Amazing South Indian food! We were so pleased with everything we had, just the right amount of food and spice!
Staff was very nice and helped us choose something that made the experience even better. Thank you for serving us, we had an excellent time and would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to taste and enjoy authentic Indian cuisine.

Dosa n Chutney - An Indian restaurant right in the Nottingham centre.
Flavourful dishes and authentic Indian taste, if that's what you need, head over to this restaurant and you'll not be disappointed.
We ordered Mysore Masala Dosa, Rava Masala Dosa and Vegetable Biryani. Everything was so delicious. I'll definitely visit again.

Food was really delicious. Loved the masala dosa and all the starters, especially the chicken tikka. Also the main course was amazing. Great service. Would definitely visit again.

Great hospitality.very Humble attentive staff.
It was almost closing time when we arrived, when told them that we didn't knew it was closing and kids were hungry.
They let us in.And got everything we ordered.
We were very impressed.
And grateful for their cooperation.
I would have given more than 5 stars for the flavour too.
Everything was super delicious.

Good value for money, polite staff. Dosa was a little greasy but the starters were fantastic! Recommend going!

I went to Dosa & Chutney with my dearest friend for lunch. Oh my, I must say that the food was delicious with an authentic taste. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Superb and outstanding customer service. Bravo and will take my other friends to Dosa & Chutney. This restaurant deserves an Award. Don't trust anybody or any of the negative reviews you read but try it for yourself. The proof is in the Dosa....yummy 😘
R. B.
Excellent Dosas!!! Must Try Mysore Masala Dosa😋
Tempting Pista Lassi😍🔥
Reshmi Kabab❤️
Excellent Service by Staff Rishi👏

Casual authentic Indian food (not your typical British curry house). Good is delicious, everyone is friendly and the service is great. Highly recommended, just don't tell anyone else. It's one of my worst kept secrets....

Paper roast with curries was roughly £7 all together. Paper roast came cold and the Ras malai and chutney tasted off.

We were on our way to another Indian restaurant and just happened to spot this place by chance. I love Dosa so I thought I'd give it a go. The Masala Dosa was excellent. Very thin and crispy, nicely spiced filling. A dish I'd never had before was Chili Idly. A bit on the hot side for me but very tasty. Chicken Tikka Biryani was amazing, perfectly cooked, an incredible range of spices and flavours. Possibly the best rice dish I've had in an Indian restaurant for many years. The Chettinadu Lamb Curry was another excellent dish. You need to be careful with the whole spices like cardomom but it's worth it. Again, very well cooked, great depth of flavour. This wasn't just banged together in a pan. This was made with great skill and care. Naan bread is superb, crispy outside, soft middle and very light. Service was excellent. Very friendly people and great food. We'll definitely be back soon.

The food is always amazing. They always decrease spice level according if we do need it. The ghee roast is a must try, and the mutton kothu rotti is so good!! Definitely would recommend :)

Absolutely excellent food and chutneys!! So authentic Indian and tasteful. They just nail it every time. The ambience, the music, the service, and ofcourse the food- just perfect!!! Me and my friends specially go to Nottingham all the way from Lincoln just to have some decent food. And for students like us living soo far away from our families, this place is such a blessing! Simply amazing:D.

Food: Taste good but sometimes the same meal can taste different depending on the day but generally quite good.
Portion size: Portion size is not too good as dishes such as the paneer tikka masala or some of the starters (if not all) are very small.
Environment: Decorations and overall setup are very well done. The music on the other hand is quite... interesting. Not bad by any means but.. just interesting to say the least.
Given that it's in Nottingham (a university city) I would expect there to be student discounts (or if there is, please advertise it more).
Staff: Is okay but could be better and more welcoming. However, this one time I went with friends and I needed to ask the waiter for an extra item and he looked at me annoyed and rolled his eyes. I wasn't sure why he acted like that but for the rest of my stay, he kept acting very annoyed and like he didn't want to be there. A lot of the female staff also act very relaxed as if they did not care about what they were doing, often giving off an air of annoyance and complacency.
Waiting times: The waiting times are probably one of the worst things about this place. Waiters take too long to come and ask for your order, let alone to offer you some water or any other drinks. And after you FINALLY place your order, you better have an hour to spare to wait for your food. Sometimes it even arrives cold... not sure what's going on there.
Overall, the place is quite good. I think that better management and better marketing would really help out the place.
R. N.
Great food , Easily one of the best, But understaffed, feel bad for the waiters, Need more people, drinks arrive late and from the sound of other reviews here, seems like a common theme, Guess increase the prices and add a staff will be the easy and best way ! Quality is worth it , Good food , Indeed!!!

The taste of the food was authentic and a must try if you are especially far from home.

