Excellent food and service. This was our first time in Newcastle together and our first time at this restaurant which we spotted on our work to the river. We opted for Set Menu A which was plenty for two adults and a child and the staff were more than happy to accolade our request to change a couple of the dishes to other meats. Only tried the Rhubard gin which was refreshing.

The restaurant has some really delicious food, with a wide selection to choose from and great service from staff. Tje service from the staff was fast, efficient and top notch. Came across this restaurant by chance. Building looked good from outside. Inside was very lovely. Great standard of decor. The staff were EXCELLENT. Food choices were amazing. We had a brilliant meal in great surroundings. Even the occasiona l train passing over the bridge above added to the great experience. Popped into central Newcastle on a sunny Sunday evening - had chosen to eat at this place based on reviews previously left. What a good choice that turned out to be! Visiting Gateshead on business and came across this gem of a 🇹🇭 restaurant. Busy on a Tuesday so knew it would be good and despite it being busy I had a table within minutes. Friendly service from start to finish. I've been to Thailand on many occasions so I can say with confidence that if you're looking for authentic Thai cuisine... Look no further than Mantra Thai you won't be disappointed. Excellent value for money.

This place has fallen from grace. What used to be a regular haunt for a decent meal for Thai foods has now become a no go and we won’t be back. Bland unseasoned food. Fried foods cooked in smelly oil and leaving grease on the plate. Chewy steak with grizzle. Sad really as it was a staple in Newcastle.

One of the best Thai restaurants in newcastle.. the food was amazing and delicious it was a little bit spicy for those who are not a fan of spicy food, but for me it was amazing. I love the decoration it is fancy with a Thai atmosphere.. The staff were super friendly and helpful i asked for a gluten free dish which wasn't in the gluten-free menu and they cooperated to make it for us. good food with a good price. my only comment was that the chicken had a little smell flavor 😣 but other than that it was amazing. We ordered chili chicken with sweet basil and grilled sea bass

Decent quality food and portion sizes. On the menu they mention they can adjust meals to customer taste to some degree. However when I asked for a spicier than normal pad thai they brought out a set of small containers with condiments, including a pot with some red chili powder. I would have preferred that the pad thai itself was prepared eith5 some extra chillies or something to infuse the spice within the whole dish really. Also was a bit pricy

The location wasnt too far from the centre and did have a car park. On a side note, cant remember the last time i was impressed by a restaurants toilets! Just wow. 4 of us went for dinner and had a really excellent meal. Mine was chicken with cashews and it was in a basket made of potato and sweet potato We all enjoyed our choices. The food tasted amazing. It was my first time trying Thai food but it won't be my last. The staff were really lovely and very attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The only small thing i would ask for is more vegetarian meals without tofu on the menu, as i am soya intolerant. The only other meals i saw would have been too spicy for me. But this is only a request and i did enjoy what i chose very much. I eat chicken if I need to once in a long time. But i would rather eat vegetarian Thank you so much for excellent meals that we all enjoyed and a lovely night out. I enjoyed my soda water and lime! 🤗😘🤗

Fantastic Thai food. The early evening menu between 5- 7pm is £16.50 two courses & extremely good value. This place was on TripAdvisor top places in Newcastle so thought we'd check it out. It's a bit tricky to find as hidden on the wrong side of the station but it's worth looking. For. I wanted the Thai green curry but with chicken instead of salmon and it was no problem. Tasty ingredients, fresh and warm. They also have Chang beer and Prosecco for £22 so well worth it. The service was sublime with friendly, helpful and efficient staff bearing in mind it's very busy and popular.

Amazing Thai food. We have been a few times. Staff always very friendly and helpful. If it's your birthday they even sing to you! Small on site free car park which is a big bonus. Real treat! Would recommend masaman curry, chicken in cashew nuts (which comes in a potato basket) and pad Thai.

Had a group of 7, the entire table was given the wrong order. The food arrived at the table lukewarm and in some instances with the starters cold to the touch. The positives of this experience was that the staff did provide one additional dish to the table for the mixup and the food was flavourful.

We visited here after many many recommendations from several different people. I personally enjoyed every single mouthful. My husband was disappointed. I think he chose the wrong dishes, in my opinion anyway, because I loved my choices. The staff are very very attentive & very courteous. It was a very pleasant spacious restaurant, no cramming tables together, which is a real pet hate of mine. We are going to try this place again, & hopefully my husband will choose dishes more to his taste. I’ve given 4 star as the seating area is upstairs, which I sometimes having difficulty using if I’m having a bad mobility day.

Absolutely love this place! Having travelled round Thailand twice I am a bit picky about where I will eat Thai food. The food here is absolutely top notch, the service is always incredible too, they always make a real fuss of the kids too, they say it’s their favourite place to eat too. Beautiful restaurant and exceptionally clean loos (which to me is a sign that the kitchen is probably that way). I can’t rate Mantra Thai enough. Great place for families, couples and business lunches alike. Love it.

Food quality was high and the venue, atmosphere excellent. This would have star 5 if it had not been for an appalling piece of service. We experienced a rude and seemingly angry young lady waitress (I didn’t catch name), she was impolite and had bad energy, at end of meal she started clearing table and stood over me until I finished my meal. I have never had this before, ever. I confronted the demotivated lady but to no avail, her supervisor was keen to sort the situation when I flagged but I was so angry I left the restaurant before it was sorted. The rest of the staff seemed fine in all fairness, but it might be worth ensuring that angry staff are not put in front on customers in future.

Great Thai restaurant located at the end of the Quayside. The restaurant has a car park but not sure where you would park if there were no spaces. Staff welcomed us in Thai and took us to our table. The downstairs part of the restaurant has bamboo on the walls and looks great. Our table was upstairs but there seemed to be a large seating area downstairs too. Food was great and was served hot without much waiting. We had a shared starter and then got a curry, have to pay extra for rice or noodles. Decor looked great to me, food was Fab, staff were very polite, we had a great evening.

Only let down was when we left our coats weren't given back to us.. we were waiting downstairs for 5-10 minutes and eventually I went to the kitchen area and get the manager to hand our coats back to us.

We visited Mantra for the first time last night, the restaurant is very impressive from the outside with its own parking lot. The inside is very modern and spacious. The staff are very freindly and attentive, we chose the "set meal B" off the menu. The food was well presented and very nice, the waitress serving us was from Thailand and very freindly with a nice smile. A very good night out.

Food was fantastic...the lamb massaman was absolutely gorgeous...and my partner asked for his pad kaprow gai "Thai spicy"...they asked him if he was sure he wanted it that hot, and then did exactly that! The surroundings and staff couldn't have been better. Only minor criticism is the lack of time between courses, but that could be easily remedied by asking for a 'break'. Not the cheapest of prices, but worth every penny; food and wine were just lovely!

We booked a table for our anniversary before going to see Slayer at the arena. There is parking at the resturant and also a multi storey just up the bank. The staff are very welcoming and polite. We ordered 3 starters which we shared. Duck spring rolls, chicken satay and vegetable tempura. The food tasted amazing and well presented. I ordered lamb masuman curry with sticky rice and my partner, chilli chicken in a potato basket. This again was so flavoursome and well presented. The tastes took me back to Thailand. We will absolutely be visiting again. The only negative point was an Italian gent (I'm presuming the owner) being a little overbearing. I turned to find him looking over my shoulder which gave me a start. If this is the owner your staff are doing a great job. The other point would be the music. Why not play traditional Thai music? Quite often if we go out for say an Italian or Indian meal they will be playing music from their country. I think it will add to the ambience of your lovely resturant.
