Reviews of Ernie Deli Shop

Great place we stopped at after walking around Ouseburn District. Much doesn't open til midday and much doesn't open every day (!) in this area, so pleased to find them open. Lovely sweet treats to go with the coffees and a really good shop attached.

Great deli and takeaway full of interesting and delicious food. A wide range of drinks, bread, cakes, store cupboard items and other goodies. Freshly made sandwiches and bagels to takeaway, cold drinks and sweet treats. Service at the shop or through the hatch. Would recommend the plastic free chewing gum!

Absolutely love Ernie’s - tucked underneath Ernest the shop is brimmed with local fresh produce, foods, coffees, beers - just a cool indie supermarket with a focus on sustainability and quality.
Plenty of food options to grab - personal favourite is the massive sandwiches. Staff are always mint, properly friendly and good craic.

Lovely new shop full of goodies . There are some good refillable products which will be great after the initial outlay of the container. There are some tasty products which are a little different so shopping is a pleasurable experience . The flat white was perfect - the milk was exactly the right temperature. If you want to go regularly, avoid Sunday midday as it was very busy - maybe because it has just opened . The staff were polite and friendly - I will definitely be a regular customer .

This place has the best coffee I have ever tried. Also, the best staff; they are always polite and friendly, and it is always a pleasure to come there. 100% my favourite place for coffee in Newcastle, and I would recommend it without a doubt.

Brilliant orange juice, which Since I found Ernests’ I’ve been going a couple of times a week, but today I’m quite disappointed, I have rang previously to confirm dogs are allowed in the shop and I was advised that they absolutely were. I was specific to the shop not the cafe upon calling. Today however on a regular visit for said orange juice, I was advised that dogs however were not allowed in the shop. For a shop which I would describe as wholesomely independent and none commercial I’m actually really disappointed that in 2022, people & their canine companions are ostracised. The person whom did advise me, was nice enough, but was incapable of apologising for the incorrect information given to me. I likely will visit the place again, but will more so have to rely on the giant companies on my weekly shop instead of the convenience of picking something up on my morning dog, it pains me when I can’t take my girl to independent places such as this with me, Newcastle is still living in the dark ages when it comes to pets it seems.

A gorgeous modern grocer/deli/independent shop. Everything from fresh veg, to coffee bean and store cupboard essentials can be found here along with a nice craft beer selection.

The vegan sandwiches are unreal. They are so tasty! Staff are super friendly too

Lovely little shop, love the idea of locally sourced goods and eco-friendly products and refills. Very friendly, but some things are a bit overpriced like sandwiches.

we always call at Ernie when in Ouseburn. staff are always really friendly, great selection of produce and ready made food/coffee either through the hatch or inside the store. always great to support local businesses but it's made much easier when they're as good as Ernie.

Lovely bread, great selection of small local brands and a whole lot more

Tiny organic deli and takeaway coffee/cake/sandwich stop. The shop is a little overpriced, but the fresh organic veggies are good value. The takeaway coffee and snacks are delicious!
