Reviews of Vermilion

Really thank full to Mr. Iqbal Ahmed for hosting such an amazing evening for all us.
It was simply one of the best, no doubt about it. I would love to come back again, which I am sure that I will. Thanks for make us feel like we are not far from home, our mother land Bangladesh.
Indeed it was one of my best dining so far. Service was very professional and helpful. Vermilion really do raised the bar of my food experience from now on.
Indeed you are a pride of Bangladesh.

Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. The staff couldn't do enough, they were lovely. Most importantly the food was delicious!

Beautiful location; overpriced food.
The place was gorgeous. The staff were very friendly. The food was experimental; sort of fusion between Pakistani and southeast Asian cuisine. They take some risks, but not enough, and they don't usually pay off. Some of the dishes we ordered were good, but not great. The rest were meh. I would rate it higher, but I feel the food is a bit overpriced. You are paying almost double what you would pay in a typical restaurant. ~£20-30 for a main and ~£10 for a starter.
You are paying for the experience. If you want to splurge on a nice looking restaurant with an Asian-ish vibe. Then sure, it's a good place to bring someone to impress and just chill. But if you actually want good food, I would try somewhere else.

Came yesterday for valentines day with a friend and booked in advance via opentable. Front of house staff very welcoming and told us to go upstairs. Left a bit clueless upstairs until the waitress came. Seated and was asked if we were ready to order after 5 minutes and we weren’t!
Food came at a decent time but the rice took very long we were worried the food would get cold. Slightly dissatisfied with the portion size for the price being paid, but I guess the atmosphere makes up for that. £70 for two drinks, two curries, nan and rice. Meh.

incredible spot. FINE DINING experience. Treated like luxury from the moment you step in, food is out of this world, especially the prawns. Located just outside manchester city centre with a huge carpark where you can leave cars overnight, near the Etihad stadium for pre or post game food. Atmosphere is immaculate with lots of instagrammable spots.

We came to Vermillion after an amazing previous visit.
We were left slightly disappointed. We were never tended to, had to keep grabbing the attention of staff for drinks.
We asked for a bottle of water for the table, it was brought with no glasses, which we then had to wait 10 minutes to get the attention of someone!
When our order came, 2 dishes were missing, which then when I told them, the proceeded to only bring 1 of the 2 missing dishes.
The food is lovely, however it was luke warm, which took away how delicious it actually was.
The place itself is beautiful and after such a wonderful first visit, I felt let down.

Very beautiful place, outside is very beautiful at night, they have a big car park with parking attendant, parking for the restuarant is free. The outside area is lit very well and the front of the restuarant is gorgeous, once entering you are greeted by receptionists, and theres a small waiting area on the left where you can view the auto rickshaw and various other items. They have a elevator to go to the dining floor which is the second floor and i believe weddings and functions are held on the first floor. The interior of the dining floor is very well decorated and bright lights fill the room. The popadoms selection and sauces were different to those you find in a normal indian restuarant so was pretty nice, the starters were all lovely and my favourite was the momo. I just wanted to eat more and more of them, for the mains the food was very delicious, the mocktails they do is a good selection and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and thanks to the manager for looking after us all. Will be back in near future hopefully. The top floor above the restuarant is like a bar type chilling area which was pretty cool, nice area to take photos too.

This place never fails to surprise me.
Quite simply one of the best restaurant experiences in Manchester.
Delicious food and excellent service set in lavish surroundings.
It would be hard to find better.
D. V.
Very much recommend! Little expensive but the taste is too good !! Miroslava has done good hospitality! Thank you .
J. H.
Absolutely love this place. The food is excellent and the decor is so inviting! The pods in the bar upstairs are so good, can't wait to go back.

