Brilliant food and service. The portions were very big. Came for a graduation dinner and they treated us to a special dessert for the grad. Will definitely come back.

When I see a Michelin guide restaurant I expect much more to be honest! A nice Indian restaurant but only that!! I would reconsider putting it in Michelin restaurants.

Very rich deep-flavored curry. The naan was amazingly soft and delicious. The cook there has superb technique on fried rice, keeping the dish dry, you would not find a drop of oil in that rice. Also prices for the wine are reasonable.

What an incredible night we had at Memsaab. 34 of us- excellent meal and impeccable service in a beautiful restaurant. I would definitely recommend and I wish I lived in Nottingham to go back sooner. What a great choice! Thanks to AA Gill. He knew his stuff!

My family came up from London, we popped into this resturant, with a four year old, whom they cooked grilled chicken, rice and veg, our food was delicious. They were so accommodating.
The staff so lovely and
professional.thank you all for a lovely relaxing evening.

Delicious food, a wide range of flavours and dishes to choose from. The goan fish curry was especially good as the fish was so soft and cooked perfectly. The staff are attentive and helpful.

Very nice place to have lunch or dinner. However we were there for the celebration of wedding party. It was a three course meal & it was fantastic. Staff are very helpful & ready to serve anytime. Thank you V much!

Wow, what can we say ?! Our first time dining here with our best friends. The food, venue, service, attention to detail was second to none, we had an amazing time, thank you so very much. We can't wait to return. X

Absolutely amazing! It isn't normally somewhere within my price range as it is a little on the expensive side, but with the 50% off scheme I couldn't pass up on the chance to visit and I'm so glad I did! Excellent allergen advice on the menu, every dish is marked with allergens contained which made it super easy to order. The service was perfect, food was perfect and the atmosphere was perfect. I will definitely be saving up to visit again in the future! The butter chicken and paneer starter are unreal 😍

Amazing food, well priced, friendly staff and proper curry’s! What more can you ask for!?
Second time going and we’ll be back.

I came here with my best friend for her birthday and it was the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in the Uk!
We’ve tried many different Indian restaurants but this one is unmatched!
Service was 10/10! All staff were very smartly dressed and super friendly! They even gave us a mocktail on the house.
The food was Devine and portions were huge.
Well worth the money!
Can’t wait to go back again!

I want to get the good bit out the way first - the meal itself was excellent. The welcome on arrival was cool and service was I would say brusque, but efficient - certainly not particularly friendly and no smiles! However, be that as it may, what I do take issue with is that at no stage, either at the time of booking or upon arrival, were we informed that our table was to be turned, although we expected it to be. At just over an hour and a half into our meal, having not long finished eating, and having paid the bill of over £200 but still having some wine left both in the bottle and our glasses and mindful that the table may be required, and being subject what I feel were disapproving looks, (although still nothing had been said about the table was required), we were asked to vacate the table before finishing our drinks. This I find totally unacceptable. Had we been informed beforehand of the time the table was required, we would have happily obliged. I do not suppose Memsaab are going to lose any sleep over it, but I'm not intending to patronise the establishment again.

Food was lovely & quality. Staff friendly. Nothing too much trouble was an anniversary meal before going to see Bryan Adams at the Motorpoint arena

It's all about the food which is the best in Indian cuisine that you would wish to try. Just first class, huge compliments to the chef.

Without any doubt, the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. . . Authentic taste and excellent decor. The attention to detail is extraordinary. Service wise i wasn't impressed, as few were really pleasing and friendly while the more senior staff really were not welcoming and at times looked at the guests with some attitude ! This is the one and only issue I found with the place and this really is upsetting and needs to be changed. Will I go to the restaurant again ? Definitely yes. . Just for the yummy, finger lickin food. .

Went to Memsaab last night for the first time with my Wife....She is Gluten, Egg and Soya intolerant.....had a fabulous meal.........it was beautiful........fine dining Indian........but the food was the best ever from an Indian restaurant.......a wonderful experience throughout as no irritations from my wife's point of view with the food with her allergies......very refreshing........we will definitely go again very soon

One of the best Indian restaurant in Nottingham. Impressed with the quality of food and service. Lovely interior and verity of Indian dishes. Waiters were helpful with making recommendations.
But having said that, the menu rates are little over priced and above to that the service charge being added to the bill 10%, should be optional as most restaurants are or the menu prices should be less.

I visited for the first time in a number of years last weekend with a group of friends.
Let me say first of all, service was attentive and polite, the surroundings pleasant and well presented.
I only give MemSaab the three stars because the food was disappointing for me. The chicken tikka in particular I found lacked flavour. And that is a major negative for me. It certainly looked the part, but the visual expectation was let down by the taste realisation.
Portions also I thought, were on the small side. Naan breads tiny compared to some rivals. Matched by costs on the high side. Not a great combination to encounter.
For me an average experience at MemSaab. Maybe I caught them on bad day food wise.

