Reviews of Brix and Bones

A steak experience like no other!
Utterly delicious, and fantastic food. Every element of each dish has been carefully thought through by George and his crack team of meat loving chefs to bring you a fabulous taste experience, with the sides being as loved as the steaks!
We loved the ethos of using every bit of the animal, and how they age the meat right there in the restaurant, caring about who and where they buy it from. Be it Wagu beef fat roast potatoes, the pigs head tacos, or the massive slab of steak perfection, you'll be sure to enjoy every last morsel! The theatre of the coals and wood fired grill just top it off!
You MUST try the Bone Marrow Fudge Donut!
Andy and the front of house staff are super pleasant and attentive, serving lovely cocktails and able to make others not on the menu, with a good selection of wine to boot.
This place has slotted itself right into our top three restaurants of all time! We will be back!

It’s been a long time closed and I do think maybe we should’ve waited a few weeks before eating at Brix & Bones but it’s my birthday month so it seemed appropriate.
The lady running the front of house team seemed frosty but at least she let us move to another table away from the doorway. Our table was very narrow, too small for several plates of food and it would have been nice to have some chilled water on the table.
Our bread and starters were good, I was brave - I tried a duck egg, which was delicious with the beetroot. I do think the horseradish butter needed more oomph but that’s my personal choice - I didn't try the Bresola.
It was a shame there was no beef left at 19:30 on a Saturday but my husband was happy to have the Mutton but it was very rare, he also felt the large bone it arrived was pointless. The rhubarb sauce was too sweet and not tart/sharp - it didn’t really taste like rhubarb. The roast potatoes tasty but they were very vinegary.
The mackerel looked lovely but picking the bones out took the pleasure out of eating the fish plus it was quite wet. It was under seasoned however the salad was delicious. The cauliflower cheese was very tasty but the cauliflower was crunchy/hard.
Sadly I didn’t know what to make of the puddings, I’m not sure how bone marrow fudge would work in a doughnut, the frozen pineapple thing didn’t read well either but I'm sure it might be refreshing and I loathe goats cheese, so sadly we didn’t have one and left to have pudding at XO.
The service was excellent. The entire meal was very reasonable but it would be better to be able to have a large fizzy water, the bottles were too small. The beer selection was poor - not everyone wants a bottle of wine - some well chosen cans would be good, Gamma Ray is mainstream and so is Camden Hells.
The restaurant is lovely and very chic, the music was perfect, we will go back but we’ll give a few months to settle in.

Absolutely delicious! Had such a brilliant meal here, starting with the tasty cocktails, other highlights were the fresh asparagus, the Red Mullet & Pork chop were beautiful. Goats cheese Ice cream surprisingly delicious. The staff really friendly. We sat at the bar looking into the kitchen which was fun.
You’d be hard pushed to find a better meal in London where I live & the meal would have cost 3x as much.
Highly recommended, great work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best steak I've had in the UK and we've eaten at some really nice places!
Great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, chef even popped by for a chat.
It's probably just a little overpriced, you should expect to spend about 60-80 per head here. Worth it for a special occasion :)

Great little restaurant. We were a bit dubious given it shares a building with a night club, but needn’t have been - it was great. Trendy vibe and really great service. You can watch the chefs peeping the food. We had a steak sharing plate with several sides and it was delicious. Massive attention to detail and creative use of seasonal ingredients gave it a real sense of craft and occasion, but without being an overly formal setting. Be warned the sommelier will talk you into some excellent wines! We’ll def go again. It’s not a big venue which gives it a more personal feel, and I imagine contributed to the really attentive and efficient service, without ever being over fussed. Great find.

Decided to book in after numerous rave reviews from my friends for my partners birthday. My word a better choice could not have been made! Every part of the service was spot on! Staff are welcoming and friendly, first things first was a run through of the menu which gave a fantastic introduction as to how to get the best out of your meal. The main take away I got is order what you'd like and share it between yourselves however you want. Loved the freedom it gave us and the fact it got rid of any order envy.
The meat (obviously) is cooked which such care and the quality was amazing. The steak and pork we order for our main was easily some of the best I've ever tasted. But even beyond that the vegetable sides were treated with such care and respect for the flavours that they didn't seem like sides.
I'm going to be booking in again no doubt.

Absolutely cracking meal last night, we got the chefs table so we were able to see and talk to all the friendly chefs about how all the dishes were prepared and what went into them.
Attention to detail was great, you can see and taste the Asian influences in the dishes from George's travels in Japan.
Standout for me was the special local asparagus George made, the homemade merguez sausage, the curried scratchings.... well all of it quite frankly. You have to try the bone marrow fudge donut!!
Also shout out to the waitresses for the superb service and quality cocktails and also the owners for having a chat with us, will definitely be back and telling everyone about this gem.

Visited with my partner on July 30th! We'd just been to Pride and were asked all about it by the staff member who greeted us which showed attention to detail and made us feel very welcomed and safe in the establishment.
All the food was amazing, the staff were lovely, and my partner described it as better than Hawksmoor which definitely pleased the staff! (I've not been but I trust their opinion!)
The non alcoholic cocktails were also quite different to the usual same old offerings which was incredibly refreshing! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

One of best meals I have had in a long time and a great one experience and atmosphere too. Staff were very attentive and myself and my partner genuinely would give all of our 3 courses 10/10! Can’t wait to go back again sometime!

Book an early time slot to not miss out on the meats. This restaurant is one of the better steak places in Norfolk. If you don’t like trying new flavours and things then don’t go, but if you do this is the perfect spot, in need of a Michigan star in my opinion, just needs a bigger space.
