Best Curry in Tyne and Wear. hands down. We've had a takeaway from Jashn multiple times before, but last night was the first time we've ever eaten in the restaurant. Food was better than ever, atmosphere fantastic, and the service was top notch. We came to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary and we were treated like royalty. Went here for a birthday meal and it was beautiful. Ordered the same meal as a takeaway and the quality was nowhere near as good. The chicken shashlik was breast meat in the restaurant, but I don't believe that's what we got for our takeaway. If it was, it didn't taste very fresh.

Great chance last night to visit this good Indian Restaurant in a former pub. Staff were friendly, informative and helpful. Food was well prepared and presented. Prices seemed reasonable to me. We are from their fixed price banquets menu (Monday to Thursday). Full A La Carte is also available which I will try next time I visit.

Just a review on our order from last night Order time 5.40 expected arrival 7.05, meal arrived 8.20pm, 1hour and 15 minutes late, this is not acceptable, had we known we would have to wait that long I would have gone elsewhere. The meal however was delightful as we expected it would be, my only gripe the platter seemed very small compared to the amount you get when eating in, I had to give my husband a 1/3 of my meal to make up a full meal for him, the nann breads where gorgeous. Summary: Food Delicious, portion size of platter small, delivery atrocious. However we will be a returning customer, I just hope your delivery times improve. Thank you Deborah

Amazing food and service but our first and last ever food delivery was over two and a half hours late. We ordered around 5.45 and the food arrived at about 8.30 after 3 phone calls. When it arrived it wasn't our complete order and some dishes were cold? So we binned it and cooked our own meal. So many places do delivery perfectly. They never even apologised so have lost our custom. You have to understand we live about 400 meters and four streets away. Not lazy just trying to be Covid safe. As an eat in indian curry house this is 5 star (one of the best in the North East) but as a delivery service a 1 star. Hence the 3 star review. 5/5 Eat in = amazing food, pesentation, service and atmosphere. 4/5 Take away = great service, polite, good atmosphere, quick, food not as good as the eat in food quality. 1/5 Delivery = Complete failure in terms of service, poor presentation, excruciatingly slow delivery (over 2 and 1/2 hours and three phone calls) cold food, missing food. Disappointing. When we rang we were told to collect missing items in 40mins. Errr... It was the rice dishes, nann and one half of the biriani dish. Half the order was missing... It was a delivery service??? Delivery Recap: 2.5 hours, incomplete order, cold food, told to collect missing items, no apology, no refund, no edible meal. Lost custom.

Social distancing measures for Covid-19 are very well done and unobtrusive. If anything they made for a more intimate setting than normal.

First impressions are very impressive, nice greeting in amazing decor, really friendly and courteous staff and management, we ordered poppadoms, pickle tray, for starters we ordered chef khazana sharing platter for 2, lovely presented , fine dining and as for the taste it was out of this world, fresh ingredients, top quality and taste is sublime, for mains we ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken Madras, both meals outstanding, possibly the best we've ever tasted, totally recommend and can't wait to visit again

Ordered a rather large takeaway. When we got it home found out one of the bottom curries had collapsed and had burst all over the bag as it was all in one bag. Rang back and they delivered us another order to the door and threw a bottle of wine in for the wait/hassle. Perfect food as always and it’s great to know that their customer service is amazing too!

Been going for a number of times a year - the food always surprises as it seems to get better and better each time. Great ambience and very friendly staff who deliver a smooth dining experience. Have had a meal & ordered a takeaway with my partner from here before, we travel from Stanley to come here as it beats any other Indians we have had in our area. Faultless service and delicious food, highly recommend for both meat eaters and vegetarians as there was a large range to choose from and I did not feel restricted. Cannot fault :)

We found the menu very limited compared to most other Indian restaurants. I thought most of the dishes seemed to be chicken based. I try to avoid chicken when I don't know how it's been reared as I think welfare of the creatures is largely ignored in the interests of price. As a result and because of taste I like to go for a prawn based curry but there was very little choice in that department. The staff were pleasant but the service was lacking. We had to wait a long time to be served and to ask twice for a jug of water and twice for the bill. Altogether we were there for over three hours.

Well managed, friendly local restaurant. We originally ordered our usual favourite curries from here and were not too keen on them, but following a good chat with the owner I now understand that due to Jashn preparing food in a more healthy manner it can sometimes differ from the "old school" types of curry - so if you prefer a thicker sauce or anything particular about your curry just make sure to mention it and the chef will prepare it just as you like. Our next orders were spot on, thoroughly recommend this restaurant. They're also well organised around COVID and bring the meals out to your car if you collect.

One of my favourite Indian restaurants. The Onion bhajis are the lightest I have ever tasted and they are delicious. They have plenty of dishes on the menu to choose from I recommend the sharing platter as a starter for 3 or more people. If it's not on the menu they have no problem making whatever you like. I enjoy the vindaloo from here it's full of flavour and the heat comes from inside and not just a burning sensation in the mouth. They have draft beer and a takeaway service and It's reasonably priced too.

Two things keep this restaurant from having 5 stars one is the speed of the service, it was quite slow, so make sure you have plenty of time, the second one is the size of the portions, I found that they were a bit over generous, we could not finish all our mains.

This Indian restraurant is all about healthy Indian cuisine that in my opinion is one of the very best in the area (and I have visited some of the most "fancy"Indian restraurants around.) The food is always fresh and well presented The taste is genuine Indian food ,if you want fast food then you may be disappointed,it's made fresh and all the better for that. The team provide great service and can't do enough to help you . The service is friendly and attentive,we will not go any where else . A consistent 10 out of 10.
