We went for a special occasion and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the 12oz sirloin and the 12oz spiral cut sirloin. They were both very delicious and cooked exactly as we ordered. The staff were very welcoming and attentive all night. Reasonable priced for a steakhouse. I would definitely be coming back

We stayed in premier inn last week and had both lunch and breakfast in the bar and block. Food was lovely. Amazing breakfast. The staff were brilliant they couldn't do enough for us. I am a wheelchair user and they did everything they could to help and make sure I was comfortable. O e of the breakfast staff alex was absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much. Super friendly. Despite some demands from some ertain guests. Highly recommend and will be back.

Excellent service from our waitress ! Steak was juicy and tasty. Not 5 * as my steak was slightly overcooked and wrong sauce in the plate (mushroom instead of blue cheese). You can choose the size of your steak which is good . Original touch to add samphire on the top of the steak !

Bar + Block is an excellent steak house with good service. All of our party loved their meals - steaks cooked exactly as ordered. The option to add two extra oz for £2.50 was a nice touch. Atmosphere was good, the staff were friendly, and the all round experience was top notch. Very happy.

Went in around 8 bit they were super busy and asked us to come back for 9. Thought about going else were but really wanted to try. Was worth the wait. We came back and a really good choice of starters and mains and drink. In a group of 4 we all had starters and they were amazing I had the salt and pepper squid was seasoned brilliantly and had some heat to them as well. My partner had scallops they were ok but the mash that they sat on was on of the best I've had this year. I had a specialty steak a Argentinian inspired sirloin steak with a spiral cut seasoned in garlic and and rosemary served rare with a chimichurri sauce and chips. Was brilliant I've been to a lot of steak houses before and the have been a bit hit or miss. Was really impressed with bar + block well worth a visit book before going.

Good city centre steak restaurant. Went for the Tira de Ancho cut with side of triple cooked chips. Felt that the steak was slightly under seasoned. Also for the price I paid I felt that including just one side dish wasn’t value for money. The Chocolate Bomb dessert at the end was really good and would recommend. Restaurant service was good and was made to feel welcome by the staff.

We dined here for my sister's graduation meal. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff, however a lot of options were unavailable as they had sold out (7:30pm on a Friday night). Only one vegetarian option which was unavailable and three pescatarian options, one of which was also unavailable. After all, this is a steak place but they should be able to cater for all diets no matter the day or time. I was going to order the Thai Green Curry as I don't eat red meat but this was unavailable, hence I opted for the chicken salad, it was £11.30 if I remember correctly for the large (wasn't large at all), which is quite a steep price for some leaves and tomatoes. The lamb souvlaki was quite fatty and some of the steaks weren't cooked as they were requested. The drinks were nice, albeit rather pricey. Vases of water were made available on all tables.

Absolutely brilliant resturant! The food is outstanding and they do a lovely range of cocktails to accompany dinner. The reaturant is in a nice location which isn't to noisy but also very close to local bars such as 'Las Iguanas' and 'Fat Cat'. Makes for a perfect date night.

By far THE NICEST steak I've ever had!! The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, staff are friendly and attentive, the drinks there are nice and, if you like steak, the food will be to your liking too. I had an 8oz rib-eye with chips, onion rings and peppercorn sauce and it came to around £20 (a very reasonable price given the quality of the food). Overall, a group splitting the bill with some desserts, wine, coffee etc came to around £35 per head, but that could be more or less if you were paying individually. Highly recommended!

We had the steak and frites with a red wine and it was beautiful. It was all in good timing and we selected the red wine and was given some details about the wine we chose and it's probably the best wine i've had in a long time its was nice and smooth and tasted amazing. The steak was cooked good and juicy and the garlic butter...AMAZING. Overall i really enjoyed my time there and our waiter Ben was really friendly and helpfully. I look forward to going back.

Went for lunchtime on a Friday. The interior is very nice, clean and modern. Food was good value. Had the £10 express menu which included a wine. Would probably give 4/5 for the food but have to give 5/5 due to the exceptional service by our two waitresses. My colleague has many food allergies and the attention they gave him was as good as any we've had in the last 2 years, home or abroad. Very friendly and proactive. Will go back soon..

Partner had the surf and turf burger with the king prawns and she thoroughly enjoyed it! I had the classic burger and you can tell real care and effort into the quality of their meat! We had fantastic desserts, I had the churros sundae, and my partner rhubarb and custard sundae! Oh wow.. Really capped off a lovely evening! Highly recommend! Absolutely mega. 6 of us went for a lunch and we ate from the main menu. Most of us either had the spiral cut ribeye or fillet steak and I had the 12oz Pichana Ribeye and it was unbelievable. You can also order any of their steaks to any size from 8oz up to a crazy 50oz which is definitely not for the faint of heart! Amazing service and food and would definitely go again and again!

