The fish and chips are the best ive ever had, the batter was light and crispy, chips were amazing and the portions were exceptional....its a 10 out of 10 from us. We will definitely be using this establishment in the near future...i urge anyone who hasnt to give this plaice a go :):):):)

Since moving to the island in 2020 I've been looking for the best fish and chips, and by far, this is the one.
My medium cod (which was enough for 2 😅) was both meaty and moist wrapped in a delicious crispy batter.
We also ordered our Nan a OAP plaice and chips which I reckon would have fed 4 OAPs 😂
It seems they are known for their large portions so I highly recommend to not over order (unless you want a chip buttie every day for the following week).
T. E.Ozze's plaice was a surprise find. The cod was fresh and the batter and chips fried to crispy perfection. The portions are very generous, the medium sized cod & chips would have easily fed 3-4 people. We'll be back
A. S.Tried here for chips. Ordered 2 medium portions. Couldn't believe the size of the bag and confirmed with the lady it was my order. When I got home one portion going up the space on 2 dinner plates. I thought they'd made a mistake so second time we went ordered the same. And same massive portions. We are a family of 7 (2 adults, 4 kid and a baby) 2 large chips with sausages for the kids and a burger each for the adults easily leaves us with a third of the chips left over! The service is fantastic, staff are always lovely and welcoming. We come from Ryde just for their chips and service! If I could give them a billion stars I would!

M. S.We read that Ozze's Plaice was good so we decided to drive 12 mile round trip to it and we were glad we did. We had 3 whale size haddock and chips. We only had one large chips because that was enough for 3 people to have a normal portion each. After smelling the food all the way back we were starving but it was worth the wait. Delicious! Thanks guys. Coming again this Friday before we go home

F. L.It's a good sign when you order your fish and chips and see someone walk through with a nice looking fresh fillet ready to batter. You know it's fresh, not frozen.

c. w.This is a great place for fish and chips. The portions are way too large. But others may say there just right. My only downside is and I have to be honest. I wonder what fish you get with your chips sometimes it smells really fishy and is grey. It doesn't have that buttery taste. I understand that the fish industry supply a lot of cod alternatives that are still within the rules of being called cod. I do not find this at the fish and chip shop in Carisbrooke which is another I visit. Has anybody else found this?

Most fish and chip shops do your portions based off your own appetite. Small for your small appetite or large if you're feeling quite hungry.
Things are a bit different here. Ozze does his portions based off your family size so small is for your small family, easily enough to feed 2 or 3 people!
They always serve great tasting food with overly generous portions.