I had a delicious meal here. The starters were amazing, I had the vegetable samosas on which the pastry was perfect and crispy, the filling was so flavoursome with a great texture. My friend has the scallops which were fantastic. My friend had the mixed tandoori main, it was very nice, although perhaps more than I would expect to pay, the curry sauce that came with it had a strong taste of tomato soup. I had the special that was sold to me as medium-hot home style chicken was not hot in the slightest and was not like any home cooking I had had. It was still pleasant though. If I were to go again I would order different mains - perhaps just sticking to ordering lots of starters as they were so good!
Z. A.
Wow my mouth was in heaven, each morsel was a delight. Felt like I was about to cry with pure pleasure and ecstasy. Great décor, exceptional service and environment. Very comfortable and no rush environment to enjoy a traditional Asian food.
M. A.
Lovely place, nicely decorated and lit. Food was extremely tasty and well presented and staff were very efficient.
M. B.
Really good indian food. Prices are really good and service is quick and attentive. I would highly reccomend
A. A.
The food is good and well spiced. But you have to order at least 16£ per person or you can't eat here, as the waiter said. We didn't like the service. I waited 15minutes to order an additional naan but no one showed up.
H. B.
We visited MemSaab last night and can honestly say this was the best service I have experienced in a very long time. Food was great and really good value. Beautiful restaurant too, highly recommend.
M. I.
Arrived here at 8pm on a Saturday evening, place was really lively and the atmosphere was brilliant.
Service was abit slow but we didn't mind as there were alot of customers inside.
In terms of food, the starters were very flavoursome but they were expensive - £9.95 for 2 pieces of Tandoori King Prawns and £8.50 for 3 pieces of lamb chops!!!!
The mains were average and could have been much better especially for the price. When you are paying £15 for a curry you expect the portion to be generous but it wasn't.
Presentation was perfect as seen by the pictures attached.
The biggest problem was that you cannot order anything that isn't on the menu. For example, no Lamb Karahi on the menu but they serve Chicken Karahi... I asked if I could have the Lamb Karahi and the waiter advised they cannot deviate from the menu. Very strange given it should take the same amount of time to make either curry.
Overall I would come back to Memsaab if I was ever in the area but I would also be willing to try other places.

This is indeed one of the best Indian restaurants we've been to.When we are traveling around England we have a habit of going to an Indian restaurant one our way back and we go to different cities/various places and I can say this one was one of the nicest we've been. The prices might be higher than the ones of your favourite curry place, but once you go there you will understand that it's totally worth it.
The ambiance was nice, the interior design ok (not as 'kitchy' as most Indian places),the service good, but the best part was the actual food. I would recommend this place to all my friends going to Nottingham!
M. S.
Really good wholesome Indian food. The menu is simple with a limited number of options but they are the most popular options that anyone would want. Food was really good and service very swift as well. Good choice of drinks. I'd go back again and again. Highly recommended
M. B.
My goodness this place will blow your taste buds away. Every course was just perfect. Amazing service and very attentive and supportive with your menu choices. I recommend eating here if you want an amazing experience and out of this world food. Table of 3 with 3 courses and sides £85. I would pay that anytime for the experience we just had. Thanks and I will see you again next visit to Nottingham
N. K.
Attended a small gathering of friends at the restaurant last night. Had the set menu which I don't usually go for as prefer to choose what I like. The food was yet again excellent. Starters were well cooked and delicately spiced. Had 5 different starters on my plate- lamb Chop, fish tikka, paneer tikka, and so on. Extremely tasty. A lovely touch was a small salad encased in a dried crispy mango shell.
The mains were abundant with 6 different vegetable and meat dishes to choose from along with pilau rice and a selection of naan breads. Something for everyone or if you're like me- taste it all!
I chose gulab Jamun and ice cream for dessert. Well executed and presented.
I am a foodie and can honestly say Memsaab Nottingham for quality of food is right up there NATIONALLY. And all with very good service. 👍
J. E.
Generally excellent service, great food and wines. Mem Saab is a good benchmark restaurant for more general fine dining, more upmarket than a typical curry house, but not as fancy as a Michelin star restaurant it sits in a nice place where its good enough for a celebration, but also if you just fancy a bit of treat without breaking the bank.
It's kept its reputation for some time so I suspect it will endure well into the future.
A. B.
Mouth orgasm, properly authentic butter chicken worth selling your granny for, this place is amazing. Curry a bit pricier than other restaurants, but the serving is huge.
K. B.
Great service , Great food . Would definitely recommend anybody to go & have a meal there. But do think a service charge should be down to the customer not the restaurant, but it wont stop me from going back.
J. W.
Really good food, went for a Christmas party, very good service despite being busy, plenty of delicious food. The menus was set but very good, starter was varied and very tasty, the main courses were exceptional very tender lamb dish, a flavoursome king prawn dish and a few others I didn't have room to try. Desert was a very good cheesecake. Attentive staff made sure drinks were kept topped up... highly recommended
M. G.
Great value, amazing original or more traditional Indian food and a very professional service. Actually cannot fault this restaurant in any significant way. The only thing that detracts a little from the visual appeal of the place, are the sheer number of award stickers in the window 😉.
I had the stuffed lamb (picture included).
Our group was very fortunate to get a table however, we turned up without a booking. I would highly recommend booking in order to avoid disappointment. The restaurant gets very busy, but seemingly the service doesn't suffer as a result of this and I would say the bustle of the crowd adds to the atmosphere of the place.
I would recommend dressing smartly, shirt (ideally a tie), trousers and shoes for a guy and similar/equivalent smart attire for a lady.
S.
Exquisite food. This is a true fine dining experience. Only managed to get pictures of the starters.
We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was fairly quiet at the time. However while we enjoyed our meal the restaurant became very busy but still we continued to receive brilliant service.
It is true this is an expensive restaurant but it is fine dining. We ordered two starters which were quite large in portion size, they were very tasty. Then for mains we ordered a vegetarian dish and a meat dish with nans and pulau rice. The pilau rice was the only thing which I can say I have had better. The lamb was excellent and the Paneer Burji was equally amazing.
I would strongly suggest anyone to visit this restaurant to truly experience true Indian food. With brilliant service.
R. N.
We ordered a home delivery, the service was outstanding, arriving on the exact scheduled time, the food was as per normal exceptional. Thank you.
G. P.
Absolutely stunning fine dining Indian food. I have been before some 4 years ago when I last visited Nottingham. It was my 1st choice yesterday and I was not disappointed. The service from the team was 2nd to none. Nothing was to much trouble. I for one and the rest of my group cannot wait to return. Just a foot note. Myself and all our group are licensees in hospitality.
H. T.
Excellent food. The ostrich in particular was very tender. Superb service after I spilled lassi over the table, a number of staff made sure I was clean and dry and brought me a replacement drink. Thanks again.
S. M.
Really top quality meal and restaurant experience. The staff were really helpful and always at hand to assist.
The food was of an exceptional quality and this restaurant had an interesting menu, not your standard traditional curries but really tasty.
M. W.
This restaurant was recommended to us by a good friend and boy were we glad that we went for dinner there while we were in Nottingham.
Their food was absolutely delicious. Every single bite of our meal was a release of pure pleasure. From the poppadoms (with unique sauces) through the starters (sabzi selection) to the main (keema matar), everything tasted amazing!
The service was also top notch, as was the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. An excellent evening meal. A must if you are I'm Nottingham looking for a nice evening meal.
E. S.
We loved our meal here. One of the best Indian meals we've ever had. We're from Edinburgh but would visit Nottingham again just to come for a meal here. The food, service and decor were first class
B. D. M.
Nice food, bright and plenty of tables, open till 11pm or so.
The prawns were huge and the food was tasty, however I had a terrible reaction to the prawns, which is strange since the last time I had a reaction to prawns was about 15 years ago and I have been eating prawns regularly.
Anyways, since I almost went into shock, so don't think I'd want to go back again.
P. L. M.
Just exquisite, a confident careful and thoughtful service followed by fantastic food, if I have criticism is that the decor is a little tired.
h. h.
The food was nice, but considering it's Michelin star restaurant i would have expected the waiters to have be more attentive to service and attempted to make you feel more welcome and have a little conversation, maybe it was because we was a couple and not a big group. We waited around 30mins from starters to main course but time is no issue as Michelin star restaurant it means cooking must be done with perfection and that can take time.

