Best fish & chips in a very long time in fact ever! I drive past fenham fish bar in the morning on way home from my nightshift at the Freeman hospital & always fancied trying it but it's not really near me however I made an effort to go & so pleased I did. Totally excellent in every way wouldn't go anywhere else now.

Simply the best... Not much else really to say. Best Chippy in the North East in my opinion. My personal favourite, Jumbo Battered Sausage, Chips, Bread Bun & Tartar Sauce washed down with A Can of Irn Bru. Give it a go! It's a Winner.

Fantastic food, I've came here for many years. I live in the south now and it's the only place I will come to when I go home for a weekend for 'proper' fish and chips. Only feedback would be to cook the chips a smidge longer as they were slightly anaemic last time however this doesn't stop me from going!

The Best Fish and chips in the area by far. Love this takeaway, always busy just shows the amount of quality that they use to make their delicious food. I always have the haddock with chips and two lots of mushy peas and tartar sauce as they are super fresh. They usually have a good set of specials also available and if I fancied a change I could be persuaded to get one of them instead. Delivery is available also and is super duper quick 110% recommended!

As always I love this place, the staff are really friendly even on a warm sweaty day. Social distancing is in place but with the new layout and design it works well on a hot sunny day but your gonna need to be brave if it's raining as for good reason the place is very popular. We wont go anywhere else for our fish a chips and hats off to the staff and owners and long may it last

The best fish and chips in the North East! Great quality food, very fresh and cooked to order. Don't let the big queues put you off, they have an efficient system for placing orders so your food gets cooked while you are queuing. Last fry is 8.50pm so make sure you arrive before then if you want to get your order in.

If you are English, this is a very good place for you. Great batter and amazing chips. I dont know, maybe they use meat stock or something in their batter or maybe fry chips in beef dripping but is good. As an Asian, the thing I don't like is the fish isn't fresh. It is quite mushy (relative to when its fresh) and doesn't have the sweetness that fresh seafood has. The haddock was relatively better but still not fresh. (And yes, you are lucky if you can find fresh Cod in this city lol)

Fresh food lovely workers on the front. Could be a bit quicker during peak times. Ran out of chips twice while I was there... However that just says how good it is I guess! I got them fresh and hot. And eaten ever last one! Was yum. Highly recommended!!! Best chippy this side of the river I'd say. (I've just come from London and can't get a decent chippy no where down south... So was lovely to come home to this)

I managed to have the best fish and chips on good Friday DURING A PANDEMIC thanks to Fenham Fish Bar!! How amazing is that! The staff are working harder to ensure the best sevice and standards have not slipped. The portion size is and always has been very generous and the price in comparison to portion size is amazing! Its my mams birthday on 21st May so will definately be treating her to the best fish and chips around! Thank you to all the staff xx

Best Chippy there is, I've been a loyal customer here since the early 90's. Don't get me wrong when I've been miles & miles away i have tried others but they are always compared to 'Fenham Fishy' & they never come close. I do suggest that if this place is not close to you do not buy it because any other place will never be good enough... Be Warned lol.

The que outside the shop speaks for itself as to how good the food is. The homemade brownies are delicious and the home made mince and dumplings are fantastic. Always Fantastic! Despite living in Blaydon we also use this Chippy. The quality of the food is second to none, good value and the staff are outstanding so helpful and very efficient. THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS I EVER HAD! a little bit too much oil / fat content BUT....still the best ever! Fresh fish so fresh they even have the name of the days trawler and fishermen on their board! BETTER THAN HARRY RAMSDENS! home made tarta sauce, mushy peas etc. REAL CHIPS ....not frozen! My only complaint is could they shake off the cooking oil rather than poor it in over the food in the serving bays as they add more food. It is noted the highest fat content but still the very best ever! I will go back there for my fish n chips in future. Superb! So good I can't even knock off any points for the little complaint I have...... It just blows all the other chippy's out of the water!

First class chippy, very popular and for good reason. Always display details of local fish source. It can get quite busy due to its popularity, but well worth the wait. There's a small car parking area in front and a good car park next to it. They now have a ticket system where you order and get a ticket, then wait in line.
