Been trying to get here for a long time - I was not disappointed!! I love everything about this place. The Tapas set up really suited me because when I saw the menu I wanted to try everything. My favourites were the steak and the croquettes. Churros were to die for too. Everything had a beautiful mix of flavours and textures which made the meal really interesting. My friend enjoyed her sangria too The interior is like stepping into another world a bit - another country and another time, maybe only 50 years back. Its cosy but interesting, lots to look at and the vibe makes you want to stay and relax a while with your friends and good chat. Very popular so must book. Highly recommend

Excellent food and atmosphere. Make sure you call up and book as on a busy night you may not be able to walk in. A member of the table was vegan and asked which potatas bravas was vegan, as they both looked the same. Server did not know and was about to put it down until we asked. Also the chef asked her if she was okay with yeast. It came across a bit passive aggressive. More training and understanding needed with vegan customers.

This unassuming little Tapas restaurant on the outskirt of Newcastle was absolutely divine. Everything from the atmosphere to the drinks, the food, to the staff was perfect and your couldn't have ask for more. Excellent selection of food and drinks, very fast delivery and most importantly personal service. Charlie was extremely helpful with her advice regarding the food and drink and also gave us recommendations for the next day breakfast which also has not disappointed. Highly recommended and we will make it our mission to book a reservation the next time we are up in Newcastle.

Can't wait to return to try more of the plates. Great service (so quick), unbelievably lovely staff who's names I didn't catch but the 2 ladies working 24/05 around 7-9pm you were both so attentive and polite! All the food was gorgeous, unfortunately we were too busy tucking in to the millions of plates that kept coming but everything was well portioned and we were all absolutely stuffed when sharing 9 plates between 3 of us. Drinks were lovely too.

When you have the British weather keeping you down, this place can take you to Spain and you don't even have to get on a plain with Screaming kids. The food, service and atmosphere in Boquerones is outstanding. Completely recommended there's food and drink choices for everyone and if you mispronounce everything on the menu you aren't made a fool of. Hidden in plain sight on Heaton Road, this should be a meal/drink stop for anyone, be it something just before that early afternoon siesta or before hitting the town. Come for the food, keep coming back for the atmosphere and experience.

Beautiful tapas restaurant! We called as were running late due to traffic and it was no hassle to the staff to keep our table, the attention of the staff when we got there was 1st class. 11/10! hands down the best tapas place in the area. we got a massive amount of food and it all came out very quickly and was genuinely some of the best food I've ever eaten. every plate of food was hands down a 10/10. staff were all lovely and really helpful, suggesting things that they thought we might like, and when the bill came we were expecting another £20/30 on top of what it came out to be. boquerones is definitely a hidden gem and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My first visit last night with my son. I am a very difficult person to feed as I am limited to the food I like and can eat so going out can be such a challenge for me. The friendly staff where amazing but the food was incredible. Probably the best tapas I have ever had. Great portion sizes and cooked to perfection and great options for me to enjoy. My compliments to the chef and all staff. Cannot wait to return.

The food and staff here are absolutely incredible 🥰 drinks are amazing too, I wouldn't hesitate to make a booking if you're thinking about booking somewhere for tapas. It's one of my favourite restaurants in Heaton. I would love to see the the downstairs part of the restaurant with lamps instead of overhead lighting and different flooring, as it feels very different compared to upstairs.

Boquerones is good! When we went there, there wasn't enough tables on the first floor, so we had to go downstairs. Downstairs however, was absolutely amazing! ❤ It was so spacious! We asked for one of those coffees with the designs on top and 2 orange juices. They brought in down in less that 3 minutes!! 3 minutes!! After that we ordered breakfast. Now the waiting time was really long, but I don't know if that was because of the amount of food we ordered. The food was okay to say the least. I didn't like it much but that's my fault. I should've read the menu more carefully. All in all, it's a good place and I definitely recommend it!! ❤🔥🌟

One of our favourite places for a quiet evening bite to eat. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The menu isn't so big that you can't decide and you don't have to wait ages for it to arrive. Good selection of cocktails, wine and drinks too. The staff are great and always friendly, without being over the top checking on you every 5 minutes. Lockdown layout is good, with the restaurant being busy but not overcrowded. If you've not been here, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Our party of 8 visited Boquerones for late lunch, having booked as the place is fairly small. The tapas menu was varied with something for everyone, including gluten free options. Service was excellent and they brought out the tapas dishes as each was ready which spread the meal out for us, which was ideal.Food was excellent and atmosphere perfect for our group. Would definitely visit again.

Have travelled a lot in Spain over the last year due to having a number of Spanish friends. As such I was really happy to find this place following the true Spanish tradition of inventive and innovative tapas rather than just serving standard fare. In particular, the tempura aubergine fritters with maple syrup were incredible as were the prawns. All washed down with an excellent gin and tonic. Highly recommended

Small but pleasant tapas restaurant with good food and reasonable tarrif. Staff helpful and polite, several specials available at time of visit- for example, three tapas for £10.50- and the chicken and meatballs were both excellent dishes. From 18.00 cocktails are served, with another offer being two for £10. Well worth a visit, and if you consider tapas not to be your scene, this place will convert you!

The food here blew me away, every dish was so full of flavour. We had the patatas bravas with halloumi, chorizo with honey, calamari, Spanish omelette and chicken skewers. Would highly recommend all the dishes, the standout being the patatas bravas- easily the best patatas bravas I’ve had! Everything is really good value too, and the atmosphere nice and intimate. I’ll definitely be returning.

(Translated) All exquisite tapas, especially the calamari and croquettes. The churros were too oily and the fried peppers a bit undercooked but everything else was cooked to perfection. The portions were quite generous, for what one usually finds in Spanish restaurants, I would recommend 3 tapas per person if you come here, it was enough for us. The service was masterful, from making the reservation to how the waitresses treated us, with great kindness. The restaurant is a bit small since it has quite a few tables for the size of the flat, but for us it was not a problem, although we could hardly fit all the tapas on the table. We had a great time, honestly, if you miss Spanish food this is an excellent place to go! (Original) Todas las tapas exquisitas, especialmente los calamares y las croquetas. Los churros estaban demasiado aceitosos y los pimientos fritos un poco crudos, pero todo lo demás lo cocinaron a la perfección. Las porciones estuvieron bastante generosas, para lo que se suele uno encontrar en restaurantes españoles, yo recomendaría 3 tapas por persona si venís aquí, a nosotros nos fue suficiente. El servicio fue magistral, desde al hacer la reserva hasta cómo nos trataron las camareras, con una gran amabilidad. El restaurante es un poco pequeño ya que tiene bastantes mesas para el tamaño del piso, pero para nosotros no fue ningún problema, aunque casi no nos caben todas las tapas en la mesa. Nos lo pasamos muy bien, sinceramente, si echáis de menos la comida española este es un excelente lugar al que ir!!