Whent there for a friends birthday , staff was great food was good howether for the price we paid at the end expected better maybe it's because they was cooking for 40 of us maybe when i go back with my girlfriend I will have a different opinion on the food that being said the prawns where lovely tho . Not a variety of cocktails to choose from ended up with some whiskey one in the end because that's the only appealing one they had to me howether they have all your spirits and beers to.choose from . Definitely recommend to try this place .
M. I.
Came here on a Saturday night for the wife's birthday and the service was exceptional! It was extremely busy at the restaurant (as to be expected) but we had booked in advance and was taken to our table straight away.
As to the food, it was spot on. The starters we had were very well made and the Lamb Karahi was excellent. The menu is very limited and only has a handful of Indian options so it may not be for everyone. The Lamb Shank starter was phenomenal and deserves a separate shout out!
The only negative was that the music was being played so loudly that we had to practically shout at each other to communicate!
A.
Attended a family wedding recently and the event on the whole was fantastic: beautiful decor; attentive staff and wonderful food. Well worth the vast expense spent by my family and the venue really added to the occasion.
Two areas for future consideration, firstly the acoustics were off, high vibration of the speakers meant at times the announcements were inaudible. Secondly, differing levels of service - we had our starters refilled on our table, many others were told refills weren't available - which they should have been.
My experience was outstanding. A number of others were much less taken.
S. H.
Perfect food, everything was so lovely. The drinks were amazing and the service was great.
A. N.
Came here after a recommendation, staff were really friendly and helpful, couldn’t ask anything more from them. However … for 5 people, 3 curries, 5 naans, drinks all round, and a steak coming out to just under £180 .. food was over priced, atmosphere was almost non existent as there were only just half a dozen people sat down and portion sizes were rather disappointing
I understand what they’re trying to do, it’s a very ‘upmarket’ restaurant with small portions but a big price tag but I could have gone elsewhere and it would have cost me atleast half of what I paid and probably enjoyed the food a lot more,
Quite disappointed but I’m hoping if I come next time it would be better ?
S. M.
I had so high hopes about Vermilion, because my brother had his birthday party there a long time ago. You fast forward to now and the building looks gorgeous, upstairs seems like an amazing place, the ambiance has the party vibes. That is where it ends for the good. The food was OK but the service let me down. I don't know whether that is due to the pandemic but to have a fabulous night in a restaurant, I believe that it all comes down to the following: the food, service, the setting and ambiance. The service was a total let down. I don't want a waiter or waitress to walk when taking an order that is just unprofessional then take 10 minutes to get drinks. I don't want a waiter or waitress to say that they can't make changes to a person's nutritional requirements. That is lacking common sense. Food allergies have to be taken into consideration straightaway, not taking 10-15 minutes to make a decision. It was a mess.
S. A.
Anna was our waitress tonight and she was great. All round good experience from the lady on reception to the bar staff. Food was on point. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back.
N. S.
Wedding in COVID-19 restrictions.
Nevertheless, the hall was very nice.
The food and table service was excellent. Cannot overstate the quality and taste of the starters and main dishes
Some aspects of the COVID-19 measures could have been better enforced.
Overall a great place and look forward to visiting again once COVID allowed us
M. I.
Decorations and service is very good but I didn't like the food taste. I tried Lamb karahi and fish pakora and as being Pakistani origin the karahi taste wasn't near the original lahori taste. Fish pakora was overfried with more masala on it than fish. Overall not bad. One thing I will very much appreciate is prayer room with wudu facility and prayer mats. Thanks for that.
T.
asian food in a nice fancy aesthetic place. can’t go wrong
M. A.
Fantastic decor, great staff.
Prices, however aren't justified. I've ate far better food at 1-10th of the price.
Also I've had enough rubicon mango to know when your serving it as the mango molecular mocktail + smoke for £9.50
If you aren't bothered about price and just want a ok meal in a great surrounding then this is the place for you.
If you are looking for fantastic food that's worth your money, this isn't where you want to eat.
I. W.
Perfect place to take that special someone in your life. The ambiance & aesthetic are bar none. The food was ight though & really pricy but I feel like that’s how it goes sometimes with restaurants that are really pleasing to the eye. I’d recommend trying the mocktails as well if you need to be a sober driver home.
J. C.
Fantastic Asian decor, you could be in a Thai Palace so great is the opulence, this is mainly the colour red as befits the name Vermilion, French for a shade of the colour red.
B. P.
Great food, Naga chicken was really spicy 🔥 so highly recommended if you like things super hot. Chicken Manchurian was really tasty as the indo-chinese option.
Lots of space so social distancing was really well maintained.
D.
A cozy atmosphere with the right ambiance...last time I went though was during lockdown with reduced service including the bar and a reduced restaurant menu and footprint.
If you are looking for good pan Asia menu in a relaxed and above average opulence, then do pay A visit.
A.
At first I was confused if this place is a club/restaurant, hilarious that I took my 80 year old mother and father here.
Actually v good food, v different menu, incredible service, only regret I should have tipped more 🤑🤑🤑
C. E.
As usual this place is my go to place . Beautiful decor and ample space for parking. Beautiful fusion of this and Indian cuisine.

We booked in advance their was nothing on website regarding dress code on arrival was turned away so had to go to nearby supermarket to purchase jeans too much hassle traveled quiet far could be more pacific on website what. Is allowed very confusing Nice food 4*** for food

There was alot of hype about this place so we thought we'd go and see what the fuss was about.
Atmosphere was really good, the decor was really nice and staff attentive and friendly.
Unfortunately the food let it down. We ordered few different dishes and apart from the butter chicken everything else lacked flavour and was not tasty at all.

Have yourself some fancy, intimate dining at Vermilion Restaurant & Cinnabar
Vermilion is very fancy and is perfect for intimate dinners and full-groups in the private dining areas. Per its name, it’s been decorated in a deep red with black finishings and a really nice smell. With their menu, you have a lot to choose from and can make your tastebuds travel, primarily to South Asia.
With that in mind, we tried out the ‘Vermilion Signature Set Menu’ [£39 per person], because might as well try a variety of items. There was a lot of food that you’re probably going to be taking home a doggy bag, which just means you get to enjoy it more
To begin with;
Poppadoms with mango, yoghurt sauce and spiced onions - The mano sauce was niiiiceee. It was like the normal mango sauce but they’d added some other spices to it that made it delicious. Thankfully we paced ourselves otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to get through the rest
Salmon Tikka - It was a flaky salmon, and cooked well with a nice charcoal effect. It had subtle flavours and was even better dipped in the imli sauce
Aloo Tikki - Smooth potatoes in a mini patty, what’s not to love?!
King Prawn - All we remember was that it was crunchy
Papaya Salad - Now this was spicy and caught us by surprise. The papaya taste was nice but maybe a little too much Far Eastern spices which overpowered the rest
The mains of;
Dum Ka Gosth - The lamb was really soft and you could tell it was fresh. This was by far our favourite dish
Dumpukht Murgh - This was a little like butter chicken
Nawabi Jhinga Biryani - The prawn (from Seamark) in this was humongous taking up pretty much the entire plate. It was a bit more effort as needed to break off the shell etc but the rice with it had such a nice flavour
Bhindi Do Pyaza - This was a really good vegetarian option with the perfect balance of flavours
Dal Tarkha - Classic done well and really creamy & soft, kind of like it had been blended
Accompanied with rice and naan bread
To finish;
Halwa (or Soji as some may call it) - It was mellow, soft and warm tasting very authentic just as a South Asian grandma would make it - it’s not as sweet as Indians may like, but it’s the right level for Pakistanis who generally don’t make it as sweet :)
Mango Cheesecake - Clearly halved from its counterpart in the plate next door. This was pure yum and provided the true sugar rush. The chocolate sauce that came drizzled helped with providing that variety
Ice cream - Perfectly complementing the other two
The menu may seem a little pricey for the type of food being received but with the copious amounts received for two people, you’re likely able to cover 2 meals for this one set menu.
Recommendation Rating: High
Service: High
Price: ££
Halal: Full menu

Really tasty food and nicely presented. Service and general treatment by staff was amazing. The atmosphere is great. If there was anything negative at all to say, it would be that's a little dark, a little white light would be great, but not big deal.
A. M.
Came down for my mums birthday and had a table reserved. Staff were really friendly and helped with anything we asked.
Food was good for a buffet but were surprised that there was no menu to order from (guess its sunday). Wide choice of food for the buffet, cashew chicken was amazing!
Definitely worth coming along!
C. W.
Went to a traditional Nigerian wedding here and it was fantastic!! Everything was extraordinary and extravagant, looked prefect. There were plenty of staff around at all times to help with any needs and make sure all guests were catered too, as well as making sure everything went as the families had requested. The food served was buffet style with this constantly filling up the dishes so everyone had the size portions and seconds they wanted. Overall, everything looked fantastic and the pictures will all be amazing.

