Reviews of Miller & Carter Northampton

I visited Miller and Carter on Saturday night for the first time with my partner and can say I was blown away!
We were out for a date night and the setting was perfect.
It was very busy, we booked in advance and arrived early to have a drink. The cocktails were delicious! Our table wasn't ready on time so we waited at the bar and the hostess came to us (despite seeing many faces throughout the evening) to tell us our table was ready rather than expecting us to keep approaching the desk which was lovely.
The food was absolutely incredible!! I ordered the scallops to start (no photo as I couldn't keep my knife and fork down long enough) and then the surf and turf fillet steak. As a fussy steak eater I can say it really was cooked to perfection! No negatives here.
All in all a wonderful date night with exceptional speedy service and great atmosphere! 10/10

First time we've been here. Lovely setting for a summers evening with a big outdoor space. Inside was clean and tidy. Well staffed and our reservation was on time. Expect to pay £10 for two drinks and I've added picture for much of the main menu prices. It was definitely high quality but a two course meal for two with four drinks (two were soft drinks) £100. It was a nice experience but the price would mean only for another special occasion to return.

Our first time eating at Miller & Carter, I'd read the reviews and heard some good things about the food which I was looking forward to. This was a treat from my Husband as it was my birthday...we took our two teenage Daughters with us to have dinner as a family. We ran a little late but we called through to confirm ok to still come. Our table was booked for 6.15pm...we got there about 6.30pm. We we're greeted and seated straight away. It wasn't overly busy, but steady I'd say. We had our waitress come over shortly after and gave us the menu's...there was a set Valentine's menu and a normal menu. We ordered drinks first, but needed a few minutes to decide on the food. We decided on the set menu, which was £30pp, which went up to £40pp as we ordered two share platters of meat. The food was beautiful....we had starters(x3) of chicken wings and I had the calamari. We had two sharing platters which came with chips, an onion loaf and an iceberg lettuce wedge with sauce and bacon on the wedge. The food was cooked beautifully. We all polished off our meat, but I was getting too full to finish my chips. Although the food was beautiful, the service we received was slow compared to other customers...I could see we were the only family in our area, all around us were couples. Who managed to come in after us and got served quicker than us and was able to leave alot sooner. I ordered another drink which took them more than 20 minutes to come out. We were there two and a half hours before we even got our desserts in the end. There was only two options left as they had ran out of everything else...they had the chocolate brownie or the sticky toffee pudding left. We all had the warm brownie, three with chocolate ice cream and I had mine with caramel ice cream I believe....the brownies were lovely, although our ice cream was already half melted when they brought the desserts out to us. All in all, the food was beautiful but the service was not five star as I had been lead to believe. In my opinion, if your charging prices like this, you need to be giving five star service. Photo's attached to show our food. Please note this is my opinion and my experience only.

Me and my husband have visited M&C multiple times and the experience has always been a pleasant one.
Today we visited again and the experience was the very TOP one. Our waitress was Alexandra and she went above and beyond to make us feel very welcomed. Her good attitude, good knowledge of the menu, charisma and conversational skills are outstanding!!!All this service to be put next to the food which has been as always very good, tasted fresh and simply DELICIOUS!
We will definitely keep visiting the place as it never disappoints!
Thank you Alexandra, thank you Chefs and thank you team!

We went for our Valentines day, celebrated a couple of days earlier.
The food was lovely as always, we both had a starter, 1 was Chicken wings with dip and the other was mushrooms baked in cheese with ciabetta bread, that was absolutely gorgeous.
And then a wedge of Lettuce.
For main we both had Rump steak with chips. Done perfectly.
Staff were very nice and friendly.
It was a perfect night out.

Went for an impromptu dinner, and happy to report that yet again Miller and Carter has not failed to satisfy and impress our steak craving. Wife and I shared the chef platter, and it was cooked to perfection. Some of the best ribeye and fillet we've had in a very long time. Staff are always polite and very efficient.
J.
Really enjoyable dinner. We all had the steak experience and we all got different steaks, it was nice. The side salad was pretty bland. We did also get starters that weren’t too bad. Think the Thursday deal is worth it if you’re not too full!

This Miller and Carter is a very very good steakhouse. We visited on Mother’s Day and the food was delicious. The food came hot and without to much of a wait. It’s not the cheapest of restaurants but it very much worth it. I would very much recommend this restaurant
C. H.
Great birthday meal for the family. Great staff, very friendly but not intrusive.
There were a few things that weren’t available from the menu but we live in challenging times. Just gives us an excuse to go back try what we missed.
F. D.
The food was amazing and great quality service! Our server Ilayda was so lovely, went above and beyond and was really wonderful! Would recommend to anyone we had a lovely time here.
L. H.
Never disappointed!! Haven't visited Muller and Carter for a number of years and this was the perfect end to our spa day in Northampton!
Nice friendly service and food cooked to perfection great value especially the sharing platers can't wait to return again soon!!
A. P.
This was my first time here, and it was very good. All the food was really tasty and amazing. The steak in particular was cooked to perfection, and the service was exceptional! I would highly recommend this place - would definitely come back again.
S. G.
Service was fantastic, our waiter Ben was very attentive. He was knowledgeable about the menu which was a great help as it was our first time.
We went out as a couple but I wouldn't hesitate to take our children as it had a lovely atmosphere.
It seemed as though they were trying to separate the couples from family groups which was a nice touch. Although not something that was an issue for us.
Fantastic place, service and food. Would recommend and definitely revisit.
A. S.
My wife and I had a fantastic night out here. The food was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed. I must give special recognition to our waiter for the night, Michael. He was hands down the best waiter I've had at any restaurant, managing to be incredibly helpful and attentive whilst not becoming overbearing or pushy. Truly exceptional service and top quality food, what more could you ask for!
a.
Loved the atmosphere, good quality food, friendly servers. Loved that you could see into the kitchen. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Defo gonna be trying the branch in Leicester. I had fried hallumi, roasted lamb with ratatouille/potato dauphinoise. Wasn't keen on the smell and taste of the bordelaise sauce and wish there was more of the ratatouille sauce coz it was delish.
Z. G.
I didn’t get their names but we had a young man serving us and the manager assisted. They were both great.
Lovely night! Clean, warm and welcoming. We were a large party of 12 and we were all equally happy with the service and fun. A lovely night for mine and my sisters birthday :)
C. M.
Very happy with the service. Grace the waitress was superb, gave a true service with a smile. The steak was amazing cooked to perfection 😋 👌
D. P.
Great meal - butcher's block was an excellent steak sharing meal for two, and well worth the price.
R. H.
The atmosphere when we walked in was great and the food matched that level of greatness and surpassed it. The portion sizes of the food isn’t too big so that you overeat, and isn’t too small so it’s a good sized portion. The quality of food matched the price for it and would definitely recommend this to anybody who would be asking about going here. The desserts were also extremely good and the whole meal was spectacularly presented.
P. K.
I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to spend lush, pleasant time with their love ones. Ideal place for first date. From very first minute this restaurant made very good impression.
We have had 4 steaks which are the best ones I have ever had. They were served with half of iceberg - very interesting idea of serve, fries as a side and sauce.
Drinks were tasty and really nice served. All staff were really welcomed and very polite.
All the people adhered to COVID measurements.
If you wish to eat best steaks in Northampton you need to visit Miller Carter. Remember to book in advance as they really busy over weekend.
L. P.
Everything was absolutely fine and nice. The lunch was very very delicious. And the staff are so kind. Thank you 😊
L. H.
We can walk to the Northampton Miller and Carter from home which is a bonus but the last two visits have been pretty disappointing so we most likely won’t again. Both times we have walked in not to be greeted by the grumpy looking male at the desk but instead ignored. It’s fine we understand you are busy and probably a little short staffed but a smile or some kind of acknowledgement takes no time and goes a long way to making your customers feel warm and reassured that you know that they are there and will be attended to shortly. Out waitress was welcoming but lacked knowledge about either the drinks or the food menu, maybe through lack of training. Her very friendly demeanour and honesty however makes up for what she lacked in knowledge. Drinks were delivered quickly and as ordered. Both visits I ordered the fillet steak (medium) and both visits it was cooked well but flat, hard work to chew and even harder to swallow. The chips and lettuce wedge were good as was the yummy onion loaf. I gave up with the fillet after eating about 50% of it and didn’t even bother taking it home for the dog as I believe he would genuinely have struggled with it too. We’re not real foodies but the fillet here is not of the quality we would expect for a restaurant claiming to be a steak house, we did pass this feedback to our waitress. Final point from us, moaning openly about your staff to other colleagues at the front desk isn’t great either, a conversation for somewhere else maybe ? Sorry guys but it just wasn’t a good experience which is a shame.
K. G.
Excellent value for money, food well presented and very tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. Soft drinks a little pricey but most are no matter where you go, wouldn't let that put you off everything else was excellent, would highly recommend
J. W.
Lovely atmosphere real friendly staff and delicious food. Felt very welcome and it was warm and inviting.
L. H.
My first time here, and with this company. The staff were pleasant, attentive without being overpowering. The food order was delivered within good time and was off a good standard. Delicious, in fact! The menus option we chose was good value too! I will return! 😃
C. V.
Katie P was attentive, friendly and happy to accommodate our requests, even giving us some extra time between courses as we had large main courses but still wanted dessert!
Her service was excellent and made our experience very enjoyable. The cocktails also tasted amazing, highly recommend the french martini!
S. O.
The service was excellent. The waitress was very knowledgeable in informing about the preparation of the meals. The food was fine but did not justify the price. Have had better for less.
d. r. b.
Was a great meal food was lovely and the waiter that served us was really nice and helpful
T. S.
We went as a group of 5. We went with a child that has behavioural difficulties, so we asked to sit out the way and was refused. The restaurant was empty so I then asked if we could sit at the back on a large table again I was refused again. We took the seat we where told and decided to leave as we weren't comfortable. However it seemed as if by luck a lovely waitress (Lisa) came over asked if we were happy. I replied and explained and she said she can help no problem. Sat us on a larger table out the way. She then provided an excellent service and guided us on best foods to choose and drinks. Her service and advice was excellent and I hope Millers learn from her and customer service skills.
We had one meal that wasn't up to standard which we recieved a refund for.
Well done Lisa for saving our Sunday but also an awful review.

