Absolutely lush, best breakfast I've had for ages. Lovely staff and a mean coffee. Definitely adding to our regulars
d.
Honestly, this place is brilliant. The burgers are second to none - best one was with pastrami and American mustard, very tasty. Really laid back, relaxing atmosphere and the service is fab. Great kids menu too.
Going to make this my regular weekend haunt, the breakfasts are knock-out as well.
B. H.
A lovely and wonderful little find. A cafe with a theme and ambience based around the world of road cycling.
Staff are friendly and it seems there is a reputation amongst regulars and locals.
The menu is simple but expressive and the food was very good.
My new breakfast spot has been found

I should come here more often, fabulous staff, fantastic food and a great atmosphere. I had a sausage and egg bun yesterday and it came with two perfectly cooked eggs. Never seen that before. My sister is a regular and we've been planning to come when they have live music on, we haven't managed to do that yet, but we will. Can't rate this place highly enough!
I. M.
Been here a few times with the dog, great food and lovely staff. Does not disappoint.
J. G.
I love this place! If you want lovely staff, great tunes, fabulous ham and cheese toasties delicious cake, an ice cold glass of wine, comfy sofas in a dog friendly atmosphere, then this place is for you. Oh and they welcome cyclists too!!🚴♂️🚴♀️
M. H.
Great cafe! Breakfast was delicious, and the service both efficient and friendly. Good portions and tasty home-cooked food. Would massively recommend the eggy bread. 😀
J. C.
Visited from Coventry and had a lovely coffee and bacon batch (roll?) with hash browns. Staff were friendly and helpful and food was just what I wanted. Will be back.

A hidden little Gem. Delicious food & great coffee. Good beer too, all served by friendly staff. FAB 😁
M. B.
Amazing cycling cafe. Great food, good coffee and beer in a relaxed cycle focused atmosphere. Small about of seating outside.
A. D.
Popped in for breakfast and was definitely glad we did.
Was able to sit quickly despite it being busy as the staff were very attentive and ensured all was cleaned.
Lots of options for breakfast as well as food for the rest of the day.
Loved the decor and friendly staff. Will be planning to return to try their burgers next as they looked great!
M. D.
Nice atmosphere and great selection of food and drink. Friendly staff, food was delicious and we'll definitely be back.

I was driving past and spotted this so popped
In for a coffee . I had a great flat white . I didn’t choose anything to eat but the fresh sandwiches looked inviting ! Lovely friendly barista too :)

First time visiting Pedalling Square today, great chilled atmosphere with friendly staff. Coffee excellent and the Brooklyn toast was ace. Next time I'm cycling here.
D. N.
Quirky, fantastic place for good wholesome food. Friendly service. Inexpensive. Totally bike oriented and spellbinding.
Downside....just a little bit chilly. You have to visit, if only once in your life, seriously.
J. B.
Fantastic spot to stop for lunch. The Obree burger I had was fabulous. Only one thing to hear inind and one suggestion, neither of which interfered with my experience in the slightest:
The thing to bear in mind is that if you arrive by car, parking is ... limited.
The suggestion is that, although I asked for, and received, no large slice of tomato in my burger, there were three halves of cherry tomatoes in the salady bit at the bottom. I know it's a pain to remove them, but, if it's a tomato free burger then it'd be very much appreciated!
J. R.
Such a hidden gem. Really quirky and cool with a chilled vibe. One of the nicest cappuccinos I've had and the food was lovely too. Definitely one to visit and I can't wait to go back!
J. T.
Nice place. Food menu looks good didn't eat just had coffee. Definitely worth a visit
K. B.
Eclectic cycling themed cafe with great atmosphere. Really nice staff, really good coffee and really good breakfast too. Cycle repair shop within the cafe. Artisan bakery next door. Well worth a visit.
J. D.
Visiting the area and glad to have found PedallingSquares. Great setup and deco, the staff really friendly and helpful. Quality espresso and can't fault the food I chose from the tempting menu. If I am passing through again then a return is top of my list!
D. E.
Cycling themed cafe. Lovely cup of coffee. Good choice of snacks. Pleasant staff and good service. Took some friends for their first visit as they are keen cyclists. They loved it
A. P.
Wonderful quirky cafe with great tasty food. Dog friendly and they practice covid precautions.

