My first visit to wagamama and I must say it was a mixed experience. We had to queue for 10 mins before a table was available and the chap monitoring the queue was friendly and informative. Once seated another really jolly young man talked us through the menu and how to order and pay. A young lady was our server and despite seeming friendly when taking my order, she was less so when there was a 10 min gap between some of the mains coming out, which always so disappointing as it ruined the experience as two mains were nearly done by the time the rest arrived. Her response was simply they'll arrive when they're done when I asked after 5 mins of waiting. Once the food did arrive it was delicious. I'll be back, but not in a hurry

What can I say about this place, other than the food is lush, the staff are amazing and the venue is outstanding. So many vegan options, I always end up wanting one of everything. It's on they expensive side when you have a small budget, but as a treat it's my go to place.

My favourite restaurant ever! The best ramen and Asian food! I have been to this exact restaurant 3 times now within the past year. We always get in straight away, the prices are reasonable and staff is friendly. Food comes out quite fast. With the Eat Out To Help Out we paid £23 for two drinks, 3 starters and 2 mains which was a great discount! We did have to wait 50 minutes to get in last Monday, which was the same time we were inside for, but it was worth waiting for and it's understandable due to the discount. The peach iced tea is the best, the katsu curry is a great classic and the ramens are my favourite! Edamame is a go to favourite, the squid starter is so nice and creamy, the bang bang cauliflower seems really popular I think it's nice but quite simple and the crispy prawns are nice as well!

Excellent food quality and staff is very friendly. Actually one of the staff helped me in teaching how to hold chopsticks as it was my first time eating japanese food. Me and my friends ordered grill chicken bowl noodles. The food was tasty and nutritious. Would love to come back again here. And don't forget to order ice cream after the food, specially coconut with tangy passion fruit one. Loved it!

Had the vegan curry for the first time and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious. For desert had the vegan chocolate orange cake and it tasted just like the chocolate orange. Loved it and would 100% recommend. The staff was also incredibly lovely!

Another Wagamama ticked off the list. Upon walking up the stairs I was greeted by a lovely young lady. Who took me to my table and gave me the menus. As usual they have an extensive range for both Vegan and non vegan. The restaurant itself is well set out, very light and open. I had a window view looking across the square. My order was taken by a young chap who I found to be very polite. I ordered my usual Bang Bang Cauli and the vegan tofu curry. Service was very fast all up I think I only waited 15 minutes for my main to come out, started came out within 10 minutes. Overall a very good experience and thoroughly recommend to anyone living or visiting Newcastle. Thank you to the staff at Wagamama 10/10

The food presentation was perfect but the food wasn't tasty at all, the chicken was tasteless and the ramen too. I wouldn't recommend the place if you want to go try authentic Japanese food because it's quite expensive and it is not worth the money at all. I rated this place 3 stars just because the costumer service was amazing, very friendly, nice and polite staff which made me feel welcomed.

Wagamama is a reliable place to go, although I think the atmosphere is better for lunch than an evening meal. The beef steamed buns are one of our favourites and you can never go wrong with a Katsu curry or yakisoba. My partner really likes the chilli beef ramen but I am not keen. Service is nice and food comes out fast. The fresh juices are also lovely.

Has vegan options for those that are interested and all round is probably one of the few places I never need a starter or desert as everything I've ever tried on the menu is immensely filling. Covid-19 wise it's about what you're used to now with track and trace, tables with partitions etc, so pretty safe.

I have never seen a restaurant so dedicated to allergies, they had a large file with all allergies listed specifically for each dish. They then made the managers take the orders and we were reassured that there was a chef that worked with a separate sanitised bench and separate utensils from the other chefs. I was very impressed and made me feel safe eating all the dishes :)

My fiancé and I were excited to return to one of our favourite restaurants, but also apprehensive as it was our first time going back to a restaurant and dining in. We were so pleased to see all of the safety measures in place and felt safe and comfortable. The star of the evening (besides the great food) was our server Alex. She immediately came over to us and her energy was so bright and warm. My fiancé and I have specific dietary requirements and we asked for her suggestions. She took the time to lay out the options, understand our needs, and make sure we felt comfortable. We often get nervous dining in because it can be awkward to request so many substitutions. However, Alex was engaging, friendly and patient. She told us her favourite dishes and how we could modify them. I was taken aback by the outstanding customer service, as I am originally from Canada, and have found customer service here in general not as attentive as I am used to. It is safe to say our experience with Alex was the best customer service we’ve had since we’ve moved to the UK over a year ago! We live in Gateshead, but will travel specifically to the Eldon square newcastle location as all the staff we interacted with were amazing. Took my Granddaughter for lunch as she is at University in Durham. My Granddaughter is vegan and this place has great choices for her and me. The meal my Granddaughter ordered was very spicey. When we asked the waitress if there was anything we could do to make it more mild the waitress without hesitation insisted that something else could be cooked for her at no charge!!😀 She was so kind and helpful and turned what may have turned into a disaster of a meal into a great dining experience. Nice food and great selection of choices if you're looking for something a bit different. They don't have individual tables and opt for long bench-like tables - personally I'm not a fan of these but if you don't mind them then you'll be fine. Menu is good but the prices were a bit a steep.

The food is great, as it is at 99% of Wagamama restaurants. I was promptly greeted despite the busyness of the place, and shown to a table. Most of the tables are long and communal, but it doesn't feel cramped at all and adds to the atmosphere. The staff are excellent and the service is fast. Cold because of a fault with the heating. Plenty of (free) green tea to warm us up. It may be a faulty memory, but I think the quality and amount of the noodle dishes has decreased over past years. Wonderful central location in Newcastle. Staff are all friendly and well informed on the menu. Really great vegetarian/vegan menu that is very clearly labelled and I believe there is even a separate menu for it now. Huge choice of dishes from noodles to ramen to curry or salad. Always delicious food and quick service, comfortable atmosphere and very very clean. Would definitely recommend however if attending in large groups be prepared to wait to be seated as it is always fairly busy so would recommend calling ahead in large parties. Food is available for take out or delivery by deliveroo now. All food is also made to order so always tastes fresh and is always red hot.

Wagamama's used to be great. This was my first visit for a year or so. The menu had not changed although the prices were all higher (£7 for a beer, really?!). The food was fine, the portions smaller than I remember though and just looked less impressive than I remember. Service was OK, but seemed to be pretending to be cheerful because they have to. Then I found out that Wagamama's was bought last year by the owner of frankie and bennys. Its losing its identity. Such a shame.

Today myself and my daughter were stuck in Newcastle due to issues with train lines. My daughter has autism so this had been a very stressful day and your helpful friendly service put us right at ease, delicious food and lovely staff. When asked how my meal was I said delicious and that a really difficult day had ended on a high after having eating at wagamama's. I didn't go into detail, I was exhausted but boosted by great food and staff. I was then told because it had been my daughter's first time at wagamama's (She is hooked) and as our day had been difficult the bill was on them. I was so overwhelmed and emotional I didn't even take the young ladies name, but without even knowing what had occurred today your staff showed this lovely gesture (and service and food was amazing)your staff are a real credit to you. Thank you so much and I will be passing on this gesture of goodwill to someone else...and continuing to visit wagamama's too with my daughter. 💛
