food basic but edible. Plenty of room and good choice of drinks. Only one option if your vegi though.
J. T.
Two pints of lager and two burgers cost the best part of £30. Railway station so you're a captive audience.
R. T. (.
Good atmosphere, good staff, and poole tables 👌 Good place to get a drink whether you're waiting for transport or just nearby.
M. D.
Nice cool beer 😋
D. M.

M. M.
Good place for a drink before s gig. Little room to sit inside though.
P. M.
Don't remember going there, but looking at my bank statement, I had another pint before getting on the train.
D. D.

C. M.
Good place for a beer waiting for the train or to meet up before a night out.