Authentic Indian (Punjabi) food. There is Goan fish curry on the menu which you won't find in many restaurants. Ask for recommendations on food and they are happy to suggest something which is not on menu.
T. W.
The food was very tasty, and you could tell it was prepared fresh, me and my partner loved it. Service was very friendly and professional. The atmosphere and decor was really nice as soon as we walked in. will more then happily visit again.
F. C.
Lovely place and lovely food, little bit of a wait for mains but the place was full so expected ,very good staff . Highly recommended

Fabulous dining experience, with delicious food and perfect service in a relaxing yet uniquely designed restaurant.

Beautifully appointed restaurant offering very attentive service and fine dining.

Super tasty food, v good service, prices reasonable.

Great tasting food great dining experience
R. C.
Really tasty food with professional service. I particularly enjoyed the goan vegetable curry.
N. S.
MemSaab is essentially upmarket indian cuisine with upmarket service. Great for an outing with friends or family! It maybe pricey, but it is worth it.
P. C.
20 years since my last visit to Nottingham and was delighted that Memsaab was still around. Newer bigger premises but they have lost none of their personal touch and the food was absolutely delicious. Considering the accolades they have received it was still great value for money. Daughter now studying at Trent so will be back many times. Really looking forward to my next visit
D. W.
Great menu. Food was gorgeous. Service was superb.
m. R.
We went here for new years eve, the atmosphere and food was lovley. The staff can not do enough for you. See you again soon :)
J. D.
Can't beat the Tandoori Ostrich!! Brilliant food - quite pricey, but really is the best Indian restaurant.
S. G.
Very good service, exceptionally clean and a lovely relaxed vibe. The food was delicious with good sized portions and a nice variety available. Definitely would reccommend 😊
R. F.
I very rarely leave a review about anything online but this place deserves to be mentioned!!
If you love Indian Cuisine then this restaurant will not disappoint in the slightest, the food and service were second to none, I would genuinely travel from Bradford to Nottingham just to enjoy another meal at MemSaab. Superb Thanks!!
T. M.
Can't fault the food but they want you out pretty quickly
D.
Fantastic evening with my wife. Great surroundings and wonderful food.
J. D.
Beautiful Indian restaurant with fantastic food and very attentive staff. You may have to pay a little more but it is well worth it, you certainly get your money's worth.
A. K.
The food is always excellent here, and was particularly good tonight. Sometimes the service can be slow and fussy.
N. P.
Food was amazing, tried ostrich for the first time absolutely delicious
F. 1.
Excellent service and food. Imaginative modern presentation of food. Can't wait to return
A. T.
We went for the early evening set menu. I would probably not recommend this set menu for others because the value for money was not great.
For one, the starters were tiny. I got the chicken kebab and while it was delicious, you only received one kebab. The mains were very tasty, would definitely recommend the butter chicken here. The set menu also came with a small piece of naan which was great and they were even kind enough to serve garlic naan at our request.
All in all, I will be returning but will be ordering a la carte next time.
Also, don’t bother with the masala chai it wasn’t great.
C. A.
I am always blown away with the high level of service and attention when dining. The food is amazing and they always have something a bit different on the menu. Altogether a very special dining experience.
H. S.
Our favourite Indian restaurant in Nottingham. The food is always luscious and the staff are a delight. When the Indian cricket team eat here whilst playing at Trent Bridge then you know it has to be good.
G. J.
Excellence in Indian cuisine. Spacious and luxurious venue, but in no way pretentious. Service is exceptional. You are made to feel welcome and special. A model of customer service at it's best. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Food is excellent. John Dory starter was excellent and presented beautifully. Others had soft shell crab and ostrich and were very happy. Chicken Karachi main was nicely done. Lovely chicken and a dish full of rich, complex flavours. Others had butter chicken and tandoori selection. All were excellent. It is obvious that this is a notch above your average Indian cooking and good value. Best restaurant experience I have had in Nottingham or anywhere to be honest. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
M. H. E.
The experience was okay. The service was great but the food was underwhelming. The place is pretty expensive as well.
S. L.
Michelin star restaurant food was really nice
I don't think the staff were as attentive as a few Indian restaurants that aren't award winning
Still all that being said
The tikka ostrich was really nice
Tikka salmon was ok
The chicken tikka masala was so nice with keema rice
K. M.
The food and service were exceptional! After the poppadoms we commented to the waiter how nice the apricot and orange sauce was, and he bought more out for us with the starter. With the mains, my fiance ordered the wrong naan (don't ask), so we asked if we could swap it and they gave us the one we wanted for no extra charge. Even our water jug was refreshed without us asking. You must try the ostrich starter, it's just something else!! Oh yeah, and the curry is gorgeous. All the staff were just great, can't recommend enough.
M. P.
Great atmosphere and good customer service. Food was nice and small portions so you can order more. However, I would like to see more vegan vegetarian options such as meat free ones, like Birmingham does, a range.
J. S.
Excellent restaurant. Food was exquisite (would highly recommend the ostrich as a starter); amongst the best Indian curry I've ever had. Also liked how much effort had gone into pairing the wine with the food.
