Lucky is one of the best Chinese restaurant In Nottingham. I always come back every time I’m in the area. The food is always fresh and a amazing atmosphere. Staff are always super welcoming and super friendly. I would highly recommend.

salted chilly squid was good, could have been cut in smaller chunks, but the taste was good . seafood udon could also have more variety, only had 4 prawns, 2 crabsticks and 2 small pieces of squid, was a little bit too greasy , however again the taste was decent. will come back, as it is a popular local venue, but next time might try different dishes, perhaps following chefs recommendstions

Nice meal but surprised us by asking for cash when offering card though the sign said cash only for lunch and takeaway but not for dinner. Very accommodating when it came to adapting the menu to requests.

Ordered food for takeaway for two people. The staff there were really pleasant, friendly and having fun with all of the customers which was really nice. Although we didn't stay there to have our food the place is small but has a cozy atmosphere (nothing too fancy). Our food was ready within 10 minutes of ordering. Although the food was served fast, hot and fresh I do feel that the taste of the food could be improved.

Hands down the best Chinese I've ever had. I visit time and time again as the food is just so great. The staff are also friendly and I love the atmosphere. Deliveries are pretty much always on time and the food is fresh and hot.

I actually really love the food in Luckys and the service is really good too. However, the last few times I have been there the part-time employee were always scolded even with our presence and it made us felt really bad for him. I later came to know a few of my other friends from chatting that they too felt the same. Surely good food and service towards customer are important but I think scolding your employee right in front of everyone in the restaurant isnt really nice and respectful.

straight up delicious - their salt and pepper spare ribs, aubergine with minced pork and mapo tofu have been propping me up throughout medical school (and I'm about to graduate, so they are doing a decent job at giving me life!). only downside - the cash only thing. they should get a card machine like all other businesses in the area!

Had lunch and ordered 4 dishes. Requested no MSG to be added (unsure if they use it but wanted to be on the safe side). Each dish was very nice, well seasoned and appetising. However the boiled rice was a bit hard for my liking as I like my rice to be softer. The free jasmine tea was fragrant and delicious. Reasonably priced and I would definitely visit again.

There are reasons behind things happened. Sometime the delivery took a while due to the number of deliveries the restaurant need to do. People only order the food if it tastes good, right? If it tastes excellent, the demand will be high. Then restaurant will be very busy. That is a chain of logic. Lucky' staff always try their best to provide the best food with highest quality to their customers. There is nothing wrong with their hard working, only if you think food tastes like heaven is something wrong.

As always, the food was delicious. I ordered and waited to take away and it took no time at all, perhaps 5 minutes and the food was ready. Always been a friendly place with a warm welcome whether you are dining in or taking away. Top notch!

First visit, over the moon to spot chkn in yellowbean, and ma po tofu, neither is common, both are awesome. Service was a little slow, but very polite. This was a lunchtime visit, and there were about 12 customers eating - all were Chinese, now that's a good sign, I say. I will definitely be going back here, food very good. So, four years later, we have been back many times. Still awesome. So what if you have to wait a while, its not actually that long - if you are really in a hurry you would be at McDs! But you won't get food like this. If I could id move in!

Welcomed very warmly, the menu has a very wide variety of choice and example pictures to match numbers which was helpful with choosing dishes. The honey spring rolls were a lovely golden crisp and nicely filled, the flavours complimented each other very well. The satay king prawn and lucky special fried rice had a good ratio of meat to vegetables to rice. The satay in particular was the best I've ever eaten. Perfectly balanced between the earthy peanut to sweet ponapple with chunky onions. The green peppers I usually avoid due to bitterness but these ones were delicious. All in all a very nice filling meal, will be back to try many more of their menu.

The 5 stars is purely for the food. I can look past the service, but honestly it can be really chaotic when they are busy with a full restaurant and many take away orders. In terms of food it is definitely one of the best around the area.

Great selection of food to cater for everyone but the waiting time for delivery and eating in is LONG on the weekends (especially in the evening). They always seemed to be under staffed or in some sort of unorganised chaos. Food is worth the wait, but if you are really hungry maybe try somewhere else!!!

What a cracking little chinese restaurant, great food, a very homely feel. All be it a little compact shall we say but that adds to the atmosphere. I have had nicer chinese food but can't complain about the choice and quality offered here. Give it a go I doubt you'll be disappointed.

If you would like to experience mainland Chinese cooking this is the place to eat. This is mandarin cooking from people from mainland China not modified Cantonese which is what prevails in most Chinese restaurants in the UK Try the spicy cumin lamb.

I have been living here for a while now and tried different chinese restaurants, I think this is probably the best chinese restaurant in Beeston! If you are up for a chinese-style dinner (which means sharing with everyone around the table many different dishes, accompanied by white rice and tea), try the 'Fish Fillets in Hot Chilli Oil', the 'hong shao rou', the 'Dry-Fried French Beans' and the aubergines. If you are looking for a one-meal dish and you like noodle soups, you should definitely try the 'Zhengzhou Beef Noodle Soup'.

Lucky Cantonese have been providing lunch for Changan every Monday for the past 4 years, they provide 15-25 meals to mainly Chinese co-workers. The food has always been on time and perfect the Chinese guys love it
