Gorgeous food, fantastic entertainment. I took out family of four and the kids really enjoyed it. All the food is cooked in front of you by the chef and he catches eggs in his hat and chopped up an omelette and scooped it to everyone to catch in their mouths like popcorn and that got lots of Whoa's and laughs. Not cheap, we have the standard banquet and it was £100 for 4 plus drinks. But it was a great experience and I highly recommend it for a different night out. The salmon tasted like steak when it was cooked. The photo shows all the ingredients that are freshly cooked on front of you.

Loved the Teppanyaki here, we got the seafood banquet. The lobster was cooked with amazing flavours and was really juicy. There wasn’t a great selection of drinks though. I would also not bother getting anything other than the Teppanyaki banquet, I got a bowl of udon for £10 which was not good value when theres better banquet options available! Chef and service from waiters was super, really friendly. We got a lovely birthday show on the grill and a sing song, very nice, would definitely come back here!

A restaurant that's not just about the food but also its entertainment! The chefs are highly skilled and engaging. It was an amazing experience! A big table with hot plate has around 7 seats. Do expect yourself to be sharing a table with other diners if you come in smaller groups. The restaurant has ensured covid safety measures e.g one-way system and plastic barriers between social groups though.

Really recommend this place! I've been a couple of times. Food is amazing and will fill you up, good quality ingredients are used and the flavours are wonderful. I suggest to buy the set menu things where you get a set selection of things. Ive had salmon, shrimp, chicken, lobster, scallops, etc, all delicious and fresh, I even had some wonderful steak there and I usually am not a fan of steak, but this one was delicious. Even something as simple as fried rice and vegetables is done deliciously here. The atmosphere is always great, the chefs are friendly and entertaining with their skills and theatrical tricks. Also super fun watching the food on fire :)

Fun display and amazing delicious food. Go for the banquets, the best value for the money. Unfortunately no lobster on Sundays. Banquets are £24 - £40 per person and really fulfilling.

We hadn't been for a teppan yaki meal for around ten years (we used to go to hanahana), and had a meal here this afternoon. Wow, first meal as a family after lockdown and we had the best time. Amazing food, cooked to perfection in terms of tenderness and flavor, great value and fantastic entertainment. I honestly can't think of a better family experience in the north east, everyone from our 2 year old to the 60 year olds had a lovely time and can't wait to book again.

A fun dining experience with tasty food and cool staff. The menu has a good range of dishes including a la carte dishes, teppanyaki set meals, as well as sushi. We had one of the set meals, which was decent value and included a nice variety of courses. The meat was nicely cooked and seasoned, and the whole meal was filling but not overly so. Food aside, central to the experience is the chef cooking in front of you, which was entertaining, especially because our chef was particularly charismatic and fun. Kids will love it, and even for adults it's a fun novelty which sets it apart from other (non-teppanyaki) restaurants. The waiting staff were lovely too. Overall, it would be great for larger groups, but even for smaller parties it's an enjoyable and different dining experience.

Some of the best food I have ever eaten, the tabletop service and the experience of it all are simply unbeatable, the staff are always super friendly especially the cooks who play host to the table. The miso soup was my personal favourite as it felt so warm and hearty. The place as a whole has an incredible atmosphere and it's just perfect.

We booked a work night out 2 months ago to be held tonight at 9. Once we arrived, we were told there was going to be a wait of 45 minutes. An absolute joke. The organisation here was a disgrace tonight. That being said, myself and my partner came here a few weeks back and the food was phenomenal and the service excellent. Great experience. You pick your dish and sit around the chef while he cooks your food. Theres loads of little tricks done with the food while it's being cooled. Hang round till 11pm and the karaoke will come out! Great venue if there are a few of you celebrating. Bit pricey for the actual amount of food you get but worth the experience.

What a fantastic experience we had in Fujiyama. I visited with a group of about 15 and we were sat around the grills. The food was delicious and the chefs, who cook the food right in front of you on the hot plates were incredibly animated and provided an excellent evening of entertainment. The food was delicious but the atmosphere is definitely what made the evening. There were tables for smaller groups and couples, but if you are going to visit I would definitely recommend visiting as a group so you can experience this place for what it is!

Just been for lunch today, 20th October. It's been a while since I've been, which is shameful as it's simply fantastic. My wife and I had the Fujiyama lunch time special. Salad, spare rib and chicken Yakitori skewer, mmm lush. Then a couple of prawns and salmon. I'm not normally keen on salmon, but cooked like this, was lush! Onto the pork and chicken Tepanyaki, my wife had the chicken and beef - all amazing served with fried rice and fried bean sprouts. A warm welcome and great hospitality in a covid safe place. The chef was great fun and highly skilled too - relaxing watching your meal being freshly cooked in front of you. I will definitely be back by soon. We must support our restaurants in these challenging times. Thank you Fujiyama

Undeniably the finest Japanese cuisine you can enjoy in Newcastle-Upon Tyne with Hanahana coming in at a close second place. I wanted to eat here several times, trying different variations of their lunch and dinner sets, before offering a review as I was pleasantly surprised at how good both the food and the experience as a whole was after a single whimsical lunch there. I’m pleased to inform that Fujiyama simply does not miss. You’re going to see the freshest ingredients brought out in all their naked glory to be meticulously cooked by professional, trained chefs. You’re going to see eggs juggled, plumes of flames aloft and art made with rice whilst you eagerly await that sizzling cut of salmon to grace your plate. One might think that a buffet of delicious courses cooked by entertaining veteran chefs would be enough to take a hefty bite out of anyone’s wallet - but you would be wrong. I genuinely don’t know why they aren’t charging at least 1.5 times the price as the food and service is worth at least double in my humble opinion. Before I sign off, two last things to mention. 1. This would be a fantastic place to take someone on a first date. 2. Their salmon is godly. Try it.
