Reviews of Ury Supasatra Restaurant
M. F.
This is a very nice restaurant near the Quayside in Newcastle. A very welcome at the entrance, very clear menu and prices. The waitress explained the plates they are serving.
The food is exceptional, a bit spicy for us and the waitress comes to ask how we are doing and offers mango yogurt and water.
Excellent customer service and food.
A. O.
Genuinely surprised at how good the curry and starters were here, really really good. The pakora and 'donuts' were delicious. The lamb curry I had was perfect spice and the flavour was spot on. Great atmosphere with a bit of incense burning.

Ooft.. im normaly very adventurous with my food and have been let down on occasions, not tonight! I got a Just Eat delivery from here.. arrived early well packaged and piping hot by a friendly driver! My starter was tasty.. seafood karu muru, not what you would expect. Slightly crispy pieces of tender fish fried with curry leafs and other spices, very different from anything ive tasted before, i loved it! And for my main... ill start off with the pilau rice.. mmmm very fragrant and well seasond, beautiful! Also the chemmeen masala (prawns) was exelent!!! Not aure how authentic it is but i could imagine myself in Sri Lanka eating this, that was very delicious... quite savory alightly hot and packed full of flavour! I think you know straight away when you taste a dish that you will order it again.. well tonight this was the dish for me, magic 😁👍👌

We were recommended this restaurant by a friend who travels to Newcastle regularly on business. We booked a table, using the online service, for this evening at 7.30. The online booking was simple and very effective. We were welcomed by a lovely lady and soon we were enjoying the surroundings with a beer and a wine. The food was absolutely superb and the service of the highest order. Without a doubt the Ury rates in the top few of any of the restaurants I have ever visited. I will definitely eat here again when next we travel down to Newcastle from our home in the far north of Scotland.
Five star surroundings, five star food and five star service. I would recommend the Ury without hesitation. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Update - Dec. 2021
Went back tonight for our second visit to this wonderful restaurant. As before, 5* food, 5* service and wonderful attention to detail. Thank you for a fantastic evening.
Update - June 2022
Visited twice this week, once heading south and again on our way back home to Scotland. A fantastic evening both times. Fabulous food, great Cobra and Shiraz and welcome and service of the highest order. A total delight in all respects.
Oh for a restaurant like this in the far north of Scotland, where we live!!!!

Decent, but not my favourite Indian in Newcastle. I think you pay a bit more because of it's location in a trendy part of the city. Some of the dishes were exquisite but some didn't seem as authentic, perhaps anglicised to suit every palate.
M. R.
Had the banquet for five people for a birthday. Service was great but food was okay. More of traditional meals than your average Indian meals which was nice. The prawn and the lamb curry was really nice. Chicken was nice. Chick pea curry could have done with more flavour and the fish curry wasn't for me. Desert was rice pudding 🤢
G. F.
This restaurant can never disappoint me. I had lunch at another Indian restaurant but was disappointed and since I have been to Ury before thought of having my dinner there and it was the best This is the second review I am leaving and had to do it since I enjoyed the food so much. Ambience is spot on. Love the place, the food and the service. Would definitely recommend it.

Called and confirm the order, substituted an item that was unavailable for delivery. After an hour quietly cancelled my order. I thought the restaurant cancelled the order but it appears there was a technical glitch with the aggregator app. The order was promptly delivered. The food was tasty and i always recommend Ury for excellent south Indian delicacies.
V. J. J.
Gorgeous food. We shared a few starters including the onion bhajis and chicken pakoras and they were lovely. Our main meals were just as nice. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Sunday 29th May. 10 of us for a birthday party. Restaurant was very quiet on arrival around 5.30pm. great atmosphere and very friendly attentive staff. Had a fantastic time and food was amazing. Would have been 5 stars but for some reason the food took 2 hours to be served which was inconvenient for some of us who had childminders etc. Complained to the management about waiting time and they were very prompt in replying and offering to compensate our party. Defo be back but just a little wary of the waiting time in future. Could become our favourite !!!

