Beautiful restaurant and lovely food. The food was amazing, I absolutely loved what I ordered (fajita stacks) and the presentation, for it to be make your own. Also the chicken is halal here. The staff were very friendly and the service was great as well as, the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. I have no complaints about this place and will most definitely come back here.

I have always wanted to try here for a while so i did via Just Eat! Arrived on time piping hot and superbly packaged! I went for the 5 tapas bundle meal deal wasnt sure what each thing was so i just ordered what sounded nice haha. My least favorite was the Brazilian Fried Chicken although it was juicy, tender and spicy the way i like it tbh it had no flavour, a bit boring tbh. The Brie and Mango Empanadas were nice, savory, tad sweet and cheesy mmm! Next was Albondigas to me was a really nice meatball dish, very homely and hearty flavour, really nice! My next fav was the Chicken Quesadilla, packed full of flavour.. chicken peppers and all sorts, the wrap it came in was soft and slightly charred.. very taaty indeed! My absolute favorite of all was the Fiesta Tapas.. what is that i hear you ask? Basically its a salad lol not just any salad tho this was stunning.. packed full of all sorts of flavours with watermellon and these little red pearls i have never seen before which are actually called Roquito Peppers which are sweet and spicy anyway im not normally a salad person but this i would highly recomend 👍😁👌

Had the bottomless brunch today and what an amazing day we had. It's well worth the money £29 pp. For starter and main and as much prosecco as we could drink, we had 3/4bottles and many cocktails. The added bonus was the service provided by the wonderful Lydia, nothing was too much effort. She was attentive and our glasses were never empty. Will definitely be returning and hopefully we get Lydia again !

We had a great time here celebrating a birthday. Service was good and food was excellent. Nachos to begin with followed by a beef burrito. For pudding was banana flavoured sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Hope to get back here again sooner...

Visited with my girlfriend for my birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was my first time here, and I can't wait to come back! We were hosted by Lucy, who was very pleasant and hospitable. Our initial choices for food weren't available (menu issues), but Lucy asked the kitchen just in case something could be done, and we managed to share a hearty portion of albondigas as a starter. We only had 2 courses, but by God were they filling! A few cocktails and a bottle of cachaça later, and our bill was just over £100. Can't fault the price, service and atmosphere

Had a birthday meal with a voucher here mid week relatively early, 5pm. Really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and we both had a great time. We had calamari and fried cheese cubes for starters, I had steak and my partner had a whole chicken. Yes a whole chicken to himself. The steak was perfectly cooked, for me - medium rare but the fat was rendered, the chicken was covered in a delicious sauce. It was the spiciest one on the menu, but it was not that spicy. The heat built over time but it was more like the spice of a aromatic curry. Either way, it was absolutely delicious and he ate the whole thing leaving a tiny collection of clean bones like the carrion bird that he is. It was also 2 for 1 on cocktails at that time so we ordered caipirinhas and of course they were delicious. We had a lovely evening, the staff were great, friendly and on top of things and helped make the experience feel non-pandemicy. Hand sanitiser was available in various places and I chose to still wear a mask as I moved around. Thanks for a great evening out. 😀

A bit disappointed. We ordered via the QR code on the table but we did not see anywhere to apply for the 25% student discount. The refried beans were not nice and my burrito wasn't very tasty. I won't be returning.

A mixed bag. Location over quality. On walking in I felt slightly unwelcome. No real welcome at the entrance just a curt request on whether we had booked a table and a rapid request to follow the person to a table. The person who served us was patient and helpful without being overly attentive. Our drink arrived. My friends liked their beers and was I surprised to get 2 cocktails for one which were good and strong. The food was not great. It's not the worst Mexican food I have had in the UK but overall it was not anything to write home about. The Burrito and the Enchilada were packed out with rice, something I've never seen in either of these dishes and I'm guessing saves money on a filling of beef. the sides of sour cream, guacamole and salsa were pokey and small in a single dish on the side. The rest of the plate was filled out with a leafy salad. Personally if you have a hankering for Mexican food I would say this is not the place.

