Reviews of The Oystercatcher
T. L.
Came here to celebrate my friends’ wedding. We shared a couple of dishes including a starter and 3 mains. All the food are delicious, service is good and reasonable price. Will definitely return if we visit Manchester again.
N. H.
Came here on Saturday evening with my boyfriend, I would argue that it was the best seafood we've had in Manchester! I'd high recommend getting a few dishes, we fancied trying out as much as we could and we couldn't fault a thing!
All of this was topped off by Brigitte's friendly and attentive service.
great food and perfect service - we can't wait to come back :)
L. J.
The freshest seafood you’ll get in Manchester! The oysters and the curry were probably my favourite dishes but everything else was really tasty. The atmosphere and service was also👌🏼
Highly recommend
R. C.
Seafood is all about the freshness and at the Oystercatcher that's what you'll find. We had a Seafood Stew and the special of the day "Grilled Whole Turbot" served with Salsa verde. Simply Delicious! Book early it gets busy fast.
S. M.
Amazing little restaurant, we could not fault a thing. Luka and Henry were fantastic hosts. The portions are a great size and not too expensive. The oysters tasted like we were at the coast and the fish was cooked to perfection. I'd recommend the curried fish dishes or the monkfish. We will definitely be back.
A. B.
If you like seafood this place is a must. Nicely decorated small restaurant so would advise booking due to the fact the Food was incredible and a good wine selection to match this place was busy.
M. K.
Excellent food, as always. If you like fish, this is the pla(i)ce to go!
Oyster and bloody Mary shots were a great way to start the evening, followed by good, if a fraction underseasoned, salt and pepper squid. Cured sea trout had incredible texture and flavour, while the moules marinière was about as good as it gets. Sea bream was beautifully cooked, soft and flavoursome. The crème brûlée and sorbet we had for dessert were both good too.
It's definitely not a budget restaurant, but it is good value given the quality of the food.
T. B.
Stew was fantastic. Starters were mouthwatering. Just very disappointed in the Seabass given it’s on its own and isn’t really justified in its pricing as it just feels like plain fish. Would recommend but unless they add more to the sea bass such as vegetables or a side, it doesn’t interest me.

Came here for a mid week catch up with friends, as soon as we entered the smell and ambience instantly sold it to me. Food was perfect, the restaurant was small and intimate. Staff were friendly and polite will definitely be going back again. 100% recommended.
L. C.
Had some post lunch drinks and oysters (obviously) with friends visiting from London, good vibe tasty food and fun manager who served us with great passion!
J. B.
Easy to book, nice relaxed atmosphere, quick and friendly service.
We had the sharer plater, with oysters to start. Everything was cooked right, tasted delicious especially the prawns and mussels.
All in good experience. Will definitely try it out again

Favourite Seafood restaurant! Exceptional Quality Food! Helpful and accommodating staff will try to look after walking in Customers the best they can but pre booking recommended!
M. B.
Really good fresh fish in Manchester. I absolutely reccomend it! I think you have to bool as it seems full most days. We got mussels with fries, bread and hake (in the picture) and piemento peppers as a starter. The bill came to roughly £60 because we also had 2 pints.

A great seafood focused restaurant in Chorlton. Based at the end of the main commercial district there's both inside and outside dining. Food wise it's top notch, the oysters fresh, the king prawns juicy ( just a tad overcooked on this occasion), amazing fish and chips and the lemon sole is fantastic. There's a good drink selection and the place is popular enough to warrant booking a table. Only negative was service which was friendly but a little blasé (though as the evening progressed the staff seemed a little more attentive). Would happily return!