If, like me, you like south Asian and Sri Lankan food you will love this restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, the service is first class, and the food is well crafted and extremely tasty. If you want Curry and Chips, I suggest you go elsewhere for what you get here is the real thing.

We were looking for something different to celebrate my wife's birthday, and had heard that Ury was perhaps the best Indian restaurant in Newcastle, so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We had a fabulous meal. Unlike many Indian restaurants, the menu was not extensive, but clearly the chefs have honed their skills on the dishes that are listed. There was nothing on the menu that we would have rejected, and it was a hard choice between the vegetarian special set menu and the dishes that we ultimately selected.
We went for the poppadum selection as an appetizer. In itself, this was a superb dish, with a selection of 5 very flavoursome dips. For starters my wife had an enjoyable plate of devilled squid and my fried kingfish was amazing. Very spicy, but in an enjoyable way. My wife then selected the fish curry and I went for dried lamb. We sampled each other's dishes and agreed they were truly delicious. We didn't have rice, but a type of naan, and frankly, that was enough. The portion sizes are perfect, and we were truly replete.
The team who were serving that night really made a fuss of us, and were most kind because it was my wife's birthday.
We were surprised at the bill, because we had expected to pay much more, and consequently, we give a really big thumbs up for Ury. If you want something that really is different, is truly authentic and which is good value for money, you must come here. We shall be back for sure. Thanks for a great night !!
A. D.
Lots of good authentic eats here! Recent portion sizes that don't leave you feeling horrendous, vegan options are on the menu (noted with a V not VG). Delicious food and very friendly staff
R. M.
Curry was very spicy overall. Vegetarian dishes were lacking ingredients.. Prawns were nice. Different to traditional curries.
p. r.
Great food and excellent and friendly service. And to cap it all they managed to find us a dog friendly cab to get us home in a rain storm!

Not your average Indian. Some fabulous food here, even the paratas are to die for. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
A. C.
Good setting, a bit tight, food selection was good which is nice as the restaurants woth fifty things on the menu tend to be not so good. Ordered the lamb with the grilled bread I forget the name.
The lamb was a bit too chewy and dry which of the mark kinda ruined things. The sauce was on point had flavour and good thick texture.
Overall it was an OK experience, as I have sampled some the best curries in Bradford this unfortunately had a lot to live up to. Quick bite with the squad? Why not... An authentic curry experience I'm not sure but worth the try.
C. h.
Lovely restaurant, the staff were so friendly especially the young girl that served us, beautiful food, I would definitely recommend this lovely Indian restaurant 😋 😀 😊
P. H.
Food is yummy and fresh. Staff was friendly. Nice place to eat dosa and fish curry
S. M.
Good ambience, tried Malabar chicken curry, parota and pal payasam. The food tasted exactly how a proper malayali should taste like. Only few south Indian restaurants exists in UK which provides a authentic taste this is one of those. Will definitely visit to try more from their menu. Service is very good as well
M. R.
Beautiful southern Indian cuisine. Just when I thought I'd exhausted Indian food, here comes a load of new flavours! Great selection suitable for vegans too.
S. B.
Absolutely gorgeous food top class staff well attentive could not fault the place been a few times always great experience and will certainly be going back soon
P. T.
Amazing food, fast service. Great, friendly workers. Always smiling and cheerful. Would recommend and come again.
D. B.
First time visit and will return...not a great amount on the menu but meal was so tasty...quick service lovely staff
t. 3.
Efficient friendly service. Nice well maintained premises. Good food. The vegetable curry we tried was actually much better than the fish and chicken one. The Indian IPA (Bombay Bicycle) is excellent.
M. L.
Lovely south Indian cuisine, I just love the masala dosa and the waiter recommended a medium Malabar Kozhi and spiced it up a bit for me. I also had a Bombay Bicycle IPA (get it... pale ale from India) by Cobra brewery. Quite busy even midweek. Friendly atmosphere.