Service was also excellent - we had a very small wait for our table, no more than five minutes, and got a glass of complimentary champagne each by way of apology.
Would highly recommend :)
J. D.
Positives: food was great.
Negatives: no enforcement of Covid rules. Some staff wandering round with visors worn like baseball caps, not covering their faces. Multiple large table groups walking round restaurant without masks on, which was fine according to the manager as they had been temperature checked.
S. A.
During my stay in Nottingham for work reasons, I was recommended this place by a colleague. I decided to try and now I come back very often. Excellent food! The best Indian restaurant I have ever tried! Quick service and extremely nice and friendly staff. Strongly recommended!!!
A. B.
Amazing food, nice service and atmosphere
T. G.
Lovely high end Indian. Excellent service, food and location.
S. S.
Excellent food, service and hygiene, just wish their was one in Harrogate! Best Indian we've ever had.
M. T.
Fantastic meal went there based on Google reviews wasn't disappointed at all definitely should try if your in the Nottingham city centre area
A. J.
This place is amazing. Seafood starter with the tastiest (and biggest) prawns I've had and cod cheeks which were one of the best pieces of fish I've ever eaten. Spicing was on point throughout the meal and everything was balanced to perfection. My only feedback is that the mains came out slightly too fast after the starters which was only a negative as we wanted the experience to last longer. Putting that minor point aside, the meal along with the service were flawless. Worth the trip from Manchester.
a. t.
Impeccable customer service. The ambiance is so relaxing even though the restaurant is always full. It’s advisable to book on a weekend because it’s packed out. Fantastic vegetarian options on the menu and don’t be afraid to ask if there is something you especially want, the staff and management are so accommodating. Well priced menu, great food. 10/10
M. G.
Brilliant. 5 of us to celebrate my sons 18th. Not the cheapest around but definitely value for money. The food was excellent and the service was faultless, very attentive without being in your face. We were made to feel very welcome. Been before and will go again. 100%
J. H.
Very welcoming and friendly, been twice now and both times experienced excellent service and food.
Highly recommend the ostrich starter for something different!
V. S.
Once again an amazing meal, fantastic service and extremely covid secure.
The best indian food 👌, service and ambiance. We will be coming again shortly 😋.
M. L.
Fantastic take away. Our new go to for Indian food. Great presentation, tasty food. Yes it’s a couple of pounds more but so so worth it !!
S. D.
1st time visit and really enjoyable too. Great food and service from friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more.
L. M.
The food was delish! MemSaab Salad, Traditional Extra Spicy Tikka Platter, Madras, Butter Mahkani, Peshwari Naans and a Coconut Ice Cream.... All went down and absolute treat!!
Just a shame about the waiting staff. No part of the dining experience felt personable; the feeling we got from the staff was 'just tell me what you want so I can get it', no conversation, no smiles, no nicetys and surprisingly, no consistent/dedicated waiter/ress (besides one lady who constantly made sure our water was topped up)
We had also had this booked in advance, so not a walk in, yet we were sat facing into the kitchen which was a little disappointing. Having feet constantly running behind you with large trays of food is a little annoying.
Other than these points, the company we were in was fantastic and overall we did have a very enjoyable evening.
B. B.
The food is exceptional. The service is exceptional. I spoke to a lovely lady who was so passionate about the service they give and the quality of their food. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They are a credit to the restaurant. Would happily eat there forever. Looking forward to going again soon.
S. B.
One of the best Indian restaurants in the country and its cheap!
D. R.
Service was not overly friendly, but certainly wasn't bad. The food was not as good as I remember on my last visit (3 years ago). I ordered a prawn goan curry and was brought a fish goan curry (we were in a large group so I didn't re-order due to the time). The mid course melon ball and gimmicky tiny napkin seemed unnecessary and a bit dated... I chose the restaurant for good quality food and was a bit disappointed.
c. i.
Very expensive food, good, but not great. At that price, one would expect the best Indian food ever, but, unfortunately, it wasn't so... The ratio quality - quantity - price, not at all in customer's favour. A little bit disappointed...
S. B.
Probably the best in Nottingham but some small areas leave it lacking. I am a traditionalist so this is a slightly biased review, I’m never happier than when in an old style curry house with carpets half way up the walls, etched glass partitions and sitar music in the background. This place, however, is comfortable and stylish, excellent welcoming service but the food style is a little too modern for my personal taste. That said, the flavours and quality of ingredients shine through and I’m not disappointed. In fact I’ve been here 3 times in two weeks now.
Y.
Our favourite Indian restaurant in Nottingham.
We have been there couple of time already, even with some friends and never disappointed by the quality of the dishes, from the classic curry to meal more exotic!
Make sure that you book your table before to go and enjoy!
P. S.
Excellent food, excellent service and staff. Would ear there every day.
E. B.
We picked here almost by chance, but what incredible luck. The staff were all helpful and careful, the place is impeccably clean and the food was perfect.
R. S.
We had our dinner in this restaurant last night. Food was really good and staff were nice too!
The only problem is it's a bit more expensive than other Indian restaurants!
N. B.
Service, food, drinks and atmosphere all get a 5/5 this trip. The front and back of house did an amazing job.
Lamb chops charred to perfection, pink in the middle. Curries full of depth.
Bang on