Crab arancini and prawns were gorgeous!! Prawns were so soft and fresh
M. R.
This is tiny place but the seafood is amazing. The waiters wine recommendation were also perfect. The only slight down side is that when the front door opens in cold weather you definitely feel the breeze!. Highly recommended though.
h. m.
Absolutely delicious seafood. Choice, quality and lovely service. By that I mean proper service with a bit of humour reciprocated. Simple friendly ambiance which belies the quality of the cooking and food. Will definitely return . Great value as we indulged!!
H. J.
Seafood is excellent. Very tasty, fresh, best moules white wine sauce I've had. A little sharp but it makes it refreshing. However, do not get the steak, it was overcooked, despite asking for medium rare. Service is good, perfect for a date night. Prawns were to die for, tasted like lobster. Decent prices too.
F. A.
Brilliant little seafood restaurant in the heart of Chorlton. A definite must visit, as everything is done really well and super fresh.
K.
Heard about this little gem from friends.
Went with my wife who got the swordfish skewers, I had the sea bass.
Both were amazing, brought back memories of Greece for us
Top service with a smile.
We will definitely return again.
Thanks!
J. K.
Came here a few weeks ago
Had the swordfish kebab for main this was very uniquely presented (copied you soz chef) loved every bite !
Prawns to start were decent nice bit of bread alongside
The Mrs had oysters (someone had too) she loved them and has asked for oysters daily for 2 weeks since. Tried to book a table for 9pm tonight but wasn't available gutted.
Will be back soon excited to try something new
s. m.
Superb menu staff and atmosphere. Italian waiter was a tonic