C. D.
Very tasty Sri Lanka and South Indian food at a very reasonable price.
Fantastic service by Sri Lankans serving there. 👌👌
E. P. T.
* Not so welcoming staff, never smiled (she was not wearing mask as the owner replied in their comment, LOL)
* Ambience is good.
* Parking is a bit problem.
* Reservation recommended.
* Special Ury Biriyani is perfect. Kudos to the chef.
* Reasonable rates.
S. S.
Haven’t ever eaten such delicious food.
Authentic taste of South India.
P. C.
Went there on a Friday afternoon. We we're the only table so I don't know what the service looks like on a busy day. I had a really pleasant experience. The service was really good, friendly and really polite. We starter with PAPADOMS. The sauces were really good but the the papadoms we're different that the ones you usually find in other places. Didn't enjoy them as much but there were descent. After that we got onion BHAJIS which were really delicious and really tasty. For main I had chicken KORMA with coconut 🍚. The korma was so smooth and full of taste. The coconut rice had a really nice texture and the coconut pieces made it even better. Make sure you try the MALABAR PARATHA. I found it to be a combination of bread with a texture of kataif(lacy, thin Arabic pastry in a way). Highly recommend for sure. On of the best in Newcastle
T. J.
Nice place, tasty food, could have a more extensive menu, fusion food not a full indian menu that you might expect, but worth a visit, friendly staff, super clean venue
K. R.
Outstanding food and service.
The best Indian food I have eaten
P. E.
Managed to get a table as a walk-in with a group of friends. Excellent service. We ordered the banquet - food was excellent. Would definitely return
B. Č.
Amazing food, and an even better staff! Absolutely a great time, and never fails to live up to the expectation. Good job!
B. C.
Very very tasty food. I have been there twice and liked all the items every time. Especially the fish preparations and the fusion courses are awesome. Staffs are also good and ambience is good too. However waiting time after ordering the food is something that should be improved to get 5/5 rating.
S. A.
Biriyani Mela @Ury - tasty variety of meat and veg Biriyani cooked South Indian style. Lovely food, great service.
F. N.
Very good Southern Indian food, very lovely staff!
I. R.
Excellent Kerala and South Indian cuisine served with impeccable service. Pickles chutneys and pappadums to start, the Ury Rasam as starter, Nair Dosa as main and ended with Masala chai. All beautifully cooked and seasoned and elegantly served. If I lived here I would go back once a month. Since I don't, all I can do is warmly recommend.
A. A.
Wonderful food and friendly staff. Recommended.
A. M.
Tasty authentic Keralan food. However I was surprised to see on the bill a charge of six pounds of both pappadoms and pickles. Very prompt and friendly service.
g. c.
The staff and owner/manager are truly, very special people. I can't thank them enough for everything they did for me on Friday evening. The food was outstanding, worth every single penny for the quality and freshness. I hope to visit again, really, I can't recommend that people give this place a try.
S. H.
Great restaurant. Menu was varied, food was superb. Staff very helpful. Will definitely be making this a regular.
D. C.
Very polite, very clean, fabulously tasty, looking forward to the next visit, events in March and April to remember.
M.
Alternative menu to your regular Indian restaurant, but well worth it. Dosa amazing.
b. l.
Have to say this doesn't look much from the outside. Once through the door though a very friendly and atmospheric restaurant is revealed. A good choice of wines. And an excellent choice in food. We couldn't pick so we went with a pre meal snacks followed by the vegetarian buffet. Our taste buds definitely got a work out as we had a range of spices to enjoy. We left feeling very satisfied . And finally just a thank you to the staff who were very friendly and looked after us well.
Y. R.
Ury Restaurant is one of the best restaurant in Gateshead.. It's realy gives you indian food taste in Newcastle. You Must try.
T. W.
The food was very flavoursome. friendly staff. would definitely go again.
