My wife found this takeaway when searching for gluten free chip shops in Newcastle. Great reviews so we tried it out. Everything cooked to order so really fresh. It wasn't just the batter that was gluten free but the vinegar as well. So many options for gluten free, it's great to see a takeaway catering for those that cannot tolerate gluten. Overall... 10/10. Friendly, attentive staff and it was clear they knew their customers. Food really fresh and tasting great.

Nice gluten free fish, chips and curry. Phoned up to order and they were ready when we arrived. 8 out of 10 for the fish, chips and curry. The missus was a bit disappointed as they didn't have any haddock, but the cod tasted nice. We were only passing through, but we would visit again if we're in the area.

Booked in advance for good Friday fish and chips and were not disappointed!! Loved my lite bite meal of gluten free cod bites & chips with curry sauce. You get plenty for a small meal and it’s soooo reasonable. So glad I rang and ordered, the queue was so far up the road!! This was at 6.15. When we opened our food it was still really hot 5/10 mins later. The curry sauce is so tasty too! Not too greasy either. My boyfriend got normal cod & chips with mushy peas and his was huge piece of fish. He really enjoyed his too. We will be back 😊

UNBELIEVABLE SERVICE! I had booked a Too Good To Go from Canny Cod and arrived when they had unfortunately completely closed the shop! Luckily however the owner was just outside and I mentioned I had a Too Good To Go order with them... He said it was absolutely fine and fully opened the entire shop to cook me fresh food. This meant turning all the cooking machines back on and get fresh food for me! Not only that, he also gave me SO much food! I fully recommend this place not only because of how tasty the food was but also because it feels as though the management is really in touch with the customers. They made me feel comfortable and very welcome even when they were fully closed! Amazing service and definitely will be back!

I ordered on too good to go app my children where so happy we traked from fenham to the shop ,just to reach there to find out they have no food for me, which they said I cancelled my order which I showed them evidence, am absolutely gutted now I have to find something for the kids. Update Thank you Mark for showing me and my family you do care about your customers. We recieved our package delivered to our house we really enjoyed the meal.I also ordered twice after the incident.

Have to change my review. On my last two occasions at the canny cod it somehow has a different feel to the place, like it's going through some sort of transition, maybe new staff I'm not sure, but when I used to come here it was usually a pleasure to buy my food. The last couple of times it's been slow or it feels like I was being ignored over other customers in the shop. I have tried to go again, but with only 30 mins for dinner and chips not being ready or staff chatting on to others in the shop it leaves me.no time.

First timer here! Have to say I absolutely would recommend this place for Gluten Free food. From the moment I spoke to the lovely lady on the phone (fab customer service putting me at ease) and the on time delivery handed by a very happy friendly young man, I knew this was the place to order from. The food of course was perfect. I had GF sausage and chips. Cooked and still hot. Definitely coming again!! :D

Great fish and chips, not too expensive and really friendly staff. Sometimes the chips are a little on the underdone side but that’s just my personal preference! Haven’t tired it but they seem to have a great Sunday lunch menu as well, so this is more than just a fish and chip shop

Great gluten free fish and chips, delivered. Glorious. 😍 They even did me gf onion rings too. Oh and it's a proper portion too. None of that "if you're ordering gf you probably think it's healthier and want a small one" that lots of places do. Strangely this has become our go to when we can't face cooking 💜❤💜❤ I understand the gluten filled pizza is pretty good too 😉