Amazing seafood restaurant! One of the best restaurants i’ve been to in a while! Originally booked this restaurant for my Dad’s birthday due to the amazing reviews, and they were spot on! Everything was cooked to perfection, great selection choice, amazing service and in a friendly comfortable environment. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back
C. T.
Visited The Oystercatcher for the first time, and it definitely won’t be the last! A beautifully decorated, intimate seafood restaurant, with warm and welcoming staff. To start, we had the oysters and scallops, and they did not disappoint. They were both extremely light dishes that left us so excited for our main, the seafood platter. Sea bream, prawns, muscles, squid, tenderstem broccoli and sweetheart cabbage. This show-stopping main is a contender for the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life. Moderately priced for a large quantity of beautiful fresh seafood, will definitely be back!
c. b.
Selected this place for my daughter's 18th, she is a pescatarian. Really good service from start to finish - number of guests changed and we brought our own cake, all dealt with very efficiently.
Food quality was very high, the whole Bass and Bream cooked over coals were excellent, as were the swordfish curry and mussels. Good selection of starters and desserts too. Looking at some of the platters on other tables got us a little jealous too.
Big thanks to the staff.
k. L.
Fresh seafood restaurant. Small seating area so you'd better book your table.
E. P.
Just wow.
Everything is so fresh and tasty
I had the oysters then the seafood platter and seriously couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone that appreciates seafood.
Even the oyster bloodymary shot was delicious.
Thank you to Luca for being an excellent host.
E. F.
Excellence!!! we got the grilled seafood platter for 2, and the oysters, and we were both impressed with the presentation but mostly the quality and the taste! and then came the deserts!!! Creme broulee as I never had before, and very good brownie with icecream! In a casual environment, a tiny restaurant, but what a surprise by the service and food! And prices reasonable for the quality.
J. Z.
Utterly delicious. Attentive staff. Lovely cosy atmosphere. It is a small place so bear this in mind accessibility wise although they do have an outdoor area that is covered that looks lovely and accessible. Highly recommend this place for seafood and a relaxed evening out!
K. S.
Amazing eating experience (and it wasn't just because our daughter and her partner paid 😀).
I had the Scallops followed by the Tandoori BBQ'D Monk Fish sharing platter (Fennel Gratin - sublime and Red Cabbage & Tomato Salad - amazing dressing).
I was full but, valiantly managed an Affogato.
Our waiter was welcoming and had a personality which made our visit super special.
I wish I lived local as this would undoubtedly, be my new favourite.
K. M.
What a wonderful evening meal with a few colleagues at The Oystercatcher. Service was fabulous and all our meals were delicious 😋 The restaurant is small but this added to a great atmosphere and warmth. Every success to the team ❤❤
C. M.
Fish are finicky.
For some reason they don’t like being caught and eaten by pescatarians. Likewise, shellfish can selfish in this regard, unless a clam, mussel or oyster.
The situation then arises as to what to do with them once you’ve finagled them into the kitchen. The tried and tested way has been to batter them up and rest them side by side with chips doused in salt and vinegar.
So far, The Oystercatcher might be only the 4th seafood specialist restaurant I’ve eaten at in Manchester, so it wouldn’t be fair to compare it to the ones in Padstow or Saltburn-on-Sea.
In terms of location, it’s in delightfully wannabe bohemian Chorlton. So not far of a trip from Didsbury but a bit of trek if now living off junction 6 on the M56.
Staff are friendly, which is always good. In terms of the menu knowledge I tend to ask their thoughts when ordering. Something tells me that they may not have tried all the items but were able to verify spice levels suitable to my child.
In terms of food offerings, it’s predominantly a choice between grilled and fried (which is not a bad thing) with an aside for battered to cater for kids. Simplicity is the name of the game after all and here they are in the same ballpark as Randall and Aubin but with less emphasis on sauces.
Full marks to the choice of sides. Sometimes one can be so focused on the main that sides become an afterthought and let the side down. The cabbage, salad and fennel au gratin were scrumptious in their own right.
But what about the fish?
So, the sea bass ticked the boxes for flavour, but if being spoiled by having it boned and filleted in other restaurants just remember that you’re getting the whole sea bass, crispy skin, head and all.
The monkfish tandoori immediately caught my eye. It was not overdone, which is a risk with monkfish, but my thoughts were that it might have benefited from grilling in separate chunks albeit at the risk of drying it out. The spices were not overpowering so it toed a fine line. Yes, they do it better at Yahya in Deira, but we’re not in Dubai are we?
So all in all, a worthy addition to the collection of seafood restaurants in Manchester.
D. H.
Just what I was looking for being a seafood fan. Very fresh produce at fair prices. Service was quick and friendly, really unique presentation of food. Monkfish is my 'go to' fish and wasn't disappointed 😋
N. W.
Quite possibly the best seafood EVER! Highly recommend the prawns, crab cakes and squid to star and the sea bream main course! It was all made from good quality produce and cooked to perfection. The fish was fresh and tender with crispy skin on the outside. We will be ordering again, very soon!!
p. b.
I nearly fell off my chair when I ate the crab arancini, totally blown away. We also had the seafood sharer platter, never had seafood as fresh. One of the nicest meals I’ve ever eaten, can’t recommend enough
A. B.
Basic place, however staff awesome, food epic, service on point. Hey, they even charged my phone for me!! Highly recommend and will defo be coming back again to this little gem.
S. K.
We went for a friend's 30th and the whole experience was excellent. Even though they have no vegan options for a main course, they agreed when booking that they'd make a salad with some barbecued broccoli amongst other things
A few of us had the sea bream which was grilled beautifully and had a great crispy skin. The hispi cabbage to go with it was fantastic. Two of our friends ordered the tandoori monkfish which was the real standout dish. It was very cooked perfectly and had great flavour.
The staff were great and I'll be returning very shortly
S. K.
If you like seafood that is the place for you.
P. E.
10/10 superb visit. Brilliant fish restaurant in Chorlton. Despite being a meat eater thought I'd take the plunge and I wasn't disappointed. Suggest you do the same. Nothing frozen to see here , all fresh. Move along please.
K. T.
Really love this place, which is in the heart of Chorlton near posh delis and microbrewery pubs. The place felt very casual, which we appreciated for a Sunday lunchtime. The menu was exciting and they made use of their charcoal grill to make some perfect fish steaks. My partner had the tandoori monkfish and the char came out perfect on it, served with home made raita and a tasty red cabbage and carrot slaw. I had the Sicilian seafood stew which was fresh and tomatoey with loads of herbs and spices. I just had to scoop as much sauce onto the sourdough toast as possible, it was that good! Our starters and the dessert we shared were excellent too (see photos). Portion sizes were just right. The decor and person serving the food were very pleasant and friendly. I can't wait to come back as they change the menu fairly often/ have specials depending on the season.
T. G.
The best restaurant in Manchester! It’s the authentic tastiest seafood food and desert restaurant in Manchester so far. Congratulations to all the team. They know their onions ❤️
V. G.
Best Restaurant in Chorlton ever!!! I mean, if you love sea food, good ambient, superb staff, best chefs in town and good variety in wines, I mean, what else?
K. W. C.
Brilliant seafood restaurant and is a hidden gem in Chorlton. The seafood platter is definitely a must try item and it is totally worth the value.
R. C.
3rd time I've eaten here and it frankly doesn't get any better than this if you like seafood.
Modern decor, really chilled lighting and interesting artwork makes for an intimate experience.
Ordered Clam and Mussels Mouclade in a curry sauce which was delicious. Came with sourdough bread to mop up the best sauce I've had in ages.
Followed by the charcoal grilled black sea bream with salsa verde. Whole this was just brilliant, fish perfect, salsa verde perfect, best fish I've ever eaten.
Staff have been so good every time here. (Assuming head waitress) blonde girl quite tall just knows the place inside out and doesn't miss a beat.
Start to finish it deserves to be the best restaurant in South Manchester, it's that good.
R. W.
Amazing food and friendly staff. The seafood platter was cooked to perfection. Would recommend.
D. D. G.
We had a phenomenal experience at this restaurant last night. We were quite a large table (8) and every single one of us had exceptional food from starters, to mains and even the desserts.
The fish is very fresh, perfectly cooked and very tasty. Highly recommended to all!
J. H.
Popped in fairly early on a Thursday evening and pretty much picked up the last free table - would recommend booking in the latter part of the week
Great food and great wine. A cut above most small restaurants in the city in terms of quality with a good range of seafood.
H. T.
Superb food and very friendly service. A hidden gem
M. S. R.
Seafood cooked to perfection!!!

