The staff that served us was fantastic polite etc ease feeling. Compliments to the chefs food was perfect. Seating was spot on. We had the rack of ribs done to perfection. Thanks to everyone there.

The staff were polite and professional. We were shown to our table and ordered drinks. We had time to look at the menu before ordering our meals. I had the Gammon Egg Pineapple and Chips with garden peas. It came on a hot plate and was very tasty.

Popped in for a Sunday roast using the table booking app at the last minute. Booking through the app was quick and easy and would recommend. Had three courses. All portions were a good size and all meals were fresh and hot. Really good value for money. Staff were great. Really made sure we were looked after. Would absolutely recommend.

I had chicken dish but wasn't too struck on the BBQ sauce but that's personal taste. My husband had mixed grill and asked for steak to be well done but it came out rare and like an old boot! Surely chef ("grill masters") should be able to cook a steak properly. We had a 40% voucher so only mentioned steak not cooked properly and didn't make a big deal of it. So glad didn't pay full price. We have another voucher but won't be returning even with discount sadly!

Passing by and stopped off on the off chance of grabbing some dinner on a busy Father's Day having not booked. The lovely lady who greeted us checked to see if she could fit us in which she did. The service was great, staff efficient and friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!

Just off the Coldra roundabout, the local Beefeater & all it has to offer. As a Beefeater Reward Member, I had a 50% off Mains voucher so we booked a table, 5 adults & 2 children. On arrival we were pleasantly greeted & shown to our table in the Restaurant. It was a 5 15pm booking & the restaurant was quiet, although hot on entry. It was a very hot day & although windows were open, they could only be opened slightly but no scope to open further. The food was good, the discount very welcoming (otherwise a bit overpriced). What actually spoilt our meal was the heat - do they have air con?? This would put us off to return in similar weather

It was busy on a Monday, but we ordered at the bar and they checked on us a few times. My kids ate all their food, and that's what's important right? Bathrooms needed attention. I ordered the Tbone steak medium, it was the flattest tbone I've ever seen.Overall not a bad experience.

Lunch menu is good value. Almost half the price of main menu for the same items. Eg; 8oz Rump steak, triple cooked chips and garden peas. £8.99. Add a pudding or starter for 50p.

One of the best cooked steaks I have ever had at a Beefeater. The breakfast was not quite the same in both service and quality. However this was still good.

Got there just after 5pm on a Friday, nice and quiet. Place was virtually empty except for a few couples, so chose a table nowhere near anyone. Why is it some places seat you next to other people when it's empty??? Lovely older lady took my order she was very nice. Ordered the beef and cheddar pie minus the green beans. Bliss. Only grumble was the bed of mash it was sat on was warm and not hot. It's been ages since I've had a duet pie. Yum. Followed it up with the Mississippi mud pie. Bad idea. The pudding is sooooo dense. It beat me. It started to get a lot busier as I left around 6pm. Good dining experience.

Had Christmas lunch here. First time I have ever gone out for lunch on Christmas day. Food was excellent, staff were so friendly and attentive, atmosphere was very chrismassy. Enjoyed by all and would highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff who gave up their own Christmas day to serve us!

By far the worst food we've ever had at a Beefeater. Sweet potato fries were burnt and steak was tough and fatty. The churros sundae doesn't work as the churros were rubbery and inedible. We've been going there for years but even 40% off mains isn't likely to tempt us back any time soon. Shame as the service is always good and waiting staff friendly.

Have been many times before the pandemic and its been very good. Went for a birthday treat and I was very disappointed in the food. The chicken had a funny taste and the coleslaw too. The portions were small and the corn on the cob had just 3 lines of corn. The bacon was missed from one meal. The service was good though.

Really enjoyable lunch. However, I have celiac disease and despite asking for and ordering from the gluten free menu, I was glutened. Unfortunately, because I was at a nature reserve, 15 minutes later, I had to run behind some trees. I was wearing jeans. Not nice. I phoned when I got home to speak to the manager and was told he had 'just left', phoned another day just after 3 and again he had 'just left'. I have since looked at my receipt and it doesn't show that GF was ordered. I should have been wary when the potato skins I ordered without spring onions came with spring onions! I will not eat at Beefeater again.

Food was nice, but quite expensive for what it was. Beefeaters used to be better value for money !! Also, be careful of "bottomless" drinks - we ordered 2 diet Pepsi and were offered bottomless. We also ordered two normal Pepsi which we assumed would be the same. It wasn't till the bill came and we queried it that we were told bottomless is only on the diet drinks. Go figure ??

It was OK here. First time back in a long time and not much changed. Getting a little tired now, but food was reasonable, but a bit high priced for what it was. Service was OK with staff friendly and engaging. Car park is free, but you need to make sure that you register your car number before you leave.

Booked via phone = ok. Reasonable/ish portions for main meals; no vegetable options to add. Expensive for what you get. Shocked at dessert size portions for the prices charged! (need to reduce the price by at least half for the small portion!) Polite friendly staff. Was not asked if our meal was ok until we'd finished it! Poor variety of wine's on offer (Never heard of any of them before) 1st bottle wasn't opened as it was not what I asked for; a Rosé. Got Zinfandel. After changing it as request to a different bottle of wine: it tasted like vinegar! Asked to change to a red Merlot (which was COLD! I struggled to sip 1/2 a glass with my meal!) RED is almost always served at room temperature or above; surely they should've known this? Can't blame Covid for that detail! 1 way system in place for Covid. Free parking up to 3 hour's.