Our server Ben was fantastic, couldn’t fault him at all. The sharing platter we had for our main was delicious and cooked just how we requested. As a gm and a head chef visiting for a rare night off together, honestly couldn’t have asked for more from Ben. Thanks for making it a lovely night out.
H. W.
A lovely atmosphere when we walked in, taken to the table which could accommodate the wheelchair user in the party.
Prompt service from the waitress who was very polite and competent with dietary requirements. Food and drinks were delicious and arrived without any delay.
J. M.
Brilliant service brilliant food. Definitely recommend this place. Will be going back when I'm down in Northampton again
D. D.
The server (Jamie) was helpful and patient in explaining the various options etc. Service was really good.
However, my one point would be that the last 4 visits to this M&C, we have been placed in the same seating - the same two tables next to each other (on the left immediately upon walking into the restaurant). Your staff were happy to move us when I mentioned it but my father didn't want to make a fuss. It's no big deal, it's just a little odd we always end up in the same place!
Otherwise, a great experience as always!
F. J.
Visited today for father's day with my husband, our two girls and my father in law.
Our waitress was lovely and genuinely really friendly and helpful and it was refreshing to have some really good service which is often lacking. On our mains being brought out she came back with some extra chips for my husband as she'd noticed his portion looked a little small. My father in law complained thay his steak was chewy and undercooked and the manager quickly came out and spoke to him and offered him a free dessert (so of course he chose for the chocolate gateau for two and ate the lot 🐷).
Overall a really lovely meal with issues resolved quickly.

I love Miller and Carter. I love the luxury feel of the place. I had lunch and it was good. However you really need to get rid of that apple pie you served at lunch. It was the pastry was rubbery and tasted awful. The apple filling was good. That apple pie pulls down your standard.
K. S.
Had a meal this evening and Lottie who served us was excellent and apologised for the covid which made us laugh! When we arrived we hadn’t booked but there was no problem, we were shown to the bar where the newest member of the team immediately said she would do her best but she was still training,,
It was no problem at all, myself and the other 3 members of my party all know how to serve a drink so said we would help! Charlotte was excellent and should be helped as she has so much potential. A very lovely young lady ! A smile goes ever such a long way. Thank you for a lovely evening
E. L.
We was firstly greeted by a few very attenetive members of the team, I felt like a celeb!
We was given a lovely big table so plenty of space for the 7 of us.
Then we met Mike and my goodness, what an asset he is to the business. He is incredible. Knows his job inside out. He made the experince even better. Despite many tables to run he kept on top of his game, giving every table the same level. Making every table feel special. It takes a very special person not to drop the ball.

Lovely birthday meal with my family, very nice waiter and atmosphere. Certainly go again
C. L.
The best place for a quality steak, always perfectly cooked and good quality meat.
Top marks to the service too, very friendly.
K. H.
Get the feeling that they are working the wrinkles out of their service etc. Polite staff. Our group felt food was average but pricey in comparison for what it was. Gluten intolerance was acknowledged and dealt with sensitively.

Visited on Sunday to celebrate a special occasion. Food was really very lovely, Dan (our server) was very nice, decor was also nice and inviting.
3 points of improvement:
- We ordered a second round of drinks (just 1 beer and some water) and it was sitting on the side whilst multiple staff who weren't doing anything looked at them and walked past so we ended up going to pick them up and bring them back to the table ourselves.
- Air con was a bit strong and we were very chilly (although we recognise we could have possibly asked to have this turned down, we just didn't want to be a nuisance)
- Service by all was far too formal. We recognise it's a slightly finer establishment however the formalities make it stuffy and lose personality.
All in all though we had a fantastic time. We would certainly love to revisit and hopefully have a 5* experience next time.