K. B.
Before renovation, the coffee was much better, now they server coffee not like the typical Indian style. But the Dosa, Uttapam, Idli are pure south Indian style, loved the food ..
R. C.
We eat here all the time because it is the best, most, authentic, Indian sit-in restaurant in Newcastle. (And we have our own Indian street-food stall business in the city so it takes a lot for us to go to an Indian restaurant!)
But we love South Indian food and Ury is authentically Keralan. The dosas are excellent and so is everything on the menu.
The food is freshly made and the service is excellent.
Lovely people run the place. If you can get a booking for one of their 'festival' meals for a traditional South Indian 'feast' you are in for a culinary treat that won't be equalled outside Kerala.
M. N.
Halal Indian cuisine in the Heart of Newcastle city. Delicious meals and the price is good.
Inside the restaurant there is a lot of Indian heritage which makes the atmosphere great.
What I want to highlight in this spot is that they are actively recruiting students which is great gesture to help students to finance their budget while studying.
I wish their management the best of luck in this hard time.
R.
Tasty food, decent portions. Very slow service tho and pricy.
N. C.
Fabulous food, just took me back to being in India. Especially the Dosa. Delicious spices in the food. Interesting menu. Lovely friendly and kind staff. Indian food at its wholesome and finest plus a lovely birthday medley of ice cream for my mum as an added surprise. Thank you 🙏🏽
T. C.
The aubergine vegetable curry was just amazing. Go try!
A.
Lovely calm atmosphere, very friendly staff, FANTASTIC food, will be returning
K. D.
Amazing food and service. We love curry but this is a great difference due to the Keralan flavours. Have the snack starter instead of poppadoms. Please try a Dosa as well!! We will be back.
A. M.
Liked the food and the ambience of the restaurant.
Being and Indian the food here made me remind of my home which was an absolute bliss. The only down part is the wait time!
Once ordered the food Thales awfully a long time to reach your table.
J. B.
Lovely restaurant. Meals well presented. Service was great.
J. R.
Great food served by lovely waiters who never are too tired to explain the items that are being served.
V. H.
One of the best curries I’ve ever had.
Excellent customer service.
Very delicious Keralan menu.
Will be back here when we come up from London again!
H. K.
Since the first time I ate at Ury a year and a half ago, I've thought about it maybe 3 times a week since. Going to the restaurant as a group is the best way to experience it I think as you get the opportunity to try multiple dishes with the different sundries. Make sure to get the poppadoms with all the pickles (the fish one is incredible) and ask the waiting staff for suggestions on how to accompany each dish. Can't wait to go back!
T. D.
I'm a student in middlesbrough and the last time I ate a dosa was 18 months ago in india. Me n my partner traveled to newcastle just for the dosa. The place and the staff there were polite n very friendly n the dosas were legendary. One of the best dosas I have EVER eaten in my life. Would recommend this place to any person who wants to eat authentic South Indian dosa. Thank you ury and all the staff there for fulfilling my dosa cravings.
S. B.
An experience of Kerala and it's cusine on the Newcastle Quays. Spoil yourself with a Dosa as a starter if you have an appetite but do not miss the home made pickles. O loved the fish pickle but all brilliant. I had a fish main which was absolutely delicious. We were a party of five. w We all enjoyed it. It is a must. Lunchtimes are a good time too.
L. M.
Delicious food! Great service
E. T.
An absolute delight! We stumbled across this gem of a restaurant and were blown away by the starter papadums and sauces, biriyani, shrimp curry, rice pudding and service. We only had two nights in Newcastle but chose to come back twice. Would come back from London just for this restaurant!
S. S.
You must try the Chicken Chatty Biriyani. Delicious, spicy, full flavoured. I had mistakenly selected pick-up instead of delivery and it was fixed immediately by friendly staff.
B. N.
The taste was good and the presentation was fabulous I loved it but the main thing is the timing. They are taking so much time for each single dish. I wish the rectify them and make it quick.
