Used to have to drive to coast for decent fish and chips, Whickham Fish Kitchen is now the best around. Food is always cooked fresh when ordered and tastes amazing, never had any issues! The girls behind the counter always working extremely hard even when its boiling hot and busy, always have a smile on their faces. Amazing food, amazing service, keep up the great work!

Had fish and chips today and they were divine. Loved the little pot of tartar sauce and slice of lemon was a lovely touch. Quick friendly and efficient service. Well done 👏

Food was good, large fish loads of chips but, I must admit I've had better and slightly less greasy. They had also ran out of child portions of fish and therefore had to pay full price for a meal obviously too large for a child. Over all, would go again

A pot of garlic sauce is included with the fish and chips. My husband hates garlic (which seems an odd accompaniment to fish) . If it was tartare sauce I would have given 5 stars for food.

Absolutely beautiful fish and chips. Cooked in dripping so you don't get the greasy claggy taste in your mouth. Tartar sauce is gorgeous as well, my new favourite!

Best fish and chips in the area. Fish is always beautifully cooked and the chips are proper chips in beef dripping and good size portions. I wouldn’t go anywhere else !!

Excellent fish and chips. The best in the local area. Beef dripping used to fry the chips, homemade tartar sauce free with meals. Friendly staff, people queue in the rain for their food, that tells you something... Not slow service... Just expect a line of people waiting for their supper.

Been in today, first time since it changed hands a year ago and was not disappointed . Lovely chips, crispy on outside and fluffy on inside . I even got a piece of birthday cake. Will definitely be back. So much better than the old shop and other local chippies . My new favourite chip shop

First time I have visited for many years.What a difference, clean ,organised and the best fish and chips for many a year. One minor complaint, I ordered mushy peas but when I returned home found It was curry. If I could make a suggestion - mark the top of the tubs to indicate contents. I will still re-visit because of the quality

WOW just WOW.......went to Whickham Fish Kitchen tonight and had the best fish and chips i’ve ever tasted. No frills just proper good grub served by 3 lovely ladies who couldn’t have done more. Fresh fish and crisp double cooked chips with batter and salt and vinegar were just amazing, well worth the drive from Low Fell 👍🏼 All other local fish and chip shops will need to seriously up their game to compete with this absolute gem 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Went her for the 1st time lastnight and my god its was the best fish & chips we've had since billy wighams chippy shut years ago . And as for the tartar sauce only 1 word needed to describe it "GORGEOUS" . AND VERY PLEASANT STAFF as well . Will deffo be going back

Ever since whickham fish kitchen opened they've sold the best ever fish and chips in whickham itself. The staff are warm and friendly and are very helpful. They'll put your order up as you like it. And will always put the customers first. Their home made tartar sauce is to die for same as their home made fish cakes.

Well worth the wait. A fish shop offering Haddock in this day and age and also frying in dripping is always a great sign, (sorry vegetarians, unsure if it's friendly or not), friendly staff and even the seagull sounds are worth coping with, must visit again soon.

Fur coat etc. Nice box, lemon wedge, tartare sauce. Soggy chips, too much batter masking a small, tasteless cod. Stick to McGuire's in Swalwell .
