Reviews of Fourteen Sky Bar & Restaurant
O. J.
We had a wonderful meal here for my partner's birthday! The views were great, service was excellent, and the food was outstanding! I had the steak which was honestly one of the best I've ever had.
Menu was a little pricey so it's not an everyday restaurant, but for special occasions I thought it was very good. Wouldn't hesitate to come again.

The sky bar looks amazing. Bright, modern and spacious with amazing views. It has a real London vibe. The service was fantastic. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Even the dining service was pretty and modern. The food itself was great too. We had afternoon tea and the choice of sandwiches was very tasty. The scones and cakes/pastries were also delicious. A huge pot of various teas or coffee of your choice. My only minor let down was the cream for the scones. Although it was delicious it wasn't traditional clotted cream. I'm a big fan of a cream tea.

Nice restaurant, with wonderful views of Milton Keynes. Very clean. Used as we were staying in the hotel. Very limited menu and expensive, but its a hotel restaurant and I personally expected this so for me that was fine. Cocktails are very good.

Visited the place for my birthday. The views are beautiful (for Milton Keynes :) ). The food was really really lovely. The drinks were great too, we had a few with dinner and then in the bar area too. Service with food was quick but a little bit slow with drinks. As this is a new place, I understand that staff are new too and still in training. They were very polite and attentive though maybe even too much :) They we’re coming up to ask how things are too often and too quickly after bringing the food out :)
A great new spot in MK though, will go back!

Lovely views and the food was nice, Eton Mess however was disappointing - firstly it wasn't a mess and lacked real flavour, the meringue could use some improvement.
In terms of the service, the girls were polite enough however I was so disappointed that they were clearing the plates before the whole table had finished (this happened at every course). It just makes you feel pressured and is a big turn no for me.

Incredible views, great atmosphere, drinks were good staff were friendly but the food was pretty average.

5 of us went for lunch for my daughters 21st birthday. Restaurant is modern but has a real warmth about it. Staff were attentive, professional and friendly. Food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Views were really great, even on the dull grey day that it was. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Would definitely go back and recommend.

High time Milton Keynes had a classy restaurant like this! Visited Fourteen for a birthday celebration: food is first-class (London prices, but worth every penny), wait staff are all professional, friendly and courteous, and the views are terrific! Our new favourite restaurant for special occasions.

Had to give 3 not 5 stars as encountered 2 major challenges to get to the Sky Lounge. The first was the multi storey car park - getting a ticket and finding the right pedestrian exit for La Tour. Second, where is the entrance to La Tour?? Walked all the way round building, no signage or obvious entrance. Had to ask a very helpful member of staff in the delivery bay who walked us round. Put up signs!! Once inside, fabulous view from lift up to Sky Lounge and more terrific views over MK from the lounge. Very nice coffee and croissant, friendly staff. Now I know the trick of how to get in, will go again.

Visited for Sunday lunch. I was surprised at how nice the view was and the interior was very snazzy and stylish. Our waitress was slightly frustrating as she got a few things wrong and her communication wasn’t great, however the overall experience and food was good and I would definitely go back. Cocktails were great. There isn’t much signage at ground level but we were lucky and headed straight into the hotel where they directed us to the lifts. It’s definitely worth getting there a bit early as parking can be tricky around that area. Overall staff were friendly and helpful, it’s a new place so you’d expect some hiccups at the start.

We had dinner here, upon arrival we were not met, after sitting for a while went to the bar to be told it was table service, we ordered cocktails, twenty minutes later our waiter asked if we had ordered our drinks, they arrived a few minutes later.
We went into the restaurant shown to a table for 3 the booking and number of guest 4?
Our waiter saved the day, he was curtious attentive turning the poor start into a positive night.
The location, atmosphere good with great views, food good.
Not sure if l would go again..