Attentive service , festive ambience and delicious food. There is one observation though.... the waiting staff are very polite to the guests, however while on the shop floor as they converse with each other in Hindi about which table needs clearing or when the next course is to be served they are not so polite . Of course, when the guests do not understand the language it would go unnoticed but if one understands the language then it may not sound very polished.
S. K.
The interior design was very pleasant and atmospheric. We started with papadums and the selection of chutneys. The Papadums tasted as if they have been sitting under heat ready to serve for a while, the selection of chutneys were pleasant but slightly underwhelming.
The curry itself came with a small portion of pilau rice given the price and it tasted rather like Heinz Tomato Soup.
It was a pleasent evening and the deserts were pretty classy - I just felt slightly let down given the reviews and ratings for the venue.
A. L.
Indian restaurant that exceeded our expectations. It was really an experience not just a meal. The food was fresh delicious and had a wow factor. On recomendation we ordered selection of starters and mains and absolutely loved all the flavours. Great attention to detail and superb staff made sure we had the best time. We will be back soon. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The staff, atmosphere and food were top class and a special mention to the Maitre ‘d. A wonderful night with wonderful food well priced and looking forward to a return dining experience.

Best Indian restaurant I've been to. The lamb nahari is to die for. The service is excellent and offer great advice if your unsure on certain dishes. Very busy but a very relaxing friendly place finished with a handshake and chat with the boss.
Highly recommended

What a dinner. Food was absolutely delicious. Lamb chops were amazing, nice collection of wine and. It's the best fine dining restaurants I have ever visited in the UK. Love for Indian food.
A. S.
MemSaab is a very nice restaurant with authentic Indian cuisine. The decor is nice and staff are very friendly. Food was fantastic, with palette cleansers and hot towels between courses which added to the fine dining experience.
Service was slower than I would have expected, especially as we neared the end of our meal and wanted the bill.
L. D.
Starters was literally THE BEST food I've had ever... Literally... mains didn't live up to amazing starters but still 8 out of 10.. staff amazing, made the evening so special. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary here, staff overheard us and bought a cake and sparklers embarrassing is no end... Thanks for an amazing evening guys

Absolutely beautiful food and fantastic service.
R. F.
The best Indian restaurant by far. Food amazing and the service is off the scale.
U. K.
Finger licking good ! We went for a family dinner on our visit to Nottingham and boy..what an amazing experience. Keep it up guys 👍
S. P.
Stylish decor, original menu. A cut above the norm. But not as much destination between dishes as I would like. And quite expensive for what it is. The Calcutta club vertically next door is better in every respect, and I think slightly cheaper. The toilets are nicer at memsaab though 🙂
K. O.
Food was delicious and the service was good too. Quite pricey but perfect for a special occasion. Loved the birthday cheesecake that came as a surprise at the end.
A. M.
My favourite Indian restaurant in Nottingham. When my Indian family members first visited me whilst I was at university, I was worried about finding a suitable restaurant to take them to - they loved this place and we revisited several times. I even had my 22nd birthday here.
N. A.
Excellent restaurant. The staff are very attentive, the food is of a very high standard. The decor is tasteful and opulent. They even took my dietary requirement of sugar-free seriously.
I used to say that Mumbai Lounge In York is the best outside London, but MemSaab now occupies this space in my league table.
A challenger to Veeraswamy!