A family get together my dear mothers 86 bithday so there was quite a few if us . We had to wait quite a bit for the mains due to the amount of orders but l can honestly say that the food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meal all the dishes were brought at the same time and hot which is an achievement and most of us had chosen from the lunch time menu which is very good value and no drop in quality or creativity from the chef's so well done to all the staff for making our family get together one that l will remember with pure satisfaction.
Thanks very much to all at Miller and Carter

Recently attended for a meal with friends and our kids. Food was good but service a bit lacking at times. The coffee machine was broken so they offered us filter coffee which was the weaker coffee I've ever seen and more like tea.
They also add a service charge for groups of 8+ but we're happy to remove on request (as I didn't feel it was warranted).
R. S. B.
An excellent lunch here, mostly from the fixed price menu, but some a la carte items too. Server shared her experiences of some meals and was ver efficient and friendly. Good time had by all. Tip: go for the steak & chips on the fixed price menu, very tasty.
L. T.
I love this place! The atmosphere, the decor, the staff, the service, the cocktails, the food... Everything was amazing. I've been a few times before and will continue to go back. Loved it!
V. B.
Second time we have been, and both were great experiences, our server Michael knew his steaks and what to recommend, food was amazing. The price is a tad more expensive than other restaurants but well worth it.
M. W.
Environment was pleasant and inviting, the server was very pleasant and wished to help and explain the menu and options. Drinks were served promptly and a machiatto was a proper machiatto not a latte 😁. We went for a butchers block to share and would highly recommend if you want to have meet sweats 😊. Joking aside is a good value meat selection to share different cuts.
Only complaint were the toilets were filthy and needed some attention but only because of a number of males deciding that they didn't need to consider the next user. My son said they were clean when he went up later so maybe was unfortunate timing.
Would def reccomend to go, prices are higher side for Northampton but well cooked and flavourful.
G. E. C.
Me and my mum and grandad came here for mother’s day, service was amazing.
Our waitress Kaira was absolutely amazing, she made mother’s day all that bit more special. Thank you so much Kaira, we had an amazing time 🥰
S. F.
Slow service, insufficient staff. Food reasonable and good value set lunch. Formulaic service...many many *no problem* and "You guys". Not how it used be, clearly suffering post covid.
K. C.
The atmosphere was really good and we were treated well. I will definitely be going back for that buttermilk chicken! No complaints at all👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Y. M.
Unfortunately there were problems with having a lot of items not available and this mean that our choice was very limited. This also extended to beer which was not available.
The staff handled the situation very well, and our server, Ciara, in particular was very good.
It was a pity that the manager did not offer some concession due to the problems.
J. C.
As usual our visit was great. Food was fabulous and very filling. Service was also great no problems to raise.

This was my first restaurant experience since lockdown, well excluding the odd pub meal, so was really looking forward to it. I must say the overall way they dealt with the social distance aspect of table spacing and service was excellent. However, as a top end steak house what was missing for me was the little aesthetics, like the table being laid out with a crisp white tablecloth and sparkling glass wear etc. Again I am sure this is connected to the lift out of lockdown but it does turn a high priced restaurant into the pub dining look, which takes the edge of especially when there for a birthday celebration.
However, onto the food, knowing how good the steaks are, in fact Miller and Carter were awarded the “Masters of Steak Award” from the craft guild of chefs I decided to go for a beast of a steak rather than have a starter.
20oz T-Bone £30.95
One side a tender fillet, on the other a flavoursome sirloin. Mine was cooked beautifully medium rare as requested, mostly pink with a hint of red and well rested so no blood oozing onto the plate. I had to go for the British Beef Dripping sauce on the side which I can only say was stunning and full of rich flavours. I do love the “wedge dressing” a huge chunk of crispy iceberg lettuce covered in your fav salad dressing I went for the long clawson Stilton and blue cheese. In addition to this a slice of the famous “onion loaf” is also included, I can only describe this as a lighter version of an onion Bhaji without the spices, but a great compliment to the dish.
Chocolate Hazelnut Bomb £7.95
Described as an indulgent rich chocolate Grenache encased in toasted hazelnuts and chocolate nibs served with pecan praline ice cream and zesty orange curd.
For me whilst it may look like an extra-large Ferrero Rocher but a little small for the price tag, it didn’t disappoint once cracked open it was indeed rich and indulgent and once combined with the berries balanced well. Would be a great desert to share fo chocolate lovers.
Rating: 4/5
Prices: ££££/ 5

I’ve been here 3 times with my family, the food is really good and the wait staff are friendly.
My only qualm is that the music is sometimes quite loud, but I’m still giving this restaurant a 5.
P. T.
Excellent service, food was great and didn't arrive too late. Cocktails could improve but overall very enjoyable.
J. C.
Lovely food as usual, was disappointed that the t-bone has been taken off the menu though. Our waiter Will was attentive and polite and assisted us with which cocktails to choose.
K. W.
Had the private room for my mother-in-laws 70th. Food was amazing as always. Staff were really nice.
B. P. P.
Always nice and tidy and the food is amazing. Yhe prices are a bit higher but you get quality food for it so ita definitely worth it.
E. C.
The steaks were awesome. Michael our waiter was awesome. Let down by the starters otherwise it would have been a higher score.
C. W.
First time here, I drive past a lot and think "we should try that place" so today we did. Initial impression was very good, the place has had a makeover when it was relaunched and they made a fantastic job of it. I felt a little underdressed as this isn't your average food pub, its fine dining, and it felt like we were treating ourselves a bit. Warmly greeted and shown to our table, Martina took good care if us throughout. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Food was to a very high standard, we shared a cheesy mushroom starter between us, I had chicken fillet burger and the missus had a peppercorn burger without the peppercorn (which was no problem). Prices not too bad, going by the reviews I was expecting worse. Nice comfortable surroundings, all things considered our visit was a positive one. Although we are not short of places to dine in and around Northampton I think we will make a point of visiting here again soon. Travel Lodge right next door so I will probably book my parents in next visit too!

I came with my Fiancée Karen and had a lovely romantic meal with her the day after we got engaged.
We had the Buttermilk chicken and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. There was no fault with that.
For pudding, we had the Sticky Toffee pudding which was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS too.
We had 2 non alcoholic drinks which were lovely and at the end, we finished of with having a latte coffee which was lovely too, but there was just 1 little niggly thing about that and that was the size of the spoon when you sturred the coffee. The spoon handle was not long enough for those glass latte cups. That was all. You will have to sort that problem out. I was told by the waiter called Michael that we were the second people to mention about that and that he would mention this to the manager.
Other than that, we were very happy and pleased with the food and service.
N. S.
Food was beautiful as were the staff. It was lovely. I will definitely return
J. C.
One of the meals was wrong the onion loaf was over cooked and rock hard i still don't get why a wedge? A small side salad would be better
C. H.
I found the place to be very clean and friendly and a warm welcome upon arrival. We had a table booked for 7 and one dropped out. The waitress was exceptional and complemented the whole experience.
The food was really well done and cooked to how you ordered. I had the 8oz and it was like butter to cut on med rare.
The wait between sets was a little bit more than I would have liked, but it allowed each course to settle before the next.
Overall I had a amazing experience and would definitely go again.
T. J.
Fantastic menu including very reasonable 2 or 3 course set menu.
Our starters were delicious, our steaks (we both had the 50 day aged Angus Ribeye with an amazing beef dripping sauce) were cooked exactly as we asked, absolutely mouthwatering. I had sweet potato fries and an extra portion of the delicious onion loaf then finished the evening off with a fantastic apple & rhubarb crumble.
The service was excellent and we'd like to say a particularly big thank you to Oliver.
All in all a fantastic evening.
Highly recommended.
M. C.
Lovely staff,prompt service,food piping hot & tasted & presented nicely.Toilets were a bit unclean & no vanilla icecream,custard or cream so that's why 4 stars.Would recommended
C. G.
The staff are fantastic very helpful and after 2 course we changed to a lighter desert with out any problems.. lovely place very clean nice atmosphere. just brilliant had a great night out

We took my partner's parents out to celebrate their wedding anniversary and our expectations were exceeded!
First time I've had my steak cooked perfectly. We all enjoyed our meals - credit to the chef.
Brilliant service, the young girl that served us was attentive and patient with us.
Great restaurant
C. E.
Absolutely love it here. Amazing food, classy environment. Have to always chuckle at the 'complimentary lettuce wedge' that comes with steaks. Basically between four people you get a lettuce with a drizzle of sauce on each quarter in a wooden bowl 😂👌
E. B.
Amazing meal here for a work celebration. Food was perfect, drinks were really good and the staff were friendly and even though we were a large group, everything was well organised and went really smoothly. Would love to go back here for another special occasion sometime soon.
I. P.
A lovely restaurant with some very sumptuous and tasty food, staff were amazing and the service could not have been any better. The cost was a lot lower thanks to using the gift card that was given as a present plus the 10% NHS discount that they still have running. Thank you
B. B.
Beautiful location, great service, incredible food. I chose the 20 oz T-Bone! It was VERY good with beef dripping sauce 🥩
A. D.
Absolutely brilliant the food was excellent and everything was delicious and as ordered everyone who ate steak was cooked to perfection our server Katie P was superb and nothing was too much trouble for her certainly gets a gold star from our party of 7 people can't wait to go again.

