A group of five of us ladies visited for food and a drink on a Friday night and what a great decision it was. We decided that rather than have a meal each we would have a variety of starters to share (10 in all). We all agreed that the food was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and such great value for money. We found out that the chef that night was the manager Craig so a huge thank you to him and as they say our compliments to the chef. Special thanks also to the lovely bar lad Kieran. What a breath of fresh air he is, nothing was a bother to him and he's such a canny and friendly lad. Would definitely recommend The Plough and will be going back. Oh and the wine was good too and not a bad price. 10/10

It has been a looong time since I was in this pub, went in once and never returned, until today. The place is well decorated, the staff were great, as is normal these days, most of the walls removed creating a large L shaped room with a small beer garden at the rear. I'll have to go back to try the food..........We've have been back several times now and, the staff are still great and the chefs even better.

Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Great Selection of Food. Food was delicious, served on time and great value. Couldn't improve anything in terms of service/food/drinks however place is looking a little dated but that wouldn't necessarily stop me from visiting. Maybe a regular weekly pub quiz or some entertainment would be nice.

Called into The Plough on a trip to the area. What a great decision that was. A fabulous place to drink and dine. Extensive food menu of high quality. Very well laid out interior. Warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Big thank you to Lorraine for the excellent service provided and the attention show to my granddaughter. Lovely pub very welcoming. Great food and good prices. Located in a nice quiet part of killingworth. I ordered the hunters chicken with chips on a bed of onions. Myself and four friends made a reservation on evening of 14th January and found The Plough Inn in Killingworth village a most enjoyable night. Keiran was very attentive and supplied all asked of him in service as was the food cooked by Craig, the manager who cooked all the food ordered to an excellent standard. Came in today for food, asked if it’s okay the dog comes in the pub only to find out they are dog friendly in the bar! And pleased that after just a few minutes the staff came over with a bowl of water for the dog. Love this place! Can’t fault it, popped in for lunch with my partner today. We were met at the door by a nice lady who explained the new rules. I’m not a pro with new technology but easily downloaded an app they use for table service. Food was fantastic, piping hot and great value for money. All the staff are friendly and the general atmosphere of the place is great. Will be popping in for breakfast next week. Thank you all for a lovely afternoon.

I want to start off by saying the way the pub is set out to make things safe for Covid 19 procedures is amazing I have been to a few local pubs around my area and this is by far the best I felt very reassured and safe. Track and trace done by a lovely girl on the front door all wearing masks and table service explained perfectly! The food was great we tried a dirty stack burger and for the money is was a massive portion! My partner had fish and chips which again was beautiful. Great visit lovely team! And SAFE! My husband and I had gorgeous tasty sizzling steaks / mixed grill. It was superb and hats off to the chef (Sarah) for such a lovely meal. First time coming here. Sunday We decided to come as I got an email about 2 for 1 on steaks. Steaks were cooked to perfection and even better, there was amazing grill marks! We were guaranteed a sizzling skillets and they did not disappoint. Chef Jess was absolutely fantastic, she even came out and spoke to us to make sure everything was perfect on our first visit. We all celebrate special days in the plough. Although we still enjoyed this visit we had to wait some time for the meal and everything was fine . The exception was the surf and turf which had an extremely rare steak when a medium was asked for. The scampi was the opposite Very well done. Wow, after reading mixed reviews thought I’d try for myself and my god I wasn’t disappointed! The was a group of us 2 kids and 4 adults. 2 of the adults ordered the chicken dinner, after a while of waiting they were told there was no yorkshire puddings, which in all fairness was not a big deal, they got some extra stuffing to make up for it. The dinners arrived, now it only has stuffing, mashed potato, peas and chicken, ( no other greens at all ) but not just any old chicken, it was breaded chicken. The other meals we did not have a problem with at all.

Have frequented the Plough for some time now, mainly for food I n the early evening, use to be very good, for quality, service and food , well not any more, the staff have changed slightly, but the usuals are still there, just with an attitude problem, unless I just picked the wrong day, any way, it must have been the wrong day for the Chef as well !! Some dishes were off the menu, our food came late, with small portions, table's left uncleared for our whole visit, is when our desserts arrived WE had to move our meal plate's to another table to make space!! There were 4 of us dining, spent a few bob, and when we asked if we could get s small ramekin of sauce yes, that'll be £1, really, a squirt from s bottle a quid, no thanks, anyway the staff seemed more worried to go outside for s cigarette than anything else, won't be back, although I doubt the staff will be bothered.