Had a great meal this afternoon with family. The ribeye steak washed down with the Malbec perfect combination. Spoke to the chef Munesh afterwards and explained I eat steak in many places and its probably the hardest thing to cook right for a customer but today medium rare to perfection and the best steak I have eaten out in a long time. We came to the restaurant in Nottingham on its opening night, purely because our regular choice of restaurant was unfortunately closed. I chose the rump steak which was cooked perfectly with triple cooked chips, my dad had a mixed grill, and my brother had mighty block burger. The mixed grill was rather small for the price you pay, and don't include much bang for buck, it was a small steak, pork belly, squished chicken and sausage, with a small apple coleslaw and the tiniest corn on the cob I've personally ever seen. He also had the wrong sauce with his meal which didn't help the situation. There were redeeming points, the burger was good to my knowledge apart from a brioche bun that was 'like toast' and my steak was perfect. Neither of these latter dishes came with any garnish such as a salad or vegetable options, just chips, which were apparently triple cooked but which seemed only single cooked in all honesty, not as crispy as you'd expect. Overall a mediocre visit that wasn't helped by the slow service and long wait for food - we were trying to be in and out in an hour but it took 1h40. May consider visiting again but have been to more exciting and tasty steakhouses.

We came here for my birthday, it took us a while to get served, but the waiter who did was awesome. I had the Mixed Grill which appears small, but is still quite filling. The Apple slaw is spicier than you think it would be, the chips were amazing and the meat was succulent. The steak was beautiful and I could happily come here again just to order a steak next time. The corn on the cob was a little small, but it was charcoal cooked for crying out loud! What more do you need? . Real good quality food here! We did forget to order sauces, but tbh, that didn't matter, everything was tasty enough. Oh! There are two Argentinian Malbec's here one a house red and the other delicious. As my girlfriend describes her meal: "It was awesome.... I could eat it again."

Met up for a family lunch one Sunday. Place was empty but the steaks were the best we had had in a long time. Spinach side was just spinach with garlic and nothing on creamed spinach very disappointing. Chips fab and so was the beef dripping pop corn that they serve at the start.

We had lunch here. It was very quiet, although it was only just 12 o clock. We were seated, offered drinks and given 2 menus. One was the full menu and the other was an express menu. The express menu is an offer of a meal and a drink for £10 and under 10 minutes. If it takes longer, it's on them. While we deliberated, we were given a bowl of beef popcorn. Sounds like it shouldn't work but it was out of this world tasty. We ordered from the full menu. We had a sharer starter of Mac and cheese bites, crispy hoisin duck and pulled pork croquettes. All were very tasty but the hoisin duck was amazing. I had a tandoori chicken burger with sweet potato fries which was lovely whilst my sister in law had rib eye steak with sweet potato fries. She said hers was great but they didn't have any of the bernaise sauce she had been looking forward to. We would both recommend, excellent service, great food and I felt value for money, something I think is rare now!

I've been lucky to travel abit and eat some really nice food, including steaks, which i'm very picky about how they are cooked. BY A COUNTRY MILE, i've just had the best steak i've ever eaten. 12oz rump, medium rare. Succulent, juicy, perfectly cooked. A definite revisit is required.

Relaxed celebration We selected Bar+Block for my son's birthday meal because it had a good menu, good reviews and was in Nottingham city centre. And he liked the website description. Service was great, Roger was unintrusive but always on hand and with a smile! Menu was interesting and varied: scallops bbq ribs & tacos to start; signature burger, bbq chicken and a rare chateaubriand butchers block steak for two. The food was faultless (and I don't hesitate to turn back steaks if they are overdone). Puddings were excellent, though the choice was not. Coffee was good. I enjoyed my Rioja. Location was on a big roundabout, so dead easy to find and great for people watching whilst we chatted and ate. It was a Sunday so not packed, but relaxed groups and couples of all ages, including well behaved young children. We are very likely to return next time we visit Nottingham.

Me and my husband came here before going to see Russell Howard at the motorpoint arena on the 26th September we were greeted by Ben who took us to our table. Me and my husband had the house sharing block on the block was ribs chicken pieces wedges two different sauces which was cooked perfect the meat on the ribs just melted in your mouth. Me and my husband then both chose rib eye steak which was also cooked to perfection as I'm very awkward when it comes to steak. Overall the service from Ben was amazing manners, smiling, checking that the food was ok

Just ok. The food wasn’t any better than other steaks I’ve had. The service wasn’t great and myself and other customers were ignored for a long time while staff stood around talking. I think the restaurant need to be careful because the hotel upstairs attracts huge amounts of stag do groups who all seem to congregate in the restaurant- not eating, just standing around getting drunk while couples, families etc. Are eating their meals.

I was staying in the adjacent Premier Inn, and I have been to a similar restaurant in Bath and found them both really good for an evening meal and the breakfast linked to the Premier Inn. The food and service were really good which a different selection of food compared to Beefeater, Thyme and Brewers Fayre restaurants. Located close to central Nottingham and would recommend a visit.

Lovely little place to grab a drink and maybe some grub.. and perfect if you're staying over at the premiere Inn next door! The staff were all lovely and super helpful, but i was a little dissatisfied with the toilets... I made a complaint on the Saturday about the state of them and was told they were cleaned the morning before... which you'd think after a Friday night in Nottingham you'd want a good clean up the following morning? Even on the Sunday they were still in the same grubby state I complained about... Toilets unclean but other then that I have no more complaints!

We visited Nottingham from Northampton for shopping and through Google Maps, Bar and Block was recommend and looked trendy and the food tastey and well presented. 2 of us had the spiralized fillet marinated in garlic and corriander i think, it was amazing and the kids 16, 10 and 8 all enjoyed their meals too. Shame we're 70 miles away!

I've been lucky to travel abit and eat some really nice food, including steaks, which i'm very picky about how they are cooked. BY A COUNTRY MILE, i've just had the best steak i've ever eaten. 12oz rump, medium rare. Succulent, juicy, perfectly cooked. A definite revisit is required.