T.
Ideal, way more subtle flavours than when you would expect. So good.
K. F.
Found this place by accident but the food was just amazing! Full of flavour and very traditional southern Indian dishes, way better than any other Indians I've ever tried!
n. c.
Food was good. Quite authentic but a little bit here and there. The dosa was not very crisp . Though the taste was good .
W. T.
Amazing flavours from this unique and authentic find in Newcastle. The squid roast curry was tender with incredible tomato zinginess, the Ury aubergine curry has a lovely roasty, creamy and spicy taste, delicious. Lots of vegan, gluten free and meat and fish dishes. Every one a winner. A choice of flavoured rices, indian breads, and the pre dinner snack are delicious and crunchy, served with tangy pickles and so different to the usual popadoms/chutney fayre. Excellent wines, delicious mango lassi too. The service here is friendly, professional and the team are knowledgeable about the menu. Fantastic value and quality from an Indian : Keralan restaurant, which is a little bit different, and very special.
A. L.
Been there as I saw a review telling their measurement for covid19 is not too overwhelming but still good enough and found that the restaurant was really crowded. The table next to me is only about a metre far and some members of the party were coughing all the times which really made me anxious. The service was good but since I noticed the price change from the menu shown on their website during the eat out to help out campaign, I did not leave tips.
A.
Had a very enjoyable dinner here a few evenings ago with friends. The staff were attentive and pleasant, explaining the various dishes to us. The food was delicious, authentic South Indian cuisine, and beautifully presented. All at a reasonable price! Would happily recommend it.
j. k.
Great little restaurant. Attention to detail and waiting staff very attentive.
S. M.
Nice staff, good food. Not the usual curry house fayre but the interesting (and spicy) Keralan take on it. Recommended.
M. D.
The food here is fabulous. I would very much recommend a visit and the Keralan Feast. Great value and a great way to try lots of new things. Best Indian meal I have had outside of India.
A. R. B.
We came to Ury for a Sunday brunch, and were really pleased with the high quality of the food, the speed and attentiveness of the service, and the excellent value. The waiters were happy to accommodate both of our dietary requirements, and were friendly enough to chat with us after the meal. We are definitely going to make a note of this place, and come back next time we’re in Newcastle!
K. N.
Authentic South Indian cuisine with a wide selection of meat fish and vegetarian dishes on offer. Fresh and really tasty. Staff are friendly and it is usually easy to get a table. They have regular food festivals with exotic preparations marking various special days.
M. F.
Was a bit expensive, and serving was less quantity. Yet I enjoyed the taste and the place.
R. P.
Good food and ambiance...awesome payasam and mango Lassi!!!
F. T. S.
Absolutely excellent food, and really helpful and friendly staff. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough! Indian food which is recognisable and comforting, and plenty to experiment with and explore too.
d. m.
During the pandemic, with their wonderfully appointed restaurant closed and a celebration to have, we decided to order a takeaway instead. It arrived under an hour, a complex munu for 2 order comprising of vegan and vegetarian dishes. 2 starters, 2 mains. Rice of our choice and side with a pair of parathas and a rice pud dessert. Incredible food, arriving hot and well packed. Also have leftovers for tomorrow's lunch too! Five star dining at home, we'll be doing this again. They really put the 'Ury' in 'luxury'.
S. C.
Very authentic, original, good, tasty food with very good service.
Special thanks to Gaurav who is very kind, helping and supportive as always.
Original indian food.
Not a single restaurant is in Newcastle as good as URY with original Indian taste.
Loved the food a lot.
C. T.
Superb food, atmosphere, and service. Thoroughly recommended!
J. C.
We ordered a take-away meal so cannot comment on waiting service matters - however the meal was ordered at mid-day for 17:30 for collection and was ready to the minute.
We had the aubergene bhagi, massala dhosa and malabar chicken curry, fantastic quality, very much as we remember eating in Kerala.
