Reviews of Wing's Restaurant
N. V.
The best Chinese Restaurant without question by far! Been visiting for a number of years the food and service is second to none! Sizzling Fillet Beef is simply amazing! It’s a must for anyone who hasn’t visited before! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A. 1.
Tasty food with attentive staff, agree with others that food & (soft) drinks are slightly overpriced (like London prices IMO). But considering they state food is all halal, though they serve pork & alcohol, then Wings has a better selection than many of Chinese restaurants in Manchester that I've been to. Toilets are a bit dated but clean.

Husband took myself and my son for our 27th wedding anniversary and our sons 24th birthday - the service was absolutely second to none, along with the truly delicious food - we picked “banquet A” for all of us which i think was £50 each…had to take doggie bags home as couldn’t eat it all !! Fantastic occasion, will be going back soon for sure 😄
A. K.
Best Chinese ever … you will not be disappointed
My experience at the hotel from beginning to end is always superior. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my visit, but offering your customers a warm experience goes long way... a big thankyou to the staff for 'making a difference’.
Thanks to Ron Li for looking after us
D. M.
We have been a few times and the food is always incredible and the service really is something special. One of our favourite places to eat in Manchester.
M. C.
Service was fantastic but there was nobody in. The food was nice but in all honesty, nothing special. I think it’s very overpriced especially the wine, a bottle of Whispering Angel was priced at £90.90!!!
S. J.
Without exaggerating, this was quite simply the best Chinese I have ever had. Every mouthful was bursting with flavour. We were so glad we went with our ‘usual’ (the classics), because we were shown just how incredible they can be, in true authentic Cantonese style. This is not a ‘showy’ restaurant like 20 Stories (which we also visited that weekend), but a genuine, properly incredible meal out. It’s no wonder there are hundreds of thankyou plates from famous footballers on entry! We will be returning very soon.

Visited Friday 19th November 2021. Beautiful restaurant. The best Chinese food ever produced by obviously very talented chefs. But just as important. I am neither rich or famous yet the front of staff served us with the utmost respect and good manners. Can't wait to go back. Wonderful experience. Will never forget it.
D. H.
Superb meal and the service is excellent, the staff are very attentive. So many beautiful dishes to have, you are spoilt for choice. I will certainly be going back.
B. C.
Chinese food done well!!! Great quality and very attentive staff. Asked for some dish recommendations and were not let down! Highly recommend the satay king prawns with vermicelli in clay pot - divine!
G. M.
The service here is fantastic and the food too, top marks.
A. R.
It was just OK nothing to shout about. Visited for the first time expecting great things but left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Food was nice enough but we've had better elsewhere - the prawn toast being the exception to this it was outstanding. However, 3 small pieces for £10.80. Portions were small in general so value for money is not great. Did we enjoy it, yes. Would we return, no. Probably living off reputation nowadays.

The service is good.. good retaurant of manchester united fans... food mainly for non-asian

Best Chinese restaurant in Manchester
Good staff , fast service , nice ambience
h. v.
Amazing place, staff so attentive and friendly and the food is 5 star.
C.
Food and service was second to none. Had a really good time.
D. s. (. 이.
Spring water that they just served without noticing was £5.50... I didn't expect that high price.
Food was good though.
M. S.
BBQ spare ribs, salt & pepper chicken wings.
Chicken Kung po rice and chips.
Fantastic service, fantastic food, fantastic restaurant
S. S.
My girlfriend and myself went after trying for a while to get a booking, and boy as we not disappointed. Best Chinese we have had in a long time, and the customer service was second to none. We can’t wait to come back.
C. X.
Best Chinese restaurant in Manchester fantastic good and service

One of my go-to spots to grab something to eat. excellent location, well organised, and awesome customer service. Keep it up!
I. T.
Food was nice, but no nicer than anywhere else I've been. It was also very expensive, keep this in mind when visiting.
B. E.
I prefer this place very much. It has a romantic atmosphere. The cuisine is great. the service is powerful and the crew is courteous. The cost is fair. very much recommend.