Too much squid, if have some fillets of fish will be much better

Good food and very attentive service that makes the visit an impeccable experience. Would recommend trying some of the wines during the visit, they have a well-chosen selection
M. T.
5* food - very tasty and you could tell the fish was quality produce.
3* service - food was getting sent to the wrong tables & would of had more drinks if asked

j. g.
Loved it x Relaxed Atmosphere & Friendly Service x Great Menu x
r.
The halibut special was amazing! Tasted reminiscent of a really good roast chicken dinner. The butter chicken sauce was indulgent and flavoursome. The mushrooms cooked to perfection and the fish was moist and flaky! I think it should make it onto the menu as a permanent item!
D. C.
Great food great service. Only complaint. The restaurant could have better decor. Perhaps paper table clothes to brighten the place up
K. S.
Absolutely delicious food, fantastic service. Literally couldn't of been a better meal. New favourite place!

Delicious seafood, brilliant service, would highly recommend it to everyone
J. G.
Conceivably the best fish EVER! Energetically suggest the prawns, crab cakes and squid to star and the ocean bream fundamental course! It was totally produced using great quality produce and cooked flawlessly. The fish was new and delicate with firm skin outwardly. We will arrange once more, very soon!!
S. F.
Lovely and cosy vibe! The food is delicious and not too expensive for sea food. Portions are medium-sized and chargrilled options are quite good.
k. w.
Tasty food with generous portions and excellent service. Would highly recommend