Went on a Tuesday night for my partner's birthday, the venue was spread out well with a good atmosphere. A special thanks to our server Kaira who made us feel welcome and provided excellent service with a smile throughout the whole evening.
Bonus points for the virign Mojitos

We enjoyed an excellent lunch with friends. The welcome and service were genuine and made us feel important. Great food and very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

The best steak house in the town. The service is really awesome. Must try this place.
But far from town centre get a taxi which is best.
M. B.
Great Quality and beautiful surroundings. Was warm and very welcoming. Staff are amazing, food was great... Big portion sizes.
C. M.
Everything thing was great, we asked for a different table due to my mothers reduced mobility and we were accommodated straight away. Service and food were fab.

It is a beautiful restaurant but a little pricey went there to celebrate my birthday with family
Wheelchair friendly

Had a lovely meal at Miller and Carter Northampton last night. The food was great and our waiter Michael R. was very polite and professional. Based on my experience last night, I would highly recommend.

Lovely decor Nice welcoming place, where the service is good , steaks excellent food in general an 8 from me thats impressive!
R. C.
Superb evening, food was cooled perfectly, service was excellent also, would definitely recommend and go again.
D. H.
It was ok as a restaurant. Staff were friendly and the steak cooked to my liking. I thought it was fairly busy considering the distancing restrictions in place.
A. B.
After arriving 15 minutes early a very polite manager invited us to wait in the bar area , avoid this as you can not get served due to the time it takes to make cocktails, probably better of with a separate area .
Eventually seated , waiter very polite and with a sense of humour.
Wife had scallops which she liked I choose hand cut nachos which i didn't really like, not crunchy just soft and bland .
Mains wife had rump steak only because of her experience with the amount of fat on her rib eye ( another establishment) however she still had a reasonable amount of fat gristle which suprise me going on the menu about steak collage ect .
I had the beef and reef burger with jalapenos and onion loaf, LOVED IT and the onion loaf wow I could eat that all week .
Overall food was ok service and staff very good except the bar area.
Plus like to thank the waitress with the slight Birmingham accent who was looking after the function room , very helpful and funny .
T. C.
Very good quality meat, cooked however you want. Nice selection of sides. The restaurant itself is very big but the interior design makes it feel cosy. Can accommodate dinner for two, group dinners and there is also a private dining area. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of parking.
H. M.
The food was lovely, the service by Michael was fantastic and the environment is very pleasant! Good job!
S. W.
Excellent service, excellent quality of the food, excellent selection of drinks.
Did I mention that it was excellent? 😉
S. D.
First Time visiting here on a Saturday Day Date. Amazing food and service received. Thank you
C. J.
Was amazing from start to finish, shame can't remember the waitress name she was a lovely lady and very patient and helpful. We shall be back again.
L. A.
Family were there on Sunday to celebrate our granddaughters birthday, the staff were friendly & food was delicious.
N. V.
Good food friendly staff, also
Have a lunch menu that’s good value
N. H.
Food was lovely.
Restaurant is very nice, lovely atmosphere
A. D.
Great atmosphere, lovely surroundings only thing to improve on was more air conditioning
D. W.
I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality. Prawn/crayfish cocktail lacked much meat, but was lovely. Steak, perfect. Side of lobster also perfect, which i didn't expect; sweet and fresh, small lobster tails. Service good also. Kitty 😺 👍
C. P.
Not as good as normal. The service is normally on the slow side but the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately the slowness was still there but the rest wasn't. There used to be a scheme whereby the staff gave you their name and encouraged you to ask for their tables next time, not this time. I have medical reasons for eating gluten free and it's never been an issue before however this time the waiter was clueless and muddled it with a dairy allergy and forgot to bring the allergy list until he was inputting the choice. My son ordered a burger without tomato - none obviously, however the bun was peppered with tomato seeds...The steak was slightly tougher than expected and portion size had dropped eg size of lettuce wedge. No cutlery replacement between courses. However the food was still good and I would come again though perhaps not a third time if this was repeated. The table was not wiped down during courses so the dessert menu ended up covered in blood. And finally the dessert menu - previously a gluten free haven but now only a creme brulee as a mini dessert. I didn't have the energy having had to ask for the allergy list a second time to query whether the others could be amended and settled for a coffee.

