A.I love this place a lot. I've moved to Newcastle 2 years ago during the pandemic and I have to say, when I discovered Manjaros, I was over the moon.
I would order them frequently on Uber Eats (they may remember me for ordering peppered wings without flakes on them)
Today I went there to see the restaurant myself with my best friend. I adore the place so much, I could give everyone a hug there for giving me the most amazing, delicious comfort food ever.
My boyfriend who may become my husband someday will move here, and I guarantee Manjaros will be the first place we go to for our dates.
Thank you to the chefs and the lovely staff for providing such wonderful service and never letting me down. I rarely write reviews for places, but this needed to be said. I always show pictures of the food I get from here on Twitter, and I'd suggest to anyone and everyone to go here and give them lots of love. <3
R.Stopped by with a colleague late at night whilst away for work. Service was great, very friendly and helpful staff. Ordered the bolognese chicken parmesan which was so delicious and so filling. Portions are huge! I could only manage to eat half the fillet pictured and took the rest home. Prices were also decent, around £18/head for mains and a drink.

Our waitress Danielle really knows her job. Attentive while not overbearing, knowledgeable regarding the menu and oh so pretty.
My mate ordered a small paramo and I had the full chicken. Portion size were on the large side. The food was amazing, full of flavour and really moist.

The only disappointment was not having the Calypso drinks available, the hummus was no longer on the menu and they offer no hot drinks/desserts.

It's not to crowded either which I really liked. Staff don't bother you which I also like, they simply show you to your table, take your drink order, your food order, deliver it to your table and leave you to it 👍

A charming young man named Ethan made our night even more special with how polite and articulate he was in regards to taking our order and was incredibly understanding with regards to certain things we couldn’t have in the meal! The only thing that stopped us from giving it a 5 star was the fact the other waitresses thought it was acceptable to take plates away whilst others were still eating.

Overall a positive experience, the staff were very nice and helpful, service was good, place was Covid safe and very clean. No mask, no entry policy.
Food was ok, burgers were average, wings drowned in sauce, not really worth the current prices. Average £20pp.
Would have given 4 stars, but any place that doesn't serve tap water isn't deserving of it.

Even brought two full parmos back to yorkshire for my sons. I showed the waitress the order on a text message and still when I got back home the order was not as requested. Of course we were very much suprised by the warmth of the stuff compared to other venues and i would definitely visit again. There was another server which i dont remember her name, blonde and a black girl who were equally exceptional in terms of service.

C.Hi I’m not here to give a bad judgement of Manjaros but I would like to say something so the owner is a bit aware the issue - as being the boss you shouldn’t be so miserable you should always say hi to your customers and make your customers feel so welcome if customers are coming in with large families spending a lot of money with you guys you should have at least have the decency to say hello how are you how’s the food going you need to build a good Relationship with your customers you’re so so moody you’re always looking angry all the time
You make your customers feel so uncomfortable walk past them never got a smile on your face if this isn’t your trade to be in you should be somewhere else where you don’t get to meet customers
The staff that work for you are really really nice staff they make their customers feel comfortable they ask if they need anything it’s perfect the way they are but you being a boss ur just looking unhappy and I feel as this should be addressed to you
Also I would like to say in Ramadan people go to your place to open up their fast you charge over £2 for a bottle of water which is absolutely fine nobody is asking for free food or free drinks but in the month of Ramadan at least have the decency to place a free of charge jug of water for customers to drink you should go the extra mile for your customers especially in Ramadan. No harm in giving a jug off tap water
I’ve been to plenty of restaurants in Ramadan and I’ve been made feel so welcome leaving your restaurant made me realise how low you are I understand in crona everybody was struggling and are struggling even businesses I totally understand giving a free jug of water from your tap wouldn’t of cost you any extra money mate!!!

K.There was 2 main issues in this restaurant today which I wasn’t happy about one was we came to have lunch me & my friends there was 5 of us we were waiting for one of my friend to arrive but we weren't allowed to be seated on a table, most of the tables were empty, with only 2 small tables being used. 🙄 The other issue is we asked for tap water, they said they didn’t have any and so had to buy water which I thought was very cheap & stingy, as most, if not all restaurants provide tap water. I have been to this restaurant many times before but now it’s all changed and not in a good way 😩

S. A.The starters were great and tasty and very generous in size. The mains were hit and miss. The cajun wrap was tasty, with a generous mix of chicken and everything else. The mix grill was disappointing. The sauce was overpowering and the meat was over cooked and tough.
A.The half size Parma is definitely plenty for a non competative eater. I had the mushroom topped version, and it was just too much cheese. Quiet around 6.30pm, but a pleasant buzz of diners and low level music. Good value but not a place for a date night.
Make sure your table is not next to the staff toilet, it's hard to ignore.

M. S.It is a nice family place with decent food. The service is good, but I did not feel especially welcome. The lack of tap water (even though legally OK) leaves a negative feeling. They serve hot sauces after all so a sip of water could be helpful. We did order drinks, but you feel forced to do so and they are pricy. We would still order drinks, but water for the table seems to be a standard everywhere now, especially where hot food is served.

We ordered toasted Nachos, carribean king prawn and the rasta pasta. All the food was served in a surprisingly short amount of time and was tasty. The staff is friendly and took care of some custom needs as well. The mango lassi was authentic and the best one I've tasted in Newcastle so far, as opposed to the watery kinds served in some other places. The meal was paid for with a card, so I guess now the cash only limitation is no more. The portions are huge and makes the whole place value for money. The ambience is interesting with classy furniture and tastefully chosen décor. Well recommended!