This place court my eye. Because of the reviews. I eat out alot and I know my food, it was all on piont and the service was great. I will be coming back again. Allso everyone else I spoke to had a lovely time
S. B.
Great seafood. Not posh but very friendly.
C. C.
Lovely catch-up meal with a friend atmosphere is lovely and quaint
J. B.
Fresh fish cooked simply and to perfection and friendly service. My only complaint was that we were only given a one and a half hour time slot. This slightly spoiled the ambience of the evening since we felt rushed towards the end.
K. B.
Really enjoyed the food here. There's quite a large selection of food and drink to choose from. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I will definetely go here again.
P. C.
The food was brilliant. I had the sardines as a starter and very generous portions, followed by the swordfish with Lyonnaise potatoes and kale with a chicken stock butter sauce. Very rich and very nice!
I couldn't fit a dessert in !!
The juicy IPA went down very nice as well!
E. E.
Our first time today and absolutely loved it, from the pardon peppers to the halibut main, we tried nearly all the starters and was blow away with the quality and service. It’s a must to visit xxx
J. L. (.
Lovely boutique, the food is fresh and tasty but done of the dish presentations feel lacking. The sea bass looked pretty lonely on a big plate.
J. M.
Did a click and collect of fish chips and mushy peas. The fish was excellent, the batter crispy and the peas lovely. The chips need work, massive huncks of potato that tastes blanched but not crispy and with an odd aftertaste which may have been the oil or potato variety. Meal would have been better without them
A. R.
Fantastic food, would thoroughly recommend! Staff were friendly, helpful and extremely attentive. Food was fresh and delicious served in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Spent summer hols sampling various chowders on the French Atlantic coast and I needn't have gone further than Chorlton, this was by far the best! My wife's cod was cooked to perfection. Can't wait for my next visit.
J. B.
Went here for my birthday, didn't have a table size for us but called back later after a cancellation and fit us all in which was great. The food was amazing, genuinely brilliant and cooked the way fish should be. If I didn't have such a difficult bunch of friends to organise things with then I'd be back much sooner but the main thing is I will most certainly be back. Love this place!
A. M.
Incredible food, every course was just absolutely amazing! Friendly staff, great service, the fresh fish was unreal. Highly recommend 👌
K. S.
Starters and mains were great and service was friendly and efficient. Sat outside which was warm and cosy.
M. C. M.
Great fish/seafood in an unassuming spot in Charlton. Varied menu with attentive service. Recommended
R. J.
First time visiting the place and had a fantastic meal and experience. Really well organised around Covid rules, more importantly the food was delicious, great selection of seafood dishes. And service was excellent also. Would recommend to anyone
A. K.
Quite splendid! We tried the tandoori monkfish, grilled sea bream, fish koftas and seafood soup. Each item was delectably prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Overall, highly recommended. The heating inside the restaurant isn’t the greatest.
M. G.
Incredible seafood restaurant - laid back atmosphere - friendly staff - we loved it.
Would recommend all the dishes we had really - scallops, oysters, moules frites and black bream
P. B.
Delightful fish of all kinds, super quality, beautifully cooked, great birthday celebration meal, laid back venue, coming back again soon!
J. W.
Had a really great meal here yesterday for my birthday. The staff were very friendly and attentive and had the table ready on arrival. We had the salt and pepper squid and oysters to start which were excellent. For mains we had the seafood stew and fish and chips, both of which again were excellent. Even the bottle of vinho verde was brilliant. Cheeky raspberry creme brulee to finish. The menu had great variety without offering too much. Can’t wait to go back. Would give 6 stars if i could!
A. P.
Hands down, best restaurant in Chorlton! Probably best seafood restaurant in Manchester. Great menu to choose from. Every dish beautifully prepared and presented. Worth every bit. We keep going back for more when we feel like that extra special treat. Lovely atmosphere, semi-formal, good for couples.
H. N.
We went to the Oystercatcher for our anniversary and were so impressed with our meals. We had sea bream and lemon sole, cooked over charcoal and they were absolutely delicious- cooked to perfection! The pistachio brownie was in a different league (and I have tasted my fare share of brownies over the years!) it is worth going back for that alone..and we will be! Staff were fantastic, ambience lovely.
Our only suggestion would be that some tables for 2 are very very close to each other so it does feel slightly cramped but, small point...Definitely recommended!!
P. W.
One of Manchester's finest restaurants and a bit of a hidden gem. Superb superhuman service (Our waitress managed to single-handedly work the whole restaurant). Amazing fresh seafood and desserts. Its great to have this place on my doorstep. Can't recommend it more highly.
k. m.
Still thinking about the Tandoori monkfish and hake koftas from last night. They were incredible. The flavours of both were so wonderful, that despite the accompanying tabouleh and salad, chilli broccoli and cucumber raita complementing them perfectly, you just had to keep eating them separately to relish the flavours. Having booked to see our friend's daughter there as a waitress, we were sad to hear she was poorly (get well soon Rosa), but the other waiting staff were brilliant. It was a wonderful night.
Thank you Oystercatcher.
R. H.
Just had the most amazing meal at the Oystercatcher. We had oysters and calamari to start. Both exceptional. I had the halibut for main and my wife had tandoori monkfish. Delicious. It's only a small restaurant so you may need to book ahead although there were people arriving while we were there without reservations and the staff were very accommodating. One of the best restaurants in Manchester.
C. V. P.
Very good service, very good food. Service was stunning! Congrats for the restaurant and employee's!
M. S.
A great selection of seafood. We had to sit outside, although there was protection against the wind, it was chilly.
M. C.
Great place for fresh grilled fish and seafood, great environment, great staff!
casual dining.
Had a great time.
R. D.
Beautifully cooked, good quality seafood. Great atmosphere and friendly service. The whole group of five raved about the meal. We’ll definitely go back.
M. H.
Had lunch here with my family and it was an absolute delight. Food was amazing and the staff were lovely. Cant wait to come back.
K. M.
Fantastic food, great service and lovely warm, friendly atmosphere - thank you for a really good evening !!