The best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. I had a lunch with my friends and we ordered dosa& chicken drum sticks and chilli panner. The food was very tasty and delicious. The service was perfect and the staff at the restaurant were very friendly.

First visit was a quick one as their kitchen was closed, still we were allowed to have the buffet lunch. To my Surprise 😃 I got the Authentic Indian Taste I was searching for 6 months in Nottingham.
My 2nd visit I tried Idli-Vada, Paneer Dosa, Chicken 65, Chicken Noodles, Strawberry IceCream and Lassi. Every dish served had the same Indian Authentic Flavour and taste that takes you back to India.
It's a must visit restaurant if u seek authentic, tasty Indian dishes.. I'm waiting for my next visit soon.
The staff is very good, friendly and works very quickly. A MUST VISIT!
A. S.
The dishes here are good. I tried their Chicken set dosa and Pista Lassi which I loved a lot.
I visited this place three times so far. Third time I visited, the service was slow but overall it was good experience to be here.
S. ..
This is the most authentic Indian eatery ehich I have come across in and around Nottingham.
We ordered Ceylon chicken and Chicken lollipop(saucy) for starters. At first, it felt very spicy. To get over the spice for the moment, we ordered a bowl of a gulab jamun combined with Pista ice cream, which was very delicious.
Inspite of the spice, those had the authentic taste and flavour of the world famous Indian masalas.
If you don't like spice, don't worry, you can ask them to make it according to your taste.
Had D&C special chicken Biriyani(which had huge portions, we were unable to finish it then and there, so we packed the rest for takeaway.
Superb place ro eat. Will go back again.

Really nice authentic Sri Lankan food and lovely staff.
R. T.
The food was great, especially the Dosa but we wish that the waiter was more engaging when we were asking about the types of food. We saw him interact the same way with the three other customers at the location. He didn’t have much to say and didn’t even say goodbye when we said it to him. That was the only let down.
A. D.
Idly's were delicious, just like they make it back home in South India.Dosa was good too.Gobi Manchurian was hot but tasty. The place looks alright , ambience can get better. What really can be improved is the service. It's slow like really slow.We had to literally wait for 15 minutes and had to call someone to take our order. But the food compensated for slow service so 4 stars.I hope on my next visit, the service improves.
S. P.
Had podi dosa, chicken koth porotta and chiken tikka for dinner. Hotel is on the first floor of the Building with enough seating for a decent crowd. Staffs were all friendly and helpful. Also, be ready for the long waiting time for the food if you are visiting on the weekend.
S. B.
Good food and service, however compared to pre-covid the portions were a lot smaller than we remember. The food was delicious and very close to being authentic

Well deserved for the taste for their name and delicious 😋😋 dosa with spicy chutneys. All the items were on time with perfection. Tandoori items and Currys were outstanding to it's perfection and yummy. Extremely happy for dinning and enjoy the food. Good value for money and one of the best South Indian restaurant✌🏻✌🏻. I strongly recommend to have some good space with your family and friends ☺️. Great service and staffs were very friendly and the management is doing good and outstanding hats off to the team👏🏻👏🏻. I recommend to try out for spicy PODI DOSA with spicy chutney and sambar you'll enjoy it🔥🔥🔥. Thanks for the Chef's for giving an hilarious and delicious food. Purely blissed and satisfied ☺️☺️.
My review is 5/5🤗😋🔥
Enjoy your own way☺️☺️☺️

The food here is very tasty, typical indian taste and also the dosa's are the best!!
The staff was also very welcoming and good , served very well !

Great food. The biryani, curries, and dosa are delicious. The service is a bit on the slow/inexperienced side and the ambience lacking a bit but overall great place to get some good Indian food!
M. D.
Amazing food, friendly staff, great service!! Highly, highly recommend the Chilli parota, ghee roast dosa and the set dosa with chicken curry...super yummmmmy, and filter coffee for that perfect end to a great south Indian meal.

This place is very easy to miss out whilst walking near to the Taxi rank around Wheeler Gate. the ambience is OK but compliant with Covid-19 regulations. I had word of mouth publicity and yes, the restaurant matched up to it too! Kayal was the only place for South Indian cuisines in Nottingham but these guys will easily take them on and defeat too. I had the Coriander and Chilli Dosa which is generally not served with the Masala (Potato and Onion Stuffing) but they did accommodate my request. The freshness and quality of the food was very good and taste was exquisite. I will definitely visit again. Fellow diner were meat-eaters and they had "Chicken Chukka" which made me see and feel from the aroma that I was missing out on something special....Keep it up Dosa-Chutney
D. C.
Dosa Chutney is our go to place. Whenever we have been here there is no disappointment. The choice of Dosas is amazing and quantity absolutely worth the price. The menu is very extensive and everything on it upto the mark. But I can only speak of vegetarian food (have tried almost anything on the menu). The service is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. For my Jain friend, they customized a few items as well. Also, the location is very convenient by road, bus or tram.