The service was very good and food was served quite swiftly. One thing that was a little distasteful was repetitively being asked whether we're ready to order our drinks, despite asking to be given a few minutes to decide. We were still asked at least 5 times by 3 different members of staff. Other than that, the service was really good.
The food was tasty. We enjoyed the main dish "desi lamb curry", it was perfect with the soft butter naan. The food is quite pricey, soft drink portions are a terrible size considering the price, but I guess one should expect a pricey bill before visiting.
We were also given a tour of the bar upstairs by Richard who was very friendly, as was Muhammad who gave us a tour of the bottom floor and banqueting hall.
The decor of the place is awesome, highly recommended, but not for a regular visit as it's quite pricey.
A. M.
Great looking restaurant. With fantastic service and really friendly staff. It offers a mix of Indian and Thai food. Food itself is very tasty but not spicy enough for some tastebuds. Great place to visit on a special occasion, anyone that visits will not be disappointed. The price is quite high but that is the reason it is a little bit more suitable for special occasion visits. Overall very happy with my time at Vermilion.
F. K.
Fantastic decor, I would say its world class. The mocktails are second to none. The bhel puri was tasty but they had put too much chilli traditionally you wouldnt put so much, whats disappointing was that the waiter didn't mention it, they did get it changed for us. At such places this sort of detail matters! Also i couldn't taste the chicken in the spring rolls, the tawa prawns were tasty so as the butter chicken and the fresh naans. Overall I would recommend it but there is room for perfection.
A. C.
To begin with Mahid was excellent! The whole evening from the reception staff to the restaurant floor staff were warm and welcoming they all had a smile on their faces, food was excellent, the stunning decor of the place! Definitely coming again. We even got a tour of the whole business which was refreshing and a possible wedding venue next year? Thank you to Vermillion 👌
N.
We visited vermillion for our daughter's 18th birthday, the restaurant is very smart with very friendly staff. The food is delicious, and by far the best I've ever tasted! They also have a lounge upstairs, for private functions. I'm really glad that we chose to dine @ the vermillion, and will definitely be visiting again.
C. D.
Visited here for a conference with work. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was very clean and had fantastic decor. Perfect venue for parties, weddings, conferences etc. The food they served was delicious, possible the best Indian food I've ever had! Plenty of parking available outside. They had a lift inside too. Appeared to be great access for anyone with disabilities too. Overall I loved it!
A. L.
Haven’t been here for about 12 years, called in without a booking, was made to feel very welcome. Last time at vermilion it was a Buffet style dining.
The interior is truly amazing. We wasn’t disappointed with the menu, 2 small plate with salad is more than enough for one person if they don’t want to share, or a large plate as a meal, you can share like tapas if you wish, the food tasted excellent. I hand lamb shank it was so tender, melt in your mouth tasty.
Would I go again yes. Would I recommend yes
Thank you
m. a.
Starters were decent. Curry was really good and the garlic naan.
Only down fall was the steak they didn't cook it right and by the time the new one came back I couldn't eat it so it went to waste.
S. H.
Food was excellent and service was very courteous too. The resturaunt was located oretty easily and there is plenty of parking. The decorations and atmosphere defiantely has a zen vibd to it. Even the zen music was on point. The food was a fusion of indo china, thai and indian dishes which are cooked to perfection. We ordered the mix grill sizzler which is cooked with nice spices. We also had the papaya salad. Massamam curry and tamarind duck. Im sure if this was in the city centre it would be much busier but its kind of in the middle of no where.
I. A.
Lovely place.
Used the Banqueting suite. Service was top notch.

Found this upmarket Indian/Asian fusion restaurant on Google maps whilst visiting the National Cycling centre. The interior is fantastically decorated and has an interesting atmosphere. The dim lighting did make it a bit hard to read the faint menu font. The service was prompt and professional but not overbearing. The bathroom facilities were well maintained. We found the menu to be varied enough and when it came the portion sizes were plenty. The food was well presented and tasted brilliant. Be aware the quality of the food comes with a higher price and that a service charge will be included in your bill (10%). This restaurant is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy this style of cuisine.

Really nice place love decor and atmosphere!
Staff mega friendly and helpful but most importantly food was really nice we ve been in many places but this one is the one to definitely come back to x

5 star service from all the team felt very welcomed. Massive thank you to abby who served us and Miroslava. Also a huge thankyou to darcy who got us booked in last minute. Really was the perfect meal for me and my fiancé. Thanks again vermillion. Brilliant as always.

I have been too vermillion, when I arrived at the elegant place I was shocked in amazement. We were told our table would be on the 2nd floor so we took the the elevator. When we arrived on the second floor, we were guided by a waiter to our table, we were astounded. It was a table for six and we were a group of 5 there was a vast cinnabar where there were beautifully set out cushions, and I could lie down in any direction and my head or feet would not come off the mattress, and it was exceptional . The seats were extremely comfortable and they provided us very smooth and soft hanger chief’s, the food was very nice and the glasses were exceptionally fancy. We came on a birthday and we had the cake at the restaurant at the end once we had finished our food, the waiters put sparklers on the cake for us which looked flabbergasting.
It was a “outstanding experience”
I strongly recommend this restaurant.
S.
I used to work here at one point, the difference between the events food is from the earth to the moon, if you've been to events here good, but I strongly recommend you visit the restaurant as well, the staff is highly professional and the food and drinks are amazing ❤️
Z. R.
Decent food but highly over-rated and over-priced. We paid £350 for a table of 4 and honestly it wasn’t worth it. The decor, atmosphere and service were all great, just the food which I expected to be much nicer than it was. Distinct lack of flavour, tasted like it had been sat out in the kitchen and reheated or something. The grilled meat definitely didn’t taste like it was freshly off the grill. This may well be down to the batch but the tiger prawns had probably no more than 2-3 full bites of meat inside a 10 inch shell. The spicy options weren’t very spicy and the drinks were also very average.
Edit: I appreciate the response but I honestly doubt anyone could order a 3 course meal at these prices for £30-£40 unless they have a small appetite. The lamb chops alone, which we ordered as only one of the starters are £16.95.
Regardless, thanks for the response.