Beautiful restaurant tucked away in the heart of Manchester, staff are brilliant,Mr Wing's hospitality also made our day
H. H.
Very nice and fancy restaurant with really delicious food. we were definitely under dressed. Polite and nice staff. But the tables that are for 3-4 people are too big and in the way. The portions are small and being places in a big dish makes them look even smaller. It is very pricy and the dessert option are only 4 types of cakes, the rest is coffee and tea and whisky, etc.
R. M.
Very nice food. Cooked with care.
A tad pricey but the quality is there.
They are a little pretentious serving the rice, but its a minor thing. Next time I'll ask them to leave a good serving on the table instead of them topping up the rice bowl when they spot your low.
Would return

We had a truly fantastic experience at Wing's Restaurant. Quality food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere.
K. T.
The food was nothing special and I was quite surprised that Chinese vegetables in oyster sauce turned out to be a £10 Pak Choi. Overall quite expensive for what it is.
J. H.
Really great food - we ordered the banquet for 8 people and it was spectacular! Almost too much... Everything was high quality and good variety too. Good service and very concerned about allergies, references etc. Highly recommended...
L. A.
I have been to Wings multiple multiple times.
The Reception, service and food are all fantastic I have never had a bad experience in all the years I have been going.
Mr Wing makes me and my family feel extremely welcome and can not do enough for you.
I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys an amazing Chinese with a great choice of wine with a great private surroundings.
Cannot wait to book in soon :)
L. J.
Absolutely amazing food and service 10/10 will definitely be going back
O. A.
They have pleasant and polite staff ( esp. Vincent and Ron where super amazing and unforgettable. The food tastes soo good as well and the ambiance is clean and the energy is positive.
I had a lovely experience at the restaurant.
L. N.
Great environment and super friendly service. The food was fresh and yummy. Will absolutely recommend this spot to friends. Reasonable rates and generous meals. Great job.
D. A.
Fantastic food and great selection of wine, but book ahead and probably best to expect a pricey bill. Don't be phased by a celebrity appearance here either it's highly rated in that aspect. I love it here
B. Y. W.
As a Chinese myself I can safely say the food here is not too bad. The dishes are not as `robust' as those found in Chinatown: hardcore Chinese folks may not appreciate the more refines of the dishes but its a good place to throw a special occasion with a nice setting and polite staff, or entertain a business associate. Only draw back is that its somewhat cluttered and lighting is somewhat dim (bad for folks like me with poor eyesight but ideal for celebrities wishing to stay under the radar)....
s. d.
Really good food and service. Slightly more expensive than most but really worth the extra. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Very very good.
L. K.
Without a doubt the best Chinese restaurant in Manchester. Service is second to none and atmosphere is always great.
Food is amazing with plenty of standard Chinese options as well as more unique dishes.
E. M.
Went for a banquet on Valentine’s Day. I’m an incredibly fussy eater so we were sceptical about having a banquet instead of choosing a set meal, but however we tried everything and there was not one thing we could fault throughout the entire night, incredible service and food
b. z.
Good first impression from the doorman makes you feel very welcomed told him we had a booking they sat us down very quickly which is good I'm presuming this is because they were not that busy. They had the best appetisers I have had in a while a bowl of prawn crackers and doritos (I don't know what they were) with three sauces which complimented them greatly was a nice way to start. Within ten minutes we had are orders taken I had the sweet and spicy duck dome and boiled rice, the duck was cooked well which was sat on top of courgettes, carrots etc.
This was all in a sweet and spicy sauce wich was great with the right amount of sauce, vegetables and duck there is no reason why I wouldn't try it again even though the food was a couple of minutes behind. Overall forget all the professionalism the food was good and the waitress was PPPENGG
I. H.
We didn’t book a table, but the staff were great and seated us despite us not having a reservation.
Amazing food and even better service.
Thank you!
A. T.
I have been to Wings many, many times. The Reception, service and food are all fantastic I have never had a bad experience in all the years I have been going. Wing is one of the hardest working guys I know in this trade and it pays dividends. Going tomorrow and salivating already