Hello
Today I was in Dosa and chutney restaurant. I and my friend order the mutton Dosa it was really great. And masala tea. We love the service.
Thank you so much for your we will come back soon.
N. K.
The food was good in quantity and quality but still they can improve the quality and taste a bit. I found the base gravy and masala exactly same in all three subji that we have ordered. Hence, it taste like they just added the final ingredient (i.e. okra, chana) in the already prepared gravy with exactly same spices. It's not the right way. They also can improve the ambience a little. Overall it's good to go restaurant.
K. W.
Came here for a meal with work colleagues. The food was delicious and plentiful tho there was a little wait for our food, it was well worth it! I had ...Starter of Chicken 65 and Samosas (shared x2) Chicken Masala Dosa. Reasonably priced. Place very clean too.The staff are attentive and very polite. I will definitely be visiting Dosa & Chutney again.
T. D.
One of those Indian restaurants in Nottingham where you get authentic Indian food with proper spice levels. This joint serves the cuisine from the southern part of India.
Kotthu paratha, chettinandu chicken, chicken noodles, varieties of dosa are among the must try's. We were quite taken off by the deserts as well. We loved the hot gulab jamun with ice cream and mango kulfi.
The staffs were jolly and prompt.
Area of improvement: portion size of chicken mains can be a bit more, since they're lipsmacking but costly.
s. m.
Mutton masala dosa has been my absolute favourite choice, part from dosa mutton masala is absolutely beautiful. I always order this item with extra portion of mutton masala 🤤🤤🤤. Had recently order ghee roast and rasam. Mind blowing. Staff is always very decent and atmosphere is very soothing.
S. H.
Experience our home land taste. Excellent customer service and excellent atmosphere. I will come back again for taste and customer service.👏👏🎉🎉
M. B.
Food is great and at a good price, as well as the place having a nice atmosphere. Staff are not so great seem a bit off with the fairies. I asked for some more chutney and raita to go with my main and after 5 minutes still didn't get any. Asked another member off staff and still never actually got any and at this point I had finished my food. The personal hygiene of some of the staff is not the best in the world either. Dosa & no chutney.
C. T.
We went here a few days ago, the food was truly amazing, the best dosa’s ever, everything was tasty, full of flavour, strongly recommended even if you just order a dosa, the other foods were lovely too, you will never be disappointed with your order, just explain to the waiter, the level of spice, the rest is amazing.👌🤗👏👏
A. Y.
We have visited this place many a times and I can safely say this is one of the finest restaurant in city centre for south indian meal. However there is huge problem with the restaurant is the service, it is very poor and sometimes it gets worst because we saw during our last visit that there was just one lady taking care of all the people during the lunch time when it is at peak and we were just waiting for our orders to be taken. If that can be managed, its a nice restaurant.
V. S.
Excellent taste. Guinune real taste of south India food. Ambience is great!!!! Definitely recommend if anyone looking for real South Indian food in Nottingham. Good job guys 👌👍
P. M. K.
Best place for South Indian food at Nottingham, run by Tamil people at City center.
Affordable, tasty, Simply nice.
Keep up the service and keep adding the menu.

Alright so this my second time visiting with my girlfriend few hours delayed in writing this but here it is. My rating is based on several things.
1. My 3 star rating is combined from comparing to my previous visit and this visit.
2. STAFF : My previous visit was pleasant and more comfortable and more relaxed compared to this visit mainly due to the fact that when we arrived this time we were welcomed appropriately, courteously and elegantly by the staff member just like the last visit but the difference this time then last time was that from the start i felt like the staff were treating the business as a playground rather than a work place and a restaurant however as i was seated and we immediately asked for a cup of tea for drinks (it was cold outside so we wanted to warm up). 10 - 11 minutes in we didn't get any tea at this point we weren't complaining. So my fiancé called the waitress that was regularly visiting her table she was serving to see if we can move to different table as we initially chose the table near the window side which seemed to have a draft and she said yes that's no problem so i will give kudos to the flexibility offered. We moved to another table a little better but 5 minutes moving into moving to the new table we were still wondering where was our tea or we haven't been greeted by any other servers who were kind of walking back and forth taking pics and having a conversation amongst each other. Then 2 minutes of that 2 guys walked into the dining area and one of them was our initial server who greeted us and seated us (I do however have to say that since the time we walked in to the time we walked out he had his airpods in his ears and having a conversation on the phone). He came up to us and said you said coffee right i said sorry no we asked for tea and we requested it as soon as possible if it was ok and he said oh right sure yes. Waitress arrived to our table and i saw that she had tea and coffee on her serving tray and she was about to drop the coffee and we said no sorry we only asked for tea but since now the coffee was there and instead of sending it back we said sure we will take that too. During the whole dinner we were there some staff were too busy joking with each other sitting on the table opposite to us during the break and talking joking and sitting in uncompromising positions and eating which in all means is not a problem for them to eat but as a customer some of us come in to a restaurant to have a pleasant quite intimate time with family, loved ones, friends and business meetings and that wasn't what i was expecting from my staff where i work and nor do i want them to invade some one else's space especially in the dining area. This was all even before the order was taken from us. The waiter who did come to take our service was professional however i wish he did however have a notepad with him as much as i respect his memory it did make us question he didn't take a note and hope he doesn't forget by the time he puts it in the P.O.S for the kitchen. Other than this i had i no other issues.
3. FOOD : Just like my previous visit and this visit i am impressed with the food. The taste, texture, quality and the authenticity is still amazing and kudos the kitchen for delivering
CONCLUSION : I would revisit again only because of the food. I do hope however staff behave more in a professional setting without losing the humanity and welcoming side. I Would have given it 5 stars but the staff let me down with their behaviours. Next time i visit hopefully this is sorted out. Would i recommend this to others ? YES like i said for the food as of now but if you asked me what about service i am not sure what you are expecting as my 1st visit everything was done correctly this visit i was disappointed .
Hope to see you soon. And may be my employees will beat me to it.