Good and tasty Indian food. Will recommend as must to try. Fine dining
M. S.
Nice food, Covid clean and responsible, decent service. Just thought t was very expensive. The price didn't match the menu. Didn't leave delighted apart from the company we were with!
B. V.
Great service. Delicious food. The lamb dishes were all great. Biryani was a little bit upto the mark and so was roomali roti but the rest of the dishes were all really superb. If you are looking for good Indian food in Nottingham you won't go wrong to choose this one.
L. E.
Service was excellent, food was excellent, lovely good sized portions, not cheap - but in my opinion good value.
It was quiet (only eight or ten tables) so would be interesting to see how they are on a full night.
S. H.
Lovely place with great atmosphere. Owner also was dressed in traditional wear which is so authentic. Food was ok.. prawns were from frozen and rubbery... Samosas were too big and soggy.. Same for the soft shell crab… Was expected more punchy flavours as I'm from a deep Indian background. Maybe it was turned down for a western pallet. They should show the real Indian food which I know they can.
K. S.
Excellent Rogan Gosh.
C. H. Y.
Service second to none. Can't do enough for you. Wine selection excellent and the starters were delicious. Shame the Jalfrazi wasn't as tasty as if of liked. I'll just presume it was the dish and willing to give it another try.

Me and my partner have eaten here today and wow !!
Fantastic food and well worth a visit , definitely be visiting again
T. P.
Inviting and relaxing atmosphere with stunning decor. The tempting menu, features all your favourites. The food is delicious with the presentation delightful. Fairly priced for the portions received and excellent service all contribute to a fabulous time. Highly recommended.
T. G.
A fantastic restaurant. I visited on a Saturday night and the service was exceptional, the staff were polite and efficient, and the food was incredible. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I've visited.
M. M.
Fantastic food, just the right level of spice, beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Thank you. Our definite go to for indian food.
J. L.
Certainly one of the best Indian restaurants in Nottingham. The setting is of a very high quality and the staff are consistently professional and polite. The food is always very good and the wine selection available is strong.
A. J. M.
Quite simply the best restaurant I've been to. Food was amazing. I had ostrich for starters and chicken thighs for main. Staff were very friendly and polite. Meal was a little pricy but it was just pure luxury. Would definitely go again.
s. m.
Garlic Chilli hot is awesome, I think memSaab chef deserve all stars, I salute the guy, I like the service and food too.
D. H.
A high-end curry house. The menu moves beyond your usual choice of meat with one of 20 curries, to actual dishes put together with thought. Portions were more in keeping with a curry house than a fine dining restaurant, but this didn't hurt the quality - it just made us sad to have to leave some. The puddings were not huge but very tasty - a far cry from the defrosted mass-produced puddings that are normal for curry houses.
We had just come from a convention so probably would have gone elsewhere if we'd realised how fancy the place was, but the staff were just as friendly with us making the restaurant look scruffy, and the food was well worth the fancy restaurant price.

Mem Saab is a fabulous Indian restaurant located on Maid Marian Way in Nottingham's city centre. The winner of Best Indian in the Nottingham Restaurant awards for the past three years, the restaurant has a lot to live up to and it never fails to rise to the challenge. The food is authentic and there is a wide range of dishes to choose from, many of which you would not have heard of from your local curry house.
v. g.
Google led me to MemSaab so I didn't know what to expect. Well I wasn't disappointed at all. From the food to the staff it was all amazing. Staff made suggestions based on our preferences and they we spot on. All round great experience and we'll definitely add it to our favourites.
J. C.
This is the restaurant to choose if you value a warm welcome, impeccable, friendly service and the most deliciously divine dining. All this is in an attractive, spacious environment. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the team at Mem Saab and every time we visit feels like a special occasion, whether we are actually celebrating or not. As you can tell, we are huge fans of this restaurant. Visit and we're sure you will become a fan too.
J. H.
Fantastic food, cocktails and service
S. L.
Excellent experience. Highly impressed with the quality of food and service. Will definitely go back. There are a lot of excellent curry restaurants in Nottingham and I would say that Memsaab is slightly ahead in a competitive 5 star market.
N. B.
Excellent service, lovely food. Perfect place for a curry on the eve of a test match at trent Bridge! 😀
E. Y.
The service was as good as I remember and the venue is fully accessible with accessible toilets. I was disappointed with my food, however. My saag paneer lacked depth of flavour, as did the mushroom rice, and the Peshwari naan seemed to only contain coconut and sugar. 🙁
O. T.
I was sceptical about the place because I'm not a fan of that type of food because the spices don't agree with me, & it was my 1st visit to the restaurant as I went with work as it was the annual Christmas party dinner.
They catered for me for an alternative menu that I was happy to eat. Wasn't convinced I would enjoy my meal but I did. The staff kept checking to see if everything was ok with my meal which it was.
D. R. S.
I must say this is one of the best restaurants not only in UK but entire world. I can say this based on the fact that I have lived in 5 different countries across 4 continents and travel globally. Amita the owner (the gorgeous lady who wears signature saris and warm smile) ensures to look after all the guests with 100% genuine care. When she got to know that my little ones birthdays was in a weeks time. She planned a surprise for her and her sister (icecream, cake and ofcourse signing birthday song for her and didnt even charge for it) the look on my little ones face was just phenomenal. Now the trouble is she and her sister wants to visit them every year for their birthdays ...lolz... the food is super authentic and worth the price you pay for, it's not a meal which is offered here, they offer a true delightful experience. There is lot of kindness and representation of superb hospitality here. The people who work here obviously put in their hearts and soul in what they do. Wish they open a branch in hitchin too, so I can visit regularly. Keep up the phenomenal work and spreading love through your scrumptious food. Xoxo Raj

