J. L.We were lucky when we arrived around 6pm there was one table available (for four people). Our waiter explained how tapas worked and that dishes only come out when they are ready so it would be better to order as a group. We ordered a good selection of dishes. Everything was good. In the end, we couldn't eat everything and had to take some home.
A. L.We went for some impromptu tapas last night. Incredible atmosphere and lovely seating at the bar watching the chefs at work. The tapas was just sensational, a absolute mouth-gasms all around.
T. T.We enjoyed our Anniversary dinner here very much. Our daughter and son-in-law took us here for Tapas. There were good choices and we especially like the grilled lamb breast and chicken skewers!
L. P.Came for a midweek shopping lunch, taken straight to a table. The cava was crisp with apple notes, a nice bottle. We had the menu rapido which is great value - 2 dishes and a large portion of warm sourdough with oil and balsamic. We shared the Spanish omelette which is something I wouldn't normally choose, but wouldn't overlook again. The calamari had a light coating and lovely aioli dip. The josper stone bass was delicious, a real charcoal flavour. The crispy cauliflower was as always, the star of the show. Overall a really enjoyable lunch treat.
A. F.A really good tapas restaurant in Hockley, in the heart of Nottingham.
When you arrive, there may be a bit of wait before you can get a table, but the waiting area is by the window and you can do some people watching.
The place can get pretty busy, especially towards the weekend and in the evenings.
The food is gorgeous, staff are polite and happy to advise if you are struggling to choose.
There are usually a couple of tables outside in front of the restaurant as well, which is brilliant when the weather is nice and you don't want to sit inside.
Enjoyed our tapas and drinks and will definitely return.

J. C.My wife and I enjoyed yet another menu rapido which is a very good value lunch deal. The crispy chili chicken and cauliflower dishes are our favourites but everything we've ever eaten there has been tasty. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and we'll be heading there time and time again for our rare child-free lunch dates!

The first visit I was really impressed and loved all the food I ordered, the second visit I was a bit upset to see they had changed the menu and replaced certain dishes with dishes I wouldn't personally eat/order. That being said, the amount of food you get is a good portion, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I.Nice Spanish tapas place with fair price. The fried squid, patatas bravas, the flatbread with avocado & tiger prawns, the aubergines, some fried mushrooms accompanied with some chorizo! This small dishes are my favorites but in all honesty, the entire menu is delicious!

G. H.Finally get to eat out here. We went on the eat out to help out. Mainly got most of the veggie stuff as my friend is veggie. And I can say excellent food and staff. Everyone was super friendly and they managed to get us a table even being so busy. I was disappointed with the gambas, but is forgiven as the rest of the food we ordered was plenty and each other dish had something outstanding about it. I really enjoyed the cauliflower and blue cheese with beetroot dishes these were beautifully put together.

Some waiters are a little rude - do not let the customers finish their conversation and interrupt, are very pushy with drinks (well, drinks bring good ans fast money to the bar). Menu rapido is £10.95 served Monday to Friday between 17:00 and 18:45 hrs (as on 10-10-18).
D. V.I walked past Bar Iberico early evening one cold day. Other restaurants were just setting up but Bar Iberico was already busy. I realised later that it was probably because they offer an 'early bird' dinner special during the week, which is very good value. I tried several tapas, all were delicious. I also enjoyed the flan for dessert.

The staff were so friendly and really upfront about the queue times due to the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme. All felt really safe.
The food always tastes out of this world! So good! Highly recommend the sticky chicken, crispy cauliflower and flat iron steak! Portions are big too. We ordered way too much! Go for 2 tapas per person! You can always order more! Super Rioja too!

Our favourite was the crispy cauliflower as the texture and sauce were perfect but every other choice was a close second.

E.Oh my gosh the food was amazing. We were a group of 4 and each has the lunch tapas option - £12.95 for 2 tapas dishes and some bread/oils - then we just shared it all plus an additional flat beard. The food was delicious and there was plenty to fill us all up. The staff were really friends and attentive too.
Definitely one of the best Tapas meals I’ve had. I’d highly recommend and would go again in a Heartbeat.