Authentic South Indian restaurant. Taste checks out. Thumbs up for that. Price on the higher side though.
B. M.
Authentic Indian cuisine. When I go out for meals with my Indian colleagues then this is the place they always select.

“Mouth drooling & Flavourful dishes - Worth going to…”
Needless to say, the best Indian restaurant here in Notts. Flavourful, high standard of cuisine, coupled with great ambience made my day memorable all the times I’ve visited. Worth to mention, flavourful sweet corn soup with fresh vegetables in it which I had during my last visit was absolutely top notch. Though missing those traditional Indian pics on the wall 😊., a varied & delicious menu with affordable prices served with friendly smile always, cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Much appreciated & will be back soon…

Just can say wow
Full of indian flavour, by that I mean truly indian after a long time. There is no doubt will definitely visit again. But sad thing they stopped southindian thali now. Dosa was perfect. Devil chicken was so yummy, I can still feel the taste.Staff were really good and helpful.
R. F.
Had never been here or tried a dosa before so was interested to see what it'd be like when we went for lunch one Saturday. We weren't disappointed! Our starters of chicken lollipops were delicious, particularly the sauce, and our dosas were great too. Lovely, light pastry, tasty filling and excellent dips. Good service and decent value too. We'll be back.
S.
Ordered idli and rava dosa.Quick service and friendly staff..Food tastes authentic.Definitely a must try for south indian food lovers.
H.
Very nice food.
There's something for both veggies & meat eaters.
The classic Masala Dosa is worth a try
& the Chilli Chicken.
Prices are reasonable

I would say I can give 10 start rating for this restaurant. We were not resident of Nottingham and stayed here for this weekend and had been to this restaurant today! Dosa was excellent with chutneys and sambar! A+… we had biriyani as well and it was fantastic too! The ambience was neat and more over customer service was excellent. The boys were so friendly and approachable! மொத்ததுல நம்ம வீட்ல சாப்பிட்ட திருப்தி🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

All items we ordered were delicious and authentic, and staff were very friendly. We will 100% return.
A. L.
Delicious South indian food, had podi hot dosa and veg curry, 😋 definitely going back
A. A.
Never disappointed with the food, they are so polite but need to be a little quicker
P. S.
A very nice place for an Indian meal right in the city centre, very low price and very friendly and helpful staff, highly recommend delicious food