I'll keep it simple. Steak, side dishes full of flavours, nicely served and lady who served us very helpful, chatty and yet very professional. Great experience and surely we'll come back again.
O. W.
I went to have lunch with friend. It was very nice inside and orders was delivered quickly.
S. H.
Excellent steak. I had a T bone and it was cooked perfectly. Had lobster tail on top which was amazing.
It was incredibly busy the night we went but the staff were still very helpful and attentive.
It was very expensive but I believe it was worth it for the cuts we chose and the quality of them.
C. C.
Good atmosphere, good service. Food was as expected, tho the buttermilk chicken was a bit 'wet'.. Still a good night out. Does get busy so best to book in advance.
S. H.
Staff were pleasant. Meals lovely quick service. Only down side was some one before had wiped their meaty dirty hands under the table went all over my trousers. I told one of the staff and they gave it a good wipe.
T. P.
Service was good, attentive young man who looked after us well. Food was average, steaks ok but not amazing "Steakhouse" food. Didnt get the quarter lump of lettuce in a bowl on the with sauce on it, we didn't eat ours. Sirloin was fatty - over fatty for a sirloin, deserts were good. Mixed bag really.
A. H.
Outstanding food and service, wouldn't go in the eve anymore as it's just too busy but lunchtime simply perfect !!
C. B.
We had a lovely evening. Food delicious and all served professionally by our Waiter Michael. Thank you. The 50 day old Black Angus stakes are well recommended. Delicious!
H. L.
Good food as always, friendly team, must book during weekdays as they only open a section of the restaurant
T. 3.
Best long island iced tea i ever drink my best btw. ;) highly recommended full rack of ribs or just half ;) it is on my list best places to be before end :) i will be there again for sure maybe not so far in time who knows fingers crossed will taste like last time ;)
L. H.
We were warmly greeted and shown to a table by the window, which we requested. The waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable. She took our order for drinks and left us to peruse the menu. After a while she took our order for food, we were not given the lunch time menu, so the waitress quickly, got the menus and food was ordered. A very nice meal and experience was had.
C. D.
Expensive, nice setting, slightly slow service, food ok nothing special
n. r.
Been twice, the food is amazing & the service & surroundings are first class well worth the money.
A. K.
Great food, great service! Would rather pay 30 quid for a 20oz steak than 20 quid for a mediocre meal that some of these chain restaurants produce
M. P.
What an excellent meal, well cooked, well presented, staff where excellent, great surroundings and tables separated enough to be able to hold a conversation, went there hungry, coming away very FULL *****
M. “.
Good surroundings, friendly staff, great food. Had a wonderful time with family celebrating a recent event, would not hesitate to go there again.
R. N.
Better than Kettering, 99% of the time you actually get a booking that day normally anytime. Parking is easy building is clean staff are pretty helpful you don't get left wanting a drink etc.
Food is normally on point as well even when busy.
All n all a good dining experience
R. M.
Great place to eat. Steak was awesome. Looked after by Michael, very informative and very helpful. Definitely booking again soon went today, 18th November for festive lunch, it was ok, long wait for service, unfortunately you could not offer Christmas pudding for some reason, a festive menu is not complete without it, sorry. You weren't up to it today.
D. D.
My first time at a Miller and Carter. Very impressive menu and service. I will definitely be returning.
L. C.
What a lovely evening meal! The food was great but what was even better was the service we received from the professional and attentive Sam! He was absolutely outstanding with how he treated us - not interrupting but making sure we had everything we needed! Thank you Sam for being so brilliant!
L. W.
Lovely restaurant, clean and well presented. Staff were friendly and approachable. The food was excellent, steak cooked to perfection with plenty of sides to fill you up. Would highly recommend.
m. m.
Love Miller and carter and every visit is good. Went for lunch tried smething different that was not steak and went for the chicken schnitzel..really tasty and well seasoned and the sweet potato fries were amazing. The portion size was huge only had the main and couldnt finish it. Would deffo come back again.
S. B.
Service was first class, polite & professional but not pretentious.
a. h.
Fabulous food. Best Steak I have had in a long time
P. S.
Service and food excellent. Provision of Toothpicks would be helpful
C.
Been here a few times, everytime the service is great and the food is great!
M. B.
Good place for a fine burger. The service was very good. Pricing was reasonable (£13-17 for a burger). However, the choice of beer was limited. Additionally, would love if chef's wouldnt be afraid to spice food even more or to at least have more spicy options in the menu.
C.
The menu keeps changing was upset that you took the scollops was of the menu they tasted so good
Z. O.
Friendly staff and a clean cozy restaurant.
The food taste really good and comes out in a reasonable time.
A bit pricy for me to be a regular that's why it's only 4* but would go back for special occasions.
Highly recommended it.
A. C.
Excellent food and service. Although the restaurant wasn't that warm we still had a lovely time celebrating my son's 40th birthday.
L. T.
Amazing food and service. Made to feel very special on our anniversary.
A. M.
Amazing... as always. If you're new to stakes, the staff will walk you through the experience making sure you get exactly what you'll enjoy the most. If you already know what you like, they will prepare it exactly right. And if stakd is not your thing other options ar just as delicious... so something for everyone. Pure perfection.
G. L.
Food was OK was expecting something better I mean who actually wants a quarter of a slice of a full lettuce with 5 small slices of cheese? Staff were fine apart from a staff member coming out telling me I can't smoke here while just calling for a taxi even though I don't smoke. Not impressed
M. K.
Second time we visited this specific MC restaurant only this time we left pretty disappointed. We ordered the 50yr old steak which was amazing indeed, and the creme brulee too. But here's what we didn't like:
The chunky chips that you also pay £1 extra from the £32 steak, we're horrendous for a restaurant like this. Proper frozen and tasted like carton.
The massive wedge of lettuce is there to justify the price? Because there's no other point for it and it's very hard to cut in a tiny bowl.
BUT the worst thing was that while we were still eating our starter and still had a few pieces left in the plate, a waitress came to bring another plate and in a hurry grabbed the starter and left (!!!) without hesitating or even asking if we are done with that. And it is a dish that costs £8.
When we mentioned that to our waiter he apologised and said "Dessert is on the house to compensate for that" so we thanked him, ordered a dessert, asked for the bill... And the dessert was still there, everything charged. Very disappointed.
P. S. I think also the managers should know that the waiter used a VERY inappropriate word when in conversation with a customer his age. Very inappropriate to say something like this while at work and also while people are eating.
D.
Worth every penny 10/10
A. S.
Service was second to none. The steak was nice but if I'm honest, not as good as other miller and carter places we've been to and we've been to a few.
That said, it was an enjoyable evening with excellent service. Will go again!
J. r.
Was very nice. Food was good. Staff was friendly and attentive.
A. W.
Nice food, bit pricey but friendly staff and nice place to eat
D. H.
Food ok ..mine was a bit rare for medium well done. I think it's expensive..almost London prices. Staff fine but the cost would make me think hard before returning.
A. A.
The food was stunning but what was even more stunning was the waitress Katie P she brought lots of light, heart and humour into our table not to mention the outstanding service she provided thank you so much for today
G. L.
Absolutely loved it. Food was excellent...the beef dripping sauce topped it off. Definitely be going again...
M. W.
Ok, staff were polite and friendly (although it was a little disconcerting when one crouched to take our order)
Starters arrived quickly and were ok, We both had grain fed Steak for main.
This is where things went down for me. The Steak was good, but not Wow! For the price it was over priced, the chips were extra for being chunky and the famed onion loaf was more like a biscuit.
We did have dessert and coffee which was plesent
The idea of the Steak House draws me in, the reality of Miller & Carter is some what different
W. S.
Good food, excellent service. Would go again
J. W.
Another superb meal. Great restaurant with friendly attentive staff
M. E.
A wonderful meal with family! OK, it's a little expensive but, my goodness, it is well worth the money! Fantastic food, fantastic staff and fantastic place.
K. P.
They have the best steak here what you can get in Northampton for sure😀 Prices are not the lowest but worth every penny
D. W.
Food is always good and staff friendly and helpful.
H. N.
Excellent service from waitress Daniella tonight, smiled, made conversation and was a perfect host, a compliment to M & C, thanks for making our anniversary a superb night. Worth every penny, food was fabulous service was even better, keep it up, we'll be back soon
