We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our daughter’s 20 birthday and boy did we get it! Top class ingredients, creative menu, stylish is interior and all presented with class and panache without being pretentious.
I couldn’t recommend this place more highly to make your occasion something extra special.

S. O.Gem 42 in Newport is AMAZING! The food is out of this world. You must go if you are in the area. If you are not in the area then you must make the effort to get here. The restaurant is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The food is cleverly and creatively presented on a range of different plates, bowls and porcelain dishes - very entertaining. The staff are excellent and the chef explained every morsel in detail. The whole evening was an incredible and delicious theatrical event. Highly recommend!

Y. C.A must go if you're in Wales. An unassuming location with Michelin star quality food. Creative, delicious and the presentation is exceptional along with their attentive service. We had the 6 course delicious tasting menu, and every dish will have a twist/surprise. Signature Scallop, waygu beef, impressive display of starters and sprinkles of palette cleansers in between - you will not be left disappointed. Hope to be back!

M. A.Wow! Went here for my birthday as we’ve recently moved in just around the corner. What a magical experience. Every dish was delicious and presented like a work of art by the amazing chef. I had the kombucha parings and my partner had wine, both were delicious. We had the 4 course menu which was more than enough with all of the amuse bouches and sorbets. Truly an unforgettable evening that you so much Gem42 team.
