Reviews of The Ivy Norwich Brasserie
Great chain brasserie in a stunning old building not far from Norwich Market. Great, varied menu, especially for breakfast or brunch. Courteous staff too. Worth a visit and if it's a special occasion you may receive an unexpected treat...
My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting the Ivy restaurant in Norwich. Right from the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a polite host. The restaurant's ambiance was simply enchanting, with grand chandeliers casting a soft glow that created a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
To kick off our evening, we indulged in some cocktails that were not only delicious but also packed a punch - the mint martini and lucky charm were exceptional choices. Our attentive waiter took our order for sesame salmon and a beef fillet, accompanied by a side of perfectly crispy chips and fragrant jasmine rice.
The moment our dishes arrived, it was evident that the Ivy's culinary team takes great pride in their creations. Both the sesame salmon and beef fillet were not only generously portioned but also bursting with flavor - a true testament to the skill of the chefs at the Ivy.
For dessert, we savored a hazelnut Irish coffee and a salted caramel espresso, complemented by a shared portion of delectable donuts. These sweet treats came with a side of fresh strawberries and a bowl of warm, velvety chocolate sauce, complete with a candle beneath to maintain its inviting temperature.
The service throughout our meal was impeccable, with every server going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Combine that with the restaurant's stunning decor, and it's safe to say we left with hearts full of contentment. We look forward to returning to the Ivy, as our evening there was nothing short of a relaxing and memorable culinary experience in excellent company
I pleasantly stumbled across the Ivy on a visit to Norwich and it was such a lovely experience. As a keen Ivy diner, mainly in London, I have to say the staff where super friendly and the service impeccable. Really enjoyed my afternoon tea for one and my dietary requirements were catered for. This Ivy has definitely left an impression on me. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience and my cakes to go... :)
Vivre la France!! As you walk in you can't but be impressed by the decor and ambiance. The reception staff livery is enough to brighten the start of your adventure inside. We were not disappointed. We didn't like our table so they moved us to somewhere more to our liking! The food was excellently prepared and served. Excellent evening. It won't be our last when we're next in town. Well done you all.
Celebrated a birthday here for lunch.
The service is outstanding and the food was great. The chicken in one of our meals was very dried out but other than that it was 😍 👌 lovely.
Wow, what an amazing experience eating at The Ivy was. For a special occasion, it certainly is the place to go. 2 of my best girlfriends came to stay after being unable to meet up for the last 2 years, and what a treat having dinner was.
We were looked after from the moment we arrived, our waiter was such a friendly and helpful young man, he helped my friend work out the gluten free options, and me the vegetarian menu. The food isn't too expensive for a treat (luckily my main dish came with rice, so no extra sides needed), my starter of courgette fries was ENORMOUS, and was enough to share and keep to go with the main. The drinks are the expensive part though, we started on a cocktail, which were £12 EACH - then decided a bottle of wine would be our best bet.
The restaurant has beautiful decor, the only thing I can fault is that the toilets are on the 2nd floor, and it's a long way up to them, I was out of breath, and I'm pretty healthy middle aged woman. We did spot a disabled toilet downstairs, which able most people seemed to be able to use if the stairs are an issue.
We had an early table booked for Saturday, 5pm after some shopping, so it was fairly quiet inside to start but soon filled up. Our allotted 2 hours wasn't pointed out to us, but we were ready to head off anyway just after this time.
I'd definitely visit again, but keep it for a special occasion again.
Really yummy, great atmosphere. Great service. Amazing range of food. Excellent quality. Too many wonderful choices and options. Everything tasted great. Wish I could eat here more often.
The staff were really good you were made to feel very special. Our afternoon tea excellent. I would recommend this place for a special occasion.
A restaurant which has amazing attentive friendly staff, great food, and perfect timing on courses is what makes a truly awesome experience. For a Sunday night it was also busy with a great atmosphere. The Ivy Norwich has it all. Perfect. One of the great dining experiences for me. Faultless.
We arrived an hour early hoping to eat a bit earlier than booked. But enjoyed a few drinks at the bar talking with the bar staff and time just flew.
It ended up being 4 hours of a truly wonderful experience. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough and is way up there as one of my greatest eating experiences. The starter, mains and desert were just perfect.
I’ve spent a lot more in ‘Michelin*’ restaurants and not felt as well looked after as The Ivy. Keep doing what you’re doing - you should all be very proud of what you’ve created.
I’d recommend this to anyone.
