Visited with a friend after making a booking a few days earlier. It has a variety of cuisines on the menu so it’s a good place to visit if you aren’t sure what you’re craving. I went for a Thai curry and my friend had schnitzel, she was happy with her dish but mine did not taste authentic. The cocktails were nice we ordered quite a few to make the most of happy hour. Unfortunately this restaurant has lost a star due to having to go looking for the waiter to pay our bill. Be careful if seated on the balcony in the corner, there no easy way to make eye contact with anyone if you need the waiter.

Went on Sunday 26th June for a couple of drinks. Then came back after reading the menu for Lunch. Staff were excellent. Quickly shown our seats by the girl at front of house. Waitress came over quickly and got our drinks order. Then gave us 5 mins to look at the menu. My wife had the Greenhouse Burger. I had the Korean Fried Chicken Burger. Both were excellent. Wife mentioned of all the plant based burgers she's had this one was the best. Beating the Snowy Owl in Cramlington.

I visited Banyan for lunch recently, I had the Chicken Spirali. It was absolutely delicious. I also tried the Fruit Bomb mocktail which was beautiful. Really lovely atmosphere, trendy modern interior and friendly staff. I'd definitely recommend and would visit again as I'd love to sample the cocktails but unfortunately I was driving so it wasn't an option this time.

Great! Didnt know you needed to have reserved seats but was able to find a space anyway until the tables reservation was due. Decent Buy one get one free on cocktails Think the only downside to it was you have to get two of the same cocktails for it to apply

Starter was lovely but main average. Was meant to have salsa on but was just the smallest bit of tomato. Quite dry and a bit tasteless. The cocktails were amazing and the restaurant is beautiful. Not sure I would go again for food as it doesn't identify itself as something specific food wise. I would go again for drinks !

Went for brunch for daughters18th. Slight disappointed that no staff mentioned her birthday, but never mind. Decor nice. Very noisy as large group of lads in. Immediately told what food they didn't have, I always find that rather odd. Tea options were very poor. No green tea, or decaff tea, although offered on menu. Food was good on the whole. Not a huge selection though pancakes cold however. Felt as though it could have been slightly better experience than I anticipated.

Called in for a bite to eat and a few drinks on a Saturday afternoon. I was very happy with my meal and the cocktails. The meal portions were good value and the cocktails were great. The staff were very friendly and polite and there was a nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back and worth a visit.

We came here as a compromise as my partner wanted to watch the football and I didn’t want to sit in a pub as it was my birthday. The atmosphere was really great and the cocktails were delicious PLUS 241. We managed to get a table in front of a screen which made my partner very happy and I got double espresso martinis so a win win. The cocktails were really yummy and I would definitely go again.

We had a fantastic time at the bottomless brunch – the staff were super attentive and we definitely got our money’s worth for the drinks! They even came and reminded us to order again when our time was almost up! The brunch food included wasn’t super fancy/a huge portion, but it was tasty and the drinks were the main attraction - a lovely range of cocktails on offer!

Service was prompt an fast, the staff an table service wonderful, even the pleasant polite welcome from the concierge at door to be taken an seated to our table made you feel special, such a lovely personalised, customer service touch it was like fine dining, Now a days those restaurant qualities have gone all fast food, but so happy to say banyan bar & kitchen, still have those personal customers service very refreshing. We will be dining there again wonderful thank you to all staff in the Newcastle banyan. If I could have given more than 5 stars I truly would have the decor was so lovely too.👍👍👍

Cocktails good but are expensive even on 2 4 1. You have to get 2 of the same Cocktails in the deal you can't choose a different one, this is because, they make 1 cocktail to fit 2 glasses by using large ice cubes at the bottom and crushed ice at the top so rather than being 241 it's more like buy 1 get 2 empty glasses to share 1 cocktail 🍸

Spotlessly clean and friendly staff. Really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered even though I’m not used to this less spicy food. The staff gave me extra chilli sauce to make it my style. Keep up the good work team banyan. Will come again. But felt little overpriced for such small amount. Overall 5/5 really enjoyed.

Atmosphere and food was amazing, only major problem was the attitude of the staff member on the front door, I don't usually give negative feedback but this is the 2nd time I have been rudely greeted by a member of staff here. Once upstairs we had a lovely member of staff who served us and explained how it worked and if we needed anything, just give her a shout! It's very unfortunate that I have had to give 3 stars, it would be more but sadly this has had a negative impact on my visits, not once but twice now.

Went for Sunday lunch and the food was very good as well as the drinks. Very reasonable price and sunday lunch deals for two courses. Arrived quickly and they brought an extra side we didn't order but told us we could keep it at their discretion which was nice. The location is great , especially if you're sitting outside watching Newcastle go by. The food isn't too bad but not great. Her Gorgeousness had bangers and mash which she said was good. Pity she forgot to order some veg to go with it. I ordered a chicken and crispy bacon ciabatta which was ok. The staff were lovely, which does make all the difference.

I'm surprised to see a few negative reviews for this place. I visited with some friends on a busy Friday evening and we had a fantastic time. I had booked a table online the day before with no issues. Our server was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. My only fault is the fact the meals could be viewed as slightly overpriced, however you get what you pay for. I will definitely be returning.

The interior is absolutely stunning and is matched by high quality food and drinks. A brilliant addition to Newcastle's food and drinks scene. Their private dining room is incredible, would be great for special occasions or even business meetings. Very impressed!

Really good bar since taking over from 'Jamie's Italian'. Much better atmosphere. Plenty seating areas and no riff raff. 80's music seems to be the choice of music everytime I've been in, but that suits me perfectly. We always go to Banyan on an afternoon/evening out in Toon.