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere!

Proving it disheartening trying to book somewhere for our first anniversary..my other half found this place.
I had never heard of it apart from the one in Anglesey so after pulling up some reviews I soon got excited.
We rang ahead on the day to ensure there was a table available; despite it being the middle of the week the venue looked small and intimate.
Table confirmed we strolled around narrow cobblestone streets from the Firswood tramstop (8 min walk).
On entering I loved the ambiance...golden soft light emanating from candles and fairy lights..brown soft leather seats and sea themed abstract art.
We were greeted and asked to sit anywhere. I chose the window seat it being cooler. The waitress provided the menus stating the asparagus wasn't available or largers and the special was chargrilled lemon sole.
The drink menu consisted of some tasty craft beer and various bottles of wine and fresh juices. I swiftly ordered a juicy IPA and a large house white to accompany the main. Himself had a beautifully made flat white.
Okay the menu.. starters averaged £8 including mussels, prawns and squid etc. For this I selected the oysters..himself the tiger red prawns with sour dough bread.
The oysters were nice..however pricey for 3...the prawns looked lovely however I personally never understand the reasoning behind cooking/serving in its shell..soon as you messily dissect it all the flavour gets discarded with the shells..the bread was like a giant crouton..soaked in the garlic oil..hmm overall okay ...better value than the oysters.
For mains . These averaged around £20.. from halibut, steak, fish stew to cockle spaghetti. I almost went for the stew but monkfish is my weakness..here they served it in a tandoori style along with pickled cabbage and chargrilled baby gem lettuce for £22.
Himself had the chargrilled lemon sole which didn't come with any sides..surprising for £19..so some £3 skin on fries were added.
Mine looked pretty but the star of the show was physically overshadowed by the cabbage. There was very little monkfish especially once I removed it from the bone..tasty though. Himself didn't use the overly powerful parsley sauce..the fish was tender but lacked the lemon...
Finally dessert. Now these were reasonably priced at £6 each. I decided on the raspberry creme brulee..himself the pistachio chocolate brownie.
Mine was light and tasty however I imagined raspberries to be in the creme brulee not as a coulis on top..his brownie was the winner though..hands down the best brownie I've had in ages...
Overall this was a one man show..i.e one lovely lady working her butt off taking orders. Serving food and drink..the food came out at a good pace and the place had a lovely ambiance to it.
Will I be back? Despite enjoying ourselves the bill was pretty steep for what we got.. I personally think they need to readjust their prices and provide more value for money.
A. A.
mind blowing. the oysters and tiger prawns were highlights at this hip boutique. some of the best seafood i’ve ever had, and i grew up on the beach!
S. P.
Great quality food with excellent services
A. M.
Amazing food. Went for birthday dinner and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the cod main course with cockles and cauliflower in a beurre blanc and every element was cooked to perfection, and my oartnep had the squid which tasted wkndeful, like anything you'd have in holiday in the Mediterranean. Good selection of beers and wines too, I had the pinot noir rosé which I felt accompanied the fish perfectly. The desserts were incredibly tasty too, highly recommend the raspberry crème brulée (as it was my birthday the staff sweetly stuck a candle in it and sang!) and partner's brownie was very commendable too. Staff were very kind and friendly. We'll definitely go back- it's a little bit of Italy or Corsica on a main road in Chorlton!