The downside is that you can't book a table, and this means there are often queues. It's worth waiting for though, and given that your food arrives pretty quick, it's not so bad. The cauliflower is to die for. Go here.
A.Really love the dishes here, they always have a great selection and a couple new dishes each time we visit. The staff are always accommodating and friendly. Wines by the bottle are great quality. It’s always crazy busy in here (which is a good thing) but can be quite noisy, only complaint!!

No wonder iberico is a firm favourite of mine and many others. Its like a tiny corner of Spain in my city. We had vegans and meat eaters on our group and everyone got delicious food. We had not booked but were lucky to get in. Taking a buzzer with us so we could go get a drink elsewhere until a table was available. Much better than queueing.

All in all a great restaurant just better reserved for a treat or a celebration for those of us on a lower / minimum wage.

A few years on and Google has asked me to update.
We've only been here twice this year, second time being today. Still good but I don't think the menu is as good as it was. The other time we went it was again a pretty average menu, with long time favourites gone. So from 5 to 4 stars.
We will now wait til there's a menu change announcement before returning.

C. L.Been here a few times and always have had an excellent experience and would rate 4/5 starts! This time however, was a little disappointed. The patatas Bravas weren’t that great, the potatoes seemed like they were sat out for a while after being cooked. The pork tacos weren't anything special for the portion and cost. The gambas didn’t have any garlic like last time and the dill butter (which was nice) was too rich for our liking, plus the sourdough bread that came with it was mouldy. The Jamon croquettes were delicious as always though.
Despite being let down by the food, our server, Allisha (I think her name was?) was super lovely throughout and very apologetic about the bread and got it replaced asap with an extra portion. Plus, the restaurant was kind enough to knock of the gambas off the bill which we really appreciated!

Only downfall is that they have removed 2 of my favourite dishes which was the lamb pinchos in miso sauce and the chorizo flatbread. I do hope they make a return soon! Can't wait for my next visit!
N.Really excellent plates of fine cured hams and an Italian / spanish selection. Large portion sizes and surprisingly fast service. Basement section could use some flowers or decorations or posters from spain but the food was outstanding.

All of the food was delicious and I recommend the cider. Staff were all nice and helpful. £58 for 2 ciders, bread, cheese and meats board, chicken wings, steak slices and pork skewers and a tip. This served 2 ppl.

The flatbread was incredible and truly a highlight of this place definitely recommend to get one. The cauliflower, chicken and the padron peppers were all also great tapas dishes. The Patatas bravas however were quite average and not worth it in my opinion. All in all a lovely tapas restaurant which is definitely worth a visit.

You have to try the crispy chicken and the crispy cauliflower though as they are long standing tapas dishes. The flatbreads are always good. Good drinks list and they being you tap water without you having to ask for it.

D. H.Buzzing Tapas restaurant with a great bar scene vibe to it, the atmosphere was spot on. We were served by a very attentive waitress who really made the difference on the night, checked in regularly to see how everything was going and even had time for a friendly chat.
We had a few lovely cocktails from a well balanced drinks menu, I would recommend trying the Cucumber Fizz. Overall the meal was lovely, a bit hit and miss but that does happen with tapas and is more down to personal preference really.
The only downside was turned into a positive by our waitress, my friends dessert was very chewy and not that nice in general however we were promptly offered a replacement. We didn't take up the offer but it was a great example of how customer service should happen in this industry.
Also it should be noted that this restaurant is walk in only, we got a table at the bar straight away but they were pretty busy all night (we went on a Friday) so I imagine a slight wait can occur sometimes. (Bookings can be made for groups of 6 or more)

They did not hurry you along and kept us topped up with drinks. We did try several of the dishes and left the restaurant very fulfilled, worth a tryout, is my suggestion.