"Divine food - My taste-buds still remembers the food items"
I've been moved to Nottingham a year before, since then Dosa & Chutney became one of my favourite spots for Indian cuisine. Best part of their service is that they keep innovating and implement new ideas / fusion in the preparation of Indian food which makes them stand apart from other well-established restaurants here in Notts. Needless to say, the chicken curry which i tasted a week before sets the bar higher for me to match their taste at my home. Hats off to the captain of the ship & all the staffs working there because they not only serves food but also the brotherhood which always carries our day of visit to an extra mile.
s. t.
Amazing food and great service. It's fast and the food tastes amazing.
Must try paneer chilli and mango lassi.
S. K.
Its a really good place for authentic south indian food. The staff is great and helpful. Loved the experience.
M.
Amazing food, south indian food is underrated. My friend raju charan teja had recommended me this place. Im telling you, if you aint got a south indian mate, get one now otherwise you’ll miss gems like this place. 10/10, would recommend it 11/11 if that was the scale but it’s not. Only downside is the music is not loud enough, seriously i love my desi tunes so wanna hear every beat, melody and raag.
A. J.
Food was amazing no doubt. Some food quality consistency in my third visit. Good clean and hygiene practice. Your customer service is awful. You can’t feel comfortable while ordering or asking some suggestive item for make great food experience. They seems like robot topped with certain words of restaurant customer service, no one put their effort to customers happy. They seems very pressurised (no smiley faces!!). It’s seems I have to eat there. But trust me cause of great dishes I tempted to be there. I’ll do take away next time. No one say thank you or feel your presence!!
D. T.
Good for South Indian dishes but long wait time in weekends.
F. K.
Lovely food, friendly and helpful staff. I will be back for more.
We had two Dosa and the lunch buffet, everything was really well cooked and tasted great.
D. R.
Staff are quite polite n service is quite fast. All dosas were nice, Chili Coriander is my favourite. They have changed menu n price. Bit high on your pocket!
S. H. P.
Loved it. Food's great. People are good. Awesome.
A. T.
Really tasty south Indian food, must try.
R. T.
As an Indian I was not keen on trying an Indian Restaurant in UK, especially one that claims to make dosa! So I was genuinely surprised by how good the food was. The food transported me back to home. I will definitely be revisiting soon. The restaurant is pleasant, service is good and it is so affordable! I really loved it!!
C. H.
I was so excited to finally get to this restaurant and thankfully it was exactly what I had hoped. I had been craving dosas after coming back from a long stay in South India last year and I came away very happy.
We had masala dosa (served with chutney obvs) and masala poori and they were delicious. We also had rasam vada and paneer tikka as starters which were also yummy.
The staff were helpful and friendly and the service was quick. The only downside for me is that is pretty expensive for a dosa. This time I would have paid anything but I won’t be able to come as often as I would like (ie everyday).
Someday we will make it back for the lunch Buffett….
N. P.
We ordered biriyani. It was just an instant masala rice with few chicken pieces. Not worthy for 11 pounds. It wasn't biriyani at all. But fried rice and noodles were great.
J. A.
Excellent food. It was so fresh and delicious. My family would definitely go here at least once a week. We've been to lots of Indian restaurants but this has to be the best by far. I definitely recommend going here. It is a wonderful experience and I am certain you will enjoy it.
P. P.
Loved the podi dosa (spicy) and uttapam. I am sure other dishes taste great too. Very nice and homely feel, the staff is very polite and welcoming.
N. K.
Always love coming here for some dosa and chilli chicken, the flavors of any dish ordered here are so good, and prices are reasonable as well.
Staff are quite friendly and welcoming.
D. S.
I came with my family and it was the best experience. I ordered an chilly chicken and god it was nice it had spice and sweet at the same time one of the perfect food I ever had the customer service was the best I was waiting for this restaurant to open over lockdown and finally it opened and it still has our expectations covered
M. S.
Really nice dosas! Veg and non-veg options. Non-veg: Mutton Dosa and Mixed Kothu Parotta went down a treat. Veg: Gobu Manchurian and Masala Dosa were delicious. Would go again.
S. S.
Lunch buffet for 10.99 is worth it. Slow service and overrated otherwise.
J. B.
Best dosa in Nottingham and authentic South Indian food. A great atmosphere watching the street below. It feels like you are in India.
E. H.
Lovely food, and they looked after me well.
A. H.