We had our wedding here.
Venue is beautiful and decor really makes this place a stand out venue. In terms of decor and venue this is the best in Manchester.
We used the Abacus room which can be divided into civil ceremony and round tables for a sit down meal. We had 50 guests. The room has a connection to play our wedding playlist which was a big bonus as we didn’t want a DJ.
Staff need improvement. Lots of problems with mis-communication, different people will tell you different things. Makes things very stressful. They did take payment over the phone for 1st deposit, then refused at the 2nd one so forced us to go there. When we came there they wanted cash for the deposit, we had another meeting so couldn’t leave the venue and come back again so they said to come another time with cash, which I forgot - and my husband had to go to a cash machine on the wedding day as they became aggressive about it being cash and not a credit card hold or bank transfer. Very inflexible.
On the day things were ready on time. Room was tidy and all place settings were done in plenty of time. The food was incredible, great textures, flavours and choice, standout was the lamb, it was incredibly tender and cooked in a beautiful curry. The chef did an outstanding job!
At the end of the wedding they threw the leftover food from the wedding into the bin instead of giving it to the guests or donating it to a shelter. I felt outraged that they did this without asking but I ignored it as best I could to enjoy my day.
They said you need to tell them in advance if your faith prohibits or you choose not to throw food in the bin. Hope this helps someone else.
M. B.
Such a nice vibe. The man at the front of house first floor desk on 08/02/22 deserves a pay raise. Great hospitality and made us feel comfortable.
M. A.
The deco is beautiful. The food is great. But if you like spicy food make sure you tell them. Level 2 spice is nothing. Service is great and the atmosphere very relaxing and romantic.
A. J.
The food was great, very authentic with a nice ambiance.
R. S.
Attended a friend's wedding here and everything from food to the decor was amazing.
S. S.
The food was really good my friends enjoyed it. I ordered a hot curry pot but was a bit salty.

We had our Nayyars Solictors annual Christmas party 10th December 2021.
The food was fantastic, the service from all members off staff was fantastic and all staff had a fabulous evening.
Our special thanks are for Reece,Kay an Mahid - the customer service was excellent and we would love to come back again

I wouldn't go for dining though banqueting hall is good. I liked the prayer room they provided for hall guests.
A. P.
Great christmas menu, masaman curry was awesome. Good entertainment upstairs and wicked cocktails. Be sure to reserve a big booth with a bed to chill on. 😌
C. K.
Very nice venue. Nice and quiet on a random Wednesday. Fab settings and great food. Very helpful staff showed us around the venue rooms aswell
B. B.
Nice ambient, nice place but the food choices it nothing to talk about, l think in my honest opinion, the local take away serve better dishes. All our guess can't be wrong, only the experience of been served in a big top restaurants, nothing else. The price is redicilus too. I certainly will not recommend.
C. S.
This place is amazing, I love the how the staffs coordinate themselves and the environment is good. They have nice food and a good menu
D. R.
One of the best curries I've ever had in my life. My wifes cousin had her nikah ceremony here in August 2017. And we returned on their anniversary a few weeks back to have the same food they booked for the day. It was fantastic, easily one of my favourites. My lamb was cooked to absolute perfection, fell apart in your mouth. The naan breads were excellent as was the duck starter and onion bhajis! The wife had a prawn curry and by all accounts was fantastic. Will be visiting again when we came back to Manchester!

First time i visited for a friends wedding. The venues customer service is first class.
At the wedding, they had a manager ensuring all waiters are provided a top service to each table. Everything was soo organised from the moment the food came out.
H. K.
It looks really nice inside, the food was amazing and the staff were really kind, approachable, helpful and happy.
It is a very healthy work environment and you can see everyone is enjoying what they are doing and I really appreciated everyone's work, loved it.

Vermilion -Manchester
Visited this venue as a guest for a wedding reception. Venue was beautifully decorated, staff were so polite & accommodating, hall was thoroughly spacious, lots of props & open areas to take pictures. Must be top ten wedding venues in the UK I’ve visited for sure.
Thank you for a lovely evening... Team Vermillion... 💪🏻

A beautiful venue. Has a large car park. It has recently changed hands and this was reflected in the menu which was quite restricted. Some portions were on the small side. Extensive drinks list. Friendly staff. Seats and tables very comfortable.
S. S.
Amazing decor, great service and good food, looking forward to coming back again!
A. L.
The food is as always very good. The car park and other function rooms are really quite well laid out. The decor and the whole ambience is a very positive experience and this would be a place that you would view as being a good experience. It is rare that you find a place that both looks good on the outside and serves good food - close to the stadium and other amenities. You don't have to struggle in the city center or on Winslow road. Good place for groups or more intimate dining. Cost can be an issue but it is a good quality place.
A. R.
Great venue! Quiet and highly decorated interior. Good food and friendly staff
My recommendation: try it!
E. D.
Very nice place I really did enjoy it,it was my first time and I bet not the last aswell they give us time to choose and to order.
W.
We loved the decor in the restaurant. Nice vibe played decent music and the staff were lovely. We had 7 small plates and dessert enjoyed all of them
M. M.
I visited Vermilion for the first time today as part of a table of 8, we were all very impressed by the service provided and would most likely visit again. Our main waitress was Georgia; she was very patient, friendly and granted our every request. The service she provided was definitely 5/5, it’s just a shame the food let the rating down a little bit.
Z. K.
Super loud music and over seasoned food. Lovely decor though and great service. Definitely somewhere to check if you want to take pics for the gram
S. E.
Food was better than average but can tell there is quite a bit of wear and tear...nice affordable buffet.
F. Z.
Impressive fancy place for a dinner. The food is brilliant. The service for Saturday night, not so impressive. The menu is good plenty of options and the price is decent. Saturday night we had a dinner for 6. We were seated immediately, the waiting staff was attentive, until they took the orders. After that our drinks did not arrive till after the starters. The mains were quite delayed, one dish was wrong and one didnot come till everyone finished the food. This felt more of a casual dining than a fine dining experience.
S. W.
Plenty of parking close by. Decor in restaurant was dark and moody, the chairs and tables were quite close to each other. The place was quite busy for a Saturday so I would book ahead. The menu consisted of Asian curries and noodles. There was no beer on tap .. only sad bottled beer like singha or tiger. The food was a pleasant surprise , the spicy food had a kick. The pad Thai was not oily and the prawns were crunchy fresh. Service was a let down , had to call for attention a few times. The prices are higher than average Manchester restaurants and I would the overall experience doesn't match the price. Especially when there was a mandatory 10 percent service charge.
M. I.
Attend for a wedding, beautiful venue and decent food.
T. L.
A lovely place.we had a top night.food good and entertainment was good..thought it was expensive tho.
H. H.
Recently went for lunch with the family. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and were quickly escorted to our seats. There's a tasty range of drinks on the menu, I had a hard time choosing! The buffet was all beautifully arranged and there was a nice variety of dishes to try, including dessert. They were all generally very tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere and decor were impressive as well.
P. P.
Food was good, did wait long
S. C.
Good experience at this place, good food and service.
B. D.
Excellent atmosphere and super attentive service. The menu was crisp and yummy. Will easily recommend this restaurant to my friends. Affordable prices and generous meals. Keep up the great work.