My girlfriend and I went to Las Iguanas for dinner. We sat down at a table that was unattended without it being written somewhere. We had to wait half an hour before we were told to order at the bar. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks were excellent, but we have to wait for them for a very long time. For food, I ordered a Buenos Aires Burger with fries and my girlfriend had Chilli Con Carne. At first glance, I was disappointed with my food because the portion of fries was really sad. But the burger was excellent. The meat in that was really delicious and I enjoyed it. I would give 5 stars, but because of the portion of fries, I have to give 4. I just expected more for that price.

I had a Cuban salad and my daghter had a burrito in black bean sauce. Cocktails also. All very tasty. Waiting staff were very helpful and patient with us (we were taking ages to decide what to eat and the menu displays the calories on each dish which slowed us down a bit). Toilets are down some stairs so may be worth checking in advance if they have a more accessible one if you're disabled. I didn't see one but should've asked perhaps. All round good experience for us though.

The food was really good quality and the cocktails were superb. The quality of food and drinks were exactly worth what they were selling at. The service was a bit slow, we had to go to the bar to get more drinks, as the waitresses were too busy. But this wasn't a big issue as they had a large table in, so I understand. The food was worth the wait. Definitely try the tapas menu, because you can try different things then.

Had a well overdue cocktail & lunch Catch up with a friend. Absolutely love the 2-4-1 cocktails, sad that the dadinos have been taken off of the menu but tried the beef burger for the first time & thoroughly annoyed it. Staff were all so friendly, Abbie in particular checked back on us and made sure everything was alright and was always at hand when we wanted to order more drinks. Working in customer service I appreciate it when staff go out of their was for customers, and are see thoroughly enjoying their job! We will definitely be back to the Newcastle restaurant ion grey street and will be praying the dadinos are back on the menu!

Me and the missus go to Las Iguanas on a regular basis, not much arm bending is needed to persuade the other, and the two for one cocktails are very much the tipping point. This place easily gets 5 stars at both locations in Newcastle and we've had very positive experiences at both. The staff are always friendly and willing to help in any way and the food never takes too long even when busy.

This place gets very busy so I would recommend making a reservation especially on weekends. First impressions, nice restaurant looked very clean and modern. Our waiter was nice and friendly. The service was a bit slow when we went, but when you're sat downstairs there are less staff floating and on a busy weekend it is to be expected -1 🌟. I ordered chicken enchiladas, which where very good and delicious. I just happen to think the ones at Chiquitos are a little bit better. The rest of my party enjoyed their meals and we arrived before 6:30 so got the early bird menu. Do not get the chicken wings. Although tasty you only get 2 of them.. don't bother you're better off getting nachos as a starter. Churos where great as a dessert. All in all good South American restaurant.

Amazing authentic Mexican chain food restaurant. If you are lover of Mexican food this is the place to go. Staff are very friendly. Taste was superb. We ordered enchiladas , it was amazing and mouth watering. Coconut ice cream was super tasty and tacos were soft with all ingredients. Overall amazing taste and experience we had. I called Las Iguanas Newcastle Grey Street to buy a drink for her, but as they can’t take payment over the phone, a wonderfully kind member of staff Sarah offered to give my friend a complimentary drink on my behalf. I’m both amazed at the level of customer service offered (on what sounded a very very busy night in the restaurant) and grateful for this really kind gesture, expectations exceeded - it has really made my night. Went with my partner for the first time, so decided to go all out and order 5 tapas dishes, and a main to share. All the food was lovely and delived promptly. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Best pina colada I have had in a long time! Only reason it's not 5 star's is the spicy food could have been a lot spicier for our taste, and we'd prefer calamari rings to pieces, but it was still fab and we would definitely go back to try the rest.