Looks very small from the outside but absolutely loved the food, I was full! Duck was great. Drinks were great. Good atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff
L. T.
Some of the nicest food I have had in years, friendly staff and impeccable service
M. L.
I decided to come here last year as the website promoted the restaurant was five star and I'm a lover of fine dining.
My partner and I booked for 8pm, but had to take a table at seven as long as it was returned by nine. This seemed to hint at a busy place, maybe that could be interpreted as a good sign.
We ended up late by half an hour but our apologies were brushed aside, as the staff assured us it was fine and ushered us to our seats. As I was sitting they gestured I should change seats as there was a stool waiting to grace the presence of my handbag. Nice touch.
Initial service was impeccable.
The liquid order was taken and delivered, an aperitif each to start, G&T and a Tiger Beer and a bottle of Chablis to accompany the food.
On their website Wing’s claim to offer the finest of wines, this seemed the case. An impressive cellar takes pride of place in the restaurant, though the prices are knock-out in a very painful way, not a single bottle under £20 and climbing to a maximum of £999.
I benchmarked these prices against those of the cocktails. A Kir Royal comes in at £12.50 - definitely 5 star pricing.
A comprehensive dim sum and starter selection meant debate on what to start with. Spotting the Rolls Royce of dim sum we ordered the seafood soup dumpling.
The food when it arrived was underwhelming. The soup was a thin tasteless broth and while full of chunks of different seafood, the dumpling didn't have any flavor.
Conversely the chilli diced duck lettuce wrap was much livelier. Packing a considerable punch it had cheeky chilli and chunks of chestnut in abundance. Slight dicey moment as my partner has intolerance to certain nuts and their presence wasn't flagged on the menu. Luckily no anaphylactic shock ensued. This was a cute little DIY dish where you scooped the contents into lettuce leaves making your own wrap. Those taste buds were starting to get their groove on.
Equally impressive were the ribs. Not being able to call it between salt & pepper versus barbecue we requested to go half and half. Perfectly happy to accommodate this we were presented with a fine flavorsome, fleshy feast. I do hate it when ribs are more bone than meat. These didn't disappoint.
We had a long wait of 30 minutes for our main. The long wait wasn't worth it: everything fell apart at the main event.
Deep fried spicy scallops in Tsing Tao beer batter were buried in the batter. The spicy element was entirely absent. Quality scallops but lacking in advertised spice.
Worse was to follow as Wing's got the order wrong with the lamb dish.
Expecting the sizzling sliced lamb in black pepper sauce we were served sans sizzle simply sliced lamb in black pepper sauce.
Alerting the waitress to this error she mumbled something indecipherable and showed me on the menu the item we had been served saying ‘No sizzling platter’.
Drawing her attention to the page titled ‘Sizzling Platters’, but that was about it. Conscious the clock was ticking I didn’t request they replace it but nor were they falling over themselves to offer to do this.
Disappointment aside, being entirely objective it was a letdown dish. It could have been any generic meat, it didn’t possess the distinctive flavour of lamb. It could easily have been thinly sliced chicken. Or beef. Or ostrich. Anything.
This was a very uneven meal. Decent starters, welcoming service, good environment and then poor mains and big muddle. Five star, not really. The food doesn't reach those highs.
A. M.
Despite its high price, Mr Wing's restaurant is outstanding. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, as is Mr Wing, who will bend over backwards to treat his customers. The food is to die for, and is well worth the high price!
U. I. P.
Been coming here for over Ten years.. cant fault Mr Wings presence or how much he welcomes you!.. even last minute walk ups on a Saturday night he still seems to be able to find you a seat.. always worth the drive
N. V.
By far the best service and food you will find in any Chinese Restaurant in Manchester and maybe the country. Everything is on point. I have visited many times and the service and food have always been 5 Star quality.
A. L.
As always fantastic food and a great atmosphere. The service is always fantastic and our group all had an amazing night.
S. R.
Excellent restaurant, great service and excellent food.
Tad expensive for a Chinese, but that comes with a famous reputation.
There are other fantastic Chinese restaurant near by for a more reasonable price, but it's worth it for the experience.
t. h.
Very nice food , very friendly staff. Expensive but worth a treat
M. F.
The food is very good and to be honest it probably is the best in Chinese in Manchester for English persons taste the white glove table service is good to see aswell, the price is high and your money would go a lot further in any of the China town restaurants but personally i prefer it! But the pitfall is the management if its the weekend you are made to wait long periods of time for your table and then you are rushed on! the attitude of the boss is not very good if you do not spend enough in his restaurant
P. B.
Went after ages with 3 friends... food was to die for..no rude person when I called to book like earlier.. I feel it could make a come back if they keep the customer service good!
F. U.
Food was nice. Location is a bit strange as a few strange alley ways around. Decor could be updated but overall enjoyed it. Staff are very friendly
