Excellent service, great value for money, very well thought out menu structure. Good quality food & attention to detail. Clearly a chefs care environment in the kitchen. There is something for everyone & every budget while offering fine dining style of service within a fun / atmospheric environment without being pretentious! The creative mind behind the vision has embarked on a journey through to fruition over the past 10 years, creating a visually pleasing look which welcomes you in as you walk through the door with a warm personality in reflection. I frequent Newcastle & will definitely be returning on every visit to experience other areas of the venue which I envision offer a different vibe.

Service is excellent very friendly staff who interact with you and offer kids entertainment such a colouring materials. Setting is beautiful and perfect for family meals. It is a great place in the heart of the city centre. nearby is the quayside so after eating you can go for a little walk. We went around 5ish and the service was speedy I do think the food has been better previously but a good point is the chicken is also halal. The sticky toffee is one of the best I have tried.

The waiter we had was the loveliest, Edison was honestly the highlight of our night. We for sure weren't disappointed... he is unfortunately leaving in a week to start another job but we will never forget the night we had served by him. The food was perfect - and I don't use that word lightly. The cocktails were amazing and the atmosphere itself was just fantastic. 10/10 will definitely go again.

Loved our visit here, I had calamari to start with a lovely lemon dip it was very tasty, followed by duck in a red sticky sauce with potatoes absolutely delicious.. dessert was chocolates with ginger base beautiful.. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. Would of given 5 stars but for the fact it was an extra £9.00 for 2 portions of carrots and green beans which should of accompanied the meal in my opinion. Lovely place for a special occasion as it is pricey..

The place is fancy inside and out. Ordered the calamari for starters which was yummy. For mains I ordered the lamb shank, I'm sorry to say this but I was disappointed when i had it, wasn't tasty (maybe because I've had better at a friend's house and nothing could top it). Would still give it 5 stars because the staff and ambience were equally nice, but I guess it's just the taste of the lamb shank that just didn't do it for me, so could be just personal preference (thus would be unfair to markdown a star). Also, my friends ordered seasoned chips, it looked no different from a budget fast food chain. Wouldn't really go again.

My boyfriend and I went for our 1 year anniversary and were not disappointed AT ALL. Food was outstanding food, really helpful and friendly staff, cosy and intimate atmosphere and the music was not too loud. The food portions were surprisingly reasonable and well priced. Highly recommend for anniversaries, date nights, valentine's Day, and other special occasions. Will definitely be back x

First visit to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. Good service and good atmosphere even though the place is huge. Only downside was the steak for the birthday girl was poor and although replaced without hesitation the replacement was still not as good as it could have been. Despite this the staff were efficient and friendly and there is every chance we will return.

In my opinion this is the most wonderful restaurant in toon. Alex was our waiter, years of experience and always on hand for recommendations. Overall, we had a good time at Babucho, we came without a booking on a Sunday and they seated us relatively quickly. The food tasted good, but the carrots were undercooked. We both ordered roasts and wanted to share a bottle of wine. Unfortunately our waiter was not attentive and we had to go looking for them 20mins after ordering to ask again for our wine. We also had to get up and search for a waiter again to request for our bill. We expected better service given the way the venue presented themselves.

Amazing place. Another place me and my girlfriend had been wanting to try for ages but never really got around to it. It was well worth the wait. The soup my girlfriend had, French onion soup served in a cob, was bloody lush. Everything else was just as nice. Definitely worth a visit. Book in advance for a weekend obviously.

First time at Babucho, the atmosphere and decor is outstanding as well as the food being amazing! Only issue was we felt rushed to order as the waitress came over 4 times within the space of 15 minutes. Then when we had finished our meals it took 15 minutes to be noticed. Quite a sophisticated and up market restaurant. Went for lunch, a bit dark inside and not much atmosphere but the food was lovely. I had calamari then a crispy duck leg with a beautifully made sticky sauce and silky smoothe mash. Quite expensive for lunch and they added a large tip and as this was for such a quiet lunch service i do not think this is warrented. The wine was lovely and i would probably go again for a treat.

Really nice Sunday lunch. I had roast beef with trimmings. Yorkie like a top hat!! Black pudding starter delicious and sticky toffee pudding was light as a feather. Grandaughters 16th birthday so it was singing and presented with a chocolate brownie plus candle, which was a nice touch for her. Very pleasant staff and I would definitely recommend. Everything is 5* apart from the food. Setting is lovely, atmosphere is perfect for a date, decor and staff are really good too. I'm afraid though the food is very average. Poor presentation, bland flavours and overcooked meat. Wouldn't put me off going back because we had a lovely evening but if the culinary standard is the reason for dining, there is an abundance of better quality and cheaper Italian food destinations within a short walk away. The photo is for £14(ish) sharer tomatoes and mozzarella salad; Essentially, a pack of cherry tomatoes, halfed with mozzarella (not buffalo, just hard mozzarella) and untorn basil leaves.