Reasonable value for money and portion sizes were not a problem to us.
Not a curry house but if you like Indian cusine well worth a try to experience real Indian food.
I. C.
Lovely Indian food and excellent service!
G. W. (.
Nice atmosphere, great food and helpful (and very patient) staff. Went here for a meal with work colleagues and will be going back with my wife. Menu is really easy to understand and there are plenty of options too. Recommended
A. S.
Busy place, book the table before visiting and the food was tasty and authentic. We ordered masala Dosas and idlis.
A. W.
Service was really friendly and efficient, food was nice, lot better than your average Indian food.
L. R.
Had a tasting menu of 3 starters, four main courses and a desert. All of the food different to I had tried before and was to a very high standard and presented beautifully. The staff were very chatty, friendly and explained each dish as it was served which was helpful and added to the experience. Would highly recommend trying urys if you haven't already and I will definitely be back to try more.
S. F.
Love this place! I work on the quayside so my colleagues and I walk down to Ury and get the curry lunchboxes,Unbelievable Indian... my dad is 54 he’s had a million Indians and he says the best lamb madras yet.. the service was top notch, great restaurant
A. R.
Very tasty food. Really authentic Kerala dishes. Good service. Nice ambience. Nice facilities, neat and well maintained toilets.
Reserve 5 stars for sure. Visited twice once in august 2018 and november 2018.
s. g.
One of the best South Indian food that we have had uptill to now... This is what my wife said who herself can look pretty good South Indian food. I had some chicken jhangiri and the best thing was when I try to order rice to go with it waiter encouraged me to order Malabar parantha which would go well with this chicken dish! Perfect that's what I expect from a waiter and the food was good too. Thank you
J. M.
A new experience of Indian food. Amazing service, fresh ingredients. A hidden gem in the middle of the city.
J. J.
Possibly some of the best food I have had in Newcastle. It's not a ''curry house" it's a proper authentic Indian cuisine; honestly the food was brilliant first time I've been here and me and my dad finsihed every single bit after a 3 course meal.
The starters were perfect size and the fish soup was an absolute delight and I'm not normally a fan of fish soups.
The mains were possibly my favourite types of currys. No grease, no oily mess and not full of cream with the perfect amount of food - the paratha bread was some form of pancake, having that instead of some normal naan bread (which this place doesnt do which is fine) they had which was unreal with the food honestly need to find this stuff in a shop; so much better than having a naan.
The desserts were all made by them and insane as well. Personally had some form of Indian dumpling dessert in a rose water syrup which was also insane.
Really good price for what you get great clean sitting area with lovely smiling staff and honestly one of the best meals I've had up here to date.
P.
Ury is where home is, the staff is so welcoming and good. Food is gold.
Everything fails in front of this amazing restaurant. Food is really authentic and reminds me of my home.
The ambience can take anyone to kerela.
Love this place.
J. K.
This south Indian restaurant is a must visit for anyone food lover. I was completely blown away by the quality, presentation and the combination flavours I experienced at Ury.
We took advantage of the 'Eat out to help out' as I think this place is slightly expensive.
Irrespective of pricing this kind of quality is definitely worth a try.
We plan on visiting again to take advantage of the banquet offer as we think Ury deserves another visit 😃
G. Y.
Very good experience overall. Thoroughly impressed with the amount of food we received, which was well presented and delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive which added a nice touch to the experience. We will certainly be back in the future.
R. R.
Absolutely fantastic food and service amazing
J. R.
My absolute favourite Indian restaurant in Newcastle, and anywhere else really. I usually went there once a month. The parathas and shrimp are to die for. I have since moved away from Newcastle and it really makes me sad to think that I might not eat there ever again! It is not the cheapest but it is totally worth it.
g. c. m.