Having travelled up from London, with my wife and 2 kids, after hearing wonderful stuff about this place I was expecting big things from Dosa and Chutney and wasn't disappointed. The quality of the food is excellent and brilliant value for money.
If you have never tried South Indian cuisine and have only been used to the heavy Punjab/Bengali style of Indian cooking you have to try here. The flavours are far more intricate and delicate.
The staff are wonderfully friendly and happy to explain or advise on dishes. The owner even popped out to check we had a nice meal.
Highly recommended from someone who enjoyed their family meal there last night and will be returning whenever I come back to Nottingham.
R. T.
Totally excellent. Great tasting authentic south Indian food
H. P.
Very fast and affordable with lots of delicious food options!
V. V.
The food was exceptional. The food was authentic South India food. Dosai, mixed rice, vegetable curries. Although I don’t eat meat, my friends, who were along, endorsed the meat dishes similarly. The staff was very friendly. The service was exceptional. Overall, I recommend them with enthusiasm.
V. K.
If anyone is craving for a good south Indian food and best price this is the place. I have eaten here many times, it gave me a complete essence of South Indian flavor. I request them to come on deliveroo also. For the price the food is not bad. It's worth trying it.
K. A.
Truly a great way to experience South Indian cuisine, it tasted amazing and wasn't entirely expensive. I would definitely come again.
A. J.
Excellent service and amazing food. As good as if not better than the food back home. Must visit. The pepper chicken was to die for. The dosas are heavenly but a little oily. Doesn't matter. Still delicious. Great value for money and the perfect introduction to South Indian food for anyone living in England.
S. D.
Wow wow what a delicious food! I had a kottu rotti. It was amazing. It brings back the home taste and the staff more friendly. They didn't took long to serve the foods.
A. W.
I had plain dosa. Was good quantity for its price and love the instrumental played in the restaurant.
N. S.
Tastes authentic south indian. Pricey though!!
R. D.
Great food! Authentic,spicy and tasty.
S. B.
It was my 1st visit, definitely go back again.
The staff & the food were brilliant.
Well done 👍
S. M.
Amazing, truly authentic south indian food. Amazing staff and chef. It was a Home away from Home.
S. B.
This place is amazing for the price. It’s half the price of places like Calcutta club, but only marginally lower quality.
According to my South Indian colleague, it’s pretty good (relative to his impression of Indian food in England generally)
A. A.
This is the second time I visited this restuarant after the visit on second day they opened. I can see lot of improvements from menu and service side. The food is 100% tasty South Indian food. It's Guaranteed ! We ordered Non Veg Thali or Sappadu / Meals ( local slang). All tasted Fantastic ! Especially, Chettinad Chicken Curry with Naan was fantastic!. The customer service is really good and satisfying. Much improved when compared on the second day we visited. Only point that needs to be mentioned is the time taken to deliver to table is slightly higher after you order..but given south indian foods take time to prepare this can be ignored. Overall it is a good restuarant and will recommend. Don't forget to order Idli's first as it will be quick before you get the main menu (in my case it is Thali) delivered to your table.
D. K.
Absolutely top notche.
Must try - chilli chicken and dosas.
A. B.
I went to this place after lockdown asI was missing the authentic taste of south India. To be honest I wasn't disappointed. The authenticity and flavors of the food were just delicious and fantastic as they always were. 5 stars to the service and quality
m. s.
I can't believe this place.. a South Indians paradise in Nottingham! Amazing menu! It was a very tough decision to make for me to be honest. So much variety. And the price? Damn! Totally worth the quantity and quality! This place reminded me of A2b.. the dosa's were proper crisp like they should be.. and the different chutneys were great! Sambhar was really good. I am truly happy today. Service was excellent as well!
The only reason why I give this place 4/5 stars is because I am let down by the comfort of the place. The decor puts me down and I do not feel comfortable. The chandelier is too bright and the sofas are a mis-match. The seating isn't comfortable. Nevertheless, the food tops it all! I can't brag enough about this place. Finally some one is actually showing what true Indian food is.. I am blown! I am happy! Ecstatic actually!
Good job guys! Keep it up!!
M. s.
Great tasting food. However the staff were very confused and got our order wrong twice.then didn't bring all the dishes. Serious lack of communication and organisation. Very very frustrating meal having to ask where is my naan etc. Wish they would sort this out as the food is amazing. Portions size bit small for my liking.