We decided to hold our wedding reception here and it was by far the best choice we made. Wes and the team went above and beyond I cannot begin to express my gratitude. The whole event was planned and executed to perfection. Initially we had reservations about the food from the reviews we received. However the food tasting session blew us away!! The food was incredible on the day exactly as presented in the food tasting session. The knowledge, expertise and guidance provided by the team made our day, that much more magical. Thanks you to Wes especially for his hands on approach to making sure everything was perfect for us. It was a pleasure working with the team. Thanking you so very much.
R. M.
Too expensive for the food that was served. But the food was quite good.
t. f.
The place was so nice ,cozy and high class type of restaurants As for the food it was medium quality I expected higher and more varieties as well but the staff was so friendly and professional .
A. A. G.
I was here for a wedding and the food was incredible and the venue was even more amazing! Really enjoyed the service and the spaciousness
G. P.
Visited vermilion with my family. It wasn't a busy night so we had the waiters full attention who was brilliant as he remembered what each person ordered when bringing the food out. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great and the interior creates an intimate experience. Food was great and would definitely recommend.
H. A.
Lovely experience for our anniversary. We got married there twelve months ago and went back today for our anniversary and it was lovely. They even gave us a desert with congratulations on. Lovely thought ❤️
M. I.
Very tasty food and amazing service from BEN :) the place is beautiful and as a wheelchair user access and toilets were perfect :) will go again and again, thanks :)
A. B.
Tasty and gourmet, very nice staff!
P. G.
Wow , food fantastic, staff very attentive, and the surroundings are stunning, this is a hidden gem , and only 10 minutes from city centre, well worth the taxi ride , and special shout out to Grace .
H. C.
Very delicious food. Friendly staff
T. R. A.
I'm having my wedding here and we just had our family engagement party meal. The venu is stunning. The food is delicious. The staff are so friendly and make every process so easy, they're experts. So glad we found this place ❤️
P. R.
Excellent food here...the Indian food taste was a bit hit and miss few years ago but has come back to great levels with authentic taste. The other fusion food is very good too. As far as the ambience goes it's still one of the best and one of the best bars around. Hope the cards do increase eventually. They have kept it going for a while. Great place for a meeting and events too.
Y. R.
Stunning interior, not at all what you expect when you turn up. Bit like a casino, quite dark and moody inside, no windows or natural light. Its basically an industrial shed with a £3M fit out. Really beautiful. We went on a midweek night so it was practically empty therefore cannot really comment on atmosphere or service. We had no complaints. Food was excellent with a real range of Asian styles. I'm not an expert on Indian/Thai/Chinese but certainly enjoyed what I had. It was quite expensive but the company credit card covered it without too much trouble. One for a special occasion if you're footing the bill.
A. A.
Loved the restaurant. Food was yummy. Service was really good. Food arrived pretty much straight away. Even gave me a compliment dessert as it was my birthday !! Appetizers need more variety tho but overall nice restaurant and nice food.
F. A.
Attended a wedding party with 30 people covid-19 secure rule. Beautiful venue. There are few different halls available with different themes and designs. Bar and restaurant also on site. Beautiful place for spend a nice evening with attractive outside views. Perfect for friends and family. Amazing place. All disable facilities available. Lift to second floor. Disable parking also available.
S. P.
The service, layout, decor, venue.. just everything is so posh/fancy and makes you want to visit again and again. Only downfall was that they do not have many vegetarian options on the menu, therefore I didn’t enjoy the meal. There were only 2/3 things I could order and they didn’t taste that nice. The bill came to £50 for just the two of us when we didn’t actually order that much food, rather expensive.
R.
Great venue for Asian weddings!
A. M.
The decor is lovely carpark and function rooms well laid out. Loved the food been their a few time's. Staff are always friendly. Brilliant also as a venue for birthdays and weddings. Just love this place
C. Z.
Incredible venue. Great food!
A. S.
I booked this restaurant for my boyfriends birthday and reading over the reviews I wasn't sure how our experience was going to be because there are mixed reviews! However we went and it was amazing! We have never been to anywhere like it - the design of the restaurant was amazing and the staff were very helpful and polite! I told them it was his birthday when I booked and they made our table very special which was very good of them! We went on a bank holiday Sunday night and it wasn't very busy at all and the bar upstairs was shut but they did tell us that it is a lot busier on weekends which is when the bar upstairs is open! They have cocoon type beds upstairs for you to lie on which me and my boyfriend loved! We have never been anywhere like it and the food was amazing!!! I am returning again with the girls from work for our Christmas night out because after telling them about my experience there! Although it's not the cheapest meal it certainly is worth it especially for a special occasion!
D. B. (.
Very lovely venue, although we diddnt have any food here it smelt incredible. The cocktails were delicious! It was quite busy though and the bar staff served quite slowly, but otherwise a lovely evening.
J. S.
My friend recommended this place to me, so I decided to pay a visit. We were late on arrival, arriving close to the 14:15 cut off time for the kitchen. But the staff were so accommodating and understood we came from quite far. The setting was amazing and the food was exquisite. The lamb was cooked so well and had a tender texture. The only thing I would change is the mocktail, I ordered a mango tango and although it tasted okay, I personally didn’t like it and preferred my friends apple mojito.
t. f.
The place was so nice ,cozy and high class type of restaurants As for the food it was medium quality I expected higher and more varieties as well but the staff was so friendly and professional .

