Finally made it here after hearing great things, was not disappointed! We had lunch of 3 tacos and fries and an extra special taco with Octopus (which im told by my partner was delicious) will definitely be back soon and hopefully try out some of their exciting sounding cocktails too!

Today had been looking forward to having the same again, however my girlfriend ordered this time and nachos were at least half the size which was disappointing and put a dampener on the experience, plus was left hungry as we had accounted for the same size nachos

Visited Chucho's recently and was immediately seated. They had a great selection of Mexican drinks on their menu - highly recommended the Michelada. Between the two of us, we shared the nachos, 3 tacos and a burrito. We only had to ask once for everything to be adapted for vegan, which was ideal. The nachos were delecious and beautifully presented. The refried black beans and pico de gallio were amazing and the chips were homemade. We also had the cactus, fajita and blackbean/plantain taco. First off the taco shells were super authentic and delicious. The fajitas probably weren't my favourite but the other two were spot on. We shared the courgette and sweetcorn burrito which was filled to the brim and packed with flavour. The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was buzzing. All round great experience.

Super lovely food, however the room was cold, no hot drinks were available and quite a few items on the menu were unavailable. The tacos were lush though, so will be back despite the problems.

We visited this place and fell in love instantly. This was at that awkward time between lunch and dinner and doesn’t qualify for neither and are very happy with the food. Best Tacos around, this is a hidden gem of a place. The service is good the prices are fair. Hands down beats allothe Mexican style chain restaurants. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. This would make a killing if it was situated closer to Newcastle Town centre.

First time customer .... The take out food was beautiful but two of my family members both agreed that they would've liked a little more filling in their burritos 🌯 which were a little on the thin side. My tacos 🌮 were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious (which is exactly what I expected) but the tiny little boxes they used for the three portions of chips (which cost a whopping £10.50 in total - £3.50 a portion) left me feeling rather hungry and a little disappointed 🍟. I'm not a big eater which is why I decided to have the tacos but I can't EVER recall having such a small portion of chips in my whole adult life. I think the boxes are the same size as the ones they use in Nandos for a portion of takeout hummus. I have awarded 4**** because despite the gripe I had with the size of the portions the food was exceptional quality and the presentation on the taco's was outstanding (and I strongly believe that good food should be commended), however, I deducted 1* as I feel that overall I did not get value for money in relation to the chips (and the lack of filling in the burritos which were very tasty but a little lacking in some of the ingredients). I still recommend Chucho's to anyone who would like to sample some of their Mexican cuisine (as the food is exceptional) and I would definitely buy their tacos again without a doubt. I'm not sure I would purchase their chips or burritos because of the reasons above .... 🍟🌮🌯

It doesn't look much and in an uninspiring location, but the food here is really excellent. Authentic Mexican food and well made. Reasonable range of cocktails, although room for improvement. The room layout could be improved also, it felt like tables were looking over each other too much.

Rightly famous for their tacos, the rest of the menu and cocktails are of the highest quality, too. You won't get better this side of the Yucatan. I tried the new taco dorado, deep fried and delicious. We went again yesterday and the tacos were even better than ever. Cannot recommend highly enough.

All I can say is thank yo so much.!! Myself and girlfriend arrived for a couple of beers and a few tacos.as we sat down we noticed a whole tub of paint had spilled in our back pack on the mobile phone all over everything. the lovely man serving us helped out so much so helpful and so kind.. I’ve ate at Chuchos in excess of 100 times. Whether it be the Original Byker Location, the secondary Jesmond spot, or the recently opened Restaurant at the top of Shields Road Byker I have never left without being impressed. What appears to be an unassuming restaurant on the outside is a vehicle of discovery for some of most authentic and tasty Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. I’ve sampled the menu top to bottom and even had some creations and variations not included on the menu, and it’s safe to say it’s my favourite restaurant and one I’ll never tire of eating at. You eat in a laidback atmosphere and the service is second to none. You genuinely feel as if you’re eating at a family dinner table. This is a restaurant that deserves all the praise it has received so far with hopefully more to come in the future. The people I’ve introduced to Chuchos up and down the country have never left without being impressed and wanting more, that truly says a lot. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Mexico look no further, Chuchos is your perfect destination.

Chucho’s sandwich bar, is their new little cafe around the corner. Delicious breakfast burrito with great coffee for £5! I had the vegetarian Mexican with scrambled egg, feta, black beans and homemade chipotle sauce- scrummy! Can’t wait for the tamales!