Booked for six people New year's Eve, arrived at 9pm, had to wait until 10.10pm to be seated, waited even longer to give our order, were given a complimentary drink as an apology, food arrived 11.10 pm, some was cold, sent back, reheated, mains were not great, arriving at 11.30pm, we had paid £40 deposit and with a discount for the poor service we still had to pay another £200. A total rip off. Very nice place but so disappointing.Such a shame that they had obviously over filled the venue to make money but lost sight of what brings repeat customers.A great experience, good food, good value and good service. We had none of these sadly.Very sorry to write a bad review but my advice would be not to go on a busy night because the service suffers and lets the place down.
S. E.
Best Indian restaurant I've ever visited. Excellent, courteous and attentive service. Highest standards of hygiene. Amazing food, beautifully cooked and presented. Not expensive, excellent value for money.
H. B.
I went here with work and thought that it was very pricey and the service was slow. The food was good but I didn't think it was anything extraordinary, especially given how much it cost. Having said that, the service was friendly and waiters were helpful with making recommendations.
E. C.
Second time I've been here, fantastic again. Superb good, excellent service. The Tandoori Ostrich starter was one of the best dishes I've ever had, so succulent and richly flavoured.
D. B.
By far the best Indian meal I have ever had. The service was exceptional. All dietary requirements were not an issue and made to feel very taken care of. Thank you!
T. P.
High end curry house. The venison starter was sublime, both in taste and presentation. Mains were tasty, bit the presentation was slightly less impressive. Staff were very pleasant and attentive.
D. H.
Best Indian restaurant I have ever been to in Nottingham, service second to none from arrival to leaving ,staff very courteous and food excellent, even though set menus will cater for special requests
M. M.
Excellent restaurant. Thoroughly recommend this place. Great service. The food is delicious and well presented. The restaurant has a modern feel with just the right notes of colonial India.
S. H.
Absolutely amazing. Recommend the ostrich to start and the tandoori collection for a main.
J. W.
Everything was excellent! Food is incredible. Service is second to none. Definitely not your ordinary Indian restaurant. Very deserving of all their awards.
K. H.
Visited Nottingham on business came across this restaurant which I have seen on previous business trips to the area..have to say that the experience from start to finish has been exceptional. The atmosphere the food the hygiene the service has been faultless memsaab has for sure has set the bar extremely high..very unlikely that other indian restaurants can or will achieve their standards!
A. H.
A very good quality Indian restaurant. The food isn't on the hot side unless you request it. It's all about the flavours which are fantastic. Top of my list of Indian restaurants in Nottingham.
S. T.
Fantastic food and service. Top quality curry will definitely be back.
D. W.
Modern, smart to smart-casual restaurant.
Serves delicious, elegant food. Not just the usual line up curry dishes either, a few things I've never seen before on the menu. A good mix of the familiar favourites and the unique house specials.
J. P.
Long established restaurant that consistently provides good quality Indian food with good service. Been here many times over the years both for business dinners and socially. Not the cheapest but good value.
T. A.
Great food and service. The best Indian meal I've ever had. The Lamb Rogan Josh is heavenly as is the Lahori Lamb Chop starter. Expect to pay ~£25 per person for two courses excluding drinks. Money well spent!
G. A.
Excellent on both counts of food (preparation, presentation, and taste) and service. It has become our restaurant of choice when going out for a curry, and we've never been disappointed.
M. G.
Somewhat disappointing visit, took family for special night out but left feeling underwhelmed. Food was okay but not great, I had the aGoan fish which was very bland. Overpriced for what was served up.
T. B.
Lovely fresh clean tasting food. Not oily. Lots of fresh herbs. Loved the lamp cutlet starter. Favourite is a mixed tandoori grill with their delicious curry sauce and a garlic naan. Yeah
T. D.
Classy Indian restaurant; well decorated with a pleasant and polite staff, a rounded menu offering plenty from different Indian regions. The food is well presented but I find sometimes it can be a little too much e.g the galub jamun is served in a very small flute type glass which I found hard to spoon into, a minor detail since the food is well prepared.
R. M. (.
Amazing food and great service as always!
A. M.
Best Indian Restaurant in the country in my honest opinion. The menu ever-changes and new tastes are added to the great food. The service is honest and polite along with some very traditional style of food with some slight alternatives.
E.
A quality Indian restaurant serving very well spiced, well cooked and interesting food in a refined environment. Its one of the pricier restaurants in Nottingham so be prepared to pay circa £40 per head
I. R.
Possibly the best curry house in Nottingham, amazing food and some of the best service going. I commonly use MemSaab when hosting business guests in town and they're always impressed.
N. S.
One of the Finest Indian Restaurant in Nottingham. Very Nice Ambiance and delicious food they serve.Staff is very courteous and attentive.
It has a very detailed menu From Salads to Soups and various Starters and Main courses.
I order here Aloo Tikki, Goan Vegetable Curry, Garlic Naan and also the MemSaab special : MemSaab Salad(Orange, avocado, kidney bean and green leaf salad with roasted cumin seeds).
Food was delicious and would recommend it to all the Indian Food lovers.
A. m.
A star for excellent service.
A star for easily accessible location.
A star for hygiene.
A star for enlightening flavours of the food.
A star for being babies friendly.
All the restaurants in town should pay a visit and learn a thing or 2.