T. H.
Amazing meal out, perfectly cooked steaks with loads of flavour.
N. S.
Great experience, great staff and fundamentally great food
D. S.
Expensive but great steaks and very clean with friendly staff.
C. C.
Food amazing, staff very attentive.
R. G.
Best restaurant I've been too for service and quality of food 5 stars to the waitress top notch service
T. C.
Beautiful grain fed sirloin, service could do with some work though.
A. J.
Nice restaurant vibe, well spaced out
Improve the starters which were disappointing
R. M.
Amazing food amazing staff amazing place to dine.
D. S.
Really good for business lunches at the moment. Miller and Carter's lunchtime menu is tasty and relatively cheap. Restaurant is smart, service is good and the food is very palatable indeed.
L. B.
Been a couple of times but this time we had steak. The ribeye was okay for the money but the New York Strip was not the best. Our server had the cost of that removed from the bill. The service was the very high and he was very attentive.
j. d.
My brother and myself went for lunch today 29/10, from the welcoming to the end was absolutely faultless, thank you Michael you was informative, knowledgeable, and extremely polite and helpful, the service was second to done,
The food Quality and quantity was amazing, atmosphere was just perfect
Thank you Miller and Carter you’ve got a great team of people in Northampton please tell them thank you
S. S.
Good meal, great menu choice for Valentines.
S. B.
This is our favourite place to eat, everything about the whole experience is great the food is amazing the staff are spot on....go there and discover it yourself.
J. W.
Went last night with my partner. Sat at our table. Was introduced to jessica who was our waitress for the night. She could have not been more helpful, so well done Jessica, u r a credit to your job. Lovely wine, ordered our food. I had the 16oz rib eye , peppercorn sauce and my partner had the 8oz rump with beef dripping sauce. the food was amazing, so delicious. We will definitely be returning here again soon. Well done 👍
J. F.
Lovely meal. Prompt professional service. The environment feels stylish and creates a classy feeling with a relaxed atmosphere. Food was extremely well presented and to a high standard.
T. B.
A good, not great, steak, fries good, rest so-so. Table not big enough and the aisle between tables not wide enough. The brand wishes to be considered upscale but the details need refining.
P. L.
Beautiful meal,brilliant service,attentive staff😊
n. l.
Nothing special after 2 years since we visited, service was good and waitress very polite menu was different and I was looking forward to steak and lobster? Ended up with ribs and slaw and fries couldn't see anything else I fancied.price was OK .
M. M.
Very good selection of food that was of a high quality even for those not eating steak.
Plenty of parking that was well lit. In own grounds off main road.
Escorted promptly to table with both the Steak Experience and COVID-19 measures explained well
Server was efficient and friendly with drinks and food arriving promptly for each course.
Only criticism is value for money. May be worth the extra price if you are a steak eater but may be go elsewhere if not.
G. R.
Amazing, not cheap but you get what you pay for.
Some real quality
S. L.
Just want to thank the lovely young waiter for a wonderful lunch with my elderly mother yesterday. I 'm sorry i did not get his name but he was slim with blonde hair.... We had not booked and he managed to find us a last minute table . His manner was friendly , professional and attentive . He is a credit to your company. Food was perfect too and we will no doubt return.
P. A.
Really nice food, good service
K. G.
Loved it fab restaurant lovely staff ...Good food only one small niggle...starter crab n large prawn cocktail wasn't very nice at all didn't taste of fish just bitter vinegar...everything else very enjoyable would definitely recommend and will definitely go again .
J. T.
We have been enjoying meals at this restaurant since it opened in 2016. The quality of the meals has always been of an excellent standard. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because during busy times there can be long waiting times for food and further drinks. The staff are helpful and attentive, but are often given too many tables to serve.
I. D.
Fantastic meat great staff lovely decor
D. “. B.
Very nice, expensive but worth it. Est £30 per head for steak and extras.
S. R.
Best place in town. Food is well worth the price. We were served by Daniel who was new but definitely did a brilliant job.
C. G.
Service was superb, food was great. 5 stars all day long, and a big shout out to Lisa who was our waitress.
D. P.
THE BEST STAKE EXPERIENCE, the staff amazingly helpful and nice prices
f. u.
First time going there. Steak was excellent, cooked just how I like it and was really tasty. My son had a rack of ribs that he devoured as if he's never been fed. My wife had a fire & spice burger and really enjoyed it.
The service was great - Bernard did a good job and his timing was just about perfect.
Cost was pretty good as well, at about £30 a each for 2 courses, 3 glasses of wine (I drank them all :) ), 2 cokes and 2 coffees.
The place was packed (Friday night), so I'm glad we booked well in advance.
Definitely be going again.
Update - 18/10/2019
Went again tonight with my wife and son. Another wonderful meal, the steaks were all excellent and service from Sarah was great as well.
A nice Friday night out :)
M. S.
We were a party of eight.
The staff were great and very professional.
The food was amazing. Great place for a celebration.
C. A.
We had a belated Birthday and Anniversary meal today. It was well worth the wait. This was our first experience with Miller and Carter, but will not be the last. Everything was great. Thank you for a lovely experience. :)
I. T.
Food is lovley however was so upset with the way me and my family where treated. We arrived without a booking hoping we could be seated. The manager told us they where fully booked for the entire evening and sent us away which was odd as online plenty of tables available. I was confused as we where dressed well and the only reason I could think of was maybe because we where a family of colour. We left went online and booked a table returned 20mins later and said we had a booking and was seated we did not mention to the manager that a few moments ago he said they where fully booked and couldn't seat us as we didnt want to cause a scene. But I was truly upset. The food was nice
L. B. (.
Best steak I've had in years, definitely worth a visit
K. N.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Stake is flavoursome. Mac n cheese is delicious. The establishment is clean and inviting also there is plenty of parking.
J. B. (. S.
Second visit. In all honesty I have had better! On arrival, it seemed we weren't booked in! but after showing my many confirmation emails and text messages we were quickly shown to a table. Saturday, It was busy staff worked tirelessly! but the service could have been quicker! (more staff required?!) Luckily we were quite early as the table next to us waited a long time for their drinks order! and finally the steak! we went for the expensive cut. I'm no expert, but I like my steak. and I have had much better!
M. D.
So glad I was able to visit Miller & Carter for the first time, and what an experience! Social distancing all in force but without any of the discomfort and very organic with a great layout across the many spaces in the restaurant.
Fantastic service with american style introductions from both the welcome desk and our server, who was always attentive but never too-present; a great balance and really appreciated the up beat/ smiley service.
Super menu choices reigned even in these uncertain times with so many restaurants having to offer severely limited choices, and this extended to the great wine list with a solid Amarone and a great few choices for the beer enjoying non-alcoholics too.
So nice to still have a rare feeling of the buzz of atmosphere in the place, and if it's a sign of the 'new way' of dining, then I'm glad Miller & Carter remain at the forefront of the experience.
A. L.
Previously had great experience but this time 2 of the 4 meals were not good. The burger was lovely, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. 1 of the 3 steaks was cooked well but the other 2 weren't - 1 was ordered medium well done and came out rate and the other was ordered medium but came out medium rare. Also excuse made to the pre-pallet size lettuce as one was ridiculously small "that's the way the chef prepares it" was the response, well go and tell the chef his portion sizes are wrong! Terrible excuse. Real shame as wouldn't go back here again when 1/2 of the meals were not cooked properly.
S. C.
Came for the first time after hearing excellent reviews. However, I was a bit disappointed. The steaks were average, lacking flavour and seasoning. One steak was made well done when it was ordered as medium rare (this was rectified quickly). Lobster was really good and so was the service. Overall, a mediocre meal.
T. B.
Great service, the food was delicious. I like my steak well done, so in some places to have it like that it is tough. This steak, although well done was still juicy and tender. Never had onion loaf, but it was so good. Definitely go again.
M. d. c.
Nice decor & surroundings. Food & service were very good. My steak was very good indeed & a great price if you order from their fixed price set menu one Sunday. Definitely worth a visit or two.
A. S.
Excellent meal and service. Made extra special when my father received his dessert!
R. C.