Uri gives mouthwatering delicacies.. A perfect Indian cuisine with Malayalam food. It's taste is unique... This is a perfect place to hang out and get wonderful meal
E. S.
Always delicious! Great veggie options, good service and very reasonably priced - three of us are lunch for £20! Only thing that could be improved would be to get rid of straws!
N. L.
Great southern Indian food, nice surroundings and service. A bit different from your normal Indian food, and definitely worth it!
I had a dry lamb curry dish (idivettu irachi something..) and the Malabar Paratha which is their equivalent to Naan- really delicious.
a.
Fantastic food best service. I took my Girfriend there on a first date she was well impressed. Its now one of out favourites . We get married next year. So it must have worked .
O. S.
I dropped into Ury's for dinner last night when in Newcastle for business. The food was amazingly tasty and unusual, the Kerala specialties are a nice twist on your standard Indian restaurant offering. The service was friendly and staff anticipated my every need. Personally I always like it when a restaurant is confident enough about its food that they don't feel the need to interrupt your meal to ask! I'd thoroughly recommend Ury's to anyone - in particular the crispy spiced potato dumpling starter. Yum!
M. T.
A great range of Indian foods, for those who like the more tradition to those wanting to try something a bit different as well as plenty plant based meals 🌱
This place is loved by everyone Ive taken over the years and is now our family's go to curry house.
Be sure not to miss out on their dosas 😋
M. C.
South Indian food is something of a rarity in the UK, yet wherever it appears quality seems to follow. From the outset the interesting unusual dips and snack starters promised great things. We weren't disappointed. Four of us had four different main courses and to a man raved about the subtle complexity and balance of the flavours. The vegetable side dishes revealed the same masterly attention to detail in taste and presentation. Nothing short of sensational. This cuisine offers the diner a doorway into the idyllic world of Indian vegetarian and seafood dishes that will delight even the most hardened carnivore. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Do yourself a favour, forget the standard boring Bangla Desh cuisine for one night and give your taste buds a memorable treat.
M. S.
An awesome place to visit with lots of authentic options. Very tasty food and super nice staff. Just loved it
A. U.
Most of the Indian Restaurants in Newcastle are Bangladeshi. This one is an authentic South Indian restaurant. You won't find most of the dishes on your standard "Indian" menu, but you won't be disappointed with what you choose. Fresh ingredients, and you can really taste the individual spices, not just the chilli...
A. S.
Love this place! I work on the quayside so my colleagues and I walk down to Ury and get the curry lunchboxes, I recommend the Byriani Box it’s around 6 quid but delicious so good value! 👌🏻 place looks nice inside too!
J. D.
Delicious, authentic south Indian curries. Always friendly & attentive staff. This place is never fails to please. I've eaten out in a lot of places in Newcastle, but I keep coming back here.
P. K.
Excellent food, excellent service, always a great experience, thank you !
J. B.
Really good food, authentic Kerela, lovely accidental find just off the main street by the quayside. Would definitely recommend
A. c.
Went here on 4th July 2020 (so when the restaurants were reopening after lockdown). Excellent service and great safety precautions!
The food was delicious, and the meal deal was also great value as you got a lot of food (3 courses) for a fixed price (I think it was around £15).

Had one party there, didn't like it much.Management was not good.

Good South Indian Kerala food. Flavours could be better. The crab especially was a let down with the wrong crab used for Indian cooking and too much vegetable topping on it. The lamb dish was good everything else was average. Also the service though friendly wasn't efficient as good came at worng times and not being cleared in time...Too many staff standing around chatting. Want this place to succeed hence the above points . All the best

(Translated) There is better in the world.
The restaurant is not particularly welcoming, both in terms of organization and service. It is true that we were a group and things can be different on a single table. I've eaten in other Indian restaurants and frankly the taste of what you eat you usually hear, here it was all killed by the spiciness. A dish absolutely impossible to chew by how hard it was. Italian wine (?) From unlikely cellar, beer looked better, water undrinkable. Cleaning let's forget it

Pulizia lasciamo perdere