Came here as a guest for cocktails and coffee. The cocktails were nice but pricey for £12 each. The coffee was nice but there was no consistency in glassware used- one of our party had a latte in a proper glass and the other in a normal coffee cup! Very odd. The cocktails: one was lovely the other overly sweet (smoked old fashioned) The staff were nice but were not really listening to orders... asked for two drinks and both had something wrong! The bill was about £40 for 4 people. I understand that they are trying to be like the oxo tower/shard and they defo charge a similar amount. But the service /limited menu let's it down. We enquired about the private room and found that they expect room.charge as well as menu charge- that's excessive for the menu/service. While the concept it nice the execution leaves something to be desired

Beautiful building. But the first time I went was told there was no room available in the Bar / Restaurant after telling the staff member friends were already there we went up to the Bar area to find it virtually empty. 3 days later I walk in to enquire about a table for two for lunch to be told yes we should be able to fit you in, So again I go to the Bar / Restaurant area and its virtually empty again. The staff are very polite but service was a little long winded, I ordered a Salmon Sandwich which comes with fries but the Sandwich had obviously been under a heat lamp and the Bread was a bit dry and ironically the fries hadn't are were luke warm. As yet the Service isn't good enough for a building as good as this and nor is the food

Great views, good prices and amazing fine food. A must in MK.

Nice looking restaurant with lovely staff. Thought the menu was extremely limited. Food was average lasagne very dry virtually no sauce. Chicken again very dry. Sharing platter again disappointing the cheese wasn't melted it was congealed. It has potential but wouldn't return until it improves.

The view is amazing and I'm afraid that's where the positives stop.
We struggled with our waitress and communication on both sides.
But that aside, the food choice was limited, I asked if we could order from the lunch sandwich menu, but I was sitting in the wrong area. The other 3 found things to eat, so it was only me, but they wouldn't allow it. When the main courses arrived the chicken was overcooked on two of the plates, and all the meals lacked. For the money, we were all very disappointed. We won't be returning.

Excellent service, the team were just lovely - warm, friendly and attentive (and thankfully not super invasive with the “how is the food” “everything ok” questions). Tried a couple of the cocktails - yummy. The menu is small - I imagine this will grow once the team are satisfied the popular dishes are nailed. We had chateaubriand and it was cooked to perfection. One recommendation - team could serve this with a proper carving knife or ready cut for ease. Views were wonderful - need more alignment with the tables so that those not window facing can gaze out without fear of the next table thinking it’s a staring comp. I’ve heard others complain of cost. Overall, we had a lovely time and felt the prices were fair given the experience, the fine food and the atmosphere. I’ve spent double for much less!! Cannot wait to return! Thanks all 💜

Wonderful views and a perfect relaxing space to sit and enjoy our breakfasts. A few teething troubles, which is understandable as we visited when it was very new, but the chef listened and went out of his way to get things right.

Very nice restaurant and will be back for sure. Super service and the food was very good (maybe too many Brussels which would have been nicer with a but of bacon or something) great view as you would expect and the table decor with the crackers and lights looked fab.
M. T.
The food, service and venue is absolutely top notch. The view is stunning. The food isn't insanely overpriced and you'll enjoy a very good quality lunch or dinner.

My partner and I came in for dinner for my birthday on the 26th November and our server was Rebecca. Rebecca was amazing and catered to our every need. The food was incredible. The service was immaculate and the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated and so pretty. We were sat right next to the window and had the prettiest view. Rebecca constantly made sure we had everything we wanted such as drinks, sauces ect and at no point were we just left waiting. Thank you to everyone for making my birthday so special and a massive thank you to Rebecca for making our time there.

Fantastic meal in a fab setting. Views are incredible.
Our waiter Imran was lovely. Attentive and met all our needs.
Food was delicious.

More like a canteen than a restaurant, the food was excellent, the Meatballs are the best I have ever had. But the tables are packed in too close together so you are trapped in until the couple behind you leave.
A. J.
Really nice venue, especially if you're staying at the hotel but service was extremely slow. But that aside the drinks (cocktails) were nice and location etc was great with lovely views of MK.

The view is amazing. The food great and service great. Prices be warned but coffee in the lounge overlooking MK priceless

We were staying in this hotel so popped up to the Sky bar. Servers were lovely and chatty, and the cocktails were great.
We loved it.

Food is good. (If you eat meat get the glazed sausages as an appetizer) service good and the views are spectacular across the Park.

Table by the window with beautiful views added to the enjoyable lunch....

A lovely evening here - great food, great atmosphere and impeccable service from Poppy in particular who was excellent! Highly recommended

Lovely, airy restaurant. Great views. Good food excellently cooked and presented. Some staff still a bit nervous and lacking finesse, but it has only been open a couple of weeks. It did not detract from overall experience. We will be going back to sample more of their fare.

Having lived in mk all my life I was a little bit "what views"... I've seen my city in a different light...
Add to that lovely food, amazing wine and cocktails, along with nice service, Fourteen has become the place to go!