I’ve been a regular since the early days, never have I ever had cause to be even slightly unhappy with anything! I studied most of my degree here, I’ve hidden from bad times, and also had some of the best times here. Me and hubs had our first dates here and continue to do so, just with less smooching 🤣. Hats off to Ade and all the family and staff for bringing this delightful place to my doorstep! Amazing coffee, amazing food, amazing place. 🐾☕️🍔❤️
C. H.
The best full english in the North East! Quality ingredients cooked perfectly, washed down with a big mug of tea. Lovely, quirky surroundings (even if your not a cyclist) & friendly service. Wish I could have managed a slice of cake - it looked lush 😍
R. T.
I have visited Pedalling Squares a handful of times now and it's now a go to!
We have gone for breakfast on all occasions, and my boyfriend and I have told everyone about how amazing the breakfast food is! It's become our favorite spot! The staff are all so lovely and helpful, and the whole vibe of the cafe is great. I'd recommend to anyone 😊
S. M.
Unique menu, generous portions, great food, lovely staff. Their choice of background music creates a really relaxing atmosphere.
P. L.
Fantastic little cafe, I'd say it's a hidden gem but is generally busy, so not that hidden.
d. b.
Excellent lunch time visit good value and lots of tasty food. Many thanks
I. S.
A fabulously quirky venue offering amazing food with excellent staff and a great atmosphere. What a little gem
M. L.
Really cool place! Relaxing, great music, comfy sofas, dog friendly, barista stout, lovely and great value food.staff couldn't be more chilled or friendly.will definitely go back very soon!💖
K. T.
Biscoff donut was incredible! Biscoff pancakes were very good. Veggie breakfast was decent, but the malteaser cake was very dry, and coffee was average.
Unique cycling themed interior, cosy and relaxed place good for brunch.
J. C.
Lovely place, great food menu, nice coffee, friendly staff.
Family run, many of whom I now call friends.
Good variety of street food get togethers such as Parmos, Pizzas and Gyros to name a few, keep an eye on social media for what's next.
The bottleshop is always well stocked with something for everyone, some pretty niche, difficult to get hold of stuff too.
A sanctuary for weather weary cyclists and dog walkers, although everyone and anyone will be made welcome. I've often taken advantage of the welcoming atmosphere to just spend a little 'me time' with a coffee and a piece of cake.
For the cycling orientated visitors there's plenty to keep you interested, with memorabilia dotted about, magazines and books available. A modest kit shop with some custom/unique pieces available, as well as the now famous Pedalling Squares cycling kit.
Let's not forget the Brassworks Bicycle Co, a bike shop and workshop with a retro/vintage bias but the mechanics are well versed in everything that comes through the door. They've supplied numerous components/spares, offered expert advice and carried out in-depth servicing for myself and a number of my friends.
In summary, well worth a visit and I'd recommend it to anyone.
s. t.
Great place good food very reasonable

Always great food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Full English Breakfast is one of the best around here - as is the massive eggy bread!
J. C.
Great coffee and a great sausage bap my husband said. Very relaxed. We'll be back.
g. h.

A. B.
MAMILs and yummy mummies, if you're one of those or don't mind those then the food here is good and there's a nice atmosphere.
B. S.
Excellent food and quite a unique place , no complaints… and great staff
J. J.
Full breakfast 8.50
A great breakfast, quality ingredients served hot with granary fried bread . Plenty to satisfy my appetite too.
Good quality sausages and bacon. For better value , to improve the owner may like to consider putting maybe 3 or 4 mushrooms on as standard and not as an extra. Just a thought.
N. B.
Lovely place, good food, burgers look nice. Had eggy, well worth a visit, Biscoff milkshake was excellent
G. E.
Best sticky toffee pudding in the world.also had the monster size wayay man burger which was really good.lots of cycling apparel too if you like cycling and a beer shop next door.
m. h.
Great place, has a bike shop, coffee shop, food, bar.. food was lovely... then a fantastic shop connected to it with fresh bread and plenty of craft beers.. DEYA, Vault City etc.
Highly recommended and I will be returning!
V. B.
The staff are friendly and helpful you can get a nice selection of food and drinks here. They also fix your bicycle for you and any other problems you may have with your bicycle.
D. C.
Friendly cycling bar/cafe/restaurant with great staff and a fantastic selection on beers. Always has GCN on the TV so winner winner.
M. S.
Nice atmosphere and nice food. Good coffee.
K. M.
Great place/ community feel any time of day or night. Great food choice, coffees and alcoholic beverages of an evening. Unfortunately last time I had a full English there the fried eggs were cooked solid which I was very disappointed about so they lose a star.
C. M.
Very aesethically pleasing with a unique cycling theme to the cafe. Food was very nice as well
N.
Quirky and fun. Ideal if you like cycling. The guy in the cycle shop that is attached to the cafe was lovely and patient with my old dad 89, a former cyclist who enjoys reliving his past. And we enjoyed the food.
G. H.
Lovely morning with my Son. Good menu with plenty of choice for all. Friendly helpful staff. Dog friendly.
S. B.
I really like the venue, the food is always nice and reasonably priced. But the service ...arghh every time. The girls have no clue what's going on. Food goes to wrong tables, they don't know who ordered what. Twice now I've had to get up and get cutlery. Asked for an americano to be greeted with a blank look. I think the girls are young and still learning but the basics are just really lacking. I attended a comedy show a few weeks back and they couldn't deal with the volume of people and were getting confused as to who was doing what! I will return but I'm just hoping the service has improved 😃
D. P.
Pedalling Squares has a great honest feel to it. The cafe is filled with cycling regalia and upcycled products. The coffee is excellent and very reasonably priced at £2.20 for anything other than an espresso or just £2.00 for an espresso.
The cafe serves a great selection of food and light bites making it just as good to head out for lunch or the end of your Sunday ride. A fantastic cafe for non cyclists and cyclists alike.
J.
Good place we sat outside and the staff came out to take our food order, nice bacon and egg sarnie.
B. B.
Welcoming staff, dog friendly cycle cafe. Has a good range of burgers, paninis etc... reasonably priced. Quirky interior with some vintage and interesting decorations. Located in a handy spot near the Derwent Walk route. Well worth a go. Relaxed atmosphere.
R.

P.
Friendly, comfortable, great pancakes with all the trimmings and the burgers are a monster treat! Throw in decent conversation and excellent coffee and there's not much more a man needs!

What a little gem this place is... was mentioned in conversation out on our bike ride...thought I would give it a try, and that was two years ago. Can’t keep away, got to try the pizza’s, oh and the cakes are fabulous,
just a quick coffee and cake stop today and never disappointed...
C. T.
Great place for a bite to eat while charging our electric car at nearby Lidl. Highly recommend the Greg Lemond toasties (pastrami and pickle). Great beer too.
C. W.
I had my cycle repaired at the repair side, had it longer than stated. Used a bent nail to keep my break pads in.
My first ride chain still jumping, the reason I had it serviced. Not happy I ended up adjusting the gears myself £50.00 for the service???
m. t.