Attended the banquet hall for a wedding ceremony. Food is good and surely the atmosphere is likeable.
A. H.
Excellent food and service!!
T. L.
A lovely place.we had a top night.food good and entertainment was good..thought it was expensive tho.
M. “.
Amazing place feels like you are in another country.
D. R.
One of the best curries I've ever had in my life. My wifes cousin had her nikah ceremony here in August 2017. And we returned on their anniversary a few weeks back to have the same food they booked for the day. It was fantastic, easily one …
A. B. A.
Perfect place for small party and obviously delicious food abit expensive but tasty 🥳
M. K.
Very nice wedding venue in Manchester.
Staff are helpful & organised.
C. W.
Great venue - great food . Staff super pleasant and efficient - probably had its moment in the spotlight now - especially as an out of town - goto place . I went at lunchtime and it was empty- which I guess is to be expected . They have spent a fortune over the years creating the ambience .
Worth a visit but not worth getting in a cab and travelling up the Ashton road to the deserted badlands of Manchester, in a wet cold January evening ...
i. r.
Positives:
- beautiful surroundings
- ambient lighting
- excellent service
- lots to choose from on menu
- lots of on site parking
- food was top notch and presented well
Negatives:
- sometimes the lighting was too dark
- table for 2 was small, even waiter struggled to get dishes on table
- would have expected more exclusive dishes. Many were popular Asian dishes
Overall: would recommend and would go again
S. M.
Beautiful place, full of character and taste. Perfect place to make a wedding, go for a meal, or date.
M. T.
Great food, excellent service. Music just a bit too loud. Great atmosphere.
F. J.
Absolutely gorgeous setting for a friends wedding. They ordered their food from the in-house catering which was delicious. The lay out, the staff, all perfect!
K. B. R.
Beautifull place, friendly staff, delicious food! ❤️
t. t.
The decor and atmosphere is the number one reason why you need to go here. It has such a gorgeous appearance, perfect for big groups and special occasions. The food is nice but average , i think because it looks so extravagent your expectations of the food reach the sky but honestly i highly recommend since i think their selling point is the design of the restaurant and not really the food.
A. H.
Excellent experience 5 stars indeed
J. T.
This is one of my favourite venues in and around Manchester the service and food quality for corporate events along with the amazing spaces meant our 400 strong workforce was looked after very well and the parking on site is also great. Pity the tram stop isn't a bit closer that's literally the only downside to this location.
F.
We had a really nice evening at Vermillion, the food was fantastic the waiter's suggestion was right on the money couldn't have been better! Love the decor and the staff were all lovely and attentive, highly recommended. Cocktails upstairs in the bar lounge area after food was a great end to an already good night. Well be coming back soon 👍
E. U.
I have attended a shared party, nit the restaurant bit
S. I.
Delicious buffet meal. Great service.
B. A.
A bit pricey for what it is but a nice place for a special occasion
D. C.
LOVE THE place. Decor, ambience and the staff are so lovely but really unsatisfied with my food as My salmon could of been cooked a lot better. Was far too dry but with such great service I really didn't want to complain.. If I am honest, with the meal I was extremely unsatisfied with but the place in itself is just amazing.
M. B.
We had such a lovely experience at vermilion! The customer service was so lovely. The ambiance was very nice, food was good and our waiters were very friendly and went out of their way to make my fiance comfortable as his arm was in a brace and sling.
A server named Mahid even brought out a happy birthday dessert and a birthday card out of his own will! Which was so sweet of him to do. Definitly coming back!
J. R.
Love this place - absolutely beautiful interior and very tasty food you'd expect from the high end restaurant. Absolutely love the bar/lounge area upstairs with very intimate and private sitting (i'd say even laying areas) and huge round lamp shades with changing colour lights. Must see this.
Welcoming reception that takes you all the way to the restaurant or lounge floor. Be careful when parking next to Maserati and Bentley at the car park :)
Y. S. R.
Lovely venue, good food ,customer service was great very friendly 👌 loads of parking spacious modern venue classey
M. A.
Head east of the city towards MCFC and you’ll find this great food venue, catering in popular Indian/Chinese dishes. Split across 3 levels, the ground floor hosts weddings, conferences and exhibitions with hospitality staff. The restaurant is based on the first floor, buffet and à la carte (selected hours) and the second floor has the capacity to host parties complete with pods and a DJ booth. Fantastic venue and staff. The food was just above ‘average’, nothing great but on the expensive side. Air-conditioned and fully licensed.
F.
I went here for a friend's birthday meal. The food was really tasty and they catered for me and my nut allergy! The atmosphere and vibe was amazing! I would be sure to go back here again!
F. T.
Lovely venue for a wedding, reception area and route to it is gorgeous.
M. B.
Impressive decor with a lovely ambience and the staff were friendly. We went for the buffet- the food was lovely. I wasn’t so impressed with the waiter who ran out after us asking if we’ve paid, when we already had. Was quite embarrassing!
A. L.
The meal started out well; both starters of tandoori chicken and lamb chops marinated in Asian spices and served with yoghurt-mint sauce was brilliant especially the chicken. Mains of sea bass wrapped in banana leaf and ocean king prawns were unfortunately a bit on the dry side. My rice and seasonal vegetables that came with the prawns were very tasty though. Desserts were white chocolate cheesecake and warm chocolate fondant. My fondant was unfortunately not oozing with chocolate on the inside.
Overall the meal was good but you are paying a bit more for them. Love the decor and ambiance although we did have a family with 4 young kids running about. It is quite a bit of a hit or miss and thankfully when the dishes came out right, they were really good which pushed me more in favour of this restaurant.
R. S.
Certainly different from other restaurants. The inside is brilliant, the food is very tasty and the service wasn't bad. A little overpriced for what you get (we were on a set menu at Christmas) but as I said it was very tasty.
Staff could have dealt with a situation that occured a little better, however it was a busy Christmas time and the problem was with one of the members of my party, not the staff's fault.
S.
It's not inaccurate to say I was extremely underwhelmed and disappointed by my experience at Vermilion, considering how pleasant it has been in the past. Multiple orders were missed out, the service was poor, and various items were over cooked. The spring rolls, and lamb chops were fantastic though.
M. V.
The place was good for all occasions. They have good space for parking, But they need to tarmac the parking area properly.
S. I.
Pretty restaurant. The food was ok.A bit hit and miss.Service was good.Lighting too dark though and rather loud.
N. M.
Wonderful food that's thai/Chinese/
Indian combos. Some lovely dishes and buffet is great value on Sundays. Desserts are gorgeous. Lovely decor though it's a bit dark.
S. S.
Been to a wedding on Saturday 10th November, absolutely Amazing venue, delicious food and spot on Service.Definitely recommended For bigger weddings. Lovely atmosphere....
I have seen the previous reviews and wasn't expecting it to be nice but it was far beyond my expectations. We were several times approached by the manager called Amjad to make sure, We are having a good time. His smile and professional approach make our day special.
Thanks to Vermilion and all the staff members making it possible.
J. J.
Vermilion and cinnabar is a gem of restaurant in Manchester. As soon as we went inside the restaurant we were mesmerised by the ambience. The staff was very welcoming. We had ordered Seafood from the menu. Every dish me and my partner had was extremely delicious. The service they provided us was very good. The waiters were very friendly and helpful with the orders. They gave us some recommendations about their food. They really know what they were talking about and this really impressed me a lot. After food we went to their cinnabar lounge . There was Dj who was playing very nice chill out music, plus a cinema Playing a great classic, Xanadu. We really enjoyed our visit there. And I highly recommend this place.
R. P.
Good was good but due to covid menu was restricted and most of items were sold out so I am little disappointed with that !!
S. B.
Amazing atmosphere. Loved the whole feel of the place. There aren't many options on the menu but what we ordered was freshly prepared and delicious. There's also a very good range of mocktails. Would definitely visit again for a special night out.
G. P.
Food is fantastic..service excellent
B. E.
Amazing service for my girlfriend's birthday.
S. M.
Very nice and spacious venue
H. G.
Utterly fabulous architecture - the drama and theatre of this restaurant is mind blowing. To be honest I don't remember much of the fusion food and cocktails other than that they were definitely good. But I'd go there again just for the experience of being in such an amazing space.
F. S.
The evening menu is lovely. We visited for the Sunday buffet and some of the food was cold. As we finished our meal we ordered coffee and after a 30 minute wait, cancelled the coffee order. Although we may return on an evening, we won't go back on a Sunday.
S. M.
Attended a wedding reception here. Excellent venue, lovely elegant decor.
Very well organised. Good host and brilliant staff. Staff were very professional and well trained.
The hall was very well decorated and we all had a great time.
Food was good too...the halwa puri channa😊...was a different touch to the menu which was brilliant. Otherwise the same starters, mains and desserts are a bit boring 🙄😏 and definitely a thumbs down👎as it's the same at every wedding or party. Could be more innovative in food section.
D. L.
The lighting in the restaurant a little to dark for me personally really hard to read menu but the dishes were cooked to perfection with excellent flavours no issues there, would definitely dine here again
O. N.
I love the restaurant design and their giant egg shaped bed style bar sofas! This is the place to have a great party! Their seafood tom yum soap and giant prawns with Thai style sauce is to die for. Excellent mocktails and VIP dinning both, this is the place to impress your business clients if you want expensive.
c. w.
First time and loved it. This place is massive but the food was amazing. There was a wedding going on and lots of people and I thought it would be busy but the size of the place managed to keep that separate from the restaurant
P. J.
Went for a wedding reception. Lots of space. Great interior. Stuffed peacock and mirrored ceiling are talking points. Toilets ample and clean. Food and service good. Big car park.
K. M.
Perfect wedding hall. Car park well organised. Amazing entrance to the lobby nice lovely walk to the banquet hall. Spacious, elegance with beautiful Chandler's. The service from the staff was impeccable aswell has the food highly recommended.