Came on Wednesday for the 'bottomless Brunch' at midday, I'd recommend this time as it's alot quieter. Sat right next to the window with the sun beaming in & sipping on cocktails, felt like a nice holiday break. More cocktails at a lower price on this day was great, wasn't just stuck with prosecco. Nice addition to have a starter & a main, most offers just give you one to pick from. A lady came round & asked quite often if we needed more drinks, we didn't have to get up and ask. Great food, drink and service overall!

Because it is so popular it can get very busy, unfortunately the drinks area is quite small compared to dining area. My partner and I called into Las Iguanas on spec as our original booking at another restaurant was cancelled due to a power cut, they managed to find a table for us despite the fact is was very busy. We had a dedicated server, Angela, who was very pleasant and got our drinks and food with no fuss, we didn't have to wait long for our drinks and starter to arrive, I can say the Nachos were spot on and they had great deals on the cocktail menu too. I ordered the Chimichurri steak which was cooked to absolute perfection and tasted awesome, overall the food, service and atmosphere deserves a 10/10 rating and we look forward to our next visit.

The food at Las Iguanas is always fantastic, and theres is a wide range of options from various places in the world. With relatively good prices with decent portion sizes for the price as well as a good value for money lunch menu. There are also a few vegan options available and while never having had them myself I've been assured by friends and family that they also taste great. The two for one cocktail deal is also a highlight and I've enjoyed trying the various drinks they offer across multiple visits. Would strongly recommend a visit for lunch with friends, can get a little busy around these times but apart from that a fantastic place to eat!

Regular customers here. Always get great food and the margaritas are very good! Tables are a bit squashed together but that’s due to the size of the premises. Food is always excellent. Good children’s menu and the children always get pencils and activity sheets to keep them entertained.

We booked for my birthday it was quiet as it was Sunday evening. The waiter was great and I was offered a birthday drink which you make yourself using ice,rum, limes etc. We ordered from the special daytime menu ending at 6:30 I think. The prices on there are very reasonable compared to the main menu. Nachos for 2.50 instead of 5.40. Nice atmosphere too.

I've been quite a few times and have had the both tapas and beef nachos and they were lovely. I love the fact you can see the chefs cooking your meal through the serving hatch. There is a happy hour which actually runs in the afternoon and you buy one cocktail, get another free and they have quite a selection to choose from. Try the dark and stormy which is made from rum, fiery ginger beer, a wedge of lime and tons of ice. It's always been busy when I've been in which is a good sign but the downside is that you may not get a seat.

Went for a meal with 10 friends. We had the cocktail pitchers for drinks, which in my opinion are small and dont taste like real cocktails. It is easy to fall into getting these as they have a 241 offer. The food was ok but very overpriced. If I ever go back it will be to have some nachos and a beer. Been to Las Iguanas many times and really enjoyed it. This time however the food was left standing on the pass for almost 10 minutes. I said to my wife that I hoped it wasn't ours but it was and it was not hot or what I would have expected. It wasn't the waitresses fault as clearly she was rushed off her feet and I see no point in complaining to her about something she had no control over. The best way to complain if you feel it is necessary is to post a negative review as these are usually acted upon and improvements are made. It hasn't put me off going as it is usually pretty good so hopefully it was just a bad night, somebody might have gone sick and they were short staffed but if not Las Iguanas you are going to have to get your act together otherwise it will be Harry's Bar on our Theatre nights.

Came on a not so busy Tuesday night, service throughout our meal was very friendly and helpful re: my starter choice. The '2 courses for £14.95' was nice surprise, and the food that followed was tasty, although nothing was spectacular. Portion sizes were very generous, almost too generous, but the waitress did warn us they were big (and we foolishly ignored her thinking we could eat it all, so hardly their fault), but the starter plate of nachos were very large for a starter (but very tasty). The enchilada was okay and the fajitas had disproportionate ingredients, with very small tortillas compared to the mountain of meat/onion. All in all, though, very good. We had: Nachos Albondigas Chicken Enchilada Fajitas with Marinated Steak Strips Creamy Slaw Sweet Potato Fries And the Piña Coladas were beautiful!
