Loved it! Had the fried pickles (traditional in the south US) smash fries and jalapeño Baja burger. Lovely and fresh tasting, fast service and exceptionally friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and will return here!

The one time I went I absolutely loved the classic chicken burger. Didn't expect it to be whole bread (even though it said so) which took me by surprise but I really liked it. The fact that I could put the sauce on the burger myself was also good. I honestly expected to have a cheat meal but I left with a healthy satisfying feeling. Now the reason it's only 4 stars is because it's not a perfect place. The service is friendly but not fantastic. Plus I have only been once.

Surprised by the quality of the food, far better than most, and its a proper American style burger restaurant, proper chicken and burger meat, and to my utter delight, no coffee, tea or hot drinks sold, the quality of the vegetables used are 5 star, fresh, crisp vegetables, the sauses are full or taste, unlike the typical British sauses such as the j.d, watered down version found in the usual bro food restaurants, it is expensive, but the quality and service, and the clean tables, floors etc will reflect that, worthy of a visit

Chicken burger with mushroom, truffle sauce and Swiss cheese is one of the tastiest I've had in a long time. Lovely juicy chicken too. The Oreo milkshake is reasonably thick and made with real ice cream. We weren't quite sure that it was big enough to share, but the glasses can be misleading, and there was some extra in the shaker.. Not a cheap meal - mainly because of the two milkshakes (and the cost of parking in Newcastle) - but tasty enough to say we'll be back.

At this present time this is the BEST tasting Beef and Crispy Chicken Burgers (Full of Flavor), quality and value (less than £10 on the meal deal too compared with the prices and flavor from other restaurants in Newcastle city centre who charge a higher price around £12- £15 and without a free drink refill). The Crispy Chicken Burger is the juiciest tasting flavor I ever had. Compared to Nando's Chicken Burger price and quality. My only negatives (loss of a Star) are the cramped sitting area at the very front of the restaurant especially when full, and the pointless waiting to be seated and then you have to get up and order at the till. Please introduce staff members to take orders at the table? Also there was 2 occasions I was disappointed when the Crispy Chicken was off the menu. Unable to write another review but as from 21/09/2017 the new Triple double is amazing tasting burger at £6.95, check out the three pictures.

Fantastic burger, nice fries (get a large however as small is a normal persons small). Milkshakes lovely. If your an EV driver it is the right walking distance for a Full charge at the Fastned Charging Station. Plug in Pop over to smash, eat in and when you get back you'll have a full car again. I had a round trip of 45mins so spot on. £13.01 for the charging. £16.75 for the burger and fries. Cheaper than going to a busy services that you'll queue to get in and out.

Excellent food, make sure you ask when ordering what comes with sides and drinks as to avoid double ordering food and drinks. The Oreo milkshake is bloody unreal and the choices of drinks from the machine is great. Recommend.

Try the burgers here. They are unbelievably good, and you will always get messy, sauce-covered hands. Their burgers and hands-down the best Ive had anywhere. Their potato fries, the smash fries, are also extremely crunchy and tasty. Theyve not paid me for this, Im just a guy who wanted a burger and accidentally found the best. Give it a shot.

Overall food was of an excellent quality and presentation at an affordable and reasonable price. The burger I ordered came hot and the salad on it was nice and cold. Specific changes I wanted to my meal was made with no issues thanks to friendly staff. Vegetarian options as well as allergy or dietary restriction options were available also. Restaurant was presented clean and trendy and no discernable negative gives me reason to give anything less than a 5* rating. Would recommend visiting for a meal.

Smashburger is the best of the burger chains in my opinion. I prefer it to its peer upmarket burger restaurants, that are currently in town. It does make the patty taste better and fall apart in the mouth adding greatly to the taste and texture. Costs are typical in the 10-15 range for this experience.

I was expecting more from the reviews. I was hoping for a pub environment but instead it was an upmarket McDonalds. Staff was polite and restaurant was clean but there was barely atmosphere. We placed our order and within 2 minutes the food was served. Drinks are free refills and the automated machine must have had at least 40 different flavours to choose from, I didnt even know that so many existed. Burger was nice and juice but French fries were very oily and the onion stack was more like a plate of extremely thin onions. For an XL burger, fries, drink and onions to share I paid £18.50, not cheap for a posh McDonalds meal!!

We called in her for a quick snack while visiting newcastle, the service was excellent by all the staff from start to finish, the food was beautifull with plenty of choice if your into burgers, you can even have different styles of chips, fries or skin on fries I assume, we had the standard fries which were excellent, the only down side to this place was the price, it's on the expensive side but we did take advantage of the "kids eat free offer" that is on monday - Friday. All in all a great place to eat.

Staff are always friendly, and the scottish lady who i always forget to get her name, deserves a promotion she is the best customer service representative i have ever met. Not only the best burger & fries I've had in the UK but anywhere! I asked for regular french fries well done and every single one was perfectly crisp & tasty. I ordered the Spicy Jalapeno Baja and it was near perfection. On top of it such friendly & lovely service even close to shutting time. This easily beats my former champion Five Guys, Shack Shack in London or Almost Famous over in Manchester. I had Smashburger in Philadelphia and this Newcastle branch blew it away. The only place that I can remember coming close to this is the Corner Bistro in New York City. BTW I'd suggest the regular french fries over the smashfries which seem overengineered to me. I very much look forward to my return to see if Smashburger UK is truly the new UK hamburger champ! Until then thank you to the Newcastle crew on Tuesday, 3 September for a fabulous and unexpected delight :-)

Smashburger is really well located in eldon Square. The staff is really quick to help you and they look after your needs. I wouldn't call them the best burgers you can find, but they certainly don't fall short under the line. If I'd recommend something it would be their milkshakes, specially oreo, it is really good. If you are looking for something quick to have while doing your weekly shopping in eldon, I'd recommend give it a try.
