Love the setting and decor very cool but sandwiches were bit underwhelming which was gutting as we are huge fans of anything cheese and and wanting to go here for ages.Thinking the cheese was either mozzarella or mild cheese so really no flavour. We ordered, dirty fries and nachos but they both came out with exactly the same toppings...mainly spring onion, orange and green peppers, a nacho sauce and mayo, very random and again not very cheesy. Shame as we love the concept, and style of this place. Just needs more cheese and flavour. X

Sandwiches full of cheesy goodness. Grabbed a takeaway and the food was out fast and fresh. We had the Chilli Con Carnage and the R 'N' Brie; both were really good!

Excellent grilled cheese sandwiches. 2 sandwiches and 2 fizzy drinks were about £14. The sandwiches had a ton of cheese! I was full for hours. They have vegan, vegetarian and meat eater cheese sandwiches. They also have pastries (vegan and vegetarian). The staff were lovely and I would visit again. My only complaint is that the cafe was very echoey, which made hearing conversations difficult. Some sound absorbing panels would be good (and you can make them yourself with rockwool insulation and 'acoustically transparent' fabric :-)

A very sweet cafe that I enjoyed visiting. They have a large house dog so if you don't like that then don't eat in. If you do then he is friendly but curious and could become vocal at times. I liked it and I would recommend it to friends just for the wit of the name alone.

We ordered off Uber eats and it was gorgeous. They clearly put a lot of care into the food and everything was fresh and hot. It was our first time ordering and it did not disappoint. We got the chilli con carnage, the Mac daddy and a portion of dirty fries. Can definitely recommend.

You won't find a better place to eat in Newport. It's a little piece of heaven for cheese lovers, not a massive choice of menu. But this is where the old adage of quality and not quantity comes to mind, simple, effective and definitely delicious. The two lovely people (Vern and Emily) who run Holy Cheesus are friendly, polite and always have time to chat with the customers. It's our families favourite place to stop in and get a fix of toasted cheese sandwiches. 10/10

A quirky establishment! Today had ordered the last souper with the addition of red onions for £4 you get a large toastie filled quite generously with cheese & toppings accompanied by a pot of creamy tomato soup, the perfect dipping friend for the cheese toastie!! The toasties are instagram boomerang envious & always top notch!! Visit this local treat & give the small business the credit that it deserves!

Always a great treat from Holy Cheesus. Had an issue with a Just Eat driver, but Lawrence was excellent in helping to reslove the problem. Had 2 sandwiches and 2 cakes and all were delicious, as usual. Lovely food and service. No pictures as we'd eaten it too quickly! Highly recommended

Today was my second day at Holy Cheesus, So so good! Only one member of staff was on today, (Saturday) ..the shop was filled as we entered and also kept on filling as we were served and sat down eating. I have to say that he handled it amazingly.. It would be awesome to see this grill in a venue just a little bit bigger, although I am not complaining in the slightest.. Great customer service and knockout food! :)

Super friendly service! They had run out of nearly everything on their small menu as we got their quite late in the day but, my goodness, we were not disappointed. Very cool interior, enjoyed browsing the records and the food was out of this world, perfect for munching on the sofa watching the rugby.

I can't get over how great this place is. The staff are friendly, informative and funny. The surroundings are covered with art and the menus are inside of books to read with your food. The best part of this is how delicious the food I had the R and Brie which was amazing and my partner had the very generously portioned Mac Daddy.

I had the cheese and chilli toastie and the halloumi fries. In hindsight I didn’t really need the halloumi fries as the toasty was very filling. What I love about this place is they don’t skimp on the cheese. There’s no “50% less fat” b.s here. Just good old fashion melted cheese and lots of it. My partner only managed to eat half of her toastie, which was great as more cheese for me 🤪🧀