Wow..... On the Newcastle Quay side is this beautiful Italian restaurant. The location is perfect and the food hard to discribe just how amazing. The staff can not do enough for you the service is impeccable. So so beautiful. The big suprise is the bill!!!!! I was expecting to pay double the amount! This is 8 star service and food at a price you can't beat anywhere. Very very very good to the point of perfect. 10/10...... 11/10!!!!

Considering it was a reasonably priced 2 or 3 course option we expected smaller portions, but no! Great value. Will return and highly recommend.

Great Sunday dinner with my daughter here today, food lovely but got so much couldn’t finish it all. Staff offered to box it. Price was good food lovely and very polite staff. Having read some of the reviews before leaving mine I really think some people should just stick to shopping at Farmfoods and eat in the house. Especially the muppets who claimed portions small, staff inattentive and over priced.

I walked past this place after a shopping trip and noted how busy it was, and how lovely it looked. I returned a few hours later with my family and we had the best time. The staff were brilliant, really outstanding from start to finish. The food was all piping hot, tasty and plenty of it. The sharing starter is amazing, be sure to order one! The service was quick, we didn't wait long between courses. Cocktails are great too, get the Bahama Mama! I really don't have a negative thing to say about Babucho. We will definitely be back.

A great place for a nice dinner or a group event. We came for a team dinner during the World Transplant Games. The food was spectacular and the pictures will speak for all of it. Our server was fantastic but a bit slow at times. But overall we were taken care of very well. Anything on the menu is good. Definitely a place I would come back to if I was in Newcastle

The place has a great atmosphere. We came because their website advertised a vegan menu and to my delight they have an offer on Thursday's where bottles of wine are half price... If that is not a tipping point I don't know what is! The staff are very pleasant and what you'd expect given your surroundings. We had three courses which cost less than £20 on selected meals. I'd say my only gripe was the cocktails were not value for money because they were very small and you will finish them in two goes. The mocktails on the other hand were a good size.

Never been here before first time, there was over a dozen of us, we ate from a fixed choice menu which was a little bit if everthing the food came fairly quickly with both starters & main there was no mistakes & nobody had any complaints mine was spot on. Overall the place was nicely decorated, tidy & clean the staff were friendly & eager to assist the cost was more than acceptable for the food, drink & service. Definitely worth a try this is somewhere that could suit most occasions or just table for 2. Why not 5 stars it would have but a waiter almost spilled food over a colleague it went on the floor instead so 4 for this vist.

We booked for our work Xmas meal it was £35 for a 3 course meal with a complementary Bellini with ya meal. We had a good selection from the Menu, it's was really busy witch was to expect as it was Christmas time are table wasn't ready so they told us to wait at the bar and get a drink, trying to get a drink at the bar was about 10 minutes then our tables was ready. The places has a lovely atmosphere really lovely cosy feel. Staff where lovely & really friendly we had a good laught with our waiter nice guy. Would definitely be back.

Went for Christmas dinner. Starter was nice, main a bit cold (could have done with warming the plates) and for some strange reason vegetables were served separately even though the dish was only for 1 person. Vegetables were very cold! Pudding was ok. They were very busy so I don't know if there were just a few mistakes due to this. I've been before on a weeknight and ordered off the a la carte menu and it was much better. Staff are always really nice.

What a fantastic place to eat! Babucho has a lovely ambiance, it's a place with music and a buzz but where you can still comfortably chat to people while you have your meal. The food and the service was fantastic, couldn't fault it at all. We were there 4 days before Christmas and although it was extremely busy, the staff were efficient and we didn't wait long between courses at all. I could definitely recommend the risotto funghi which was delicious and my friends were equally impressed with their lasagne Al forno and King prawn risotto. I would also recommend the strawberry daquori, mojito and gin and elderflower cocktails. Babuchos is near perfect, the only thing I think they could improve on is their vegetarian options. Other than that, I think they have it spot on. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Excellent food, gorgeous interior, really great value for money. Myself and my partner went here for an evening meal and were pleasantly surprised by the fancy interior, the garlic bread was probably the best I've ever had and the lobster rigatoni had an extrordinary amount of actual fish in it which is nice to see. Overall we thought the price was well justified and the overall dining experience was fantastic.

