Nice place this. We had pizza, a burger and chips and shared. Pizza was fantastic, could have not had the burger. It was nice but wouldn’t have it again. Good beer selection. Good staff. Doesn’t take American Express. Baby changing has to be accessed by a lift and uses the Theatre facilities which run underneath the bar.

We were originally intending to go to Pizza Punks however when we arrived there was a sign on the door saying that they had ran out of gluten free bases...so we tried Dat Bar instead and were really impressed with the place. My pizza was incredible, had many toppings and tasted even better than what I expected, my partner's gluten free pizza was also great. We both would love to return to this place.

Decent bar, drinks and lovely bar staff. However the doormen ruin it. They stopped the bar staff serving me and my partner for nothing. Was very frustrating. Will never come to the bar again because of how ridiculous the bouncers are. *update* Following a lovely response from the Management. I have changed my review to reflect how nice of a night we did have. It is unfortunate a doorman ruined what was a lovely evening but it’s out of the bar’s control.

Authentic Italian food with an edgy interior. Not what you expect at all but very cool in there. Food was immense, we got the classic margherita's to try out and they were like nothing we've tasted in Newc before. Lovely staff who can't do enough for you, good vibes all round!

Proper, home made, delicious, and wonderful Italian food served in town. I have been here on numerous occasions and I can tell you that everything is made from scratch and is properly filling as well. It also has a bar attached to it so it is great if you just want a pint. The resturant is a hidden treasure and worth it if you like italian food done well.

First time I've eaten here and have to say i I was surprised. Myself & my friend were just grabbing a quick bite while out & about so shared a margherita pizza. Service was quick & friendly and the pizza was decent quality. Although not in my top pizza in Newcastle, it definitely wasn't disappointing by any means.

A cosy bar with a great selection of beers, I tried the Almasty sea salt & chocolate stout, which was amazing. They also do really good freshly baked pizzas, I had a free slice when they were promoting Almasty beers. Located in the centre of Newcastle, just by the theatre and close to the metro station.

Visited for drinks yesterday (20/09/20) for the first time since covid. They have clearly worked hard to make the place as covid-secure as possible - there is even a full-on handwashing station set up near the entrance to the bar! I felt very safe during my visit. The food is also great - their pizzas are consistently among the best in Newcastle!

Is a bar with a restaurant. The bar has a good selection of craft beers with around twenty on tap at all times. The restaurant serves burgers and pizzas that are both pretty good. It has seating for around 40 people. The staff are friendly but can sometimes be a little slow, especially when you're waiting to pay. There is very little in the way of parking nearby but it is very close to Monument metro station.

Visited during the week for a few drinks and was really impressed. Great for beer lovers, with a great selection on tap- with an impressive variety, IPA, DIPA, Sours, German Weisse, good old Moretti etc etc. There was a cocktail menu but my wife was able to get a Margarita made to order by the excellent bar staff, despite not actually being on the menu. Great place overall with quirky comic book style decor. Would love to go back and try the food options.

Had lunchtime deal £7.95 for 2 courses. Arancini was lush, cod stuff peppers really nice. Pizzas were big and we couldn't finish them. Ham was gorgeous however the pesto on pizza was the same as on the cod and it made the pizza taste fishy somehow. Definitely recommend though

It's been a while since I actually ate here, and the mini sliders were quite watery to be honest. But I've heard things have improved. Good selection of beers.

I found the beers here to be a little lacking in the originality. Some by Pressure Drop but the majority were not all that impressive. It was full of middle aged men, most of them drinking on their own. I tried to order a beer and knew that the keg was full of air and dud but the barman kept me waiting for about 10 minutes whilst he tried to push it through. I said I was happy to change but he insisted it would be fine. 10 minutes later he said it wasnt coming through. A total waste of my time. I can see they are trying to make this a cool place to go though and I didn't try the food in the connecting restaurant so I'll definitely have to come back and give it another go.

We popped in for a quick beer, and stayed for hours. The choice and quality of beers is great, the staff are helpful and knowledgeable, the food is lovely - we had chips and burgers and they were great. Loved it so much we went again the next day.

An ever changing list of draught beers, brewery events and a great atmosphere. Music pounds through the place late nights at the weekend, but never too loud. Modern bar that doesn't have the usual punters slung over the bartop glugging cheap cask ale, a nice change! Well organised menu, great service and great food too; lots of veggie+vegan options, but a little pricey.

Everytime Ive popped in the atmosphere is good and filled with energy. The bar staff are helpful and happy to give you a run down of whats on the menu and a sample of the beer too (always appreciated).There are a good selection of beers and the food looks tasty too, although i've never tried it. I'd say it was definitely worth popping in for a pint after a hard days shopping or to start the evening.

After discovering Bierrex in Newcastle, I found out they also owned Dat Bar. On first visit I went to have a beer to check the place out. I had a most delicious measure of Magic Rock IPA, and decided to come back the next day for a pizza as it was highly recommended to me by Paul, the bar man. The place has a wall of death theme and has got a great feel about it with some interesting and unusual art decor. The bar is in front of you as you enter with a dining area on the left. The main dish of the restaurent is sourdough Pizza, however there are also salads and burgers amongst other things on the menu. I must say the Tallulah Mae Pizza with the Calabrian sausage works so well together on the sourdough, really delicious. The crust on the pizza was perfect and there was the right amount of cheese. Really delicious, you know the people here take pride in what they do. If you like craft beer and american style food then this is the place for you in Newcastle. i can't wait to go back.
