This place is an old school fish & chip shop, that serves up 90's style chips (those who know : know) I ordered a "meat & chips" and was served with a smile, no nonsense food and service! 5/5

Simply one of the best fish & chip shops in Northampton. Great food, great service and great staff, always happy to help. Payment is cash only, so make sure you take it with you... there is a cash machine, across the road, but it charges for withdrawls

I'm new to the area and trying to find a good Chippy! Few weeks ago we discovered this place. The food & portions were great! Came back today, got given a jumbo sausage when I asked for a jumbo battered sausage & a large kebab was the size of a small!!! Chips were good. They need to up the portions stop being tight!

We have been visiting Richards for many years. Even when we weren't local! The owners are always polite and friendly and the food is always hot and fresh tasting. The menu has a good selection to meet a modern family's needs - but you can't beat the fish and chips. The prices reflect the quality and are competitive. We will always favour going to Richards over the many other takeaways nearby.

My favourite chippy. Fish is always crisp not soggy. NB, cash only at time of writing but theres a cashpoint opposite at the shop.

Lovely people and easily the best fish and chips in Northampton bar none. Top tip if taking food home, don't get a plastic bag ask for a paper one. If left in a plastic bag it all steams up and the food goes soggy instead of staying crispy. (this can make it appear greasy but their food is not!)

(Original) Pas le meilleur fish and chips que j'ai goute a Northampton, mais ca reste tres correct quand meme. Peut etre un poil gras, mais on ne choisit pas ce genre de plat quand on est au regime!