Beautiful fresh Italian style food! The carbonara was rich and authentic, the poached egg was perfect with a piece of crispy bacon. The garlic bread was freshly made but was a little salty. They do a Sunday roast which is very good quality, you can get a huuuuge fresh Yorkshire pudding with loads of gravy. The set menus are reasonably priced and the house wine is pretty good too. You need to book though as it’s always super busy and popular!

Went for lunch today, had the specials. I had the skins which were amazing & my husband had the wings, he loved them. He then had lasagne, he said it was fantastic, I ordered the veg calzone, I hadn't noticed it had pesto on the top, when it arrived the staff were amazing & offerd to make me a new pizza, I felt it was a waste & it was my fault I hadn't read the menu properly, so instead they removed the pesto for me. It was really nice. The atmosphere was lovely & the staff were great, we even got complimentary glass of wine each! Can't recommend this lovely place enough 😁

Beautiful Italian food and a favourite with my family. The menu is fantastic, but I love the rigatoni salmon so much I can't bring myself to order anything else! Despite being massive, it's always packed out, so book a week or so in advance to avoid disappointment. The service is always spot on as well and you feel really well looked after by the staff. Not sure how it would be for tables of 6 + etc. It was very busy & tables were filled as soon as they were free. Staff cleaned the tables thoroughly after diners had left, & also chairs & around the floor, which i personally like. I hate sitting at a table where there’s evidence of previous diners & their mess. Went for an early evening meal had reasonable service however when we ordered a second round of drinks only 2 arrived we had to remind the staff who quickly brought the other drinks and apologised. When the food came we had ordered half and half pizza/pasta there was very little topping on the pizza and the pasta was very dry. When we were asked if everything was ok we mentioned our concern the waiting staff apologised again and mentioned it to the chefs. Not once did the management come to see us but as recompense they sent over a free glass of fizz each and a nice sweet taster which was a nice touch. The restaurant surroundings are very well decorated with a comfortable feel and a lively atmosphere. I would go back and try again

We booked a table for 4.30pm on a Saturday in June (they were fully booked from 6.00pm to 9pm). It wasn't too busy inside; it was a warm day and the tables outside were mostly taken which gave the whole place a bit of a Mediterranean vibe. Only a couple of small negatives: two of the napkins on our table were stained; we were served by at least five different serving staff (there is no shortage of staff, that's for sure); the food came a little too quickly - it would've been nice to have more than 5 minutes between courses to soak up the atmosphere but if you were in a hurry this would be a plus. The positives by far outweighed the negatives: the food was fresh, tasty and as described on the menu - way better than the likes of Zizzi and no more expensive (our bill for three came to £120 for three courses, four cocktails and a pint of Moretti); portion sizes were spot-on; the Strawberry Daquiris are without a doubt the best in Newcastle. I'd recommend the Roasted Kings Prawns on Tuscan Toast, the Rigatoni Salmon and the Panna Cotta. And the Strawberry Daquiris!

Great ambience on arrival and slick hosts sat us down into the restaurant. Great to see independents busy and every table was full. We had to wait a little too long to order drinks which seemed odd as our waitress had a small section. For starters had the French onion soup and chilli prawns. The food was amazing! French onion soup to rival Kendalls in Leeds and prawns best I've had in UK. Mains had the Lebanese chicken kebab and GF had meatball pasta. Pasta very tasty however kebab quite dry. Wanted desserts and coffees but waitress never brought menus over. Luckily for this place the management are on point. Jason spotted our neglection and came over and resolved this. He was professional, approachable and is a credit to the buisness. Open kitchen meant the pizza chef was on show. Looks like a pro on the bases. Overall the bill came to £60 which is extremely reasonable for 2 courses and 4 beers on a Satursay night. It's a shame our waitress was so poor and the check let it down.

Hadn’t booked called in on off chance,waited 10mins for table but had a comfy chair and drink while waiting.The guy who tools us through to the bar was excellent explained they had a big party just come in but would see to us ASAP.Got me and my husband a lovely table my husband mentioned it was my birthday he came with balloons and put on table.Food was delicious potato skins and risotto I had hubby had chicken wings and ribeye steak.We asked for bill and the two waiters came with a dessert with a candle in and sang happy birthday.Little touches but things that you remember.Defiantly go again thank you for a lovely birthday afternoon.