Love it, have only been twice but it's a nice upmarket restaurant, with a great atmosphere. My partner and me like a quiet restaurant where we can hear one another talk and this suits perfectly, seating not too close together, and the staff are some of the best I've come across for a while. Very knowledgeable and helpful. The food really is BEAUTIFUL, and the cocktails are lovely too. Were both excited to keep coming back until we've been through the menu!
J. B.
Had an amazing dinner tonight. Perfectly cooked chateaubriand followed by excellent espresso tiramisu - the duck parfait starter was also delicious. This was accompanied by Oyster Bay Merlot - perfect! Haven’t always had the best experience at M & C but couldn’t fault tonight’s meal..and of course must mention the excellent service from the friendly team - thank you
C. I.
Excellent place. Amazing ambience. Not cheap, but you get amazing service and steak! Big cheers to Sam.
A. R.
In my opinion one of the best cuisine in Northampton.
M. B.
We had a wonderfully attentive waitress who made our experience a breeze! All the food was amazing, we had a lovely afternoon.
J. B.
Food is delicious as always..
J. C.
Service and food was excellent. As it was my birthday the waiter went the extra mile. All safe distancing between the tables and hand sanitizer at entrance door. Lovely place for special occasions.
M. W.
Had the fixed price lunch menu. Choice of 3 starters, 9 mains and 3 deserts. Overall, the starters and mains seemed quite bland compared to my previous visits. However, the salted caramel profiteroles did not disappoint. They are lush and to die for. Restaurant was very busy for a January lunch and service was stressed.
B. A.
Good as expected from a Miller and Carter. Though not as good as most. I had ordered a steak whith pepper corn sauce. And not only was the sauce not as good as usual but, the onion kind of cake which is one of the sides when you order a steak and which is normally a delight was too cooked, almost burnt, uneatable....
g. l.
Lovely food ( not cheap though)
N. H.
Had a fantastic evening at miller and Carter last night. We had an excellent waitress called Natalia. From start to finish she was attentive friendly and very helpful. The food was very nice and presented lovely. we left as very happy customers planning our next visit very soon. Thanks everyone
T. t.
Great customer service, very friendly, attentive, happy staff. Food was so nice! Fillet steak was so tender and melted in tour mouth, the beef dripping sauce was outstanding. Theres an app also you can gain points for your next visit. Looking forward to the next visit.
D. S.
Never had a bad meal here, great value and good selection. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere, will definitely be back...
L.
Good steaks. Took my 9 year old daughter and they have a small children's menu, unfortunately they were out of the only food my daughter would eat.
The Filet steak was nice and my husband had the pork wrapped in bacon which he enjoyed.
The bill came too over £150 for 6 of us.
I don't understand why they serve a large wage of onion to eat and a quarter of a lettuce with dressing with the steaks.
J. M.
Excellent food. Drinks were a bit slow. Very expensive but everyone loved their meals.
S. R.
I'm not entirely motivated your staff realise the, serious work every NHS district has to cope, with numbers rocketing,my wife being one, amongst thousands.
To be refused a minor 20% discount ooff our bill, "I need to see your NHS iD, even tho,my wife's not on duty, surely a "blue light card, should be enough to authorise, said discount.
As a serving member of the Royal Air Force, my wife and I, are better treated, and respected, by our ,former Commonwealth states, than this nation.
Kind regards
Mr S Williams (Flt Lt,RAF)
S.
Lovely food and nice atmosphere
D. K.
Good atmosphere, food lovely and well presented and the waitress was great (Natalie)
D. H.
Work get together prior to a meeting, lovely fillet mignon perfectly cooked, really attentive and friendly staff the same high standards you expect at any Miller & Carter, so good to be enjoying nice food again
K. P.
First time visiting this place on a friday evening and overall was very happy. Found the starters a little small but very tasty. I had the yorkies with beef dripping sauce which were the size of a ping pong ball and the sauce absolutely divine.
For main the group I was with had a selection of steaks and the burgers and all were cooked exactly as we had asked for. I didn't get the side salad which was just a wedge of iceberg lettuce.
Prices a little steep but justified for the quality of food.
Would I go back yes although not my first choice of restaurants in the area.
a. K.
Although it was busy we did not wait long for our table, just long enough to enjoy a glass of wine. Service was excellent and waitress was really friendly. The food was wonderful, everything was fresh and hot and it tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks Miller and Carter for a lovely evening!
J. D.
Smashing food. 16 ounce ribeye is the best I’ve tasted. Wished they had more cider in fraught but not worth losing a star over
A. M.
This site is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. when I I need a fair meal, this place comes straightaway to my mind. fresh and varied food and a rich cuisine.trained staff members, and nice mood. Not less important, the tariff is decent. I recommend this restaurant with no doubt.
K. S.
Saturday 21st July 2018 beautiful place lovely seating area outside for the summer . Very Clean inside which is what i look for top priority. Lovely staff. The menu for vegetarian was not much of a choice I don't like fish. More of a variety for vegetarians would be good. This was our first time here well pleased. They have Travelodge right next to Miller and Carter. Plenty of parking spaces. The food was very tasty and freshly made. The chocolate dessert was a good portion for me. You pay for the quality. My partner had rib meat not much meat on there he was still hungry after that. Fruit Summer drinks were delicious. A place where you can sit and relax or even when going on a date. We would come here again
A. B.
Great service and excellent meal. So worth a treat ! My steak was cooked to perfection.
m.
Really lovely place. Food was really good. Staff was friendly. Overall, good atmosphere
C. P.
A lovely meal with family. Fabulous food as always. Staff friendly and professional. Looking to visit again in June.
C. m.
First time eating here well impressed food service all good very good.
Would go again and take friends.
A. D.
Honestly well worth a visit. You have probably heard a lot of hype about this place recently. The steaks are excellent, cooked to perfection and a really good choice. Not the cheapest but a really nice atmosphere and tastefully decorated. Well done Miller and Carter!
H. L.
Excellent stake and excellent atmosphere. Waiters and staff kept their distance for covid reasons and sanitiser was provided. All round brilliant meal out as usual at Miller & Carter
R. R.
Brilliant service. Lovely place.
H.
Steak was perfect as required. Bit disappointed with the liquor coffees. For some reason ours came in a mug not a glass
M. G.
Food was great! Lunch set menu wasn't terribly expensive. Service took a while initially, but once I mentioned my party was in a hurry to leave, they were very prompt to bring us deserts/coffee and bill, which was appreciated and
S. S.
Went here after the local Lockdown for a drink and a meal with my family the service was outstanding all customer and staff were Observing social distance guidelines i Enjoyed my steak and get together with my family highly recommend Miller and carter for any get together.
M. S. M.
Amazing steak and accompanyments and starter (Calamari) the best starter in town. Errors on wife's order (no cheese ignored again), and mine (missing dripping sauce) and not following through on request to change tables took 2 stars off. Waitress mortified as she took order correctly.
R. V.
Extremely well organised and efficient. Staff were really great and friendly. Was very busy but everything was brought out with perfect timing.
Food wise it was really good, meat platter to share doesn't actually have much meat but still very nice. The steak was good but I have had better. Dessert however was 2nd to none. I could have eaten a bit of everybody's!
All in all, good value for money and well worth a visit
J. B.
The New York strip was succulent and tasted wonderful
H. W.
Took my brother for a birthday meal. Interior nicer than before but slightly dated in areas still.
Clean, staff friendly- perhaps a little forced at times though. Slight delay getting table and beer quite expensive.
Steak was good quality - i find it rare to find a restaurant that can serve rare steak that isn't chewy if you excuse the pun. Quality is reflected in the price of the steak so it's not cheap, but the amount of food and the standard makes it worth while.
Didn't have a dessert but starters were nice and I like the concept of the lettuce wedge to add some veg into the meal.
the building is pretty big though so not sure how good a service it would be if full or nearly full....
W. P.
I had a fantastic at this spot. We loved the wonderful vibes and the menu. The staff were very welcoming. I’m happy we ultimately managed to try this place.
J. G.
Great ambiance, attentive staff and delicious food, we had a superb meal. And, for reference, the Haloumi Fries are epic!
J. C.
Great food but unfortunately the service wasn't great had to wait a long time between courses. To be fair though it was one of the waitresses first few shifts I just think someone should of helped her cover the tables. I hope she doesn't quit as I'm sure she will get better given time.
J. F. M.
Lovely place and very nice food ;)