It was my friends Birthday meal tonight.Me and one of my friend went first time all I can say everything there was amazing.
we served by Anna .her service was fantastic. she has been very helpful and patience.i even asked few questions about decor and designer of this place and she gave me all the information. she is brilliant. Thanks Anna!
Food was excellent. we had chicken biryani, chicken karahi, seekh kebabs etc.everything was delicious. I would recommend to my family. friends and colleagues too.

Lovely venue
L. A.
Lovely interior! Such a nice place all floors. I love this place for a nice meal out with your other half, it's a lovely place for a special meal, but food is not filling and also very exp. wouldn't recommend this for a large gathering but upstairs is nice to chill out!
O. J.
Great food and really nice décor
R. N. A.
Gorgeous venue, loved the service but I feel as if the food could be presented better and also could do with adding more flavour to the fish dishes. Other than that I liked the experience.
A. K.
If I could give more stars, I would. This was my first time at Vermilion and I will definitely be coming again. Even though me and my friend were late to our table booking due to traffic, the staff were able to accommodate us and were very understanding about it. We ordered achari gosht and naans, with mocktails. The food was absolutely AMAZING. Very fresh and served very promptly. The decor of Vermilion is also absolutely beautiful. Honestly, this is now in one of my top 5 restaurants ever and I will be back very soon!
K. S. K.
One of the best places to hold wedding and events
N. Y.
Very good food and service friendly staff and excellent service
K. N.
Really great food but the wait for the table was nearly 20 minutes past the booked time, with no contact or greet at the door of the restaurant.
N. C.
A welcoming, reserved, and an amazing atmosphere.
Meals are splendid.
Will definitely recommend visiting.
An ideal place to take a first date meal and so on.
c. b.
Amazing everytime we come. Clean great staff and amazing food.
Z. a.
Food was nice just missed a bit off taste with the spicy however I like mine hot service was great . And feels better then other restaurants once inside
R. A.
Great food and superb décor.
L. K.
beautiful restaurant, fantastic food. slow service and lacking personal touch and attention would have made it a 5
C. C.
I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, we had a delightful waitress, mourene Collette, she's actually one of the senior manager. Service was awesome.
A. A.
Massively overpriced! Food was pretty decent but not worth the bill😤
C. I.
Beautiful restaurant in the city centre Manchester. We really enjoyed the whole experience there. Food, service and music.
M. M.
Classy place great venue and thoroughly enjoyed myself
S. H.
Attended the banquet hall for a wedding ceremony. Food is good and surely the atmosphere is likeable.

