M. C.My wife and I came here for our 11 year anniversary and really couldn't have asked for better food/service. They had even decorated the table with rose petals, candles and a handwritten sign just to make it extra special.
I can honestly say that the food was some of the best we've tried in the town and some of the best Caribbean food we've ever had.
The Dumplings and Stamp & Go were perfect, the Jersey chicken and Jerk Mac and Cheese pie were seriously good and the Chocolate and Orange cake was every bit as good as it looks.
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive making sure we were always topped up with drinks & the waiting time in between courses was pretty good.
We loved the decor and all in all this place is a real gem in a town full of good places to eat. Prices are very good too for the portion sizes.
Thank you for making our anniversary so special, we will 100% be back again.
s. a.It's a little bit hard to find the place because online you will find it "Caribbean DutchPot" and the actual name of the pub is "The Press".
We had happy hour cockteils on a Saturday and the waitress mixt our order with the table next to us. She didn't bring all cockteils together for everybody, and she forgot to bring two of them.
The food and drinks take long to arrive.The food was not authentic tasting, and that was disappointing.
Friendly staff, chilled atmosphere, but must be careful when serving customers.
When we asked for the bill, we noticed that they forgot to add the last cocktails ordered. I told the waiter and she immediately changed the bill.
It was obvious that she was overwhelmed, and ironically, the place was not crowded.
P. V.We love this place, nice vibe with great cocktails and really delicious food. Highly recommended is the curried goat and both the aubergine mains. I never knew aubergine could be so tasty. It’s a chilled place, so kick back, have another cocktail and chill until your delicious dinner arrives. It is worth waiting for.

The portions however are a little smaller than I'm use to for a Caribbean dish but doesn't alter my experience.

S. C.It was super exciting to see a well known takeaway become a restaurant so me and my family went last night to sit in. We already knew the food was going to be great and the front of house service was good. The issue was the timing. It took an hour for our starters to come out and then a further hour if not more for our mains. The starters were delicious so we were happy to wait but we were about to leave just before our mains because we could not take the wait. With it being a week day, having a late meal like that did take away from now nice the food was. I already know the issue is the chefs in the back and this will be the cause if the place has a down fall. We overheard the waitress stating to another table that they were waiting for four tables of food to come out first and then their food would be ready. We made the assumption that the chef is clearly cooking one table at a time which is never going to work. We witness 4 tables of people leave, and it’s such a shame because even with discounts our meal came to £96. Just think of how much money was lost. The place is great. The decor is fab and the front of house staff are amazing but the timing of the food coming out is a huge problem. People unfortunately won’t return when they’ve had bad service and it’s a shame because your food and atmosphere is great! My mum suggested to the owners that a buffet option would be so much easier and so much quicker. It’s great and we will return because we’re excited to enjoy a sunny day there in the garden. The issue that I’m dreading is, how long would the wait be for the food if it was a sunny day and super busy? Last night wasn’t too busy and it caused tension having to wait that long. Just wanted to give some constructive feedback as you have so much potential!
D. N.Came for my husband's birthday along with his brother and wife. We live in Cheshire and they live in Cambridge and it was worth the 2 hour drive. Excellent food and service. Friendly staff who made sure we were happy. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough and wish them all the best. Also adhered to the lockdown rules with lots of sanitizer and staff thoughtful to ensure rules are observed.

Felt it was a little bit expensive (for example, when compared to Turtle Bay). The mains could be ~£3 each less .
Alternatively, they can offer a discount on a couple of weekdays and for collection orders.
Would definitely go again but probably not as often as I'd like due to the price.

The drinks were reasonablely priced and delicious, not watered down.
The presentation of food was 1st class. I highly recommend the dumplings! Goat fell off the bone, Chicken breast has the jerk flavour but wasnt dry at all. All food was well seasoned and portions were justright.
The added extra was the Reggae Christmas carols. It was a wonderful touch and lovely to see the staff taking part too.
To note: this is not a slap dash random caribbean restaurant where food is just warmed up on request, this is obvious in the price. It is a bit pricer than other establishment of its type but considering the location in the Midlands and its uniqueness for that, it was worth every penny.

S.We went as a family to a Caribbean Restaurant in Northamapton. The place and garden was great with the music and atmosphere. Staff was friendly but the food was awesome. Presentation mad. Only thing, waiting time needs to be improved for food and service. The management team apologies and explained as they're a new restaurant and the new government scheme has brought an unpredictable crowd of customer's.
I honestly think theres a lot of potential and once they get the waiting time sorted, their going to be flying. It was worth the wait so deffo be back again.
Oh and the cocktails were awesome.

The food was lovely.Big portions, really tasty.Boneless curry goat was cooked to perfection aswell as the meat being really big chunks.My children loved the fish and everything else we ordered.We also had fritters,festival,dumplings,plantain, rice and peas,steamed veg and coleslaw.Would definantly do the drive to Northampton to buy food from DutchPot again....Well done to the owner and family of DutchPot.see you soon.x

I love Caribbean food anyway but it was awesome to learn all the cooking techniques and what goes into the traditional recipes (such as Saltfish and Ackee), as well as learn about the history of the various dishes. Had a great time and LOVED the food! For great traditional Caribbean food, this is the place!