So far, I've only been once but I was extremely satisfied with everything altogether. The prices are a little higher to my liking, however the quality of food is well worth the money. The staff was always nice and happy to help, I can only recommend it.

Best steak I've had in Northampton, and best steak I've had in a long time globally.
Friendly and incredibly helpful staff.
Wheelchair accessible, reasonable prices along with lovely premises basically ticks all the boxes.

Service was really slow, and we were still charged for items we never received to the table.
Took 15 mins before we were even asked if we wanted drinks.
Steak was amazing but the tomatoes looked like the life had been sucked out of them by the heat lamps for approximately 4 days,
All in all a little underwhelming, and the floor/carpet was quite dirty.
Still the food was overall good tho

It was lovely only things is that big dispointed in lobster we ordered three and weren't tender and not enough garlic butter , overall staff great and service good. Msybe next time we can try it be better. Ribs we're good and steak cook to perfection.

First experience here and couldn't rate it high enough. Amazing food, great staff and really nice atmosphere. Compliments to the chef...

Thursday night was quite full but nevertheless very Covid safe. Service a tad slow but that was to be expected certainly nothing to complain about. Overall....excellent.

Really enjoyed the steak. New menu looks decent.
Walking distance from home so use it as my local. If only they did rewards as i visit pretty much every weekend!
Keep up the good work. See you Saturday!

Booked a table here for hubby's birthday. The table was cramped, the waiter not very knowledgeable & the service very hit & miss. We ordered our drinks & had to explain what a kir was. We were not only told how we should have our meat cooked, but even when we insisted on what we wanted, we got it their way. The meat was tasty but too well cooked. The lettuce wedge adds nothing & is a tasteless iceberg. The puddings were mediocre. They kindly put a candle on his pudding & wrote happy birthday on the plate, but it was an experience we won't be repeating.

It was a well presented establishment with friendly staff.
The food was ok, nothing special to be honest; just another steakhouse cooked the same way as any other steakhouse... I heard so much about this place but thought it was overrated, pricey too.

There for a surprise 50th and they weren't ready for us which wasn't a great start. Room we were in was completely separate from rest of restaurant which was good.
Food was ok, very expensive and not sure it was completely worth it. Nothing really bad just couldn't really justify prices. Waitress was as helpful as she could be.

Steak was cooked perfectly and great service as always. I was disappointed that other guests did not follow the dress code policy, some people wearing tracksuit bottoms and hoodies. I thought Miller and Carter would have been more robust in applying the dress code policy.

If you want good steak and dont mind paying a little extra to get it this is the place to go. I've walked in off the street a couple of times and they have always accommodated a table for 2, but best to book in advance. Friendly staff and well stocked bar.

Great food and amazing service 👌

I have to say i am a convert to Millar and Carter as I wasn't sure what made it a great place to visit until I did! The steaks were beautiful and the extras, especially the lettuce wedge was a lovely touch. I particularly liked the sharing desert, yummy!

Absolutely beautiful food. Great value lunch offers. We went for the 2 courses for £10.95 and although the selection was small the food was delicious. I had calamari and chicken schnitzel i would eat it again.

We visit Miller and Carter Often. Our first experience was brilliant and we return because we enjoy the food and always come away happy with our meals. Service is usually good but not always good (when busy) which means waiting a bit too long for drinks/food. Recently the wait for tables, even when we have booked has been far too long- and although we don't mind grabbing a drink for 10minutes - any longer really cuts into your planned evening. (E.g 40minutes)

Simply great. Good food. Efficient service. Nice setting. Perfect for our family meal. As it is near us, we use it fairly regularly and have never been disappointed.

I would give the food definitely 5 star can't fault it in anyway.. No one was at front desk when arrived but went to bar anyway as was waiting for family member to turn up as they booked it but did have someone come over to ask if we had booked. Service was good too definitely recommend

This was our third time at the restaurant and although my steak was lovely my husband was not as good as previous times, there was quite a bit if gristle, not good on an expensive T bone.

took advantage of the last day of eat out to help out. Although steak flavouring on rib eye was delicious and cooked medium there was too much unchewable fat so glad didnt pay full price

The main courses were very good plenty of variety and choice. The staff were friendly and efficient and the order was exactly how we ordered it. When paying the bill I checked with the waitress that the staff receive all the tips rather than used to pay their wages. She confirmed the tips are theirs and not absorbed by the company so all good so far however we would recommend to skip the staters and deserts. We couldn't find a starter we liked and also too many desserts contains toffee or caramel or ice cream. Who wants ice cream in winter? Desert portion sizes are also way to small for the price. The chocolate brownie they offer is only 3-4 spoons full and that's nearly £7.

Loverly decor, attentive staff.
Started badly but I blame myself. Ordered a martini with rum in it. I was served a martini rosso with ice and a separate glass with rum in tumblers. So I should have been specific and asked for a martini blanco mixed with rum in a cocktail glass with no ice and olives.
The waitress was very young and inexperienced and did not understand the drink I wanted but she didn’t ask what kind of martini. My fault for not being specific.
I had smoked salmon with crushed avocado for starters. I searched for the avocado and found a teaspoon or so very plain and bland.
My husband had the cheesy mushroom starter which was very tasty.
For mains, I had marinated lamb rump. A bit stringy and I did taste marinade in one corner.
Hubby had a burger which was very nice.
All in all loverly decor and ambience, good service, food could have been better for the price paid. Posh steakhouse nice for a special meal. House wine not worth drinking.
I think I ordered the wrong things should have had beef steak in stark house not lamb steak.
I’ve been generous with three star rating, I’ve had better at Butlins for less.

Great service, perfectly cooked steak, great cocktails and nice atmosphere.
Has been hit and miss in the past but the last 3 times I have visited it has been smashing..

Food was good, service was excellent. Shame we were seated in a corridor.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Somehow our booking wasn't secured so we arrived to find we had no table. Yet within 10-15 mins we were seated and starting our drinks. This was a birthday celebration; so we are grateful that the mistake was rectified so quickly.

This is my first visit to a Miller and Carter and overall I was very pleased with the food, service and ambience. I had the organic ribeye which was excellent apart from having butter all over it. I was advised to order it without next time. They have obviously spent a lot of effort on their branding, e.g. the chips in a basket with lining covered in their logo. So why then are the napkins plain white flimsy tissue that seem to come from a pound shop?

UK most easterly point. Bracing breeze, feels healthy. Sadly, some dog owners don't pick up and at Ness Point the sewage venting is sometimes unpleasant. Great for walking, cycling and sea fishing. Beach only suitable for swimming in some places because of hidden rocks.

We have been a few times now, as it's a walk from home and probably the best of the big chain outlets in Northampton - and way better than when they operated it as a Toby carvery. Each visit has suggested that staff training needs improving (particularly on bar/cocktails/how to open wine). Waiting staff confident and friendly. Food expensive, but consistently good. Toilets are upstairs above kitchen, with lots of evidence of flooding to the kitchen area ceiling...

Second time we've visited, and it we had a superb time again. The food is always top quality, delicious and well presented. The service second to none, with polite friendly, well informed staff. Would highly recommend it to everyone.

Definitely the best steak house in Northampton. Need I say more. Only down side is toilets being upstairs!

Menu very good and varied. Very nice ambience. A little on the higher price range.. For a special occasion worth every penny.
We had a most enjoyable evening