Very nice food
m. “.
One of my first ever "Dosa" experiences. Went for the green chilli and coriander variety which was knock your socks off spicy, exactly what I wanted!
Quality of the ingredients and value for money is top notch.
The only thing that I could argue was slightly lacking was the amount of time it took the food to arrive. Notably one of my colleagues receiving their food a good 10 minutes after everyone else's.
P. W.
Excellent food, including delicious and unfamiliar dishes. Very friendly staff and reasonably priced.
K. G.
Food was good. The service needs improvement, very disappointed when your starts come, and you had to ask for plates, not once, but twice. Than our dosa came so late, but we notice that the people who came after us got there food before and they had order dosa too, upsetting, as this was for my family. I shall not be going there again. :( when we spoke to the manager, he didn't seen to understand what I was trying to explain to him.
C. V.
Absolutely loved the food! The prices are amazing and so affordable . Honestly the best, most authentic tasting South Indian I've had in the UK .
Ready assured, it's going to be my go to restaurant from now on
D. K.
By far, one of the best south indian food I’ve eaten in England. And I’m glad it’s in my neighbourhood and don’t have to take a trip out to London or Leicester. The food is authentic, delicious and very reasonably priced. Service is top-notch and the staff try their best to ensure every guest is properly taken care of. I’ve visited them at least 7-8 times in the last month and honestly have lost any interest in cooking Indian food at home ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I’ve tried their dosas, starters, thali, biriyani, chicken kothhuparotta etc and they’ve all been brilliant. Don’t miss their karaikudi fish curry + rice, it’s in a league of its own. I wish Dosa n Chutney at Notts all the very best in keeping up the great work. Thank you!
k. r.
As the name it is best place for trying dosas and other authentic south indian dishes. They also serve drinks at the place. The ambience is nice and the taste of food is also good. Unfortunately the place don't have a wheelchair accessible entrance.
D. L.
Food is really good here but the service leaves a lot to desire. The staff are slow at taking orders and don't seem to know much about hospitality. The food does save the place as it is genuinely good, but if service is what your after, head elsewhere.
P. A.
Went today just as it opened. Excellent food - hands down the only authentic South Indian fare in Nottingham and at a very reasonable price. We only tried the dosa, idli vada and chilli chicken but were quite full seeing as the quantity is quite generous and they seem to be the only restaurant that serves so many chutneys (just like back home in India). However we had an inordinately long wait (an hour!) as the people running it seemed to be busy catering to their friends and family (we seemed out of place as we were neither but dosa is bae hence I had to go just as it opened). Will definitely go again as the food is excellent and Im hoping that today's long wait was a one off due to being opening day. Highly recommend!
D.
The food is very delicious. I ate Chiicken Briyani while my friend tried the Maysore Masala Dosa for drinks we ordered Mango Lassi and Lemonade. It was wonderful experience. Should visit. The place is very clean and the service is very prompt
E. C.
Brilliant & delicious food, at very reasonable prices. The food took me back to when I was in India - Highly recommend!
M. H. E.
Food is delicious here. The staff are friendly. Making payment is a hassle though and it is one of the reasons I don't visit this place as often as I would like to. Splitting bills and paying with cards is problematic since they have a minimum "£10 for card payment" policy.
S. (.
The staff are so sweet and the food is incredible 😍
N. M.
The food us good but service is pathetic. We had to wait 30 minutes and asked them twice to atleast come and take our order. Still waiting for the food to come to table was real long.
Should have been more organized, I will think twice about coming here again just because of this poor service. Star ratings are only based on food.
A. M.
A really good place to eat traditional South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine. Not expensive and very good quality and the staff are very friendly.
N. K.
Best Dosa I've had in Notts. Spice was easy on stomach. Staff were very polite and helpful in meeting my dietary requirements. Reasonable pricing. Will definitely visit again.
C. S.
This was an amazing find. One word that defined this restaurant is quality. We were in a group of five people where each one ordered a different dish. Every dish was made to perfection. Their lemon rice, idly, dosa, everything was good.
S. V.
South Indian and north Indian foods are available with reasonable price. Very good taste and amazing customer handling
M. J.
Fine place place to explore the South Indian cuisine.
S. K.
If you are having a really bad work day as a South Indian, this ll be your comfort food. Manchurian as done back home, must try kanava curry and veechu but the best of best is dosai as the name suggests. Was really happy with food except the egg kothu that had a bit of chineese touch to it. Busy place but the food is of high worth the wait.
S. M.
Lovely food. Nice and quite. In the centre of town.
M. j.
Good place to explore the South Indian Food.
a. v.
Food is good, masters in South Indian food, good variety. Service is quite slow, sometimes have waited for an hour or more. If order dosa, it will come within minutes, all other dishes may/will take time.
K. T.
Simple surroundings with delicious and authentic food, completed by very friendly and helpful service. Recommended!
R. K.
Saravana Bhavan have some serious competition!! This place has really authentic Indian food. We had the thali and 4 feet dosa. Really tasty! Including sambar, chutneys. Everything was A1!
Serving staff were attentive, timely and courteous. The restaurant itself was very clean.
Probably will only request owner to keep toilets clean and smelling nice as that is truly a stain on this otherwise superb restaurant.
Also invest some time in training staff in their own health i.e posture while serving so they don't hurt their backs in the long run..
P. S.
Very delicious Indian and Srilankan foods are served here. Prices are a little higher than the average prices in similar restaurants. Wait time us Little high during weekends.
A. A.
Dosa and Chutney provides authentic South Indian and Srilankan cousine food. Best thing to eat here is Dosa, Idli etc with one of the best range of chutneys. A range of North Indian food is also available even though it may not be the best in that class. There is usually very less waiting and reservation is not required.
C. O.
Delicious southern Indian food. A huge choice on the menu, vege, meat, fish. The dosas were huge. Very authentic. Good service, friendly staff and child friendly. Inexpensive for city centre.
A. S.
Authentic south Indian food is served. Food is tasty. Lot of vegetarian choice is available. Paneer tikka, Paneer 65 and vegetarian thali is recommended. Dosa is also good. Recommended for south Indian food.
They should make their service fast.
Food taste =4
Ambiance = 3.5
Service = 3.5
Value for money = 4