I had the pleasure of dining at this exceptional restaurant on 05th June 2012. We had great service from the moment we entered the restaurant. We were greeted by one of the director's of the restaurant who personified both the elegance and warmth of the restaurant. The decor was classy and clean with interesting pictures on the walls.
We had a choice of both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and i would definitely recommend the "cocktails" and the wonderful lassi.
Being Vegetarian we had a selection of the starters which were so delicious light tasty and spicy. I would also highly recommend the chutneys that accompanied the poppodums the apricot was very good and different from what i have been offered in other indian restaurants.
The main course and starters were served in an impressive fashion with the waiters explaining what was in the dishes and reminding us what we had ordered. The food was displayed in a very professional manner. The main course was exceptionally good warm tasty and i highly recommend the dal and the nanas especially the coriander one was so good and cut in small pieces so u could sample a variety without being full on just one big naan which can happen in other restaurants.
Finally my fav part of any meal the dessert. I must tell everyone to try the Garja Ka halwa with Pistachio Kulfi it was so tasty like a carrot cake but so much more tasty with the kulfi giving it such a great taste. It was worth trying u will be in heaven.
Overall the experience was great the service was fantastic with the waiters being both attentive and friendly. It is great to see the directors of the restaurant being on the "shop floor" keen to get feedback but also providing a warm friendly and high quality cuisine experience.
I highly recommend everyone try this exceptionally great indian restaurant with great food atmosphere friendly knowledgable staff and well priced.
A. Y.
Wonderful service and a relaxed but upmarket atmosphere. Molton Brown handwash in the ladies toilets is a bonus! It would be nice to see a little more choice on the menu, but all the classics are there.
U. A.
Some of the best food I have ever had. On top of this, there was great customer service and beautiful decorations. I would highly recommend coming here.
l. c.
Pretty average if I'm honest not worth the price I don't even think they use a base sauce
H. B.
Beautiful food and excellent service. I went for the first time this week and was really impressed.
K. U.
Good food from a not so crowded menu. Service is good but it can get really busy and noisy.
Overall the dining experience was good, but the prices here can make London offerings blush.
D. G. (. b.
Best curry house in notts by far, excellent service n food.loved it...
I. M.
Very friendly and welcoming Indian restaurant. The service here is quick and polite. The only downside is the price. You can get just as good a meal from cheaper restaurant s of the same type.
m. d.
Great to eat out after so long and Mem Saab did not disappoint Great food and impeccable service in a safe environment
S. S.
First class food and service. The best I have experienced to be honest.
M. C.
No e tasty food. Service quick and pleasant
S. K.
The food and choices are very good, but it's starting to feel a bit dated inside, and still a pricey venue for a curry. Service and staff are excellent.
J. S.
Delicious food and speedy service. Temperature was taken on arrival for covid-19. Most of the waiters wore visas covering their faces.
J. S. J.
Lovely food and lovely atmosphere, with very good vegetarian options.
G. P. (. G.
An amazing atmosphere, beautiful authentic Indian themed decor, exquisite food with plenty of flavour and not too spicy, and superb service!
A bit pricey compared to some the places I normally eat. But its worth every penny.
VERY TASTY INDEED!
P. V.
Great food, lovely atmosphere, fast and attentive service.
S. M.
I've now eaten here three times, and they may well be the best three meals I've had in Nottingham. Excellent service and fantastic food. Highly recommended.
s. O.
Came here for our 1st wedding anniversary meal as a lovely treat before a show at the nottingham playhouse, I am coeliac so i explained that and they advised me in what I can eat the also had gluten free options, it was a beautiful meal, I had the chicken tikka masala so beautiful, the popadom starters with the dips was delightful we was so full we didnt have room for dessert but we both enjoyed a lovely mango lassi, we will definitely be back in the future thank you
M. H.
Fine dining at a fine price. Excellent service. Lovely environment. Excellent food. A bit pricey. Didn't like the fact that service charge was included.
R. B.
This was my second visit to this restaurant with my family, the staff are really welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone it is however on the pricey side but having said that it's well worth it and I'm looking forward to visiting again in the near future
M.
Fave Indian restaurant in Notts. The naan is really good! I hate lamb but here I would eat it, they season it in such a way that minimises the gaminess of the meat. Best place to get a nice lassi as well.
Ambience is wonderful and waiters very attentive.
A. Q.
amazing service and lovely food! best indian restaurant I have ever been to. Also quite romantic if you're looking for a nice place to go on a date.
S. S.
Went there for my 21st and it was amazing. The restaurant is beautiful, the staff are great and the food tastes really good. It was my first time having Indian and I wasn't disappointed. I recommend this restaurant to everyone
D. B.
Incredible food, pushes you out of that usual comfort zone of tika masala and korma.
Had ostrich for starters, was an incredible meat. Proper "instagram food". Definitely cooked by a chef that knows their food
L. H.
Brilliant service. Gluten free and vegan options. Very attentive when it comes to allergens. Would 100% recommend.
P. S.
I was dining at Memsaab last night with some friends and had a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding, service was excellent. I tried the lamb rogan josh and kebabs. The presentation was immaculate and the food was simply delicious. I would highly recommemd trying Memsaab in Nottingham.

N. S.
Absolutely delicious food - first visit even though I've lived here for 3 years. The food was fantastic and the service brilliant.
S. B.
Really nice food. Tasty and spicy, and some unusual dishes to choose from. Nice staff. Great place
j. g.
Wonderful. The Lamb "Nalli Gosht" was made with Lamb Shank and had a beautiful balanced flavor with a delicious spicy kick. But the star of the show was the sublime "Gajar Ka Halwa", I'm not usually one for Indian deserts but the warm, sweet, caramelized carrot cake paired with the Pistachio ice cream was one of the best deserts I have ever eaten. All served with good décor and mindful service at a decent price. Coming back with the whole family next time.
M. K.
Delicious. Excellent service. Great price. This has to be one of the very best Indian meals I have had.
J. T.
A victim of Rish's Dish. Food and service exclnt, but not fine-dinng tonight - more "stack em high n sell em fast"