About time we got a sky bar in the most boring city in the UK. What can I say nice views professional table service and decent prices, I would rather sit here have my coffee with table service than go to costa and queue for 30 min standing.
P. W.
Great service, fantastic menu choice and not to pricey. Great selection of cocktails and wines. Loved it

This review is for the excellent service from Rebecca Moffit. Thank you so much for the outstanding service. Everything else was probably a 6 out of 10. Views were cool though.

Superb 50th dinner. Very well run restaurant with cracking views, great service and delicious food. We will definitely be back!
C. H.
Lovely setting looking out over Camble Park, service was good as you would expect, We found the menu very limited, ordered and food came in good time, tips at 10% are automatically added to your bill which I do not approve of but is getting the norm, 2 starters 2 mains 1 glass of wine and a coke just over £100 so pricey, food was good but not worth the money, liked the experience but probably would not go back.

A much better second visit , first wasn't great. This time great service and really well cooked tasty food

Beautiful views, good prices and friendly staff, a real gem in MK

Described as the most “The most luxurious dining experience” on the website! Led me to have high expectations. Sadly, they had not been met! The location/view is great, the layout/style is good which sets the scene well at first glance.
What you realise when seated is the staff really need further training, whilst this is a new restaurant there will undoubtedly be some teething issues, I would have expected a better level of service, which staff can do before working with the public.
Some of the staff seemed to know what they were doing however sadly the most not. The selection of wines was interesting when asking for a Rose Rioja from the wine list, we had been advised that was not available and they could offer me a Zinfandel.
I am not expecting a fully trained Sommelier however basic training should have been given to offer comparable types of wine. I requested a dry wine, and the suggested alternative is much sweeter!
When our wine arrives to the table it was dumped on the table with the server not offering the bottle to be checked or tasted, she asked if I wanted it to be poured which seemed like a bit of an inconvenience for her.
When our food arrived, it looked nice and tasted nice also, however again not quite the “most luxurious” in terms of fine dining, but it was nice!
Throughout the service you could observe multiple issues and basic principles of waiting etiquette was not applied.
This is a young and new team which had several “senior” staff overseeing them, however, don’t expect to be overly impressed, I hope they improve with time and that the management invest time in quality training if they really want to offer “The most luxurious dining experience” as per their website.
Did I feel I had Luxurious experience, absolutely not! Would I return? I don’t think so!
Value for money, no not really nice-looking place but underwhelming due to staffing.

Came in for the evening at the sky bar and it was so lovely, staff are amazing and drinks were made to perfection. Couldn’t have asked for a better service 👍

In summary: Okay - but way, way below the billing it gives itself on the website / social media presence. Want to return factor = zero.
The good:
Cocktails very, very good. Negroni was spot on. Made with crushed and cubed ice and thinly sliced fruit peel. I could have done without a 20 minute wait whilst, and I quote "they found the things to do the smoke". If you're going to do smoked cocktails for the Instagram crowd, don't let it compromise the wait time. The Zombie was also superb. Pints of Corona were cold, and lively.
The sharing starter board was good value and very fresh. The cured meats weren't too cold as if often the case.
The Venison loin itself was very well cooked at a medium and had been well rested and seasoned finely. The cut had an excellent flavour.
The wait staff themselves were very pleasant and accomodating.
The bad:
However the wait staff are also very clearly stressed and undertrained with three trips back to the table to confirm food and drink details.
Two glasses of wine ordered to accompany the main meals turned up after we'd finished actually eating.
The floor management would do well to apply some situational awareness and not give staff on the spot correction / ad-hoc training at a table being set right next to diners mid-course. It's distracting and clearly made the staff uncomfortable.
The wait times were unacceptably long for a half empty restaurant at 2:30. 20 minutes for our pre-starter drinks. 25 minutes for deserts to arrive. Another 20 minutes (and a member of staff expressing surprise) before the bill showed up.
The Chicken supreme was anything but. Well overcooked with too few croquettes and a very agricultural and uninspired lump of cabbage.
Absolutely no childrens menu is farcical for a restaurant adjoining a hotel.
We were in an end of room table nearest the alfresco (i.e. smoking) areas - and there was a whiff of stale cigarettes whenever people went outside... which they did frequently!

Amazing food, great food, Imran was exceptional too!!!!! Would recommend. Give that man a raise immediately