It was really a nice discovery. First time there and we will come back for sure.
Really nice atmosphere (good music selection), friendly and helpful staff (the wine was a really good decision, we had two bottles), delicious fish.
What else can you ask for?

Excellent meal to celebrate my birthday. Mussels and salt and pepper squid to start followed by cod with clams and squid with romesco sauce. Really well cooked and served by attentive friendly staff. Will be back soon.

A lovely restaurant to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends. The food was delicious. I would recommend the seabream & my husband was pleased with the flat iron steak. The creme brulee was an excellent desert to finish the meal. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. I recommend that you give this new restaurant a go.

Was excited that a seafood restaurant had made it to Chorlton and was so glad it didn't disappoint. All our food was well cooked and tasted delicious. Recommend everything we had: chowder, mussels, sea bream and squid.
D. M.
Loads of character, waitress very pleasant and professional. Starters excellent, main meal very good but unfortunately I chose the wrong meal for myself, I must state there was nothing wrong with my meal.
I will return!

Wow! We had a wonderful lunch at the Oyster Catcher. Brilliant service, incredible food - the seafood platter was just perfect!!
T. C. C.
Lovely restaurant, we had the sharing platter which was a great selection of fish and seafood. All cooked perfectly and the quantity was perfect to share as a main for 2 people.

A friend recommended the oyster catcher to me and it did not disappoint. Went with my family so there was 4 of us. Shared starters and the salt and peper squid was particularly good! For mains I had the seabream which was excellent, tried all my family's mains and they where all very nice, the ravioli pasta was excellent and could tell the pasta was home made. For desert had the creme brulee which was very nice, had a few creme brulee in my time and this was one of the best. The service was also excellent my brother asked a million questions and she was very patient and answered them all very well. Would defiantly recommend and will be returning soon.
K. J.
What an amazing new fish restaurant. 10 of us sat out on the sunny terrace and had 3 delicious courses with cocktails and prosecco. The squid starter was excellent- crispy and perfectly done, followed by the vietnamese monkfish- also delicious with lots of fresh flavours. My husband had the sea bream (I think!) with salsa verde. Tasting both I couldn't decide which I preferred! We had the broccoli and chips as sides. Both great. I finished with the brulee- just delicious. A perfect end to a great meal.
Our children had fish cakes and homemade fish fingers and both had clean plates.
Staff were friendly, attentive and super patient with the kids.
I couldn't recommend the Oystercatcher more. We will be back soon!
L. S.

(Translated) The prawns are delicious. The squid meat in the squid ring is not too solid, and the taste is average. If the fish is grilled, the fish meat is quite fresh, but the sauce is average, and it feels very primitive. I'm really not used to the taste of oysters. Will visit the shop again.

(Translated) Small family restaurant at the top!
We enjoyed the Scottish oysters (£9 for 3), the fish and seafood dish for two (£55), the very good white wine too; perfect and friendly service.

(Translated) Hidden gem, with limited seating, offers great fresh seafood, starting with the teacher's oysters. There is no shortage of Fish & Chips and Moules Frites (with cream, sigh). Spartan but accurate service, affordable prices.