Food and young waitress were great. The let down was that we didn't get a very warm welcome. When the lady at front of house asked if we'd booked, we said no, she then gave us a dirty look even though there were only 2 tables seated and begrudgingly took us to a table. She never explained about the refillable drinks or the menu that offered £5 meals. The main menu was quite expensive, but the offers menu was fair priced. Great selection of different meals, clean and modern. Just shame about the front of house lady, otherwise I'd have given 5 stars!

Arrived without a booking at 6pm. Restaurant had 2 diners but the waitress made very heavy weather over which table we could have!!. Service throughout was abysmal. Young girls with no apparent management or direction and certainly not intent on working up a sweat! All 5 of us only ordered a main course, and we were seated for almost 2 hours! On the plus side the food was fabulous - well done chef - you are our only reason to come back.

Group of seven for a family visit. Our waitress was Ellie who worked hard but was let down by the kitchen. One side salad had old, nasty leaves; the ice machine was not working and had apparently been out of order for two months; a few items we tried to order were not available. The food was ok, but would not have been worth full menu price, thankfully we arrived early enough to qualify for the earlier cheaper menu. Overall the experience was ok, but there are almost certainly better places to go with better quality and value for money.

Food was lovely as always at every beefeater you go too. The service was horrendous. I felt invisible to our waitress. I wanted to order another drink and said excuse me and she completely ignored me. When she was taking our plates away she was just talking to the table behind. She didn't bother to check if our starters were ok. When it come to the main course she only checked our meal was ok when we had a couple of mouthfuls of food left. The service really let it down!

Aside from the fact that Beefeater as a chain has gotten rid of my two favourite items on the menu, I was impressed by the quality of the food my table and I received. There were two steaks (medium rare and medium) and I noticed a definite difference between the two steaks. Very impressed with that. Not many chefs can make their steaks spot on like that. I had the mixed grill and all the meats were cooked perfectly. I ended up having a few bits from another member's grill and it was identical quality so very pleased with that. My vegetarian mother was very happy with the selection of non meat options available, especially considering its a *beef* restaurant, that scores points with us, both salmon options were happily devoured. There was one meal that wasn't available, but that wasn't a massive problem due to the large number of alternatives available. My only beef (haha) with this particular branch is because of the main source of light for the particular section of restaurant that we were sat in. The multiple bulbs were flickering ever so slightly which caused multiple cases of headaches and migraines. However, our server Jenny was more than happy to turn the light off which made all of us a bit happier (but still with headaches sadly). Other than that

Had a meal there last night, the meal was nice, but the staff were rushed off there feet, definitely not enough staff, what staff were there were running around like headless chickens, felt really sorry for them, management need to sort out this problem. As we felt awkward asking for things that were forgotten to be brought to our table as we could see how rushed and flustered they were.

Only here through staying in the hotel next door. The menu is restricted yet plenty of choice still. My dissapointment is when you order a meal you want what you have ordered for example one of the sides was not on the plate just to be told that they haven't got any ,you should be told of any items that are not available on your meal also asked for skinny fries and got the complete opposite all in all a very basic and bland meal for a exhorbarant amount of money

Since moving from London back to Wales this summer, my wife and I have been to this restaurant at least 5 times. Food is consistently excellent value for money. Staff are friendly, polite, accommodating and helpful, always a delight. location has great refurbished decor and is simplicity to get to. Particularly convenient for us as we live almost walking distance away (always get a cab though, as I am basically too lazy!). If you want decent food at a great price and in comfortable surroundings, look no further. I have just booked a table for this evening, can't get enough of those piri piri chicken wings with blue cheese dip and celery... Oh God help me. (And if you are an evil smoker like me, while outside, lean against the fence, not the gate - unless you want a painful 'only Fools and Horses bar hatch experience).

Oh dear.. maybe it's because we sat in the bar, but things not good in the catering dept. The dining room was full of mousey kids so we sat in the bar and ordered food there. The 'posh' starter was delivered without any sauce but brought when we pointed it out. The main was interesting. Cauliflower tart and buttered potatoes - the plate was half filled with them only we had to add the butter! The tart wasn't very interesting. My £22 steak came without mushrooms, but some other 'veggie sausages' were added. The crispy onion was soggy and the slow roasted tomato was raw! Sorry Beafeater, poor standard.

They do need to try get there steak cooking times a little closer to requested but no real problem for my tastes but medium rare was more rare. None the less all very nice and the Mississippi Pie was to die for and could of easily been shared by two. Bang went the daily calories intake on the pie alone. :-)

If you arrive soon after such a group, do not expect brilliant service. Eating in large groups anywhere (not just here) seems an increasing tendency unfortunately - how people manage to organise it I do not know. Personally, I do not know more than about four people who could get their act together enough to arrive at the same place at the same time as eachother.

This is the second time visiting the beefeater at the coldra, I thought before I went it'll be like normal pub grub but I was so surprised to see the menu, the first visit I had the surf and turf which was amazing the scallops, King prawns and the calamari were all cooked to perfection the only down side was the steak its very chewy but not terrible, we had refillable drinks which is great, the staff are very welcoming and helpful, personally I think the dessert menu needs a rethink as it let's the main menu down a little, I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone it really does impress.