I tried this place on recommendation, and was not disappointed. First impressions - limited menu. Don't let that put you off. They are on chalk boards as you go in. They do a deal, 3 dishes for£8 which I would recommend. I went for the chorizo dish, the chicken and the haggis dishes. Wow, an explosion of flavours as you bite into them. My favourite was the haggis. They come in a tortilla with salad. Delicious does not do it justice. Top notch street food here, I know restaurant's that are not as good as this.

I had a lovely family party here on a Saturday afternoon in January 2020, celebrating a special event. There were 23 of us and we were all very hungry 😋😃 Chuchos reserved their Jesmond cafe for us and we had the MOST fabulous afternoon. We enjoyed every taco on their menu plus nachos, chips, churros... Everything was freshly cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful - such friendly and hospitable staff for whom nothing was a bother. It all just felt so comfortable and homely. We all loved it. And... it didnt break the bank. Can't recommend this place enough. If you have a discerning palate and enjoy being well looked after you won't be disappointed! ❤🇮🇹

I'd been hoping to find a taco spot that rivals the taco's that I had at a small mexican establishment in Berlin 6 years ago (I wish I could recall the name) but had yet to find one until I visited this spot. I live in London and a lot of places can cook up great fillings, but rarely get the actual wraps right. I favour proper corn wraps, that are both soft, yet crisp, and Chucho's get this bang on. During my visit, I initially tried 3 taco's, the Chorizo, Haggis and Chicken. Pleasantly surprised, I had no choice but to try two more, the pork and the veggie option. I couldn't fault any of the five. Bear in mind that I've maybe left one review in my whole life, so for me to be bothered to type this all out says a lot. I'll be making my way back up to Newcastle to visit again soon, and will be bringing some mates.

Absolutely excellent authentic food cooked to a standard not matched anywhere else in Newcastle. The menu is short but very varied. You pick 3 so get to try several. Additional spicy salsas are available for those who want extra heat, they also sell soft drinks and bottles of beer. The plates, napkins and cutlery have a real focus on being recyclable materials which is an added bonus. This is fast food style service. You can sit down but it is a quick turnover so ideal for lunches or a dinner on the go. Highly recommendable.

The best “taquería” (taco’s restaurant) I have found in England. They taste a lot like real mexican tacos. Chucho’s has a wide variety of tacos but you cannot find them all everyday. As for salsas, they have three kinds, pico de gallo (mild), green (spicy), and habanero (the orange one and this one is the spiciest they have, so if you can’t handle it don’t put to much). They also have a deal of three tacos for £7, which adding the canned soda at £1, doesn’t increase the price that much. I personally recommend the Alambre, Chorizo and Cochinita tacos. It isn’t weird to find the place crowded at some hours, and that might cause the service to soow down. However, the wait is worth it. People attending are really nice and try to make you feel comfortable. Also, they all speak spanish, so don’t think it twice to order in spanish if you are hispanic.

A crispy style taco named doridos is a must try. The place is tiny so ideal for take aways rather than dine in.. staff is friendly and will accommodate customisation requests gladly as they love to feed people good food. Great place for Mexican dishes. Almost the real deal. They make their own tortillas and although they are amongst the best you can find in the UK, they don't taste like the Mexican ones. Try the carnitas and the mole. The salsas here are really spicy, so be careful with them, specially with the green ones as they are made entirely with "chiles" and oil.

Warm welcome & good advice re veggie options (plenty of meat dishes on offer as well). Went for a 3 taco mix & match - 2 soft, 1 rolled and fried so crunchy on the outside with spicey potato & onion filling - kind of a Mexican samosa. I taco with a delicious black bean concoction and one with courgettes & mixed peppers, onion etc. Served with side salad, fresh lime segments and 3 optional home made salsas to daub over. It was truly the tastiest veggie eat I’ve had in a long time and all for £7 eat in. I had water with me, but they do beers soft drinks and can pay with card or cash. Mucho gusto!!!

The best mexican food in Newcastle, it's got a small menu. But its done right, the quality of the ingredients and the end product are delicious. I had the pastor, chorizo and fajita tacos three times. Stay away from that chiquitos nonsense and go get "verdadera comida mexicana"👌🇲🇽

Took my wife and three children to Chucos as I am half Mexican and was feeling a little homesick! Absolutely. Amazing. Nachos like we make them back home!! No doritos in sight. Thank, god. Children were kept occupied and didn't annoy us too much, they had the baby burritos which I had to try, they were nice and warm. The atmosphere was like we were back on the beach in Cancun on spring break. It also reminded me of my Nans plant shop in Sacremento, so clean. Great we will all be returning. I plan to bring my manchego band here for a light snack in the coming months, when winter takes hold. Anyway, yes I love Chucos and everyone there. I will drop by later. 👌🏻
