It's prebooked, I think you have to book ahead and there is a charge for cancelation if it's not done on time.

D. D.One of the most amazing places I've ever been to in Newcastle. Highly recommend. Place is Halal, clean, full of vibrant atmosphere. If you've never been here is a must. Not expensive either. The menu is vast and lots to choose from. They have dozens of staff and they check up on you regularly. If I go back to Newcastle - this is a place I will revisit.

D. R.Very disappointed with this venue and its service. Ordered 3 drinks which were a premium price. One of the drinks came in a plastic glass and I had to ask twice for a glass to drink my bottle of alcohol free lager. Why would I want to swig my lager out of a bottle? Would you expect a customer to swig wine from the bottle? On questioning the plastic glass we were told that it was because they didn't want glass outside despite having brought one of the drinks in a glass and a glass bottle out to us.

j. b.It's restaurant week in Newcastle so we had a lovely 2 course meal here for £10 pp. We ate at 4.15 as had a busy day so it was very early for us but we were starving! Starters of beef tacos and salmon nigiri and then both had teriyaki chicken with rice and veg. Really tasty and filling so extra portion of sweet potato fries probably not needed but gorgeous! Large glass of merlot and a peroni plus tip brought price to £42 and we thought it was worth every penny. Place is big with a night club at the back so pleased we ate early as think it might be noisy later. Staff were lovely and we will be back to try full menu

We will absolutely return. Our waitress was a girl from France and we can’t remember her name- we’re sorry but she was fantastic!!

C. K.I went to Aveika with 3 friends on Saturday. The staff was fantastic. Our starters were really good and the mains were spot on (mine, which was honey glazed salmon, was heavenly - compliments to the chef). Our cocktails were nice as well. We thought that the desserts though were rather uninspiring, especially compared to everything else. I wish I give a rating of 4.5 but there is no such option. I would definitely recommend the place and would happily visit again, (but I would skip the dessert).

Happened to get lucky as we drove past and thought the venue looked like a bit of us and they had bookings available that night ! Only let down I would of said was an undercooked starter which I highlighted to the manager (it was inedible ) and asked if it was meant to be like that but he just shrugged it off and walked away from the table. No other dishes were recommended or it was not suggested that the dish be removed from the table and re-cooked.
But if you like restaurants such as Tattu this place is a must try in Newcastle!

s. h.I went to aveika yesterday night and came back extremely satisfied. The customer service was impeccable and I must say, Steph (our waitress) was on fire. She cleared our tables very quickly and worked efficiently. She was a perfect waitress. The decor was very wonderful and lady-like with iconic features such as the paintings on the wall and pink lights.

If you compare it to McDonald's it's amazing. But for the decor and the experience you get when walking in you'd expect the food to match up, no matter what you get. But it doesn't.
Anyway, for a night out it would be decent, as long as you care more for experience than food.

Would definitely visit again, it's in a good location near the quayside.

Not the worst place I've been too, but I definately won't be rushing back.

We stayed the full night in Aveika, after our meal the manager invited our table up into the VIP bar where we stayed until the early hours, dancing & drinking.

D. V.Food was amazing, the katsu and teriyaki dishes were very well cooked. The ambiance of the place was a bit strange as it turns from a restaurant into a nightclub/loud bar as the evening goes on. But I guess that doesn't matter if you're planning to have a few drinks afterwards. The place is really let down by the service which is amateurish at best. Starters were slow to come out which wasn't the biggest deal in the world but then the mains didn't come out together (15 minute gap). They also failed to bring the fries we ordered which was annoying. Other points I noticed about the service was the lack of organisation, each table was tended to by multiple staff leading to confusion (we were brought the bill twice). The amateurish feel from the staff who seemed young and a bit clumsy, I noticed one of them dropping a main course on to someones foot.
Service aside the food was really good and still makes this place worth a visit - especially if you like Japanese food. Hopefully they will take on board some of the feedback from reviews and make improvements.

Nice outdoor seating area which is covered and has patio heaters, surrounded with glass panels quite modern. Good for groups and music isn't as loud outside.

S. L.Have visited here for both drinks in the evening, and the restaurant. The bar area is typical of many others in Newcastle, though is slightly less crowded - which is a definite positive. Good music, often accompanied by a sax. The cocktails are superb and the range includes many that you wouldnt find elsewhere - a real pleasant change from the usual humdrum list of standard cocktails you get elsewhere.
The restaurant area is also very good. The quality of food is excellent, and great to see some more good quality Japanese food in the city. The menu is perhaps a little limited, but hopefully it will be changed over time to mix it up a bit. Service was friendly and efficient, all in all providing good value for money. They also offer a 3 courses for £15 deal which is really brilliant value.

There was a wide selection of starters and mains and an option to add a dessert. Aveika have a wide selection of gf food and even on the two course special there was plenty choice. They do fantastic cocktails too.

The staff are incredibly friendly and my friend and I were well looked after by a lovely girl called Lovitta. I've recommeded Aveika to a lot of people and shall definitely be returning at some point.

C. A.Food was amazing. The sauce on the Blackened Miso Cod was to die for and the beef in the Beef Robata was perfect, juicy and no chewy. We went during Newcastle Restaurant week so good prices. Service is included in the bill though so you may want to take that into consideration.

We've been in summer and winter and it's equally cosy in both seasons. Definitely a top choice for eating on the Quayside in Newcastle.