Best wedding venue !
We are getting married in March at vermilion. So far the staff are extremely helpful. Amjad has been in contact with us regularly, his professional attitude towards the job is amazing! Wesley the event manager is also very professional and very helpful, indeed this is the best luxury venue in Manchester with no doubt !!
Highly recommended.
F. T.
Beautiful food, a little pricey but lovely place.
S. H. R.
Ambiance very good but decor overstated. Very comfortable space. Excellent spread of Indian, Chinese and Thai cuisine in the lunch buffet. Excellent service. Family friendly and very good food.
J. A.
Venue so Grand! Excellent for weddings
A. A.
Wow amazing venue. Great family wedding.
A. S.
Beautiful place and lovely food for my daughter and son in laws wedding .
C. B.
I actually provided the white led dancefloor here for a party. The venue is amazing and has 2 lovely function suites. It's extremely clean and very well presented. The staff are very curtious to everyone who visits.
R. S.
Very good customer service and good was amazing would recommend 👌
M. M.
I went on a date there and the stuff were so friendly, also the food was amazing I enjoyed it so much but the music was sooo loud aswell as because it was busy there were people screaming and stuff which is the reason I'm giving it 4 stars.
K. B.
Most amazing day of our life.....our wedding day held at the restaurant.
Staff were fantastic!
Food was out of this world!
Decor and atmosphere couldn't be beaten
David - events manager - superb
Attention to detail - 150%
THANK YOU x
S.
Really nice food - I ordered the chow mein. The interior and restaurant looks stunning. Head waiter Kazi was very friendly.
Large car park at entrance. I would recommend to friends and family.
D. C.
What a beautiful restaurant vermilion is the decor is outstanding and the food was amazing very tasteful. The waiters had amazing service skills with a smile on there faces the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly with a smile on her face will definitely be coming again would definitely recommend to anyone
J. D.
I had a great time in the restaurant, the food and the service was fine. The pricing suited the quality and was fair. The only let down was the bar 'cinnabar' as it's quite large and takes too many people to fill and so appeared empty.
T. B.
Nice, warm spacious. Really nice wedding function i attended. Food was fresh and different, but still all asina/indian curries and dishes. Would reccomend for functions.
C. C.
I love this restaurant. They recently changed cook and now they do more indian than thay, nevertheless it was one of the best indian foods I ever had. We went on a Thursday, so we had access to the club upstairs. The place is very posh and surreal and have a cocktail upstairs after dinner is the best thing.
N. N.
Lovely place love the food bit too expencive
H. F.
OK service not great got lots of things wrong advertised triple cooked chips and served frozen fries
a. b.
Only been for sunday buffet but very nice food ...good selection of starters and mains ,lots of desserts which looked good but not my forte..£18 all you can eat was good flavours
A. M.
After searching for different wedding venues across Greater Manchester and not knowing what I was looking for exactly. I booked an appointment with Mr. Amjad from the events team at Vermillion to have a tour of the halls and to discuss my options. I instantly fell in love with the venue, the service provided and the extremely great customer service. Amjad has been really helpful, ensuring he was available to answer any queries I had and to go beyond my expectations with providing me with the best for my wedding day. I would definitely recommend the venue for any events or occasions, not only is it new, modern and so beautiful but the staff and service they provide is by far better than the other banqueting halls I previously went to visit.
Can't wait for all my guests to see the venue and for me to continue to work with Amjad to create the wedding I want.
S. E.
Food was amazing! In love with the decor and lovely customer service!!
A. N.
I have been to Vermilion a fair few times and have always been impressed. The ambience and opulence of the restaurant is something that is lacking from other restaurants in Manchester but is in abundance here.
The menu has a variety of 'fusion' dishes, with dishes from the sub continent to East Asia.
Although it is on the pricey side, compared to other restaurants in manchester the setting does not compare.
N. B.
Went for a works event. Meeting rooms pretty good. Food OK, but only really caters for Asian style food. For those not into Asian food only offered some mediocre sandwiches.
S. p.
Lovely atmosphere, fantastic service & food was amazing! Beautiful place in all. Will definitely be going back! 😁
A. B. A.
Perfect place for small party and obviously delicious food abit expensive but tasty 🥳
S. A.
I love the atmosphere at this restaurant. The Sunday buffet is one of the best I've experienced. The food is delicious, the staff are great and the ambience is sublime.

If you are looking for a special dinner night out ..with great food and amazing ambience ...look no further ..vermilion is the place to go ..I had taken my lovely wife out for A dinner on her birthday ...and it felt special ..dint find too over crowded ..lots of seating areas ...I feel they can be great host for themed parties. ..tad bit expensive ..but well worth it ...definitely recommended
A. K.
We’ve booked the wedding venue for an event later this year and the team were great with dealing with all all of our enquires. Amjad ensured we were 100% happy with everything, was always there to answer any questions and we look forward to seeing what they can put together for us
C. S.
The setting of the restaurant is Thai contemporary authentic! A 3-floor restaurant and bar with stunning décor. Their menu offers Thai fusion dishes and unique desserts. Their signature cocktail Saran Rom is well worth a try, made with fresh papaya, champagne and tequila.
M. L.
Excellent food and good atmosphere. Good value on "Eat out to help out", but otherwise overpriced. Uncomfortable seats
D. D.
Fantastic food with grest atmosphere