Drinks menu is excellent, and you must try one of the Sherries. They could find some more interesting beers to match the wine, spirit and cocktail offering.
Setting and atmosphere are very nice, the opened windows and outside seating make it feel authentically European.

My boyfriend and I shared sourdough with olive oil and vinegar, lamb skewer, steak with cabbage and cheese, salmon flat bread, and hake with cheese and potatoes from the oven. It was all delicious (we mainly liked the steak) and enough for the both of us. We spent about 40 pounds for all of that including two drinks, so not too expensive. We were also offered free tap water with ice which is super nice, especially for a Dutchie like me (we're not used to that). Also nice that allergy information is provided in the menu (I believe dairy, gluten and nuts).

M. T. S.Very delicious food and a good atmosphere despite its busy nature from its popularity. Quickly seated despite the busy period, excellent service by the staff. Food was cooked and delivered very quickly and well presented.
I would say the dishes are slightly big for tapas, 1 good dish and bread is enough for 1 person while I would expect tapas to require a few. Also unless you get in for the Menu Rapido offer on weekdays and Saturday then you will expect to spend rather a lot compared to what you get.
Saying that if you do get Menu Rapido then it's very good value for money, and in a group can help you try a large range of their products, which as I already said are delicious!

We ordered a nice range off the menu and everything was fantastic, I have to say the sticky chicken was on par with the inside out wings from the other iberico place, wow, a must-try.
The chorizo was incredible also, I think my favourite item was the chicken.
Sadly the service was real poor from one waitress, I imagine the girl was new but she had a bad attitude and was hassling us to order. she brought out a wrong dish and after one of our party had an item from the dish she returned and explained it was for another table so took it back to the kitchen, come on they can't re-use that dish so just leave it out? She had a bad attitude and everything we asked for she pulled a face, just out of order really.
We all really enjoyed the restaurant, as above I can't recommend the food enough, I had the chocolate churros for desert, that was incredible.
M. N.Me and my partner love Bar Iberico. They have done a great job making it look like it wouldn’t be out of place on a street in Valencia. The menu is great and adjusted seasonally with a wine list that I’m only part of the way through 😉 The open window in summer has a very lovely feel to it.
The staff are attentive and accommodating to your needs. It’s walk in only and gets busy on some night at popular dining times but that’s testament to peoples opinion of the dining experience.

L. C.Nice food. Been many times and is fairly priced, with a great value set menu when it's available. Unfortunately the menu has changed very little since its opening, with many dishes simply being 'refined' rather than replaced for newer and interesting offerings. This could become an issue in the future and although a great atmosphere and quality, I find myself less and less excited about visiting, as I know which dishes I'll be ordering before I arrive. I'm by no means a fussy eater and have tried at least 90% of the menu, bar one of flatbread options here, or 'nibbles' there - I've had every tapa dish to date. Bar Iberico doesn't wholly serve traditional Spanish tapas, so with a wider scope of cuisine to draw influence from, it seems bizarre the menu is still small and lacks at times major evolution. I think the addition of 10 more dishes would go along way to inspiring a future visit (imo anyway) and keep the regulars happy. However, this would probably make getting a table impossible going forward! This should really be a 3.5 star but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

A. S.We've been meaning to try Iberico ever since the first restaurant opened in Nottingham some years ago. This time though we chose the newer restaurant in Hockley. It was a Saturday afternoon, and therefore very busy; the place had a nice vibe. Even though we had to sit downstairs it still felt like a bustling place. The food was excellent - we chose from the Menu Rapido, which offers great value. In total we ordered 4 tapas and 2 pinchos - about right to share between two people. Oddly, I came away thinking I'd eaten food which was more Chinese than Spanish, but maybe that was largely down to our choices.
The bar menu was good and the service was excellent. We'll come again.

An independently owned restaurant offering brilliant and unique tapas (clearly Spanish, but with subtle Asian influences), with a great front of house team, set in a cool and relaxed atmosphere. The chefs work hard to create a new menu for each season, so there's always something new to try alongside the house favourites.