Very good authentic South Indian Restaurant in Nottingham. In Nottingham this is the only south indian restaurant. Ambience is very nice and decent amount of space inside the restaurant. Restaurant has got a dedicated website through which you see the menu and would advise you to book the table well in advance. Hotel crew is decent and well mannered. Coming on to food, you get lot of varieties of starters for bothetarian and non vegetarians. To justify the name of the restaurant, it has got many varieties of dosa. If anyone fond of paratha please try kottu paratha as it is very good here. All credit and debit cards are accepted and they too accept the cash too. No dedicated car parking by the restaurant but that's ok there are plenty of street parking where you can park and display near by the hotel. After a long time shopping instead of having pizza and McDonald's biting the dosa will give a good taste to the buds. The place is tidy as well from hygienic perspective. I would advise the hotel crew to continue the standards in the way it is. Finally good place and have a good time.😊

First time today. The menu has a number of chillis 🌶 beside each dish so you know whether it is hot or not.
I ordered a korma as I don't like it too spicy and there were no chillis beside it, My partner does so he ordered his dish with 2 chillis 🌶🌶 which he said was very spicy as well.
My korma came and I could hardly eat it as it was so spicy. On enquiring, I was informed that the chef had put chillis in mine. Who would put chillis in a korma which is supposed to be one of the mildest curries ever. I was also told next time to ask the chef not to put chillis in it.
How silly.
A. K.
Dosa & Chutney serves authentic South Indian food & is it's staff is courteous & friendly. As a group we had fun....the Vada Sambhar & the Podi Dosa was outstanding. Kudos to the entire staff for making it a lovely experience.
G. T.
The food is amazing and prices are great for city centre restaurant... the staff are very welcoming and cordial.. the only downside is they don't have baby changing and as restaurant is on first floor, you need to lift the pram or strollers upstairs...
W. M.
Amazing authentic south indian/Srl Lankian food
s.
First time here and trying a Dosa, and it was brilliant! I had a Shredded chicken tikka dosa with a samosa and it was all delicious. Best meal I’ve had in town in a long time and will certainly be coming back
W. H.
Food was excellent, really recommends the karakadi fish curry, lamb briyani and dosa was amazing! Really missing the authenticity South Indian food post lockdown. Amazing food! Keep up with the good food.
N. R.
Best South Indian food, always bring my friends and family here.
B. B.
One of the best South Indian restaurant in East Midlands. Weekends are quite busy and had to wait for 10min to get a free table. Located within the heart of City Center.
N.
Very tasty food, been to a few south indian places in Notts and Leicester, must say this is one of the places to never miss. Really good service too, would highly recommend.
M. M.
Though the entrance is narrow, the interior is spacious. The staff are kind and quick. The value for portion is fair. The only drawback is the washrooms, which would benefit from maintenance.
Overall, the experience has been positive.
H. D.
Visited this along with friends in Nottingham. Service and ambience is great. The food is very tasty and authentic. My kids loved the dosa. We will be regular attenders.
E. K.
Every item we ordered was delicious. Friendly service. I completely recommend
A. M.
Got a takeaway , food was perfect ,tried their maysor masala dosa and vada . Maybe next time we'll eat in. staff was helpful and polite . Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner , reasonable price .
E. B.
Food was tasty, service is relaxed. Really good authentic Indian food. Was cool to try my first Dosa too.
A. S.
Food was great, had chilli panner, mogo 65 and masala dosa.... All quite authentic and tasty. Large spacious restaurant, only thing was it seemed quite disorganised took a while to get seated even though plenty of space. I hope it's just teething issues.
T. C.
Great little place in the centre of nottingham. Had the lunch buffet which was nice and reasonable for what you get.
M. A.
To be honest the food was incredibly delicious, however, it took them over half an hour to bring the food. To be fair the delay was not any of staff's fault but I think it has to be mentioned Nonetheless, everything was really nice.
M. J.
A bit surprised that such a low key entrance leads to such an open space. Concept is good, food was very good, portions generous, all at a very reasonable price. Will return!
R. P.
Good food and Tasty dosas. Little disorganized on the service, but it is still new and can get better over time. Definitely tastiest south Indian food in Nottingham.
U. S.
Food feels like home... and guaranteed native south indian taste.... loved it❣A typical south Indian restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant for mini experience of South Indian tasty food and lovely service.

Quite an eye-opener... I didn't expect to find such a nice South-Indian restaurant here in Nottingham. Haven't had many dishes yet, but the ones I had were very well made 😊
F. M.
Been looking to eat thosai/dosa for a long time and this place doesn't dissapoint you. Had Dosa Masala and Vada, delicious and affordable. If you're from Malaysia and you miss indian food this is the place to eat aunthentic indian food ❤
R. S.
I ate Thali which was good however the Rasam that was served seemed a little weird. The liquid in the Rasam was piping hot but the Vegetables were ice cold. Was kind of strange.
j. j.
Dosa's are amazing but however the meat options do not taste good
M. R.
They serve nice south indian food both tiffin items and rice. The chettinad curry was good. The staff is very hospitable.
