Today was our first visit, and we loved it. We got the Assorted Meat sharing platter B, and the Bap with seafood and egg. Both dishes were delicious! Would recommend adding an extra egg on the Bap dish. We had the kitchen staff cook our meal, but you have the option to cook your own me at the table! The staff were lovely, the atmosphere was nice, pleasant music. Would recommend 100%, and we'll definitely be back again!

The taste was great with food hot and fairly fast. The only thing that brought it down was the layout of the place seemed a little cramped and could do with a redesign. The guys behind us had the barbecue option and with the vent on their table broken we ended up being covered in a cloud of smoke by the end of it as there was not adequate ventilation. Overall a positive experience and they offer student discount of 10% if you pay in cash which is always a bonus.

Seafood pancake didn't have seafood, quite slim and no value for the price. The naengmyen, cold noodle dish was tasty but the noodles difficult to chew basically I just swallow all and only with 1 small beef cube . The meeyuk guk, seaweed soup was okay , average flavour . Caution : Too much smoke in the environment , smells sticky all over clothes and hair .

We were food-hunting in Chinatown only to stumble upon this Korean BBQ Restaurant. Our very first Korean meal in the UK! Our experience there was most enjoyable. We haven't had Korean food since we stepped in the UK, and it was a welcome delight for our tongues. -Kim Chi Stew with Cheese -Kim Chi Pancake -Kim Chi as a side Ahh.. Having Kim Chi after what seemed to be an eternity was divine. It was truly an enjoyable meal. We'll try the barbecue next time!

I arrived around 8pm and was given a table quite quickly, within 5-10 minutes I'd say. The menu was extensive enough for us and we ordered a couple of items, which was served promptly. I can see there are quite a number of tables and only 3 staff but their service were efficient. I would come back again.

Really delicious food and great service. We had the pickled radish salad, Korean potato salad, fried veggie dumplings, deep-fried battered chicken with sweet & chilli sauce, and a meat platter for the Korean barbecue. Everything tasted great, and the entire meal (with drinks) was less than £30 each. We'll definitely be coming back!

Love the Korean BBQ, meats and vegetables are very tasty. Pricy but worth it for the experience. Dine there quite often. There is a car park right in front of the restaurant but you have to pay and there are hardly any spaces so it’s easier to walk or park somewhere else. Be aware of Google maps taking you to the wrong side of parking on the gate side as there’s only a small footpath to walk through to the restaurant.

After a single visit, this is my favourite restaurant in Newcastle. The staff are absolutely lovely and so welcoming! The food is so so good. We shared the Octopus Hotpot and the portion size was fantastic, there was realistically enough for four people, and it tasted sublime. We nearly didn't manage the desert, but the pancakes look too beautiful to skip, and my god they were. Everything was absolutely perfect. This restaurant is superb! 👌🏻

Nice food, reasonably priced. I got an eel hot stone rice bowl (?) which, looked quite different to what my brother got (with pork) even though it was listed under the same dish. It had eel and an egg cut up. And it also lacked the egg yolk which this dish usually comes with. I asked the waitress and she came back with a yolk on a plate and plopped it on my dish 😂 My dish had no vegetables in it but this dish usually did. Other than that it was a nice experience, I liked the Korean rice cake a lot. They said they could make it less spicy for me which made me a nicer experience.

What a wonderful experience! The staff are pleasant and accommodating, ready to make recommendations from the get-go (and not just the most expensive thing on the menu like many places would). The food was stellar, and for the low, low price of £1 CHEAPER, you can cook your own food at the table for a delightfully engaging and intimate dining experience! I'll most certainly be coming back. This is some of the best food I've eaten for a long time :)

Came here with my parents for my birthday last weekend. Had no idea what to expect and had a really good time the meat was beautifully marinated so it was impossible to mess up when cooking it yourself. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great. The only side notes I'd say is, it is a bit smokey in there which takes some getting used to and can linger in the back of your nose and throat for a few hours.

We enjoyed the fact that you get a grill too cook your food yourself and it was funny watching my friend fail to use the chopsticks and use his spoon instead. Warm and cozy atmosphere, considering you're here in the NorthEast, it makes you remind of places near the equator. helpful and accommodating staff, & best of all, perhaps the best Korean Restaurant I've had, yet. Truth be told, they're a little bit better in taste and ambiance than the ones I've been in the Philippines. It is a little bit pricey, but worth it.

Everything we ordered was amazing. I'm a picky eater but I loved everything we ordered. They have a huge selection of specialist alcoholic beverages. I also ordered kimchi stew and bulgogi but I didn't get pics! Definitely worth a visit if you like Korean food.

Came back again and had the lunch special. Very nice and great price. While they were happy to accommodate us before opening I thought the food was little too chilled from the fridge(Thats good). As the food was cooking in the bowl it took little longer than last time. Next time might go later during lunch or option (little hot beef stock for customer to add). I had the beef and unsure why the other options like chicken and port come marinated? But not the beef. Overall if you haven't tried it is very nice. Next time I hope to try another dish.

Authentic food, friendly staff who are eager to explain some of the more unusual things on the menu, and nice atmosphere. It's not absolute budget prices, but pretty reasonable - you can actually save a few quid, and have more fun, by cooking some of the dishes yourself on a grill on the table. Highly recommended, there is nothing else quite like it in Newcastle!

Me and my friends came here for Restaurant Week with a reservation. The menu had a variety of things on it and two of us got starters, sides and a main for £15 including a soft drink, and the other opted for a side and main for £10. We came around 15 minutes early, but we still managed to get a seat (in an almost full restaurant) almost straight away which was great. Firstly, the starters are quite large! I was expecting a few chicken pieces, but we got a long plateful. Secondly, the mains had a lot of food for the price that we could barely finish them. Well worth the price. The staff seemed a bit quiet, but I can't fault their service as they did check who ordered what as we weren't familiar with the food and forgot out orders! All in all reccomended. I have been outside of Restaurant Week, and while the dishes are more expensive, there's even more choice and the portions are more than enough to get at least a main.

But a lot more spacious. The food is good (I recommend you always get the seafood pancake) and the drinks are typical of what you'd find in Korea. We visited last night for the restaurant week menu and enjoyed it. We parked the car right outside the front door in Friars Car park which was very convenient. The restaurant can be a little hard to find but its close to Blackfriar's restaurant. The portions were a really great size and i ended up taking some of mine home. The staff were mega friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu however it was busy and our second drinks order didn't arrive and after a long wait we asked for it again. It is possible to cook your meat at the table if you want to which could be exciting ( we didn't do) but the extractor really blocked the view of people sitting opposite making it awkward to talk to each other. Having said that I would visit again

Took my daughter as a birthday treat. We had the meat sharing platter as a self cook bbq. We also ordered a side of tteokbokki out of curiosity and extra rice. It all arrived fast. The amount of beef and chicken is generous and would probably do 3 people. The dumplings and cold side were nice. The tteokbokki was delicious. I had a glass of wine and tap water. We had enough left over to take as a doggy bag which fed a very hungry man! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic unique experience, and yes they do Korean BBQ! Work on your chopstick skills as if you get a BBQ, your sticks will get covered in grease and sauces, making gripping basic food items difficult. The staff were welcoming and pleasent and the food fare was as authentic as ever. The only problem with this joint was that the waiters brought the wrong food to our table 3 times, yes they were side dishes and they were for the table next to us, but me and a friend had our meal disrupted unecessarily. They serve sake here.

The Kkanpunggi was marvellous, and the Kimchi was fairly mediocre - it didn't taste as though it had been fermented for any duration. I note their beer was bought from H-Mart, who also sell some pretty alright Kimchi!
